Icing on the Cake

Having been an Icing on the Cake loyal for years I could not imagine another cake at our wedding. The carrot cake was lovely and all it should be. The chocolate cake, however, did not live up to its previous standards. A different filling was used in the sheet cakes than in the round which was a disappointment. I am not sorry we had our IOTC carrot cake but I do think we should have been informed that the sheet cakes would not resemble what we had tasted in the round.

Icing on the Cake has the BEST cake I have ever tasted. I am so glad we found this place in time for our wedding. We ended up going with cupcakes which made it way more affordable than getting a regular wedding cake. Everyone had so much fun tasting the different flavors. Way more fun than getting a slice of whatever is placed in front of you. We had 6 different flavors and they were all amazing. Even the tasting was fantastic. We tasted so many different kinds and even got to take home what we didn't eat. I would higly recommend Icing on the Cake for any event, and cupcakes are a great way to go for a fun twist or if you'd like to save a little bit. I cant wait to go back and get cupcakes with my husband, every year on our anniversary.

The cake was delicious! We got two flavors: vanilla with lemon filling, and chocolate with rasperry filling. Both were moist and tasty. We also got buttercream icing with a delicate scroll pattern. The cake looked simple and elegant. They also worked with us to use a smaller tiered cake for the cutting, but have extra sheet cake for serving to keep costs down. The one qualm I have is that we had tons of cake left over, so I don't know if our guests just didn't eat it or if they estimate their slice size super big or what. In any event, we enjoyed eating it over the next few days and gave leftovers to friends and family, so I don't think I would change anything. We now stop in for cupcakes whenever we are in the neighborhood. Note: If you want fondant, don't go here. They don't do it.

Icing on the Cake was maybe the 7th cake place we went tasting, and after tasting the wonderful cupcakes (that's how they do their tasting) we finally found the cake for our wedding! We had vanilla, chocolate, and lemon, and we were very happy with how it turned out; we also received a lot of compliments on the cake. Not as important, but the bakery also sells a lot of other tasty items. Also, while the bakery itself is a bit pricey, the cake prices were very reasonable compared to many other places we tasted. Highly recommended!

We tried a few places, including Sugar, Butter, Flour...and let me tell you, none were as delicious as Icing!!! The fact that they have walk-in tastings every other Saturday should say something...they are really popular. Our wedding cake was simply beautiful, and the tastiest I've ever had! They let you try whatever combinations you want at the tastings, and you can big a different flavor for ever tier if you want! The people there are so helpful, the shop is extremely chic...and they know cake! They also have the most wonderful pastries and cookies. A little pricier, but totally worth it.

Icing on the Cake is a really cute bakery in Los Gatos, and I came with high expectations, having read a ton of great reviews online. I was a bit disappointed that they did not have any private cake tastings. Instead, they have tastings that are first-come, first-serve every 1st and 3rd Saturday of every month. Get there early, because when I went, there were a looot of other couples in this little tiny store waiting in line for a taste. Their cake is decent but I think it's definitely on the "too sugary" side. Except for their banana cake - it's too die for...sooo good. I would go here to get desserts for your rehearsal dinner, but I think a wedding cake would be way too much sugariness. Unless you like the banana cake. Also, if you like cupcakes instead of a wedding cake, this place might be a good option too.

Delicious cake and wonderful staff. Many of our wedding guests tried to get a second serving of cake.

Of all the cakes we tasted from different places, the cakes at this bakery were the best. I highly, highly reccomend them.
