I too have a horror story about Andre Gant. He did fulfill most of my order. I did receive my bridal portraits, engagement photos, enlarged prints and the printable DVD proofs. However, I still have not received my wedding album. Which of course, seems to be a recurring theme. The album is over a $1000. He will not return phone calls or emails. I have tried to be understanding and patient. But enough is enough. I would love to have a class action lawsuit against him. He is very talented, but a liar and a thief.
I am also extreamly heart broken about the service that Andre provided. Andre's wife was our wedding planner and we switch photographers because of how great he was presented. And he was until after the wedding when I haven't heard from him since. All I want is a disc of my pictures. I don't care if they are retouched, I just want my memories back. Please contact me if you are going to file a suit and I can help. Or, Andre, if you read these. Just give us our pictures please. You have taken something that can never be replaced.
I got married this past December in San Antonio and I am extremely dissapointed with the Service of Andre Gant. He doesn't communication and he has just recently got divorced I am told by his wife and we were promised these pictures 4 months ago. He was late to the engagement photos and we didn't get the engagement photo nor the bridal picture until ten minutes before I was up on the alter. I am currently seeking legal action against Mr. Gant and I would love to also join in a Class action lawsuit. Let me know if any action can be taken. My email is firstname.lastname@example.org.
I'm so glad I saw these reviews. All of them are similar to my situation. I thought I was the only one. What a scam artist! In my situation my fiance and I paid about $4700 to Andre total. My fiance and I broke up and never got married. Its been way over a year since we've notified Andre AND we gave him almost a years notice that we wern't getting married. When we told him he said we were only going to get back less that $1000 of what we paid, but we could use it as a credit for family photos or something. And to top it off he was going to pay that money to us in payments over a 6 month period! I have yet to see a payment! Like the rest of you, I have emailed him, called him and left messaged but never hear back. I would love to join in on a class action suit. At this point nother would make me happier.
All appeared to be well during the engagement and bridal shoots. He showed up on time to the wedding. He posted the photos online two days after the wedding. However, I did not hear from him until 10 weeks after my wedding. I had been sending emails, calling and text messaging but never got a response. He did answer two days before Thanksgiving and stated that he was going to get with me about designing my wedding album by the first week of December. Never heard from him until March 20, 2008, the week my baby was to be delivered..... He left a message and sent an email saying he was sending the printable photo discs! Haven't heard anything from the scam since!! Very talented photographer, horrible follow-thru and professionalism. It sucks that he waits until after the photos are taken to scam people. Its a tease because I've seen them but have none in my possession. And yes, he is very serious about collecting his money.
Our wedding was almost a year ago. We have not received our engagement documentary, bridal album, wedding album, printable proofs, dvds, etc. We have attempted to contact Mr. (Sai'en) Andre D. Gant on several occasions to no avail. I have mailed several certified and notarized letters with no response and finally contacted the BBB. I am currently filing a justice suit against Mr. Gant, requesting the contracted items we have paid him in full for along with breach of contract fees.
To be an amazing photographer he has horrible business practices. If anyone has any other suggestions on how to move forward to receive our goods, it would be greatly appreciated.
I hired Andre for my daughter's wedding in May 2006. Since that time we have received absolutely nothing. I have bugged Andre and received empty promises. Andre dropped out of sight for a long while, changed his name and did everything he could to avoid sending what we paid for. We also hired a videographer (NOT Andre!) who had trouble delivering anything because Andre did not provide the stills to her. Like everyone else, we paid Andre up front.
My daughter is crushed and I'm completely frustrated. This man needs to be in prison!
In late January 2008 I received an email saying that the CD with pics would be in the mail the following Wednesday. He never mentioned a thing about the wedding book, portraits or anything else. Guess what? It's mid-February and still nothing. I went to www.artographystudio.net and you can't even login.
If anybody out there is filing a lawsuit and would like others to join in (expenses, etc.) I'm there. Please leave a note on this website with instructions on how to contact you.
