Kimberly Rhodes is a fabulous planner. She thought of all the little things I would never think of, i.e. gift boxes in the guest rooms with snacks and thank you cards; the water bottles with personalized labels. She did so much for me, I can never thank her enough. She was also really great when we went to meet with a vendor, she always asked questions I would forget to ask. She is very prepared and extremely well organized. I would recommend her to anyone who wants to have a stress-free wedding and the days leading up to it.

I cannot express how much I enjoyed working with Kimberly of Hitched Events. She is extremely reliable, upbeat, organized, creative, courteous and most importantly very competent. I used Kimberly only for her day-of coordination services, as I had already planned much of the wedding and hired most of my vendors before I decided to use a coordinator. However, she did provide some vendor suggestion early on - two of which I ended up using and loved (florist and hair/makeup). Her day-of services actually began a month in advance with a meeting to discuss where I was in the process and to help us over the finish line. After that first meeting, Kimberly seamlessly took over coordinating final details with my vendors, and each one of my vendors commented at one point or another how much they liked Kimberly and how professional she was. She was a wonderful reflection of my fiance and I in all of her dealings with third parties (and a loud voice on our side in last minute negotiations/changes as needed).

Hitched Events is here to help by taking the burden off of you and doing what we do best – planning exquisite and unique weddings for our clients. We offer everything from full event planning, where we handle all the details from start to finish, to day-of coordination, for couples who have the time and ability to plan their own wedding but simply need a seasoned professional to review their plans and handle the on-site logistics.
Hitched Events’ owner Kimberly Rhodes has more than 12 years experience planning a variety of events for retail, corporate and non-profit organizations. After graduating from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Kimberly began her career with a multi-chain retailer, where she had the opportunity to plan company parties, golf tournaments and store grand openings, in addition to in-store promotions and consumer sweepstakes. She continued to build her event portfolio when she went to work for a well-known financial services firm, gaining experience planning multi-day conferences and company meetings. In 2008, Kimberly realized her dream of living in New York City. She joined Columbia University’s Office of Alumni Affairs and began planning a variety of large-scale social events for the Ivy League institution. In her role as the Director of College Events and Programs, she had the opportunity to plan a variety of events throughout Manhattan as well as in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, D.C. and London. Her largest annual event, a multi-day event with over 2,000 attendees, prepared her for managing extremely complex events with large budgets.
Kimberly discovered her love for weddings when she began planning her own nuptials. She enjoyed every aspect of the planning process and even blogged about her experience as Miss Hippo on the popular wedding blog Weddingbee. With her extensive event planning experience and love for weddings, launching Hitched Events was a natural step. Kimberly returned to Dallas in 2011 to bring New York City style to Dallas-Fort Worth weddings, while offering her clients unparalleled attention to detail and personal service.

FAQ for Hitched Events
Never! This is our time to get acquainted and to decide if we are a good fit for each other. You’ll be spending a lot of time with your planner in the months leading up to your wedding, so it’s important that you trust (and like) the person you will be working with.
Do you charge an hourly rate, flat fee or percentage of the budget?
Typically after our initial meeting, I will put together a package and customized quote with a flat rate based on everything we discussed.
Is this your full-time job?
Yes! I’m lucky enough to plan weddings and run Hitched Events as my full-time gig. I have undivided time to devote to assisting my clients, as opposed to trying to simply work with you “on the side” or after a full-time job somewhere else. Chances are, you have a full-time job that’s not planning a wedding, so why would you hire another you?
Do you work with an assistant?
Depending on the size and complexity of your wedding, I typically have an assistant (or two) on hand to help with your event. With lots of guests or a large wedding party, having another pair of hands on site can be extremely helpful. For very small weddings or other small events, I sometimes work the event by myself.
Are you a member of any trade associations?
I am a member of the Association of Bridal Consultants, one of the oldest, largest and most respected organizations for wedding professionals in the world.
Do you run the ceremony rehearsal?
Absolutely! In conjunction with your officiant, I will run your ceremony rehearsal so that everyone knows where to be and what to do. Having someone else take on this role alleviates a tremendous amout of pressure for the bride and groom, and it’s a standard service with each of our packages.

How long have you been in business?
I officially started Hitched Events in 2011, but my actual adventures in event planning began in 1998 when I graduated from Southern Methodist University and began my career working in corporate America. Since that time, I’ve planned events of all sizes and budgets in Dallas, New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Boston, Washington, D.C. and London.
