In the Mix Professional DJ Service

We chose the MC/DJ package. Prices were comparable/fair and service was excellent. James was absolutely a pleasure to work with and very responsive via email & in person as well. Highly recommended.

We used In The Mix for our wedding on Long Island and they were fantastic. Easy to deal with during the planning process and made it more fun! As for the service at the wedding, they were there and set up before anyone even arrived and made the party amazing. We got so many compliments on the DJ and the music. I can't say enough good things about these guys. I HIGHLY recommend them!

We had a very positive experience with In the Mix. Jack and Gina helped us tremendously to understand how important a professional DJ service is not only in doing the music but in setting the pacing and mood of the entire night (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception - including all the reception rituals like important dances, cake cutting, bouquet and garter toss, etc). Anyone who has been to a wedding in Long Island knows that guests are up and down, up and down all night long for dancing mixed with eating and other activities, and it can get a bit confusing where you're supposed to be when without good direction.

We got many compliments from guests that Jack was a great MC and that Chris did a great job as DJ. Even throughout the night of the wedding, guests were coming up to me to say that they loved our music. We believe that having them both as a team was crucial to the success of our reception in particular - people were dancing all night and everyone knew to be watching for our big moments.

In the Mix was responsive to all of our requests - including placement of the DJ equipment so that the fireplace in our room wouldn't be blocked, do not play and must play songs (we had specifications for some very specific music we wanted played at very specific times which were honored for us with no problem), and lighting (which was beautiful and varied throughout the night depending what was going on, setting the mood perfectly). As to pricing, everything is done a la carte, and we were offered a big menu at our consultation which included every possible service In the Mix could provide us and the individual price for each.

We reviewed all of our prospective vendors very diligently before making a final hiring decision, and in my opinion, In the Mix has no competition anywhere in Long Island in terms of the combination of professionalism, service, and price.

Everything we where looking for. They where awesome and played everything we asked for and kept the dance floor moving!

Gina, David and the entire staff at In the Mix proivded excellent service in regards to our wedding planning. We received all correspondance in a timely manner and in a sincere fashion. At the last minute, we needed In the Mix to provide music for our ceremony and our request was granted with ease. David and his team were so professional at our reception. We had a great time thanks to In the Mix. I would recommend In the Mix if you want a night to remember!

Excellent job!!! The music was outstanding and our guests continue to rave on the MC and DJ and how the music was distributed to accomodate everyone's taste. Kudos to "In the Mixx" and we will refer them to anyone that needs a DJ. The dance floor was on full all night long.

Let me start out by saying what an AMAZING wedding I had because of In The Mix DJ's!! My husband and I got married at the Crest Hollow Country Club and it was a night we will ALWAYS remember! In The Mix played every song that we wanted, every detail that we wanted was done with professionalism and excellence! From our first meeting with David, to the actual wedding, everything was just like our first visit!
MC James: James, you have serious talent! From our introduction, to last song (which was 2 hours after the party was supposed to end) you were all over the dance floor with high energy and amazing dance moves! Thank You James! In The Mix is lucky to have you!
DJ Rasheed: What else can I say! You played the best of every genre, from 60's and 70's, 80's and 90's and our favorites Top 40 and of course HOUSE MUSIC!! My parents loved that you were able to tie in the classics with the newer music. We loved that you were able to keep the dance floor going for 3hrs straight!!! Thank You Again!!!

Lastly, I’d like to thank the staff at in the office, Jack, Gina & David. Gina was amazing with going over the final Details ;-) for our wedding. I felt assured everything was fine when she went over the specifics from start to finish. She was only one of a couple vendors that did this. Thank You Gina. And last but not least, David. Choosing In the Mixx was one of the best decisions of my wedding. At first my MOH wasn’t to happy with the price I was paying, but sometimes you have to pay a little more for quality and professionalism. I’ve seen bad DJ’s/MC’s at weddings and I did not want any nightmares the day of. After the wedding, so many people were asking where I got those guys from. They were David and Evan. A great team who knows how to control a party. I originally wanted Kevin to DJ and they guaranteed that he would be available, however he did not show up the day of the wedding. My only issue with them was that they never advised me of this change, however I was not disappointed because I had seen hundreds of reviews on David and Evan which were always exceptional. When they opened the reception doors so we could get a reveal Of the room before our guests entered, my husband and I were both happy to see the team that was there. They were already having a good time, their equipment was setup very professionally and they were even enjoying the photobooth. This brang a smile to our faces and we were ready for the party to start.

My guests had a BLAST, so I guess everything happens for a reason. Definitely opt for the kinetic frontboard, the lighted towers, and the plasmas if you are displaying a slideshow. In addition, the zap photographer was also great. He took pics the whole night that were displayed immediately on the plasmas as the party was going on. If you are looking for a great dj company, please visit In the Mixx. You will not be disappointed!

