Reviews for Hustle & Bustle Wedding Day Coordination
Just to think I was so close to not hiring a DOC and my wedding could have been a crazy, stressful mess. Theresa was the best investment I made for my wedding and the nicest thing I did for myself. She was so on top of EVERYTHING and allowed me to enjoy the day without worrying about the small details. Here are just a few things she did on my wedding day:
- She arranged my DIY centerpieces, frames with the table names, and champagne flutes on all the guests tables beautifully.
- The way she set up the entry way was better than I could have done myself. The placements of the gift table, escort card table, and my photo booth were all perfect. She really had an eye for how these things should look.
- Okay, my caterer was a pain and a tacky pain too! He had one of his waiter spread out their catering business cards on EVERY guest table during set up. I nearly had a heart attack when I saw it. I just kept saying, “Seriously, who does that??!!!!” Luckily, Theresa stepped in, talked to the caterer, and had the business cards removed (despite a little fit from my caterer). Theresa saved me from some major embarrassment and I am so thankful!
- She did an amazing job keeping everyone in the loop with what is happening and on track with the timeline.
- Theresa actually started loading presents into the car before the wedding was over; my family barely had to do anything. My Uncle was so impressed by her work ethic and professionalisms, he thought she was fantastic!
Beyond kicking butt on my wedding day, Theresa was simply the nicest person to work with in the weeks leading up to my wedding. She checked in with me periodically to make sure I was fine/not too frazzled. She called and made arrangements with some of my vendors, and answered my e-mails the same day (if not within an hour of me sending it) -- This was seriously a HUGE plus!!! I had vendors who did not return my e-mails for weeks!! Theresa was so good at e-mailing and calling me back and I love her for it! I think most brides out there know how frustrating it is to have to wait days/weeks for a vendor. Theresa will be there for you!! :o) Hiring Theresa to be my DOC was a very smart decision and I would recommend her to anyone!
Wow!! This is all I have to say. I was under the impression I have thought of everything as far as the details of my wedding is concerned. Well, I was wrong. Theresa has brought up at least a dozen things I realized I neglected. I am very impressed and very grateful to have a coordinator who is so on top of things. Whenever I call or email her, I feel like I am conversing with an old friend. It is very comforting to know I am in good hands.
I just booked Theresa from Hustle & Bustle today! After reading the reviews on here I decided it was definitely worth looking into. In my gut, I know this is the perfect selection. My fiance and I were impressed with her portfolio. Theresa is super friendly and knows exactly what I need for my wedding. It was comforting to hear from her my concerns and worries are normal and she has been through it all before. I originally thought a DOC was not going to be in the budget and considered a luxury. Now, I realize it is most likely a necessity. Whooo...I feel so happy knowing this will all come together and my hard work will pay off!
Extremely professional, punctual, dedicated, and fun!! I was referred to Hustle and Bustle by a friend. We feel Theresa is a real advocate for her brides! I know my wedding is in good hands! Thank-you! Highly recommended!
so far i have nothing but praises. theresa has made me planning a wedding a lot easier. i don't have to get into fights with my mom, or his mom or my sisters; she is taking care of all of the details that no one really wants to do when they are a guest at a wedding, but would because they are my family. she has helped me not be the bridezilla i feared that maybe i could be. i wanted to plan my own wedding, but wanted someone else to worry if the flower girl has enough petals and when to pay the caterer and when to cut off my drunk uncle.
Teresa from Hustle & Bustle is so completely helpful. I am elated to have found her to be my DOC! Just thinking about all the things that need to be done during my wedding is daunting and knowing that I am probably forgetting some details frights me! I am so relieved Teresa will be there and I have not felt this relaxed in months! I am feeling super excited to just be there and not have to worry about anything and that nervous feeling has finally gone away....for now, lol. I truly recommend booking a coordinator from Hustle & Bustle!
