We stayed in one of the suites on our wedding night. All the staff was very attentive. My husband went a couple months before our wedding to look at rooms and chose one for us. He looked at several luxury hotels in downtown Minneapolis and liked Hotel Ivy's combination of decor, location and amenities. He arranged in advance for champagne to be delivered when we checked in, and they also brought us a plate of chocolate covered strawberries--a nice addition. Staying here was definitely a splurge, but worth every penny!
We stayed here for my bachelorette party. This place is pristine, so nice and "expensive-looking" if you know what I mean. It's in a great part of the city because there is always something to do in downtown Minneapolis. We walked to the Melting Pot for dinner and then went to a few bars downtown that night. The rooms were so nice and clean and it never felt like we were staying in a hotel...although the price was as if we were in a villa in Italy! It wasn't bad for us all to split, but alone it would have been outrageous for two nights. It was well worth it.
We would not have had our reception at any other venue. This place was breathtaking. Everywhere you looked it was just sheer beauty and it had a very modern feel. The banquet facility we used was perfect; it was called the Gershwin Ballroom. The staff made every single person their feel comfortable and important. It was pricey but well worth it for my wife.
