Hoi Polloi

This band was extremely professional, organized, easy to contact, quick to respond and very very flexible! From the moment we booked them till the moment before the wedding they were accessible and able to make changes on the fly!! Now when they started playing at the wedding I fell in love with them all over again!! They play to the crowd...I come from a huge Irish Catholic family who loves loves to dance and when I tell you their was no one at their tables for me to thank it was because all 155 people were up on the dance floor unable to stop dancing because these guys played THE VERY BEST music I have ever heard!! I only sat down to eat and the rest of the time I was dancing...and I drank A ton of water!! At the end of the night we were partying and dancing and having a great time...my parents and I wanted to keep it going for another hour...and they couldn't be happier to oblige..it was if they were an extension of our guests that still wanted to hang and play because they saw how happy they had made everyone with their music and personalities! Please book these guys they are amazing and will surprise you at how great they can sense and feel a crowd!!! Excellent job guys!!!!!! Best day of my life!

I wish the rating system "went to 11" because that's what these guys deserve. Jim was awesome to deal with and helped me through every step of the planning process (even though I'm a huge procrastinator and I'm sure he wanted to kill me at times). Not only did they learn the song we wanted for our first dance, they played it better than the original artist. The rest of the night was great, even my heavy metal loving friends were on the floor dancing all night. A foot of snow in October couldn't stop these guys so I doubt anything can. If we could give Hoi Polloi 10 stars we would! From start to finish they were a true pleasure to work with. From some acoustic guitar playing during the cocktail hour, to the wedding party intro to Crazy Train, to the very last minute at the end of the reception, the party was non-stop fun. We received many compliments from our families and friends that night, and each day since. Thanks to Jim for setting us up for the best night of our lives!

Hoi Polloi was absolutely fantastic! Jim, the band's leader, was extremely communicative and collaborative during the entire process. He was meticulous about the details and made sure that my fiance and I were happy with every song selection. They have a extensive music library to choose from-- everything from the Grateful Dead to Adele! Plus, they offer an option of having a DJ play music during their breaks for a nominal fee. Our guests cannot stop raving about them! We've received multiple emails from people saying they were the best wedding band they've ever heard. And, for the NY/NJ area you can't beat their price!

We had the best experience with Hoi Polloi from the planning process to their performance! We chose the band with the addition of a sax player and female vocal. They played a majority of songs that we requested and they even let our friend play a song with them! All of our guests loved them and they gave us the best bargain out there. I would highly recommend Hoi Polloi to any bride/groom.

We believed that the music can make a wedding and this band was wonderful. They really enjoy what they do and it really shows. They even learned a song for my dads friends to be able to perform that night. Basically any song we wanted they did and even learned for us. I am just lucky enough that they were so reasonably priced for their talent. I have a feeling the more people hear them the more in demand they will be and deservingly so. If you want a fun lively jersey shore band, I would highly suggest them. Every person at our wedding complemented the band and got their business cards. They were wonderful people and a wonderful band.

They were incredible! I can’t count the compliments I received on this band from our family and friends, not to mention people who asked how to book them for their next event, but I will say that at 12:00 no one wanted to go home- they would have stayed all night if the band kept playing. They all were so much fun and had such great energy. They sounded so good that everyone kept telling me that they sounded just like the original artist. They learned our wedding song, which they didn’t know previously, in a week, and they played it perfectly. The kept the crowd into it and we danced all night long. I can’t say enough good things about this band – even after all of the previous good reviews, I was still amazed at how fantastic they were!! And not to mention the fact that they stayed in constant contact with me throughout the process and were extremely easy to work with. And all of this on top of the fact that they are the most reasonably priced band around – especially for the amazing performance they give!