Thank goodness we had Theresa to work with us for the day of our wedding and rehearsal. She is completely on top of everything and is a pleasure to work with. Although she specializes in day of coordination, she started working with us months before the wedding. I appreciate that she would check in with me to make sure everything was going ok. She met with us a couple of times before the wedding, and then really took charge the week before the wedding. It was so nice to be able to hand all of the vendor details and timeline off to her. In the end, I had a completely amazing, stress-free day - thanks to Theresa!
Our wedding isn't until next summer but Theresa has been anything but splendid on getting back to me regarding my clueless planning questions. She even checks in as a friendly reminder to plan for this shindig. Knowing that she's helping out with the DOC has lightened my load immeasurably.
Deserves a 25 star rating! I just want to take the time to thank some key players who contributed to my spectacular wedding. Theresa, from Hustle and Bustle, is definitely one of those players. I live in Boston and got married on the other side of the country. It turned out to be a pretty daunting ordeal, planning my wedding from so far away. Theresa welcomed us with open arms and once we arrived, the week of our wedding, we were able to relax and actually feel like we were on vacation while on the brink of a life changing experience. I know how important booking the right DOC is. Our experience could have very easily been a stress filled nightmare, scrambling to get everything in place at the last minute. I am so grateful I found someone else I trusted took care of all those details while I got my nails done and went to the spa with my girls. I am still on cloud 9! Thanks for everything, Theresa! I will definitely give you a call the next time I'm in town!
Hustle & Bustle....wedding day coordination was a God send. I had done the majority of the planning for my wedding myself. I decided I wanted to enjoy my day and not have to worry about anything. I was able to get Theresa, and she did a wonderful job handling all the days events. I got to enjoy my day and be stress free. Thank you Theresa and Hustle & Bustle.
Hustle & Bustle in one word is perfect. The professionalism, attention the detail, and overall kindness made this special day as nice as possible. I'd recommend this service to anyone that is getting married.
Actually, my parents discovered 'Hustle & Bustle'. Ron and I were a bit reluctant to hire a wedding coordinator because it was coming out of our pockets. Though, I knew our parents were worried they would be scrambling around arranging everything at the wedding when, really, they were hoping to be able to relax and basque in the glow of their babies getting married.
After meeting Theresa, the owner, I decided 'Hustle & Bustle' would be an excellent addition to our event. As the wedding approached I realized there were many things that needed to be tackled on the actual day while I would be busy taking pictures or getting ready( or just not want to be seen doing). I understood why my parents were so insistent on hiring help.
I really want to express my sincere thanks to Theresa! There were a couple times my nerves got the best of me and she was there for us like a solid rock. I really felt like she would do anything to ensure our happiness. I'm so lucky to be able to look back on my wedding and truly say it was perfect!
Hiring Hustle & Bustle to coordinate your wedding is the best idea you can make!! Who knew a get-together with close family and friends could require such work? Throughout my wedding day, I realized how grateful I was for having Theresa there. She arrived at my hotel suite early in the morning and kept all the hair and make-up people, photographer, videographer, bridal party, hotel staff, and family in the loop. Even though there were about 20 people crammed in my suite, she kept the morning from becoming chaotic, even running out to get us Coffee Bean! That morning, before my wedding, was the most excited I have ever been in my life. The anticipation of the ceremony, reception, seeing all my guests, and most of all finally seeing my groom, gave me the worst (best) case of butterflies I've ever experienced! Of course, the wedding was absolutely perfect and so much fun! I just wanted to describe the morning-of because it was so memorable and full of laughs. I believe, if you start out on the wrong foot, your wedding could be disasterous. IF you start out with a fabulous morning, relaxed and assured your day is in good hands, everything else the day reveals will flow beautifully! I cannot express my gratitude and appreciation to Theresa from Hustle & Bustle enough!
OH, and my intricate French bustle was tied up perfectly!
Theresa is GREAT! At first I was skepitcal about hiring a "Day of Planner" but in the end I was so glad I had Theresa! She helped me with anything and everything I needed help with. She made our day "Our Day". We didn't have to worry about anything. She took care of it all so we could just relax and enjoy. She took care of details like setting up our venues all the way down to little details like having our glasses full all night!
