We absolutely LOVED our cake from Holiday Market! It was so beautiful as well as tasty. We received a lot of compliments about it. Holiday Market is a very good value for your money. We just kept it small and had a two tiered cake with a sheet cake as well and it worked out perfectly. Much more affordable then other bakeries we looked into.

Dealing with Kim from Holiday Market was a breeze. She was wonderful. She chit chatted with us, found out about our relationship, wedding plans, ideas and drew our cake out for us. The tasting solidified it for us and we put a deposit down right away. We definitely went Over budget on cake and I couldn't be happier! Our cake was amazing. Half chocolate with chocolate mousse and half pumpkin spice with cream cheese- all topped off with buttercream frosting. We had less people than we thought we were going to get and instead of having cake left over it was gone!!! They also give you a cake for your first anniversary...
Great customer service, a breeze to work with and beautiful/tasty cakes... what more could you...

Our wedding cake was beautiful and exactly what I wanted. I also ordered a grooms cake in the shape of a football helmet, which was a huge hit. Thank you!!

We had to bring in our own caterer for our wedding. After looking at standard catering companies, I started looking at gourmet stores that do catering in addition to selling great food products. We had tastings with 2 and chose Holiday Markets. They were great to work with, their food was AMAZING. I've been to dozens of weddings in my life and never heard the food raved about as much as our guests did. I agree it was fabulous. Holiday Market will work with you to get delicious food within your budget. They can also arrange for all rentals, which takes away this additional task from a busy bride.
I also ordered my cake from their bakery department. It was yellow cake with Passion Fruit Mousse, which was SO delicious.
I highly recommend Holiday Market if you are in a situation where you have to bring in your own food and rentals. I'm a real "foodie" and their food was delicious, they even made it our specifications with seasonings, etc.

I received an offer for a special wedding cake from Holiday Market by attending a bridal show at the Palace. Our 3-Tier buttercream cake for 125 people was a combination of marble cake with chocolate ganache and white cake with fresh raspberry mousse.
We loved the personalized attention we received from Kim at our tasting (including 3 mini-cakes to take home with us) and the fact that we will receive another cake on our 1 year anniversary. They also have beautiful sterling silver cake stands and we ended up renting one that matched our cake perfectly.
Our guests LOVED our wedding cake. People were fighting each other over the chocolate ganache pieces! (Okay, not really, but you get the idea).

I love Holiday Market!!! I went to a Bridal expo this Sunday 01/17/2010 @ the Palace and they have a wedding special. A 3 tiered buttercream cake for $399. I like HM because they use buttercream and the cake is light & flavorful, not too sweet and the icing on the buttecream is just right. They did my 35th Bday cake last year and it was beautiful. I'm trying to find a way to upload the pic.

Food was amazing. Service was amazing. A little pricey. Highly recommend it.

My wedding cake was beautiful and was on time for the wedding reception. The only thing that I felt did not go well was trying to speak to the wedding cake planner. I would leave messages that would go unanswered. I would have to call two to three times before speaking to her and that was little frustrating. Other than that she was very professional and I loved my cake!

My cake was gorgeous!!! I found several things on different cakes that I liked and they were able to incorporate them all beautifully into my design. It was the most beautiful cake I have ever seen and it tasted amazing!!! I've never tasted frosting sooo good and I don't care for frosting. The cake was very moist. We did chocolate and yellow cake. I don't typically like yellow cake but it was sooo yummy. I've never been more pleased with anything! The people in the bakery were great and they were swamped the day I went in to order my cake and they didn't rush me or anything. It was a fabulous experience!! And Sabrina did a terrific job on the decorations!!! Just awesome!!!

They let us design our cake and helped us figure out how much we would need. They were very helpful. We sent them paint samples for the colors that we wanted and they matched them perfectly. I loved my crazy mad hatter wedding cake that they made!

I got my engagement cake here, I went out of the country to get married, but I recommend Holiday to everyone. I also get other occasion cakes here too. The flavors, styles, and decorations are beautiful and they have been in the business for a long time too.

Holiday Market is a well-known specialty grocery store, bakery, and more in the Metro Detroit area. The price is not going to be the cheapest, but the cake will be the best you've ever tasted. We got a basic three tiered wedding cake and were thrilled with our experience with Holiday Market. They can also do catering for food, bartending, etc but that was a little out of our price range. Even if you don't think you can afford $3.50/slice (really not that expensive, plus they can make sheet cakes in the back for $1.75/slice and your guests will never know!) --- PLEASE STOP HERE TO SAMPLE THEIR CAKES. You can call ahead and ask about the cake and filling flavors and they will make you little cakes with what you'd like to try and have them ready for your appointment. We had no idea that we'd get full cakes, and after sampling a piece of each - they gave us the WHOLE CAKES to take home (I am not sure if they do this if you don't order from them, but either way, it was delicious, classy, and well worth stopping in). We ordered our cake then and went with the option of having a slightly smaller 3-tiered cake and having some cheaper layered sheetcakes in the back to reduce the price a bit. Their buttercream is amazing and we opted for a simple design with dots and upgraded to the buttercream plus Hero Raspberry preserves filling, which was delicious. The only thing that I would say wasn't as planned was that I asked for space between the tiers for my florist to place flowers, and the mock-up of our cake showed at least 2 or 3 rows of roses to fit between each tier. I was told that upon delivery, the space between the tiers could barely fit 1 row of roses... so the cake was not as grand/tall as I had wanted. Still, some flowers did get squeezed in and it looked beautiful (I didn't notice as the bride, I don't think). Anyway, if you want to go for QUALITY, you can't go wrong with anything from Holiday Market. The best flavor, excellent ingredients, and a great design team. We needed 170 pieces and the total was around $800 including everything. The price was hard to stomach but the cake was EASY to stomach. The CUTEST thing about them is that instead of giving you the top tier to put in your freezer so it will rot for a year, they send you a coupon to hold onto for your 1st anniversary, which you can cash in for a FREE CAKE. This was awesome and absolutely a brilliant idea. Get those samples!