We were very happy with In the Mix for our wedding, they did a great job with the song selections. Our guests had a lot of fun, and I was a very happy Bride dancing the whole time. Really nice staff too!

Music was touch and go! Most of my must haves were not played including my entrance song was not in the format that I strictly instructed.

I absolutely loved In the Mix . Dave (our DJ and MC) was FANTASTIC. Everyone danced the whole time and raved about the GREAT music! In the Mix was super easy to work with, professional, and made music-planning a cinch. Thank you so much In the Mix and Dave! I recommend this group wholeheartedly!

DJ was constantly asking me and my husband if there was anything he could do for us and kept us informed on the timeline to make it run smoothly.

I felt the MC did part of his job. I was very dissaponinted! At the begin of the wedding he was entertaining. However, as the night went on he did not have the guest dancing on their feet. At times, he was no where to be found. I also, felt that the DJ did not execute! He was not prepared for my wedding. Most of the entire night he played the entire songs from begining to end. I felt that he was not a professional dj. My guests felt the same way! Overall, I was not pleased with their work.

They were great! Our DJ/MC checked with us periodically to make sure everything was okay and if we wanted anything to be done differently. I loved that he honored our "do not play" list and I think played almost everything on our request list (one song twice because we asked!). He also immediately played a song that I (the bride) requested at one point. And I was so glad we got the Bose speakers- the music was a perfect volume (I've been to so many events where you can't hear anyone and your ears hurt). Everything was great!

In the Mix absolutely did a wonderful job with our wedding. Everyone was up and dancing the whole day and our wedding is still the talk of the town.

We went with In the Mix because our good friend's used them at their wedding and the emcee and music were great. For our wedding, day of performance and service was awesome. Great sound, and Dave our DJ and the other staff were the best! Dave is a natural and got the crowd going and flowed really well with humor and fun! Love him. Guests at our weddng are still telling us that they have never seen people up and dancing so early and for so long. We hear that it was the most fun wedding they've been to! They were responsive and on top of things. I would have liked however to sit down in the office and go over our play list and ideas in person rather than over the phone. It seemed a bit rushed.
The reason I didn't give a 5 on professsionalism and value is for a few reasons: We felt the overall cost was a bit higher than it should have been. The CD of photos that in the mix staff took cost $90 which is excessive. Also, the owner and female office staff were not very personable or friendly. They polite but too businesslike- with a slight edge- almost as if we were just another number to them. Showing more sincerity and friendliness would be beneficial to customer satisfaction.
Overall great company and excellent sound and DJing.

We booked in the mix a year before out wedding to make sure we were able to get Dave and Edison. And since then I have recommended them to several people to use. They had people dancing on the dance floor all night and definitely livened up the crowd. Loved them and would absolutely use them again.A+++++++ truly professional company and very reliable. VERY HAPPY WITH THEM!!!!

David and his DJ's did a great job MC-ing our wedding. They played a great set of music and kept the crowd engaged without being too over the top. Their gobo and lighting effects set the mood and brought our venue to life. Their photobooth was the star of the show (well, second to the bride of course). Everybody loved taking pictures and they made for easy favors. I recommend In the Mix to anyway with an upcoming event.

Great price and reliable. Being that my family is Portuguese we requested some Portuguese music, they did a great job of combining both and keeping everyone on the dance floor.

In The Mix went above and beyond to help make planning our special day as painless as possible.  As all brides know, trying to coordinate all the vendors, details and decision making can be overwhelming.  To start, David at In The Mix, was able to provide valuable guidance to help execute a night that reflects the personality of the Groom and I. He was also able to put forth his knowledge and expertise of the industry and past events, while still suggesting original ideas so our party was not a duplication of everyone else's event.  The only word to describe In The Mix the night of our event would be "FLAWLESS".  My husband and I really enjoy music and truly appreciate the art of a DJ.  Rasheed blew us away.  The music that night was a marathon of perfection and exceeded our expectations tenfold.  James mastered the mic and ensured that our party ran smoothly.  Evan took pictures that rivaled our professional photographers. And Ivory kept the photo booth running smooth while entertaining our guests.  All in all, having In The Mix handle our event was as good as leaving it up to myself.  They truly care about the Bride and Groom, their families, throwing a successful party, making sure that everyone is having an amazing time, while never losing sight of the details.  

My husband and I used In the Mix for our wedding DJ and we are so happy that we did. David and Cory had the dance floor packed all night long. Everyone from my grandparents to my 15 year old cousin had a blast. Everyone is still talking about how great the DJ was. We worked with David prior to the wedding and he was very professional in helping us pick songs and set up the flow of the wedding. We have already booked In the Mix for other family parties. Highly recommend to any bride!

