I purchased a sample gown from the downtown store. I loved my dress, but after finally tracking down the designer and name, I think they inflated the original price of the dress quite a bit. They told me it was originally on sale for $2,500.00, it was probably closer to $1,200.00 new. I did pay less than that and loved the dress, so OK. The alterations department was very no-nonsense and they took the three fittings necessary to make the dress fit properly. They were flexible with appointments, which was good.I had a good experience overall.

I should say that this review is for the website only. I used this vendor to buy my wedding gown, after finding it at a very pricey bridal boutique. I can say that the dress arrived in good condition. The price was indeed quite a lot cheaper than the boutique where I first found the dress. Now that it's all done, I can say I would have paid more for the customer service and peace of mind that I would have gotten elsewhere. I placed my order in early February and got a single confirmation email - then nothing. for MONTHS. I was incredibly anxious for weeks because I had no idea where my dress was, or when I could expect to have it in my hands. Calls and emails to customer service could only tell me that my credit card had been charged (duh) and the order was pending - not helpful at all. Then one day in MAY, the dress just showed up! I was never notified that it had shipped, I received no tracking number. Considering the vendor charges a large fee (~$100) for a returned delivery, it was sheer luck that someone was around to sign for the delivery!!!! All of that said, it was the style, color, and size I had ordered, so they did get that right.Customer service with this vendor is HORRIBLE. If you want to stay sane and save money, look elsewhere!

Well, it started out great. Colleen H was my consultant. She is a doll and helped me find a gorgeous dress that I loved - and bought. The dress came early and was perfect. If I had walked out the door at that moment, I would have given them 4 stars - maybe 5, but unfortunately, that is when things hit the fan...I came back for my alterations and they sent me to a back room to meet with a crotchety old european woman with one red eye - seriously. It was straight out of Snow White. I am pretty sure she put a curse on me. She was so mean to me. My dress was ordered in the size THEY measured me for and she refused to zip my dress all the way, accusing me of gaining weight. Now, any bride knows perfectly well you need to use a little elbow grease to zip a wedding dress THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO BE SNUG. Besides, ummm...aren't you a seamstress? Isn't your job to make it fit? (And no, I had not gained an ounce) It turned out I just needed to take off my bra and then it was perfect. I asked for my original consultant Colleen to come help because I was upset with the seamstress at that point. That's when she really got mad. She crossed her arms and moped around, refusing to speak to me.It gets worse. The store had guaranteed, in writing, ON MY RECIEPT that I would not pay more than $349 for my alterations. The crazy red-eyed seamstress indignantly insisted that her prices had gone up and I would have to pay $499. I complained to a manager and all she could do was tell me "we will have to get back to you." WHAT?? I'm pretty sure that's illegal, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt and left. The next day they called me to say they would honor the $349, but it was too late. I decided I would not leave my dress with Cruella the wedding dress ogre. When I came to collect the dress, a woman at the desk asked why I wasn't leaving it. I told her about what happened with the alterations woman. She was not the least bit surprised. Her answer? "Well, we know how she is, but she does a good job." You know how she is?? There are plenty of people who can sew, there is no excuse for letting your customers - brides no less - who are supposed to be having a special experience and spending a significant amount of cash - be treated that way. That's a real shame if they are aware of this. I wouldn't expect to be treated that way at Burger King, let alone shopping for my wedding dress. I took my dress to Dress Dr at the water tower for alterations - lifesavers! Ladies, this city is filled with lovely bridal stores dying for your business. Find one. Don't go here.

When our initial bridesmaid dress vendor refused to come anywhere close to www.houseofbrides.com pricing, we decided to put our trust in this online company and we're so glad we did! House of Brides.com based in Chicago, IL was great to work with and well worth the money. The dresses came back in just the right sizes and colors just as we requested!