We were married April 28th 2007, in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Andre Gant is full of false promises and lies. He has basically stolen a little more than $6,300 from my husband and I. He his very quick to make us pay and collect to change our wedding date and I also ordered an additional leather album for my ill Grandmother, he immediately collected my money and cashed it the same day, but I still have yet to receive this album or anything else that had been paid for! I did take Andre and his now ex-wife to small claims court, but as you would expect he did not show up but his now ex-wife did. The Judge ruled in my favor for them to pay me what I am owed, but I am pretty sure we will not be able to find him at this point since he has been in hiding and skipping town lately. DO NOT USE THIS MAN!!!! I would be interrested in a class action law suit as well!
I can start by saying that Andre is terrible. He is so quick to take your money and make promises that he can't keep. However, when you try to contact him you get no response. He was rude during my bridal picutres and even tried send someone else to the wedding to take the pics and I was not having that. You don't pay someone so much money to send an assistant. He didn't post our pictures on line on the date he promised to our guests and I had to keep bothering him to finally get to see our wedding pictures. After making our selections and sending them, I never heard from the man again. I finally decided to hire a lawyer and after 8 months and a very expensive lawyer bill... I received 1 of the 6 albums that we ordered and paid for. I am still trying to collect everything else we paid and signed a contract for, but am not having any luck. It is sad that there is this many of us having the same problem. He is basically a theif. If anyone moves forward with a class action law suit, I am interested.
WOW...I have been looking for this guy for many, many months. We paid well over 4,000 for my daughters wedding...he showed up for everything on time...except for the wedding. He had to send one of his associates for the wedding. all the pictures looked good, but never, ever got the disks, the albums or anything else that was paid for. I figured he had gotten divorced, but did not know for sure...We are going to press on with legal avenues through the SA courts, looks like it may a bunch of us...hopefully we will be able to track him down and get him to get everyone their money and their goods...
In the beginning, I would have recommended Andre Gant. My wedding was in March of 2007. At this point the only pictures I have from my wedding are a few that family shot. I called his wife last week because his phone is disconnected and his emails are being returned to me. She has no working phone number for him and I'm devastated. If someone finds him, please let me know. I would settle with a cd with my pictures at this point!
Our wedding was over nine months ago and the photographer, (Sai-en) Andre D. Gant has not provided our engagement album, bridal album, or wedding album. After letting him know we were going to bring this matter to an attorney he finally mailed us a DVD with all the photos from the wedding only. At this point we have received a fraction of the deliverables we have paid for and the photographer will not return our calls or emails and forced us to hire an attorney to server him with a DTPA letter (Deceptive Trade Practices Consumer Proctection Act). Since our wedding the photographer, (Sai-en) Andre D. Gant has changed his studio name from Immaculate Imagery to I.I. Studio to Artography Studio. The Better Business Bureau has revoked his membership. You can also check the Bexar County Public records to verify his assumed names (doing business as or dba) records.

I am shocked! For so long I have looked for stuff on Andre Gant, but haven't found it until now. Mine is pretty much the same story. Married March 2007, we changed our photographer to Andre because he is one hell of a salesman and he does do amazing photography, BUT it is not worth it. We made a huge mistake with this guy. It took 7 months to get un-retouched 4x6 prints from my wedding and a disk with all the photos from the wedding. Walgreens can print them and make a disk in an hour, so I'm not sure what the 7 month hold up was.
He was impossible to get in touch with AFTER we had paid our money. It took me a month to track him down to schedule a bridal shoot, and then he complained that I was rushing him to get the bridal portrait printed! He did show up on time to the wedding and brought an assistant, but left before the dancing was even over, so we had no departure photos.
To get the pictures I had to call Tiffani, his then wife, apparently they are divorced now, and SHE handled it for me.
Totally unprofessional and not worth the headache. His websites are up one day and down the next, and always changing names. Very shady. I am lucky to have gotten something. I am so sorry for those that did not. Go with someone else.
Hello, I'm so glad that we noticed these reviews today because we have a similar horror story. My wife and I contracted Andre Gant for our wedding in San Antonio a year and a half ago. After delaying for almost a year, being totally unresponsive, and after a BBB complaint, Andre sent us unmarked DVDs of our digital photos (the only thing we have). We kept asking for our money back since we had a feeling he was not going to deliver the final product, but he was rude and declined to address the issue. Finally, he did not deliver the Flush Album (worth $1000) we were due and has since skipped town and from the looks of it, went out of the wedding photography business. My wife and I live in Virginia, so we haven't been able to figure out what kind of action we can take against him to get our money back. I would love to get in on a class action suit against this guy.