I am so glad that we hired In the Mix!!! Dave was our MC and he was a-freakin-mazing! He kept the party going the whole time, and was funny, and just kept the dance floor full. From our first meeting I knew I had to have him there, and made sure to request him early. He is amazing at what he does. Edison was our DJ and he rocked it and hit every single song right on the head. I sent suggestions and must plays ahead of time (not a huge list) and the followed it and then some to make my whole reception perfectly. Gina was great and always had an answer to any question I had or tried to find the answer for me. I was worried since I never had an in person meeting besides to sign the contract....but once the party started that all flew out the window. Corey was also our photobooth attendant and he was great and patient and kept things moving right along. I had to take away a half of star just because the pricing for certain things were a little much, like $350 for a tv we needed for 5 mins (for the best man speech for my husbands brother who is in the military and could not make it) or $150 for a DVD of all the photobooth photos taken. Besides that their prices were fair.

In the mix was amazing at our wedding. They played music that fit all ages and genres and played everything we asked for and was able to play to the crowd. Everyone enjoyed the music and danced the night away. There wasn't a time was someone wasnt on the dance floor! They went above and beyond and I can't wait to be at an event where they are the DJ!!

I recommend IN THE MIX DJ's for your wedding DJ! The groom and I had requested family friendly older style rock and roll from the 40's through 60's and were specific about which type of music we did not want. I was late getting the list of genres and no play to the DJ, and assumed that I would likely have to deal with whatever since I had not given them adaquate time. Just like they said from the beginning, they do everything to meet the needs of the bride and groom regardless of their own tastes, guest requests, etc. They were courteous and professional throughout the day and even asked us if we wanted to have a game or other way of giving out the centerpieces. They are extremely respectful of different tastes and were VERY considerate about last minute adjustments. We had wanted a lower key approach and they responded to our request with a great deal of professionalism and care! I recall when I first met them and they stated "if the bride requests the electric slide 7 times, we will play it!" You probably won't find a more considerate DJ who puts the client's needs first, no matter what!

Dave was an incredible DJ/MC! We got so many compliments from our guests on the music. And the Bose speakers made a huge difference with the sound quality and general "loudness" in the room. We had many hard-of-hearing guests who usually have trouble at loud wedding receptions, but everyone said that the music was loud enough without being overwhelming.
The photo booth was so much fun! A few guests seemed to show up every time it was down for a few minutes, which was disappointing, but overall it was a big hit.

I very much recommend this dj company. Jack was our mc - he was great, professional, knowledgable, helpful as was Gina. We were happy with all the lighting. The only thing I was not thrilled with was the percussionist. I have been to weddings where the percussionist made the party. I dont think that was the case with ours. Possibly my fault for not putting a lot of effort into hearing and requesting a specific person. I relied on the dj company for that which was the only downside. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

Just got married (9/2011), used In the Mix, we were so pleased with their service. I was skeptical, as my husband and I are Chrisitan and had certain music content we did not want played, along with less common music to be played. However, Corey was our dj and he was so attentive to our needs, he played all our requests (christian music along with dance classics from the 50's to now) and respected our wishes. He came to us often to make sure we were pleased and checked with us before playing music requests. It was apparent his intent was to provide us with the best service and honor our requests and beliefs. Although it was a daytime wedding, the dance floor was hopping. David in the office was also very kind and helpful. Thank you to Corey and In the Mix for the service you provided.

While they gave a great impression when we interviewed them in person, In the Mix was the only mistake I made. It ended up being a HUGE mistake, since the DJ harrassed the groom and my father minutes before the ceremony, threatening to leave and complaining that he couldn't set up his equipment. But let's back up.

Pre-Wedding: We book the Multitalented DJ because we specifically did not want an MC who's shouting and egging people on. We select the Bose speaker system (surcharge) for higher quality sound, and tell the DJ we like that sound system BECAUSE we hate being in parties where the music is way too loud. We tell him we want to avoid Top 50 Pop music, and he says he totally agrees and is on board.

Closer to the wedding day: The request form online only allows 15 songs, and they had MAJOR attitude telling us that they need the freedom, we don't know how to run a party, and we can't submit more songs. I called the BS - whose wedding is it?! - and I reminded them in writing to avoid heavy-rotation pop. Also, when we wanted to change our first dance song the week before the wedding, the DJ and the owner of the company told us there would be a charge for that, because mixing songs is hard. Why hire a DJ who can't mix songs? That is called an iPod. Then, the owner tried telling us that the music and equipment are hard for one person, and we should hire a second DJ. Well, the guy we hired had been confident about being a "multitalented" one-man show, so we didn't think the hard upsell was appropriate.

The DJ assured us he'd been to the venue multiple times and knew how to set up the sound system. We told him we'd like amber lights around the dance floor.
We weren't allowed to get the DJ's cell phone number for day-of emergency use, or his email address for song/technical updates. Are you kidding me?!