NEVER RECOMMENDING THIS PLACE FOR BUSINESS!!!
House of Brides has done nothing to help ease the burden of being a bride and wedding planner of my own wedding. I came to Chicago (I'm from Las Vegas) to go dress shopping with my mom in January and heard good things about this place, so we went. Honestly, they didn't have nearly the selection advertised on the website available to try on in the store, which made my heart sink a little after bringing in an entire list of dresses I wanted to try on but most of them were not in the store. I don't know about the average bride, but this one expects to be able to see what I freakin' will look like in a dress before I buy it.
Anyway, I ended up picking a dress that I liked and they told me it was going to take 3-4 months to get since it had to be made. After 3 months, I called and they said it was going to be 4-5 months. I called again 2 weeks later and was told at least 6 months. My wedding is in Sept and I live out-of-town, so when I asked if I could have it expedited the day I paid for it over the phone, she said I wouldn't need to. Needless to say I still don't have the dress and when I decided to get another dress that I liked better elsewhere and knew I could get in time, I called House of Brides, told them my situation and asked them what my options were. The manager Nadia? told me that, "your options are none. You will get the dress in time and we have a no-refund policy." I told her I was upset and scared that I wouldn't get it in time to do alterations properly and she basically told me to stop worrying and that it would be fine.
Now I have a dress that cost me 1/4 of the price that I like better and have in my closet currently, so I guess you'll be seeing my on Amazon, Ebay, and Craigslist trying to sell this freaking dress...whenever it decides to get here. Thanks for making my wedding dress experience NOT special House of Brides!

I ordered my bridesmaids dresses in September and received my receipt and confirmation via email. Late October, they called me with a question about my order. Because they had a pending question my order was never placed even though I received a order confirmation! There was no way my dress would arrive on time seeing that they waited 4+ weeks to close out a pending question. Needless to say I had a shouting match with the customer service representative and she hung up on me. When I called back I was informed that since I was not happy with their service they had already canceled my order!! Luckily I found NetBride (my dress angels) to order the same bridesmaid dresses through at the same price. I reported House of Brides to the BBB. DO NOT USE HOUSE OF BRIDES!!!!

My review has to deal with 2 House of Bride locations.#1:SchamburgMy initial visit there was great. Joanna K helped us find both the bridesmaids dresses and my dress within 1.5 hours. She made me feel very comfortable, and made dress shopping easy. That is the only good thing I can say about the Schamburg location. After the initial visit things went downhill extremely fast. First of all, we were told to order the bridesmaids dresses in May for an October wedding. My girls got the orders in by May 8th. The dresses took over 5 months to come in, when I was told it would be 14-16 weeks. The dresses came in 1 week before the wedding, and they forgot to order one. So with 7 days to spare I had to find a replacement dress, and House of Brides did absolutely nothing to help! They even tried to blame the missing dress on us! The woman in charge of ordering, named Debbie, was completely rude to me every time I talked with her on the phone, and even hung up on me once! The store manager pretended to be sympathetic, but did nothing to solve the situation. I would NEVER recommend this location to anyone! Please save yourself a lot of time and stress don't even bother with them!#2:ChicagoAfter the horrible service I had from the Schamburg location I did not trust them to alter my dress, so I took it to the House of Brides in Chicago. Let me say that this store has the class that Schamburg lacks. Not only is it cleaner and nicer looking, the staff was more friendly and responsive to my needs than the other location. Donna in alterations is AMAZING! She cracks jokes the entire time, which I found refreshing in the high stress situation of dress fitting. She made the entire alterations process simple, and even scheduled an appointment with me outside of her normal appointment times. My dress was beautiful and fit perfectly, and nothing she did came undone or fell apart the day of. If I could review Donna alone she would get 5 stars and then some! My recommendation is to skip the Schamburg store and head downtown for a better experience.

I ordered my bridesmaid dresses from here. We were happy with the dresses in the end but the service at this store was absolutely horrible and the process was confusing. I was also misquoted on the price.

When I went to House of Brides Couture to get my bridesmaid dress they couldn't find the correct dress. They then went to measure me and the sizes didn't match up with my body. The girl explained that the dresses run one to two sizes larger and forced me to order larger. I have not received the dress yet, but I am afraid it's going to be way too big and I'm going to have to spend another $100 on alterations. The saleswoman was not friendly and I did not feel like I was treated correctly. The other bridesmaid in the wedding were upset with them as well and one girl was even brought to tears in the store. If I use the Dessy Group dresses for my own wedding, I will not go through House of Brides.