I got alot of compliments on her from guests and vendors. All my other vendors commented on how GREAT she was to work with. They said she was the best they have seen. Her attitude was great. She was very professional.
I guess the only thing to say is she was very kind, caring and attentive. She really made our day meomorable. I am so glad I had her there. It wouldn't have gone as well without her! If you want the best she is it!! Thank you so much Theresa!!
I had the pleasure to work with Theresa last weekend at the new Terannea Resort in Palos Verdes. As a professional wedding disc jockey , I have worked with many wedding coordinators over the years and I must say Theresa was the most organized, the most prepared and more importantly she made me feel that we were part of a team- and we were. Our wedding was flawless and so much fun !!! I highly recommend Theresa of Hustle and Bustle Wedding Day Coordination and I can't wait to work with her again. Thank you for being so professional and so easy to work with.

I met with Theresa from Hustle and Bustle yesterday and she was amazing! She's incredibly organized, supportive and really knows her stuff.
Initially, I wasn't sure whether or not I need a coordinator, but as the date gets closer, I'm finding that I'm more and more overwhelmed with the details. Theresa has put my mind at ease on several fronts and I feel like a great deal of stress has lifted now that she's on board.
I highly recommend!
I was very reluctant to hire a wedding coordinator but realized I didn't want to put my bridal party through the hassle of doing a lot of running around the day of the wedding (I really wanted them to enjoy themselves). I found Hustle & Bustle online and loved the website so much that I immediately called Theresa, the owner of H&B. She was so sweet on the phone so we arranged to meet the following week. I'm a stickler for punctuality so I was very happy when she arrived right on time. She came prepared with a list of questions but didn't bombard me with a lot of information. I was so impressed with her demeanor and professionalism that I hired her on the spot to be my day of coordinator.
Theresa and her assistant were amazing the day of the wedding! They came very early and with tons of enthusiasm. I felt so relaxed that day and I honestly believe it was because Theresa jumped right in and took control. I didn't have to worry about A THING. They helped the venue with set up (which they really didn't have to do but did anyway) and were extremely organized. During the reception, I think Theresa came to me with one question the entire night. The timeline was pretty much perfect - things were definitely on time. She loaded my car up with all the gifts, extra cake, and anything else that belonged to me and/or the bridal party at the end of the night. She went to the florist the next day to return some votives I had agreed to return and didn't complain when it turned out they were closed the next day.
I can recommend Theresa without any hesitation. Not only is she efficient, organized and highly professional, she is one of the sweetest people you will ever meet. I am so grateful for all she did to make my wedding day one of the best nights of my life. You will not be disappointed if you hire her! :-)
Theresa from Hustle & Bustle saved the day!!! She was really a saint. She was so calming and really helped the day move smoothly. Crazy family all around trying to help out and Theresa just stepped right in and took control with out stepping on anyone's toes. It was such a pleasure having her around, I didnt have to worry about a thing. Many cheers go to Theresa and many thanks!
Hi Theresa,
I just wanted to write you a quick email thanking you for making everything absolutely wonderful! It was the best night of my life and you definitely captured my dream! Seriously, Theresa, I can't thank you enough for not missing one detail and doing it all so calm, cool and collected. You were the best coordinator I could have picked and I am forever grateful to you!
Thank you so much! Words can't begin to express how much I appreciate all of yours and Ryann's hard work. You ladies were absolutely amazing and you have definitely gone into the right business. Trust me, if you are still doing Hustle and Bustle around here when Katie gets married (or anyone I know, for that matter), you will come with the HIGHEST recommendation I could ever give. Thank you for everything!!!!!!!!!
Take care,
Carrie
I asked Theresa if I could be one of her testimonials! I was just so impressed with her work ethic, along with her calming personality. I was one of those frazzled brides before the wedding, I admit it. Theresa took great care of everything and I cannot imagine my wedding being as perfect as it was without her. My two best friends have already booked her for their weddings! They were my matron and maid of honor at my wedding and they witnessed first hand how important it is to have the right DOC. Even my husband was blown away with the helpfulness of Hustle & Bustle! That says a lot because he is as stubborn as they come.