Wedding Day: DJ is saying he can't set up the ceremony sound system, which we paid extra for. Well, he had said he was totally familiar with the location and sure he could work it out. NOT the time to bug the groom and bride's father, who are practicing their vows/speeches. DJ rejects a check made to "CASH" which is legally the same as cash, and threatens to LEAVE unless people go to an ATM and pony up. He's telling my father he'll leave in front of guests, who pooled together some cash to save the day.

Reception: The lights are purple instead of amber. There is no expensive Bose sound system, and the music is WAY too loud. The groom and my parents each went up 5 to 6 times EACH, and my granny too. He ignored literally 15 repeated requests to turn the music down. He plays all sorts of crappy overplayed pop music. He eggs people on instead of being behind-the-scenes.

Conclusion: These guys charge an awful lot of money for people that run their own show instead of catering to how you want your wedding. But they'll keep people dancing, as long as you do things however they want and pay in cash (not a check made out to cash). We're filing an IRS report and we WOULD complain to the Better Business Bureau, but surprise... they're not a member.

David is awesome! Everybody was thrilled with the DJ during the reception and even after our wedding, plenty of my friends were saying how great the music was and loved the DJ. I'm just sorry I missed a couple of the must plays I requested because I need to do a wardrobe change!!

We are so glad we chose In The Mix -- they were a pleasure to work with. Gina was very helpful with planning, always answering emails and calls with a quick turnaround. David and his team were professional and fun, and our guests raved about how much fun they had dancing that night. They were able to accommodate all our requests, and we had an incredible night! They kept everyone on their feet, and we had so much fun.

From beginning to end In the Mix was absolutely amazing. They were helpful, nice, and as excited about our event as we were! Tank and Chris created the dance party we envisioned for our wedding and I wouldnt have changed a single thing!! Gina at the front desk was sweet, helpful, and took on my craziness with a smile (Even when I hung up on her cuz I was sleeping!). Great business!!

We chose In the Mix after meeting with Dave a year before our wedding. We loved his personality, he was so helpful and we felt he would be a great fit into our wedding --he even helped us book a steel drum for cocktail hour. The day of the wedding they showed up early and had everything prepared. They played a great mix of music and the dance floor was packed the ENTIRE night!! People are still raving about what a great job they did. My husband requested several songs throughout the night and they immediately played each one. We also had them do the lighting and it looks great in all the pictures. While they did not play all of our "must plays" the only one I am upset about is the Tarantella (which I had emailed them about). While I may not have noticed until the end of the night my family definitely missed this tradition.

I gave a 4/5 for responsiveness because a month or two before the wedding we asked to meet in person with the DJ or MC to discuss the day of and were told that everything could be filled out online or emailed to them. We would have preferred to get the personal attention of an actual meeting but in the end we were extremely happy with the service that they provided.

Cory did a great job and was very responsive to the type of songs we requested and mood we were looking to achieve. We are definitely interested in inquiring using your services for our wedding! Thanks again!

5-stars all the way. Evan and James were total pro's. The party kept a swift pace of featured events e.g., first dance, cake cutting, and the night went swimmingly. The sound was great, but not too much for the room. And the mic's never made that awful feedback sound once! You'd be surprised how many weddings have DJ's that don't know the dynamics of the room they're in. In The Mix, and Evan and James killed it - they ran a flawless evening.

We were also thrilled they have a photobooth, which was a big hit with our guests. My wife and I are in our early 30's and we've been to a good number of weddings. And our DJ & MC combo was the best wedding we've ever attended. Would certainly hire them again, and recommend them for any wedding/special event in Long Island.

In the Mix exceeding our expectations for our wedding. David kept the crowd dancing all night with a great mixture of today's hits, dance classics and older tunes for all to enjoy. They were very professional, courteous, and fun to have at our wedding. Our 200+ guests had nothing but the best things to say about In the Mix. I sent my song list days before the wedding and I knew it was not guaranteed I would get to hear them but was so excited when the dj told me right before the wedding began he had every song I requested and played them all!! The music was exactly what I wanted, I danced all night and all of my guests had the best time ever!!

We met with In the Mix after shopping around the area. We said what we were looking for and said what we werent interested in and were not pressured into packages that we werent interested in which was the first (+). Gina made the initial appointment very straight forward and easy explaining how to select song choices, deadline and payment information. We needed music for our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception so 6 hours of music. We had James for our day and everything was flawless. He checked in with us and made sure all selections he had written down were exactly what we asked for etc. Our ceremony music faded from one song to the next perfectly, cocktail music was appropriate and volume was great and during the reception any songs that were requested were played, he wasnt obnoxious about getting people to dance and he executed our likes/dislikes just as requested. We'd absolutely recommend In the Mix for friends and would use them again if we had any event we'd need a DJ for.