Great dress and wonderful alternations - Donna can really work some magic!! This was only the second shop I visited and I knew right when I walked in that I was going to love it there...they did not disappoint!

I was a little nervous when looking at HOB because I had read many negative reviews online previously. I went to the House of Brides Couture location in Chicago. It is a nice boutique and very easily accessible by the el. I met with Alex and she helped me to pick out a few dresses that fit the criteria that I was looking for. I found the dress and Alex was able to give me a discount to help keep the price down. I had to purchase the dress with extra length because I am over 5'10, I think we had 2 1/2 inches added. Obviously when you try dresses on they will likely be too big or small because they keep one of that dress in stock...so when I tried it on it was a big small so we went one size bigger. I ordered my dress exactly 6 months before my wedding and HOB put that my wedding date was a month early so we could make sure it was in on time. No problems there, it came in exactly when it was scheduled to. When I tried on the dress...it was pretty big which I expected, but I was disappointed that Donna (the alterations woman) said that we needed to shorten the dress because it was too long (I wore flip flops to my wedding) We ended up taking probably 2 inches off the bottom of the dress. I don't know if ordering 1 size bigger made the dress longer, but I was upset that I paid for the extra length (about $200) and ended up having it taken off basically. Other than that, everything went great. Donna did an excellent job with the alterations and everything was professional and done in a timely manner. And my bustle did not fall or break, which has happened to many of my friends at their weddings recently. I was very pleased overall.I don't know about their other stores, but I would recommend the Couture Shop in downtown Chicago

House of Brides was the FIRST place I looked for a dress and definitely did not think I'd find one on the first trip, but I did and it ended up working out perfectly for me. The pros for HoB were that it was super convenient for me, living in the city of Chicago. I could book alteration appointments easily and the woman in the alterations department, Donna, was so great to work with. She was flexible and accessible when I changed my day I wanted to pick up my dress. It was also a huge "pro" that I paid one flat rate for alterations, and had three fittings - but didn't pay any more. The con is that a few weeks after I bought my dress, I found my it at Gigi's of Mequon in Wisconsin for a few hundred dollars cheaper - but I don't know what their prices are for alterations, so being able to zip downtown for a fitting quickly in the morning and the flat rate for alterations probably outweighed the fact that the dress itself was cheaper at Gigi's. I would definitely recommend HoB in Chicago - I was very happy with it from start to finish.

I loved my dress and the bridesmaids dresses that were purchased here! For the most part we had a very good experience. The dresses were purchased here, but only mine was altered there because of the price. My dress had a pretty good fit and didn't need many alterations, but the bustle was super complicated. Donna did a wonderful job with it! The girls that work there are friendly and informative. There was only one who we didn't really care for, but only had to deal with her once. I'm not sure if it was just the way they were sized or if it was the girl doing the measuring, but 4 of my 6 bridemaids needed quite a bit of altering because the dresses were sooo big in certain areas or all over. That was really our only issue. I would really recommend them! Tip: When we were getting my dress, one of the girls mentioned something about getting a dress for less.... so I'm pretty sure that they can discount the wedding dresses to a certain degree. I would do a bit of.. "well.. I really only wanted to spend this much.." before you buy and you may save a bit of money!

House of Brides has 6 locations throughout the US, but have an entire online store which is what I used. They offer brand-name dresses (bridal, flower girl, bridesmaid etc) at prices well-below any bridal shop. My bridesmaids were right out of college and I didn't want them to spend a fortune on a dress they are likely never to wear again. House of Brides allowed me to choose a dress I loved while giving them a decent price that they could afford. They are professional, honest, and quick! I ordered all of the bridesmaids dresses online at the same time for everyone to ensure that they would be from the same dye-lot and had the girls pay be back later. I chose Bari Jay dress #818 which was $129 at HOB while in a bridal store it averaged at $200!! Great deal and is a legit business. Don't be scared to use an online vendor in this case!