Thanks, Theresa!

Having a wedding planner was not in the budget. Planning a wedding was nothing I had ever thought about before. After hearing about Hustle & Bustle, the light bulb went off and the equation was complete. They were there for me when I had questions to be answered and helped finalize the little details I didn’t want to worry about. Theresa was also there to make my flower girl’s dress when I had no idea what I wanted it to look like; after seeing our vision of the wedding, she made the sweetest little dress to compliment the rest of the bridal party. Literally, Hustle & Bustle made my wedding day a reality.
You’re the best,

You hope that your wedding will be perfect and our’s was just that; perfect! You wouldn’t believe the nerves we had going into that week. Luckily, as a wedding gift, my dad hired Hustle and Bustle for the wedding day. Seriously, if it wasn’t for Theresa’s hard work that day, I’m sure it would not have gone so well. She really hustled and bustled! We had one scary situation. The limo company guaranteed us two limos for the day. They assured us it would be no problem. But on the day of my wedding they sent me a limo and an SUV. We were horrified. They weren’t even the same color! But wow, it gave us a chance to see Theresa go to work on her cell. Within 40 minutes we had our second limo. It turned out to be the happiest day of our lives. Thanks, Theresa!

Hi Theresa,
I hope that your doing well and that this fall wedding season is keeping you busy. I wanted to just say thank you for all of your help during the planning of our wedding and especially on our wedding day. I really don't think I could have gotten through the day without your help. The reception looked beautiful and we got so many compliments on the heart shape patron bottle table. Thank you for helping me keep my sanity and for making sure that no one got to the cupcakes before Lee and I had a chance to take some pictures.
Thank you again and I hope see you soon!
Love,
Claudia Franck
As far as wedding coordinators go, Theresa from Hustle & Bustle is the best of the best. It probably takes enormous amounts of patience, creativity, and stanima to pull off what she can pull off. I was deeply impressed with her talent and the skillful ways she approached unique aspects of my event. I was informed, after the fact, that a certain vendor threatened to leave before the reception was over and Theresa went out of her way to successfully handle the situation without me having a clue. She did not want to have anything spoil a second of my day! Though it seems minor now, I will forever be grateful for my DOC. Booking Hustle & Bustle was easily one of the best decisions I made during the tedious wedding planning process. I honestly don't think my wedding would have been as perfect as it was without Theresa as my coordinator!
I was naïve to believe that my husband and I were capable of handling our wedding preparations on our own. My husband grew frustrated very quickly and lost interest; and I felt the whole weight of what we were about to do was placed on my shoulders. My stress levels were growing at a constant rate the weeks leading to our wedding day. The situation was not good. Through one of my girlfriends I heard about Hustle and Bustle. I was informed that there was somebody that could help me get through all of my needs the day of the wedding. My girlfriend was right.
The day of my wedding went by without a single hitch. Everything was done perfectly, and all I really had to do was show up to my wedding. That is the way it should be. I went from being in a state of panic to being in a state of perfect bliss. I can’t thank them enough! ~ Laurie Hughes
I had always hoped that my wedding would be the most memorable day of my life, and it was. All I wanted to do that day was to enjoy getting my hair and make-up done and simply getting married. After meeting with Theresa the first time, I knew that I would have the dream wedding where all of the details and timing were done for me. Her hands on approach allowed me to not worry if the ring bearer would walk down at the right time or if he would forget the pillow of rings, instead I stood there nervously waiting until I was told to walk down the aisle to the man of my dreams.
Thank you,
Erica Stoney
About Hustle & Bustle Wedding Day Coordination
That’s exactly what we do!
As wedding day coordinators, our duty is to put all the elements and details into place so our clients' wedding day plays out exactly how they dreamt it would! We take the pressure off the bride and groom so they can focus solely on the joy of getting married. Our clients tend to be brides who want to be in control of the wedding planning process but not have to handle all the details, on the day of the event. That is where we step in, from orchestrating the dress rehearsal to tying up the bustle!