In The Mix was very professional and attentive during our wedding planning. We were impressed by our first meeting with David and Gina. They made us feel comfortable and confidant with the services that were offered. In da mix has music for every culture and age group. We even used the photo booth as our wedding favor. Our guest loved it and it was worth the extra money. Our wedding day went by smooth without any problems. In The Mix did our ceremony and reception music. Every song was played according to our plan. They did a good job of organizing our reception activities and they kept the crowd excited throughout the night. The DJ and MC were very attentive to my needs and concerns during the night. It felt good to know that they truly cared about things that were important to me. My guests continue to tell me that our wedding was the best wedding they have ever attended.

Our wedding was a big success! In the mix are very professional and did everything i asked of them. They Played all the songs i requested and then some. They had the crowd up and dancing, so if you have a lot of dancers at your event, they're the DJ you want to hire. The Bose lights that dance to the music were beautiful and add a great deal to the venue. The sound was crystal clear. Jst make sure when youre hiring a dj that you tell them everything you want and dont want to hear. Also that your venue has a microphone, other wise you need one!!! I hope i was a help to any future brides

We had an amazing time at our wedding because the DJ was so helpful/polite/understanding/up beat. James was our DJ. I couldn't ask for a better DJ. He knew what to do and he did everything perfect!!!

In the Mix is a great investment in your wedding. Our reception was fantastic thanks to their service and professionalism. They read my guests so well and played exactly what got them up and dancing. These guys really know how to make your wedding reception a success. Trust them. Give them the 15 songs you like; and let them work their magic. You will not be disappointed. If I can give any advice, it's don't cheap out on your wedding entertainment. I am so glad I hired In the Mix.

Our DJ James was awesome. He played every single song we requested and was very flexible with the schedule throughout the night. We had a predominantly Asian audience and he really knew how to get the party going. We'd definitely use them again. And the price was very reasonable . . . and their online song request forms was very easy to use. I highly recommend them.

In the Mix was a great choice for our wedding. My husband is Portuguese as is the owner, so he was a great help. Jack was also our MC and he and his team did a fantastic job mixing "English" music with "Portuguese" music. A great choice for anyone that wants to have a fun time at their wedding!

We had In The Mix as our DJ vendor for our wedding. They did an amazing job. We couldn't have asked for anyone better. DJ Tank and the other DJ, whose name has slipped my mind at the moment, were amazing. They had the whole room going the whole night. There wasn't one time that we had an empty floor. The guests were actually told they have sit down in order to eat. When we signed up with them and all the way to the wedding day, they listened to all of the requests that we asked for and followed through. Most DJ's ask for your opinion on things and then don't follow any of them. I would definately use In The Mix again and I would also recommend them to anyone having a party and they need a DJ, especiallly a wedding. Thank You In The Mix for making my wedding day amazing. In the Mix was one of our wedding venues recommended vendors. We received a few fliers in the mail from them after we booked our wedding. One of them offered a free DJ so we made an appointment to check it out.
When we arrived we were given an estimate: yes, DJ was free but we also needed the MC and decided on a few extras (plasma, video montage, gobo, up-lighting, etc.). We booked with them over a year before our popular 10/10/10 wedding date. Everything was fine.

When we went back the following summer we dealt with a different person and it was a nightmare. He was extremely rude, unprofessional, and down right insulting. We were never given an itemized list/estimate and questioned some prices that were different (lower) than a flyer we had received weeks earlier. He kept saying that we had the free DJ, so, ok, apparently we have to pay extra for other things to make up for the free DJ? I see.
We had recently moved and did not receive a letter about having our photos for the video montage in and our music selections. He literally accused me (not my then fiance who was sitting right there) of not having my mailed forwarded (I did and can prove it with a letter from the USPS). He said if I didn't submit it soon our wedding would be put on the back burner and the service wouldn't be good. Unbelievable! According to their site, that stuff wasn't even due yet!
He was pushing additional lighting and other services on us, claiming that our wedding would be "typical" and "boring" if we didn't get it. Meanwhile everyone has that stuff at weddings, it is the new typical. Not to mention I was unemployed and could not afford anything extra. I even regret getting any up lighting; the room was beautiful and elegant and didn't need any tacky club look. We also took away the gobo and give ways but were credited the wrong amount (I later found a small scrap paper with prices that the first person wrote down).
When my husband called back and spoke to the original person we booked with he was very apologetic.

As for the actual DJ and MC, they were good. They didn't play all our 'must plays' and they played random (unwanted) slow songs to dance to rather than the ones I picked (which they played during dinner instead). It's unfortunate that one person can sour someone to a whole company.

We were always able to get somebody on the phone to answer any of our questions or concerns.
On the day of our wedding, we had complete confidence in Dave. He did such a great job!

i cant say how appreciative I am of how fantastic this DJ was. They really made our wedding day wonderful and all of our guests keep telling us how much fun they had that they couldnt get off the dance floor. They knew all the right songs to play at all times and truly made our day very special.