I bought both my dress and veil at the House of Brides and for each appointment (including alterations), I felt extremely important and well taken care of. I actually found my dress at a different store, and then found it online on the House of Brides website. They honored the online price, and gave me an accessory credit that helped me purchase my veil. Their selections are wonderful. The alterations department is exceptional.

I had a great time at HOB on Franklin. A friend and I went in just for my dress right after I got engaged, and Vanessa helped me narrow it down to three very different styles. She told me to come back when I had a venue and was sure of my wedding's style. When I came back I tried on all three again, even though I pretty much knew which one I wanted. My friend took tons of pics and Vanessa actually gave her advice on where to stand to get better shots. The three dresses were a wide range of prices and I did not feel pressured to buy the most expensive one at all. (I ended up getting a dress for around $600, which was the midrange of these three). The alterations seem overpriced - $350 flat rate, regardless of how many times you come in - since I only need it taken in about an inch on each side and bustled. Dana, the seamstress, is wonderful however. She clucks over you like a mother hen and is constantly making jokes in her deadpan, heavily accented voice. When I brought my mother to my second fitting (the first time she'd seen me in a wedding dress), Dana kept her laughing so she wouldn't cry. I had to change the dates for my final fitting several times because of various personal events, but I had no problems making a new appointment.

I went to the one in Aurora/Naperville. I was not too pleased with the service. I did like how you can enter your own information and save it in the computer system in the store. I did get my shoes there and everyone loved them! I did not like how they would not do alterations there unless the dress was purchased there. it woudl have saved some time for me.

House of Brides was a fantastic value and everything arrived on time and exactly how we wanted it. We would highly recommend house of brides for bridesmaid dresses--no need to spend money on costly bridal houses for bridesmaid dresses. The customer service was also fantastic!
GUEST

I got my wedding dress from here. I picked a bridesmaid's dress, and had it made in ivory. The value was unbelievable. The best part was the very affordable seamstress associated with HOB. Her name is Dana. I had some parts of the dress tweaked big time - e.g., i removed the back wing-like fabric, had beads added, etc., and she did a great job, on time, and for a whopping $90 TOTAL. Unbeatable if you're not a label freak. The only reason for the less-than 5 stars is, the selection is not quite Vogue-material, but it's good enough, and the sales people are kind of stuck-up. But who cares, I got my dress, which looked beautiful, for under $300.

I went to a few places to look for wedding dresses and House of Brides had the biggest selection. I wanted something different and they had every style imaginable. Because we bought the dress, veil, and my moms dress there we were able to get a little bit of a price break. The only thing that went wrong was when I went to pick up my dress my veil was not with it like we were told it would be. However they did ship it to me free of charge when it arrived.

I just want to note that I am a very easy going, non-confrontational person. Perhaps I would have gotten better results had I started yelling at them but I just kept my cool and waited for the day when I could review them. I had problems with everything except the price. I bought my dress there as well as 8 bridesmaids. My experience was they are sooo nice to you until you purchase the dress. My dress was supposed to be custom made so I could save money on alterations and they added inches to my measurements in what I assume was an attempt to make more money on alterations, my dress came in the wrong color and they told me not to worry about things that do not matter and “you should just be happy someone is marrying you” “you have wrinkles from worrying about things that do not matter” Then they had a veil made in diamond white when my dress was ivory and tried to tell me that it matched. Then when I asked for a refund on the veil it took over 2 months and about 10 phone calls. And, my bridesmaids complained to me that they felt they were rude when they called to put in orders. There is more but you get the point, the experience was miserable. Would I go there again? Never, I am actually bitter that they made so much money off of me.

I bought my dress online at www.houseofbrides.com. I got a DaVinci wedding gown for $449.00 (no tax, no shipping!) that was $699.00 in a bridal shop. The dress came in perfect condition! I ordered it in Oct. and it came in Jan. 08 so you MUST allow plenty of time for shipping however. I'm so glad I ordered it online and saved the money though!

Got a really great deal on a wedding dress from "last season".

