Skip, thank you so much for all of your help and speedy delivery! We appreciate you working with us and our travel group to change dates, etc. We've never worked with a travel agent as wonderful as yourself, you took so much stress away from the planning of our trip! I always felt like we were getting the best deals possible with your skills at hand. I would highly recommend your services to anyone of my family or friends. We're so excited for our vacation! Thank you!!!

I normally don’t write reviews, good or bad, but I really feel it is necessary to in this instance, because of the exceptional customer service we received from The Honeymoon Guru and Skip.
I’m extremely stubborn at times and when I became engaged back in February, I frankly scoffed at the idea of using someone else to book our honeymoon. I travel three or four days during the week and I figured I can find the best hotel package for my honeymoon. Not only that, but I am EXTREMELY picky when I travel and thought to myself no one knows what I want besides myself. However, my fiancé had me call The Honeymoon Guru as her friends have used them before and I am so thankful I did!
Within a couple of minutes from talking to Skip, he knew EXACTLY what I wanted in my honeymoon as he asked the right questions. Not only did he ask the right questions, but he got us exactly what we wanted and more for that matter for much less than I thought it was going to be. I can be a pain in the rear sometimes, but Skip was patient with me, answered the questions, and promptly returned my calls and emails. The package deal Skip was able to put together for us was a couple thousand less than we could have gotten on my own and included much more!
We do plan on using Skip in the future for our upcoming trips. I know planning a wedding can be a daunting, stressful task. With Skip and the Honeymoon Guru, it was a stress free and very enjoyable time. When it comes to picking a vendor for your honeymoon, go with Skip and the Honeymoon Guru!

-Planning our honeymoon we wanted to make it something to remember and hearing about Skip, we decided to leave it in his hands. We gave him a simple list of the things we wanted and simply said," He delivered with perfection!" Our honeymoon to the Valentin Imperial Maya resort exceeded our expectations. The resort was everything we hoped for from the room/view, FOOD & DRINKS, and overall friendly & welcoming. As they said when we first arrived,"Welcome home!" Working with Skip will indeed be in our future trip planning, not only based on his services, but on his attention to detail and constant follow ups to make sure everything was perfect before and after our vacation.Sincerely-Chris & Amanda Neelley

The Honeymoon Guru was referred to me by my good friend Lisa who planned her own destination wedding with Skip. My husband, Mark, and I decided to get married in Mexico because we wanted a tropical location that offered warm temperatures in January. I spoke with Skip on the phone about what we wanted and from there he put me in touch with the El Dorado Resort. I have never planned a wedding much less via the internet, but Skip helped me through it all and answered my endless questions. Despite all the stress and worry I put myself through everything turned out better than I expected! The hotel staff at the El Dorado bent over backwards to make my wedding beautiful. My guests said they had a fantastic time. Also, Skip did a wonderful job with last minute additions and one apprehensive father-of-the-bride. My dad later said he had a great time and plans on calling Skip to plan a trip for himself. Next year, Mark and I will take our honeymoon… Skip standby for a call. Thanks again for all the hardwork. We could not have pulled this off without you!

There is no way our wedding would have been the same without Skip. Thanks to Skip, we were able easily travel with 60 friends and family to the Riviera Maya for our wedding. Skip even guided us through which wedding venue and what services we would want at the resort. I really had no idea a wedding could be as fun and stress-free as ours was, and that’s all thanks to Skip! I would recommend him to anyone planning a wedding in the Mexican Rivera!

Skip and Amy were so great in helping us plan our wedding and honeymoon. Once we had decided on a destination wedding, I googled "destination wedding travel agent" and I was lucky to find Skip. I called him and and met with me the next day. He suggested El Dorado Maroma for the location and it was PERFECT for our wedding. Skip and Amy handled everything with my guests and helped us book the rooms, wedding, excursions, etc. They were also involved in making sure the resort helped me with the wedding planning. Their suggestions and help were invaluable in the process and I couldn't have done it without them.

Skip,
Sherrie and I wanted to thank you for putting together a great first time trip to Hawaii! We didn't know what to expect and leaning on your expertise went against our nature, but trusting you was the very best decision we made! We told you we were willing to make our own breakfast and lunch while on Maui and you found us the Outrigger Condo on the Kaanapali Royal course and just a 5 minute walk to the beach! It was PERFECT! When we return to Maui, we want to stay there again! Then, you set up a second island visit to Oahu! Staying at the Waikiki Parc with that incredible view made the trip! You set up everything for us to do and with your contacts, made everything SO much easier to deal with! Visiting the Arizona Memorial was a very moving moment which all Americans need to experience one day. But, for me, the one event that made the trip was the Dolphin Encounter out of Waianae Bay. Oh my, swimming with Spinner Dolphins and Sea Turtles is one of the top 5 experiences of my life! Thank you again for putting together such a wonderful trip to Hawaii... it will not be our last!

Thanks so much for all of your help planning our 2011 summer vacation to The Riviera Maya/Playa del Carmen! My husband and I never got to take a honeymoon due to unforeseen bumps in the road around the time of our wedding, and two years later we both were more than ready to spend some time together somewhere beautiful, romantic, and fun! We have never been on a trip quite like this, and honestly, we had no idea where to begin researching "the perfect place" for us. Our good friends, Luke & Erin, had recommended Skip, and we sure were glad they did! Skip worked with us, and made sure we picked out a place that included everything we were looking for in our price range. It was a fun process to see all the places we could've gone and how they differed from each other. I'm glad we chose the El Dorado Royale in the Riviera Maya. Everything was as easy to figure out as Skip promised it would be. Everyone from Lomas and the Resort were overly friendly and helpful. The resort was beautiful, and everything we wanted to do outside of the resort we could book right there with no worries! Skip provided us with safety precautions as well. Upon arrival, it was easy to see that the Yucatan peninsula was extremely safe, and there wasn't anything to worry about. The only hiccup we had was a small problem with the airline, which had cancelled some of its summer flights out of Austin. We ended up taking a flight out of San Antonio (about an hour away), but Skip reimbursed us for our week long parking and even offered us a hotel (which we declined). This situation with the airline was not Skip's fault, and he went out of his way to try to make sure we were happy. We understand that sometimes unfortunate situations happen, and knowing that you have someone working for you on your side definitely calms the mind!!! Thanks so much Skip for everything! David and I look forward to working with you in the future for all of our travel needs!