In the Mix was great!!! They exceeded our expectations in providing the variety and balance of music we were looking for. They had every single special request song we asked for. The MC had so much energy and enthusiasm from start to finish and best of all the MC ran any special requests from guest by the bride first. Thank you for helping us have such a memorable night!

Excellent DJ!

The biggest concern with the DJ service was I, the bride lost my bracelet during my reception and fortunately a guest handed it over to the DJ. You would think that they would make an announcement regarding the found jewlery or at least speak with the bride or groom and they didn't. Once I realized that I was missing my bracelet I asked around and went to the DJ for them to make an announcement until only then, did they tell me that they had it. When were they expecting to tell? Or were they hoping to keep it???

We could not be happier with In the Mix. Communication during the reception was excellent as Jack and crew worked with us and the reception hall as a team. Jack, who was our MC also asked us on more than one occasion if everything was up to our expectations. Jack has a great personality as our guests mentioned on more than one occasion. This and the DJ's music selection really kept the dance floor going all night.

When Jack realized that I was not having a father/bride dance, he improvised and offered a suggestion to have my sister and me dance instead which I will never forget. All services were performed as promised and done at the highest level of professionalism.

I received a flyer in the mail for In The Mix. My father had told me to go check them out. So we went to check everything out and fell in love with the whole performance they showed us on the spot. We booked them for our wedding. Everything turned out perfect from the lighting to their set-up to how they performed. We even had the digital imaging for the night. Everything was coordinated beautifully from the ceremony to the reception. All the music requested was all on cue and just right. The ceremony music and the music mix for the cocktail hour were perfect. In addition, enough good things can not be said about the MC. MC, Rob was fantastic. So many of the guests commented about how great he was and several requested his contact information for their own future entertainment needs. Having Rob as the MC was such a pleasure. He was extremely attentive, made everyone feel comfortable and got the guests dancing throughout the whole evening.

In The Mix is an awesome D.J. service! We used them for our wedding in July. They handled all of our requests and correspondences very professionally. We had Evan as our D.J. and Rob as our M.C. They were amazing! They had our guests up and out of their seats for the whole evening! Lot's of guest interaction! All of my guests told me they had the best time because the M.C. was so energetic and made them want to get up and dance. I would totally recommend In The Mix!!

Everything we asked was provided ten fold. Their Spanish DJ gave us a great mix of Latin and modern pop favorites. The lighting was magical. The MC really revved up the crowd. My husband and I are still reeling from the amazing time we had at our wedding!!! In the Mix DJ's were absolutely fantastic in every way possible. They were incredibly personable and professional and we couldn't have asked for our DJ and Emcee to have been more phenomenal. Where do I start? In The Mix was phenomonal and more! They were so attentive and on point to what me and my husband wanted. The mix of the music: merengue, salsa, bachata, haitian music, soca, hip hop, dance was perfect!!! They did not skip a beat! Dave the MC was great and so nice and made us feel comfortable. Edison the DJ was on point with the mixing of all the music. They played all the songs I requested and made sure not to play the song I hate. Thanks guys for not playing "Suavemente," LOL! You guys were the bomb!

Overall, we were very happy with In The Mixx for our wedding. They have a large staff, so we had no worries that the company would double book or someone would call in sick on our wedding day. Gina checked in with us the week of the wedding and went over every step of the wedding, so we had peace of mind for our day. The DJ played everything we requested and all the music flowed beautifully. Everything was on cue and perfect. All of our "special songs" (first day, cake cutting, etc) were well-coordinated and right on target. He got the guests on their feet and dancing and played everything I (the bride) request, even if it wasn't typical wedding music (like Iron Maiden) The staff is sweet and friendly and delivered every promise they made. In The Mixx helped make our wedding wonderful.

In the mix was amazing. There was an issue with the dj and I didnt even know it until I was told until the end of the night. The mc stepped right in and did an amazing job. They kept the party going all night and no one left the dance floor.

We loved our DJ and so did everyone else at our wedding (people are still talking about how great they were). Dave was our MC and coordinated all the music for our wedding, even going on you-tube to find a song my mother-in-law wanted. They were friendly, easy to talk to and very helpful with music suggestions. I don't normally fill out reviews but thought this would be just our way of saying thanks for making our reception even more perfect.