Customer Service: I wouldn’t even claim that House of Brides has a customer service department. The majority of times I’ve called their “customer service number” I was given the run around with all their options that never brought me anywhere. If I waited on the line for an actual person I’d be on hold for about 15 minutes until the line would simply just drop. The only times I ever got through to anyone was by trying to trick their system and left messages on random voicemails, not that anyone ever called me back. I once called the number they said not to call about orders and somehow got someone to actually give me information.Time Frame: Both of my bridesmaids ordered from their website and it took MONTHS to get their gowns. My maid of honor I think it took her 5 months to get her dress and one of my other bridesmaid ordered in January and didn’t get her dress until JUNE, weeks before my wedding. This is beyond unnacceptable. It took less time for me to get my wedding gown than it took them to get their bridesmaid gowns. Oh and I must mention that the 2 bridesmaids who ordered through a store, it took 2-3 months for them to get their dresses.Tracking: There is NO option on the website to track your oder as nearly all sites offer. When I ordered our rings online I was immediately able to track the order and besides, it took under 5 days to actually get the rings. If I had known there was no way to track the order online I would never have used the company. A purchase like this is way too important to not be able to track it from order to arrival.Unreliable: If I emailed them most of the time I never got a message back. The only time I would get a message back was when I threatened to contact BBB about their company. Calling usually was a waste of time. I don’t care how busy a company is, you should be able to reach a person to speak with.Oh and also, they have 2 numbers you can call. When you call the 800 number it tells you to call the 603 number. When you then call the 603 number it tells you to — CALL THE 603 NUMBER!!!

I got my dress of the website and paid almost $200 less then I would have in the store. It was a knock off but it looked pretty much the same... just the swirls were a little different. My bride's maids all got their dress from the same website. Sizes were the same except for the neck of the bride's maid's dresses were all way too big so they had to be altered but that wasn't too big of a deal. Awesome quality and shipping was all free!!!

There is lots to do in Chicago, mostly shopping, and we did go to the House of Brides on Franklin Street during my bachelorette weekend there. I made the appointment a few weeks before we were going to be in Chicago. It was okay, I could tell that they were really busy. I wanted to go to a different bridal store than the kind they have in Milwaukee, but I got the impression that they are all almost the same. We were only there for an hour and a half, and the rest of the time we really enjoyed at the hotel and in Chicago.

The HOB has a huge selection of bride and bridesmaid dresses. There was quire a range of price as well.

I have nothing but the highest praise for House of Brides. I bought my wedding dress, bridesmaids' dresses and flowergirl dress from here. All were delivered earlier than the estimates at unbelievable prices. When one of my bridesmaids dropped out with only a month to go, I had to think fast! I chose someone else to take her place who was considerably taller and larger. House of Brides contacted Eden Bridals (where all the dresses had come from) and arranged for them to express ship some extra material and lining so that we could have the original dress extended. Thanks to their quick thinking and fantastic support (along with my wonderful tailor) nobody at the wedding knew that one dress had been remodeled! The initial ordering process worked fine, the delivery was above average, the pricing is excellent and the staff are helpful and know what they're talking about. I recommend them unreservedly.

This place has terrible customer service - we're talking worse than David's Bridal here!
I was told that I would not have to pay a rush fee and I could wait two months to order a flower girl dress. I waited two months and called to order - and they charged me a rush fee anyway!
The store did not call me when the dress came in, I finally called them to make sure that the order had been placed and then they said "Oh, sure, it's here"
When the mother of my flower girl called to set up a fitting the receptionist could not have been more rude to her. Then the receptionist told her that the flower girl could not try the dress on in the store because the floors were too dirty - disgusting!
When they went to pick up the dress - again - receptionist was ignorant and pretty much just gave them the dress and sent them on their way - did not ask if they wanted to schedule a fitting with alterations or anything.
After taking the dress home - they realized the dress had not even been taken out of it's packaging and checked! Plus, it was a wrinkled old mess when it was handed over to them.
I called the store to complain and to let a manager know about the poor service we received. The owner picked up the phone and was just as ignorant and arrogant as the receptionist. She offered no apologies for our terrible experience (except one quick "Sorry for the rude secretary" at the end of the call). She simply made excuses for her staffs behavior and did not offer to make it right. When I told her that her staff had given us incorrect information she replied "What do I do about that?" Well, train your staff to be polite for one!
I have been to SEVERAL bridal shops that are smaller than this one and the associates are attentive, courteous and the fitting rooms are clean. This place is a hot mess from the service to the owner to the receptionists and right down to the disgusting floors. Don't waste your money!

