I knew right off the bat I wanted something different for my wedding (which was different in and of itself). I lovelovelove Celtic music. I did some research online and found Horizon Strings/Foxtree out of Ann Arbor. I listened to a demo CD and was sold! I selected songs for procession and recession, and then let them just have fun during the cocktial hour, dinner, and reception. It was great! The music was a nice background for conversation and dinner, and dancing was fun for all ages. All the guests commented about how great the music was and that they played almost nonstop! I highly recommend this group to anyone looking for strings in general or Celtic music in particular.

I requested a specific selection of traditional wedding music and Rebecca Appert and her group played everything that I wanted. The group really helped to create the authentic Jewish ceremony my fiance and I were hoping for!

About Horizon Strings Group
Examples of events we have played are: Weddings, parties, cocktail hour, reception, special occasions, funerals, church services- Christmas and Easter, anything that falls under that category.
We play classical, celtic, folk, jazz, and some popular tunes as well. A sound recording with song list is available upon request.

Play all types of events- weddings (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner) parties, corporate events, etc.
String quartet is 2 violins, viola and cello
String trio is violin, viola and cello
String duo is a combination of the above (usually violin and cello, but you can also choose)
We also have a celtic/folk band available for weddings, parties, and events too. This is made up of two fiddles and guitar, and optional cello or bass.