We were really impressed with the job that James from In the Mix did at our wedding. He was our DJ and MC and coordinated dance music with a live Greek band that we had also hired, and he helped make everything go very smoothly switching between DJ and the band. He made our intro really exciting and that got everyone in a great mood to celebrate. Our guests were dancing all night, and are still raving about how much fun they had at our wedding. Gina at In the Mix was great at coordinating everything. We had specific songs we wanted played during the dinner part, and every single song we asked for was played. James checked in with me and my husband a few times throughout the night to make sure we were happy with how things were going, which we also appreciated. We were really glad that he stuck with all the songs and instructions we gave, and he met with us briefly before the reception to review everything which was great. In the Mix was very easy to work with because of their online song selection tools. Also they seemed willing to negotiate prices, so it's worth it to ask. I think I had the best DJ out of any other wedding I've been too, except my friend's wedding back in November, who also used James from In the Mix! :)

The MC and the DJ did an amazing job. They played all kinds of music and got the party going. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

Where do I start? From the first sit-down meeting with Dave to the final song with our MC Rob it was perfect! I was able to pick everything I wanted without being forced into a package I didn't need. They we're on time and ready for eveything. I had even given them a very detailed song list that they played from exactly. The dancefloor looked like a club from begining to end, eveyone was entertained. I reccomend Dave (MC) and Rob (MC) to everyone! Dino was our DJ who was flawless also! We planned our Wedding in 2 months! We had In the Mix in the Large room at The Inn at New Hyde Park and it was incredible. They set up their lighting system and the already beautiful room was transformed into an amazing colorful party environment. We had our monogram on moving on the wall and all the walls were changing colors. We choose to use their Bose sound system package, and there was a noticable difference with the sound. The music was clear and crisp to add to that we had a great percussionist playing up front with the DJ. Our M.C. David and DJ team were all over the dance floor, they did an amazing job. In the Mix was Amazing!
We recommend In The Mix to everyone. Our Guests and family were shocked at how everything fell together in such a short time. We would like to thank Jack and Gina, who helped us put this all together in such a short period of time. Really when you deal with professionals who know and love what they do, you have nothing to worry about. Thank you, In The Mix!!!

In the Mix was a total music Hit. We all KNOW that music variety and style will make or break the festivities. In the Mix was professional from beginning to end. The Music was easy to choose with their easy access online customer website. Everything we wanted in a DJ/MC and more. They were able to play all my music selections and when i had to leave for photos they even mixed in a different song to play my favorite when i got back. The Gobo of our names was a hit and looked wonderful through the night on the dance floor. The Kinetic and elegant lighting added a wonderful mood that accented the nights festivities. David my MC was perfect at exciting the crowd and keeping the dance mood upbeat. The pictures he took were beautiful and everyone enjoyed seeing them on the big screen throughout dinner and dessert. We had a wonderful party and Everyone raved about the Rose Dance as the flowers lighted the room and all the couples gladly got on the floor to dance and add future years of happiness to our marriage per couple. My original DJ did not show up top my wedding, therefore I had about 2 minutes to go over with the new DJ what we like and don't. I new DJ should have called us the day before to go over what we want.

Though we ran into a major snag when it came to ceremony music, our DJ really worked relentlessly to solve the problem. I have to say that In the Mix really does care about providing you the services that YOU want.

Most brides obsess about the food, drinks and flowers, I obsessed about music and In The Mix enjoyed every minute of it and gave me all I wanted and more. They made me feel confident that they could handle anything I threw at them including a very long playlist. They helped me strike the perfect balance between what I wanted and what they are professionally trained to do. Gina was there for me every step and change of the way and even provided advice on other aspects of the wedding. James is the way to go for a DJ as he not only works at weddings but also works at clubs in the city and can read the vibe of a crowd like no other. As an added bonus Jack the owner of In The Mix was the Emcee and that just goes to show you how hands on this company is. I highly recommend In The MIx. They are worth every penny. Hip Hip Hooray!

I cannot say enough great things about ?In The Mix?. David and Evan were just incredible; they were the Dynamic Duo and were hands down SPECTACULAR. these guys were very pleasant to work with, they tried their hardest to accommodate my music request and were able to find songs that i thought they would never find. They mixed the music and were able to really entertain a carribean crowd. AWESOME JOB

He was great, very attentive and professional, just seemed to be new and needed direction. I purposely did not give a "play list" because I really wanted the DJ to read the crowd and not play from a list I gave but I felt a few times that I had to go over and tell him what to play. I felt I should have maybe planned the music choices some more and gave more requests ahead of time. Overall though he was so cooperative and polite that we were very happy with the service and the music. I would recommend our DJ!

David and Even were amazing at the wedding. Their energy and professonalism exceeded our every expectations. There was never a moment the crowd wasnt entertained. My wife requested Indian remixes whereas I wanted Popular music, and he blended them PERFECTLY. These guys are highly reccommended, and will make any occassion memorable.

Oh my goodness this company is AWESOME!!! I absolutely loved our DJ and he kept everyone on the dance floor all night. My husband started out greeting later than normal because we didn't want to leave the dance floor. Loved every minute of our wedding. I believe that if you hire them, you won't be disappointed.