BEWARE OF HOUSE OF BRIDES CHICAGO!!! I am shocked at how my wedding party was treated there. I made the appointment there to look at dresses because I knew that they carried the bridesmaid dress that I wanted. I had brought in an email from another bridal shop with a $60 price difference on the dress and they did price match. However, that was the last bit of good that ever came out of them. They were rude at every encounter after that. I had a bridesmaid who was planning on getting pregnant and wanted to order a larger dress. The women that worked there openly mocked her on the phone and told her she didn't know what she was doing (even though she had worked in a bridal shop before) and eventually made her cry. They told all my other bridesmaids that the dress was very stiff with no give for the size and that they had to order a size up. ALL THE DRESSES WERE HUGE and required MAJOR alterations to be wearable. I ordered an extra size 10 dress just in case my one bridesmaid didn't get pregnant (which she did and the dress size that she made them order when they were insulting her fit). The size 10 had to be used for a bridesmaid that they ordered a 14 long for. It fit off the rack. It took me 3 weeks of calling to get a hold of my "consultant" who kept calling in sick and not returning my phone calls - but I couldn't deal with anyone else. I called to pick up a bridesmaid dress that was paid for, when I was in the neighborhood, and was told that I couldn't because I didn't have an appointment. This was after informing the woman that I lived 3 hours away. I had to hang up and call the manager, Deb, back who I had dealt with when the workers were rude to my pregnant bridesmaid. Deb was good to work with when the workers would actually let you talk to her. DISASTER!!! BEWARE!!!!
GUEST

The only thing that really went wrong was the bridesmaids' dresses. From the get-go, I had problem with House of Brides. Two dressed were ordered in the wrong size, which made the alterations more expensive, and 1 order was never processed so we were scrambling to find a dress a couple weeks before! On top of everything, the women working there were not helpful in the least and no apologies were given. To sum it up, it was added stress not needed.
GUEST

Not the best dress place I went to, but they did have the dress I wanted at the best price. If you have found the dress you want and are looking for the best deal, check them out. I took my alterations somewhere else, so I cannot comment on that.
GUEST

Wonderful dress and fairly good service. Sometimes it was difficult to get a straight answer or there would be a mistake with our discount, but everything was cleared up! Great discount on accessories if you buy a dress there.
GUEST

I ordered my dress online, so I was a little concerned about not being able to try it on. It fit perfectly (thankfully!) :) They took longer than I expected to ship the dress, but I couldn't complain b/c the shipping was free. Something to be aware of is their return policy-- which changed after I had placed my order-- they DO NOT take returns.
GUEST

It took almost 5 months for my dresses to come. By the time my dress arrived, the wedding was only 3 weeks away, and the top of my dress was constructed really poorly. Even with 2 rounds of alterations, we couldn't get the top to fit right, and I spent the whole reception trying to make sure my tatas didn't pop out.
GUEST

loved my bridesmaid dresses had sooooooooooooo many dresses to pick from, I found the perfect dresses that fit my wedding! they were unique and different and so many people were so impressed with them. They were awesome. It's a big company so you have to stay on top of everything. Get your orders in quickly! had couple issues with sizes being way off and some of my bridesmaids had to get them taken in a whole bunch.

I bought my bridesmaids' dresses and ordered them from House of Brides. I was so pleased with their service. I saved $50 on each dress. Shipping only took a few weeks. Website measurements ran true to size.

