Reviews for Hotel Vitale
We stayed at the Hotel Vitale the night before our wedding, and we loved it. The hotel itself is very chic and luxurious, but the best part is the location. When we arrived, they had champagne and chocolates waiting for us in our room, and we took them out to the roof deck on the same floor and sat out sipping our wine and watching the people go by on the Embarcadero. It was incredibly romantic and a beautiful way to start our wedding weekend. We also had a gorgeous view of the Bay Bridge from our very attractive and comfortable room.
This hotel does a great job with the details - in addition to the champagne, they left rose petals on our bed when they did the turn-down - and I loved the Fresh toiletries! In addition, because of the wedding, we had the bellhop going up and down several times to collect all of our stuff, and she couldn't have been sweeter or more helpful.
All in all, an excellent place to stay in San Francisco!
$399 per night in family suite
From the moment we walked into their lobby, we were treated very kindly with all the staff members.
After seeing all their pictures on their website, I knew that Hotel Vitale would be perfect for us for the weekend. We booked a family suite to give ourselves some extra room when I was getting ready, and we wanted to splurge a bit.
The family suite only offers limited views, while the panoramic suite has full 180 degrees of the Bay Bridge for close to $799 per night. The family suite suited our needs (and budget!), so we booked online without any problems.
Two weeks before the reception, we decided to go to the hotel and see the family suite. We called the hotel earlier and they said it would not be a problem at all to show up a vacant suite. To make a long story short, they must have showed us the worst family suite they had. The window in the room was so tiny I don’t think I could have fit myself through it. The view in that room was atrocious, and needless to say, we were panicked that we were spending close to $1000 to spend two nights in this room. The hotel employee who showed us the room must have seen the horrified looks on our face and told us that he would put in a request for us to have the most aesthetically pleasing family suite available, however, it would not be known until we checked in if we could get this room. So with fate, we kept the reservations. But honestly, I looked at all the other suites in that area and they were all booked, so we were forced to just face what would come.
Our friend dropped us off at the hotel on Friday around 4:30. Valet parking is offered for a steep $42 per night, so we decided to not bring our car with us. As soon as we arrived, a doorman promptly opened our doors. A large event was occurring in the lobby and all the garment racks were being used. Once they saw I had my wedding dress, one of the floor managers got up from his desk (at least 15 feet away from us) very quickly and gently helped me out of the car and took the dress himself and went to direct an available bellboy to get him an available garment rack in storage. =)
Check-in was easy, and the staff congratulated us for our wedding reception. The hotel lobby has a very minimalist decorum, and the restaurant Americano is located on the lobby level. We received two room cards, and a key to the suite’s honor bar.
We arrived in our family suite and we were blown away. The employee who showed us the decrepit suite with the tiny window really hooked us up with an AMAZING suite! The windows were 6 ft high and nothing like the pitiful suite they showed us earlier. Everything was clean, a CD player in the room was playing soft music, and the hotel uses Fresh products – which I use myself and they are quite expensive (I made sure to pack the shampoo to go home, hehe).
Literally two minutes after we entered the room, the bellboy knocked on our door and placed everything away for us. He was very courteous and even offered to help us make dinner reservations.
Our television wasn’t working so they sent their technician within 5 minutes after our call to correct it (it just needed to reset). We forgot toothpaste and they sent it again within 5 minutes after our call.
Our rooms were cleaned twice a day, and there was a nice chocolate near our pillows, water, small poetry quote by our bed, and a nicely written “weather report” for the next day. The shower pressure was great and we used a sakai bubble bath that was part of their honor snack/household bar.
We ordered room service one night and the kind gentlemen who took my order called me before they sent up the order because he had told us it was minestrone soup but it was actually “vegetable medley” soup and if that was ok with me. =) The food is from their restaurant Americano so it was very delicious, high quality food – definitely not your typical hotel’s room service.
There is a gorgeous deck on the 5th floor that we lounged on to look at the Ferry Building and the Bay Bridge – a great opportunity for us to take pictures also!
My girlfriends and I had breakfast in Americano which was expensive, but very good. The restaurant staff was very friendly, and the décor of the restaurant matched the entire hotel.
Overall, this was the best hotel I’ve stayed in. The staff was so friendly and I would not hesitate to recommend this place to anyone. Oh, book room 737 if you can! Gorgeous! It is right by the stairs, so you may hear some loud people going down the steel staircase, but it was a price we were willing to pay to stay in that room.
Amazing rooftop for cocktail party receptions! They have two different rooftops to use, one smaller but more traditional rectangle shape. On the smaller rooftop, we will have our ceremony, and on the larger, two-story rooftop we'll have a cocktail/dancing/hours'duerve reception. We cannot wait to have the ultimate City wedding, as the view can't be beat. The look is very modern and clean.