Why would a perfectly capable, savvy, and stylish bride or groom, need our help? They would benefit from our experience and expertise, with wedding day coordination, because we give them the peace of mind all their ideas will shine through. On the day of their wedding, the couple has the luxury of not having to manage and organize all the tasks (and people) a wedding involves. If a situation occurs, as they often do, we take care of it, ensuring the guests never find out. The stars of the day do not want to worry about tipping the help, dressing up their honeymoon suite, or passing out the bouquets and boutonnieres. With us, the couple merely has to show up to their wedding! Let us take care of the rest. Think of your Day Of Coordinator as your long, lost best friend who has only your best interest in mind. Then, you can let your bridal party off the hook and they can truly enjoy themselves with little, to no, responsibilities. Although, they better have a fabulous toast.
We are based in Los Angeles and design weddings located from San Diego to Santa Barbara, including Southern California destination weddings for out-of-towners!

Oh, Fudge!
(photo from Buzzle.com)Recently, I was thinking about making some fudge for my family.
After doing a bit of research, I was shocked to learn how easy it really is to make!
I was also surprised at the unlimited number of flavors to make.
Which got me thinking...why not a fudge bar at your reception? We all know candy buffets are still in high demand. Let's just give it a decadent, fun twist! Your guests still get that “kid in the candy store” excited feeling but a fudge buffet is a little bit more unique...and more filling, which saves you $!
For all you DIY-ers, this is perfect. Even if you are not a “do it yourself’ nut, this fudge table could be a great starter project for you. It is pretty simple & very impressive! It's also inexpensive, & if you mess up on the presentation, just leave the ugly pieces at home to indulge on later.
Before, I thought fudge came in about 3 flavors, chocolate (of course), vanilla, and what not. But, NO, fudge can be made in just about every flavor under the sun (cheesecake, candy corn, bubble gum, RUM!)!
If you are not into a whole table full of fudge, a homemade piece of fudge wrapped in fabric, box, or paper that coordinates with your wedding décor is a terrific favor. Again, this is a super easy project that would be super appreciated by your guests.

If you are just not at all interested in making homemade fudge, here is a link to a neat company that makes fudge. They also make darling favors. The prices are great & you can opt to get the candies wrapped or not. At least, visit this site just to check out all the possible flavors! It’s truly impressive!

Whoa, it's been a while!
It is November! 2010 is almost here! October gave me 4 weddings & 5 new brides for next year. I am thrilled! Thank you!
I definitely need to post fall weddings on here. I will surely work on that.
Downtown!
Gotta Love it!
The wedding magazine, The Knot Southern California, recently asked me to give them some info regarding LA's fashion district. They wanted to know how people who are in the middle of planning their wedding could benefit from shopping downtown. I thought I'd share with you wonderful blog readers what I shared with them.
There are a couple of benefits to shopping downtown:
1. Nostalgia, you may not, but I get a sense of wow, I am in the heart of it all.
2. Prices, competition is stiff from door to door. Plus, the prices are unbeatable to chain stores in town. Here is where the chain stores obtain their merchandise & jack up the prices to pay for their lighting, employees, marketing, etc…
3. Variety- It would take weeks to explore every nook & cranny. Your selection is limitless; it’s a little unsettling for me to think that because I like to see all my options before making a purchase, lol.
4. It really is a small community. During my second visit, most store owners & employees remembered my face. That is astonishing; I’m not a huge spender either. Now I bring my daughter with me & they all know her. Fabric, notions, what not, this industry is these peoples’ lives. They are not a kid forced to be at their after school job. At first, a few may be a little brash because they want a big sale. Just open up & ask a question & 99% of the workers will be incredibly helpful, resourceful, insightful & even send you to a competitor to help you find what you are in search for.
Tips:
Parking: I never pay for parking. Yes, there are a zillion lots & sometimes you’re lucky to find a meter (if you have the change) or a friendly homeless person who will trigger the meter for you with his paper clip. The best place to park is on the east side of
Negotiate!: Don’t ever settle on the first price a merchant quotes you. Tell him what you want to pay (within reason). If he says no, walk out. 9 times out of 10 he/she will follow you & agree on your price. They most likely want your business more than you want that item.