My salesperson's name is Jackie, and she was absolutely amazing. The people who work here are very busy, so there were a few things that I had to call a couple of times about, but they certainly got things done. I also worked with Dana, their seamstress, who did an amazing job with my dress, and a rather complicated bustle. Everyone was so willing to work with me, even when it came to adding an extra element to my gown (a detail I had seen on a different gown that I wanted on mine), and they even ordered the half-yard of fabric they would need at no charge to me. I will say, however, that this is the HOB 'couture' store, so they are pricier than some other options (or even other Chicago-area HOB stores). The alterations were rather expensive, they charge a flat-fee for all needed alterations, so the $325 was a bit much when all I needed was the skirt (many many layers) hemmed and the bustle done. However, I think it would be a more average price if I had needed alterations in the bodice as well, and they are willing to let you buy the gown and have your alterations done elsewhere, also, if you know of a place that will do it. Overall, a fantastic experience.

They are very hard to work with and not willing to be flexible. But, they are cheap. Just scary to go with....

House of Brides was wonderful. All my bridesmaids ordered their dresses here (I also order one for myself for the honeymoon) and everyone received their dresses ahead of schedule. We each saved about $200 and had gorgeous gowns to show for it. I highly recommend them!

Arrived on time for my appointment, I was told to register. Once I finished I figured I'd sit and wait. And that's exactly what I did for the next 30 minutes. There were 2 ladies behind the desk who never bothered to (a) find my consultant or (b) apologize for my wait. Once I finally did approach the desk to tell them I had other appts I needed to get to, I received a fake apology and was told my consultant would be with me shortly. My consultant did show up, brought me and my guests back to the dressing room. The rooms as decent, seating for guests, mirror and pedestal. Outside of the rooms there is a 3 way mirror and pedestal. She was nice and apologized for my wait, and explained she was with a first time dress hunter and it took longer than expected. I thought that's great and all, but I should've been made aware of this when I first arrived and given the choice to work with another consultant. She began to inquire on the type of dresses that I wanted to try and brought back 3 dresses. Only 1 somewhat looked like what I had requested. I further explained what I was looking for and she went and pulled 3 more dresses. They were beautiful. My friends were taking pictures, but I was told by another consultant that it wasn't allowed for some dresses. After trying on about 5 dresses, I had to go to another appointment. So I picked out my favorite 3, my consultant said she'd write them down and invited me to come back. Overall they are an average salon with a nice selection of dresses with prices to fit any budget. Just don't expect anymore than that.

I used House of Brides Couture downtown for my wedding gown, bridesmaids gowns, and my alterations. I had a wonderful experience. Chyrel was my consultant and she was great. She was extremely patient and she encouraged me to try on multiple types of dresses on my visit so I could determine what would look best on my body type. If you are going to go, I would request an appointment with her since the feedback overall with the vendor seems to be mixed.I can't remember the alterations lady's name, but she is really really good.

My dress arrived in less than one month. They had the lowest price for my dress out of all bridal dress vendors. It was delivered with great care.

This is the least expensive place I was able to find bridesmaid dresses from several different brands. You can try the dresses on at a local shop and then buy them here for cheaper. The customer service is terrible, however.

I had my heart set on a dress I found at a local shop for $1,200. House of Brides shipped it in a very timely manner for only $500.

I got my dress from House of Brides with a matching wrap for $300 and no shipping cost. I also got all of my bridesmaids dresses from there as well and they came with a free wrap too. They have every dress imaginable for a cheaper price. To make sure I liked my dress, I went to a local vendor and tried it on first before buying.

I love the wedding dress I picked out at the House of Brides. They have a good selection and the staff was very helpful. I was there by myself to try on dresses before deciding and the saleswoman kept checking to see if I needed help with the dresses. I picked out my dress months before the wedding and was not concerned that it wouldn't be ready in time. The fittings and alterations took a while, though, so much that I was getting concerned that it was nearing "show time" and my dress was still not ready. I needed to contact them a few times to make sure the alterations would be complete in time and went in for my final fitting. Even though it needed more altering, I got nervous and decided to forego additional alterations, although they assured me it would be ready. It was but I noticed during my wedding day, that it still dragged on the floor quite a bit for me. If you use this vendor, push them to have all alteration done in plenty of time (get it in writing). I'm happy with my dress but I was a little nervous on my day and had to hold it up a few times in order not to trip and fall.

Took forever to hem and take in the dress. When the dress was picked up it still wasn't done one week before the wedding. However, the dress was gorgeous and inexspensive.