Hey Skip,Thanks again for the help putting our trip together. We went for our 10 year anniversary and it was perfect. The Vow Renewal was more than expected and had lots of options and details that just made everything memorable. We added the photo package and really enjoyed Marva our photographer. The Resort itself was great and had a beautiful beach. The staff work very hard to make sure you could do what you would like and did it with a great attitude. Captain Patrick took us on a private snorkel trip, to the private island and some shopping also. I would say the best shopping during our stay was found on the resort itself (vendors), the gift shop, and the airport as we left. We did the bamboo rafting down the Martha Brae and it was relaxing even the vendors there weren't pushy. We also did the sunset cruise on the Red Dread and enjoyed the Island History from the Captain on the way back. By far the best entertainment was the Silver Birds Steel Drums, but we enjoyed them all and won our share of prizes. Robert in the Oleander Room Restaurant was by far the best waiter on the resort. This was our first Sandals experience and we could not say enough about it. We really enjoyed every minute and were sad to leave. Jamaica is a beautiful island and the people on the resort made it great. Thanks again -Rett & Kim

Amy and Skip Neal were very professional and prompt. They always kept us up to date on flight changes and when our wedding guests paid payments. We are using them again for our anniversary trip next year!

Skip and Amy helped us to plan the perfect honeymoon for our taste! We told Skip how much we had to spend, what we wanted and he came back with several great ideas! We chose the perfect hotel for our trip to Playa Del Carmen and were pleasantly surprised to have the exact room and location that we requested. PS - if you planning a honeymoon to Playa Del Carmen I highly recommend the Real at Playa Del Carmen. All the wonderful reviews and you read are to the T true. All in all is was a great experience and I would recommend to my friends and family.

Let me begin by saying we had an AWESOME time on our honeymoon at El Dorado Maroma. It was the perfect resort for us and we could not be happier with your suggestion. The room was amazing, the beach was great, and the food was delicious. I must say I was pretty nervous about what Sarah was going to eat throughout the week because we are limited to restaurants here in the states. But everyone at the resort was very knowledgeable about Gluten allergies which made our trip stress free. We loved Sabores Mexican food restaurant, and Fernando and Victor (who are waiters there) were wonderful and helpful to Sarah throughout the week. We are very pleased with the work that you did setting our trip up and your recommendation. We could go on and on about what a wonderful place it was. We will definitely be using you in the future when we plan trips and can't thank you enough

About Skip and Amy
How much are your fees?
Nothing- we currently don’t have any fees. Our services are complimentary due to the fact that the resorts compensate us.
Why aren’t there prices on your website?
We want to customize what you want, not what a newspaper or brochure says. Posting suggested prices is generally not accurate and can be misleading to the client. Therefore, we choose not to partake in that type of activity.
What qualifications do you have?
Travel Institute; Honeymoons and Destination Wedding Travel Specialist, Hawaii Specialist, Mexico Specialist- Sandals, Beaches, and Royal Plantation Specialists
Can you help us if we have problems or questions while we are traveling?
Yes
Why should we use you?
If you like one-on-one attention, 7 days a week customer service, being a name not a number, someone that works with what you want and not what we want, having the phone answered by Skip or Amy, not being transferred by an operator, then we are probably a good fit for you. We specialize in honeymoon and destination wedding travel. We do not work with corporate travel. Therefore, we have the time that it takes to plan your honeymoon and/or the travel for your destination wedding. However, if you like spending the hours that it takes for thorough research and customer service is not of importance, we are probably not the best fit.
Can you customize what we want, not what is on the TV, newspaper, etc?
Absolutely!
We have no idea where to go, can you help us?
Absolutely!
If I want to do my own research and pick everything, can you book it so I can get the proper customer service?
Yes
What destinations do you specialize in?
Mexico, Europe, Caribbean, South Pacific, and Hawaii
Can you recommend other vendors?
Absolutely!
Why don’t you have a store?
We decided not to have a store so that we are able to provide more one-one-one attention to our clients.
We found a quote on-line. Can you match or beat the price?
Yes. Just send us the exact quote- we have to match apples to apples.
Can we use you guys again after our honeymoon?
Absolutely!
Destination Weddings/Group Bookings
Is a group rate better than individual rates for a destination wedding?
Sometimes
How do group bookings work?
We receive a contract from the wholesaler stating that we are guaranteeing the payment of “X” amount of rooms. The contract must be signed along with the deposits for each person and returned within 7 days of the signed contract. If after we turn in the contract other people decide they want to go, we have to request those rooms. Those rooms may or may not be approved.
Could my room rate change from a group booking?
Yes- for example: if we booked 3 people in a room and 1 cancelled, the new room rate would be for 2 people and the rate would probably increase per person.
What is the minimum number of rooms that you need for a group booking?
10 rooms
Why do you recommend a local wedding coordinator when I am having a destination wedding?
It can be frustrating communicating with the destination wedding coordinator at the resort since they have multiple weddings a day. If you have a local wedding coordinator, they can be that go-between person for you. We also have local wedding coordinators that we can refer that speak Spanish.