Restrooms: It never fails, I park my car, begin my trek (usually with my child in tow) & I realize I must find a restroom. Let’s be real, the bathrooms at these shops are old & scary. Here is what to do- Go to the California Mart. It is impossible to miss. The mart is takes up a block from 9th to Olympic & Los Angeles St. to
Bring a list: This sounds juvenile but I’m telling you, it is so easy to get side tracked. There is so much to look at. New ideas constantly pop into your mind. “I know I can find a use for this!” will play repeat in your head.
Over view:
When referring to shopping in the district, most people mention Michael Levine’s. These people are not really in the know. Michael Levine is, by far, the most popular store. I mean, it has everything but it’s also the most expensive place. It is basically a Joanne’s times 10. I visit there as a last resort.
The fashion District is a rectangle: 9th & Olympic make up the long sides & Main & San Julian being the short sides. Besides, 9th & Olympic, the only cross streets you need, for material & notion shopping, are Wall & Maple. All the other streets are either for apparel shopping, furniture fabric, or people in the fashion design & production industry. Actually, the district is more of a square. Be sure to visit the cross streets North, past 9th for trims & to make your way to the flower mart.
For wedding purposes, Olympic Blvd. is where you will find all your flower girl & ring bearer needs. These shops carry adorable dresses & suits along with the essentials like pillows, flower baskets, parasols. You name it. One store particularly stands out, La Bella by Carmen Creation. The styles featured here Victorian inspired. The apparel & accessories are just darling, very one of a kind. Also along 10th, you can find amazing deals on bird cages, cake sets, stands, champagne flutes, & other misc. items.
Trims, trims, ....& more trims!!
Most stores will special order any color you need if you are ordering a significant amount. My favorite fabric shops for higher end goods are Tex Carmel & Fabrics & Fabrics. At
As for trims & notions, most of those merchants are located on
Three doors down from Levy’s, is L.A. Linen Lacey’s Fabrics. This is the place to go to for table linens, chair covers, sashes, overlays, table runners, table skirts & napkins! Any style you imagine & any color you crave, they have it & with a very nice price tag. Lacey’s has embroidered or beaded organza, crepe back or shiny satins, pin tucked or pin cushioned taffeta's, the list goes on! It’s a great “go-to” place. I love their slogan, “yes, everything is possible. The impossible just takes a bit longer and cost more to make”.
I believe this is a good start for the

BTW, this article will be in the upcoming Spring/Summer 2010 issue. I'm not sure what (if any) info they will use of mine, but I'm excited because I think one of the weddings I coordinated will be featured!Terranea Resort, OH MY!

WOW.....that is really what pops into my mind when I reflect on the wedding I recently helped with at the STUNNING Terranea Resort in Palos Verdes.
Hopefully, I will obtain pictures of the actual wedding to share because the bride & groom were the spitting image of perfection, themselves.
Anyhow, I am writing this particular post to inform you on the breathtaking resort right here, in our neck of the woods.
The first time I encountered Terranea was for the routine walk-through prior to the main event (the wedding). It was not yet open to the public so it was a real treat to explore the grounds with my clients & Leslie, Terranea's event manager. The drive to Terranea, alone, was awe inspiring & leisurely. However, once inside it's magical captivity, I couldn't help but feel I was in a far, far away paradise land, thousands of miles from LA.
At the wedding, I couldn't help but mention to Leslie, "working here is like being on vacation". It sounds strange, I know, given that we are a few short miles from the city.
The bottom line is. If you are in search of a wedding (ceremony & reception) venue & you like the idea of a destination wedding but want to remain local, you may want to pay a visit to Terranea Resort. Even though, the resort has been open just a couple months, the staff appears & acts like it has been around for years.
I guess I should mention a couple details pertaining to wedding-related interests. They offer a few linen options that happen to be gorgeous. The food is fabulous. There are plenty of staff to escort guests & keep nosy hotel guests away. If you have any questions, feel free to shoot them at me. :)