My husband and I booked Andre through his now ex-wife. Andre promised so much and really sounded like he was the best one for the wedding. His packages sounded great and his work was excellent. He was quick with the engagement and bridal shoots but did not get the pictures to me until the day of my wedding! The bridal portrait was framed with a cheap frame that you cannot hang and looked awful with the portrait. He failed to have the engagement photos done and framed in time for the rehearsal dinner. I looked at them as I was getting in my wedding dress! The day of the wedding he was late by like 2 hours! I did not get any pictures of me getting my hair and makeup done and I was half way dressed when he showed! At the wedding he only took 330 pictures and was supposed to take anywhere from 500-600 photos. He took his time to sit and eat a dinner at the wedding, looked like a slob and had to download the photos onto the computer to make room during the wedding so he missed a lot! Did not get many friend and family photos at the wedding! Did not touch up the photos either (eyes closed and stuff like that!) Took a lot of flower pictures since his wife was my florist and was getting her portfolio together. So I basically paid to help their business be able to advertise. It wasn't even about MY wedding! We could not get a hold of him after even with several attempts. We threatened everyday to take him to court and finally got our photo album 1 month after our 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY! Thank God we got our photos! I'm sorry for those of you who didn't.
Andre Gant is not to be trusted. He had an amazing talent that suckered you in. But he clearly is not honest or trustworthy and instead is just a scam artist. He drove clear across town to pick up his check for deposit on a Saturday afternoon and immediately cashed the check the same afternoon before bank closing time. But when it came time to receive our photos and album? We got an album with the wrong wedding date on it, no framed pictures as we paid for and a disc of pictures with no labels only after almost 2 years of demanding it. We are still waiting on our 'replacement' album which was always "ordered but not received yet". We know there are more than 20 such cases here in San Antonio alone. He even tried to scam my mom out of pictures of her before she was sent to Afghanistan. It took her over a year to receive ONE picture he took of her. Don't fall for this scam.
As with many others in this forum, we are very frustrated with Andre. He took pretty good pictures at the event, but has been VERY unresponsive since then. It's now OVER 2 years later, and we still don't have copies of any of the wedding photos, let alone our album. :'( I never thought we'd be one of "those" couples begging friends for snapshot copies, since it looks like we may never get photos from our paid photographer. :(
Still trying to reach Andre. Does anyone have recent contact info that actually works? I have yet to find a phone number or email address that hasn't been cancelled.
I wanted to add an update, as of 3/25/2011. Several of the members posting reviews on this site, as well as others in similar situations, filed police reports with the San Antonio Police Department in 2009. Based on these reports, the San Antonio District Attorney's office brought a case against Andre for felony theft. He pled guilty, and on 3/25/2011 was sentenced to 3 years in prison.
A brief summary report of the sentencing hearing was broadcast on KSAT-12 news: http://www.ksat.com/news/27327950/detail.html.
Please DO NOT use Andre Gant for your wedding photography services. Note that he has also operated under a variety of other business names. The latest was Artography Studio, but I'm sure there will be others in the future.
I thought my husband and I were the only ones who had these problems with Andre, and I guess we were probably the first of many. I too purchased bridal portraits from Andre to be given as gifts to my then fiance and my father that I never received. Andre said he "lost my order" and would promptly reorder them in time for the wedding. I received only the two photos, both 5x7's after begging that I needed them for my gifts. I never received the rest. 6 months after the wedding and lots of phone calls later I found out that he had given my wedding album to the venue to use for promotional purposes while I had nothing. He then basically said I needed to chill out because I had access to the photos online, after telling him that wouldn't help my husband's 84 year old great grandma any he arranged for us to "borrow" the wedding book from the venue and then threatened to sue us if we didn't return it within 24 hours and made us sign a contract! I finally did receive my wedding albums after I threatened to call the news station trouble shooters and they are beautiful but I still get acid reflux when I think about all that we went through to get them.
