Hot Shot Mobile DJ

Our DJ was the first vendor we booked. We found Hot Shot Mobile DJ at the Richmond bridal show and were really impressed by both the price and the apparent quality of the services offered. Over time it became apparent that the owner, John Oulet, was terrible at communication. I often had to make multiple phone calls even after e-mailing him before I would get a response. The day of the wedding ALL of the ceremony music was wrong. The DJ tried to blame the owner for not providing him with the music selection sheet until two days before the wedding. I'm still not sure why he never thought to call and let me know that my selections were not available even though he had the time. It turns out that the DJ also wasn't prepared with equipment. He did not have a USB cable for his laptop and actually had to borrow one from one of my guests! No bride should have to be waiting to walk down the aisle and realize from the first note that none of her specially chosen music for the wedding was going to be used...what an awful surprise it was! I would avoid this vendor at all costs!

We recently used HotShot Mobile DJs for our wedding a couple of weeks ago -- In the beginning of my planning (over a year ago) they seemed very eager to please and helpful, but after letting them know that we wanted to place a deposit on our date we never heard from them. We called and left messages and emails but the responses were always "We have you marked on the calendar, so you're all set." Anywho, the day finally came and the limo service they provided was wonderful - prompt and professional. The DJ who came to spin for us was good, but wore jeans and a Tshirt. All in all, our reception was a blast and we rode in style, but I would definitely improve on the communication!

Arrived late, set up continued almost to the point of the B&G arriving.
Got the big screen...NEVER saw one music video...the only pictures that displayed were the ones I provided on a DVD..that was not returned..most of the time the screen was a huge blank eyesore.
Had to tell the guy, turn it down, play this, play that, time for this...not really my job as I had given them a detailed playlist.
Guy was so clueless, we missed the garter toss and bouquet because the Photog left...it was 9pm and he hadn't announced these things.

Asked for a refund when I wrote and told them I was unhappy...NEVER answered ANY emails...very unprofessional
My advise...use someone else!