Sales and Support:
Out of all our vendors, we were probably most disappointed with the sales and office team at In the Mix. When we negotiated our contract back in 2006 with Jack, we had asked for the following:
# screen to play a montage slideshow that we would produce ourselves

# DJ and MC for the reception from 7:30-11:30pm

# zap show which included digital pictures taken at the wedding shown almost real-time on a screen and a verbal guarantee that the pictures would be ours to keep

We added on music for the ceremony when we revived the contract in early 2008. About a month before the wedding in August, In the Mix sent us a letter telling us to log onto their website and fill out a very handy form over the internet basically delineating the critical bits of information they needed such as names of the bridal party, 1st dance and cake cutting songs and whether we would have a bouquet/garter toss etc. I filled out their form and sent In the Mix our own schedule which was edited 3 times within a 2 month time period before the wedding. About 2 weeks before the wedding, John called In the Mix to schedule an appointment to begin going over our schedule but In the Mix tells us that we don't have to come in and anything we needed to tell them could be sent over email. We sent In the Mix our final schedule at least 1 week before the wedding day. Worried that it would probably be wise to go over the schedule with In the Mix, John and I scheduled an appointment to drop off our montage slideshow and at the same time go over the schedule with Gina at In the Mix. We went over the entire schedule, including exactly which songs we wanted, what we wanted said and what songs we did not want played. I even highlighted parts of the schedule which were In the Mix's responsbility for Gina. I specifically asked whether we could meet with our MC or obtain a contact number for them to go over the schedule with them or if there was an emergency but Gina assured us that they will get our schedule without a problem and if there were any emergencies to call the office. I asked if the office would be open on Sunday, the day of our wedding and Gina said that no one would be in the office on weekends, which basically meant if there was an emergency, we wouldn't reach anyone.

Less than a week before the wedding, I receive a phone call from Gina saying that our final balance was due. When we asked whether we could pay with a credit card, Gina noted that any amount paid within 2 weeks before the wedding must be done by cash. It would have been courteous if an email/phone call reminder if the all-cash payment requirement was given before the 2 week mark given there was ample opportunity to do so. Getting that call from Gina just a mere few days before the actual wedding day when everyone was already swamped trying to nail down the seating chart, get the vows laminated, get the favors put together etc was just not helpful because that meant scheduling one of us to go to the bank when every second of our day was literally being used up fast.

Another thing was when we sent In the Mix a workable version of our schedule a few weeks before the wedding, In the Mix said they would try their best to find our first dance song which was spanish. We weren't told that In the Mix was unable to find the song until a week before the wedding. When I immediately emailed the mp3 file over to In the Mix and made sure to cc myself on the email, Gina said that the file could not be opened on her computer and the contract had already "gone into production." However, the file worked perfectly fine on the email that I cc'd myself on. We were told that we would have to bring our 1st dance song ourselves to the DJ on the day of the the wedding - another service related item we had to worry about amongst all the things we were trying to keep track of on the day of the wedding which we felt we had paid In the Mix for.

We first have to say that we really liked our MC James. James tried hard to motivate the crowd to dance and worked with Wedding Box to generate some picture worthy moments. James also tried hard to get guests to come out to the dance floor during the Anniversary Dance and James tried his best to keep us in the loop as to what was going on with our schedule. In addition, James tried to go over the schedule with us when we arrived at Jericho Terrace on the day of the wedding but we were so swamped with the photography team, the tea ceremony and with setting things up that it was very difficult to go over things with James. In our mind, we were assuming that Gina had already gone over everything James needed when the contract had "gone into production" but when James brought over his sheet of paper, and not our schedule, it did not look that way.

Even after going through the final schedule with In the Mix the week before the wedding, a few mishaps, fortunately minor ones, arose on the wedding day:

# We had asked for St. Elmo's Fire to be played as the Entrance song for the bridal party but In the Mix said that they had played it for our guests because that was what was on our schedule. When we previewed our unedited video from Wedding Box, I did not hear St. Elmo's Fire anywhere. Either our videographer didn't catch it or it just wasn't played. If they did, I don't know when they played it because my guests don't remember it being played either. That wasn't a big deal because the song that James and Evans chose a song for the bridal party entrance was pretty hip and fun.

# We asked for our MC to announce that we first heard "The Gift" to be played during the bridal party dance that we first heard it at Ed & Yung's wedding - but this didn't happen.

# We had one of our long time family friends Uncle Joseph singing "My Prayer" acappella to replace the father-daughter dance on the schedule but apparently In the Mix told Uncle Joseph that it wasn't happening during the wedding. We found out because a relative told us what In the Mix told Uncle Joseph but thankfully In the Mix was able to announce Uncle Joseph's song after we suppose checking the schedule.

# We were probably most disappointed because after the party ended, we had expected In the Mix to have the pictures which they took for the zap show ready for us to take home as verbally negotiated on our contract. When I approached James to ask him about it, James said that we had to pay $200 something for an edited copy of the pictures and that they did not give out unedited pictures. James told me to call the office up the next day. When I called In the Mix the next day, I was told something different - that we could have the unedited pictures if we paid $95 for the pictures. Not that $95 is an enormous amount of money but on matter of principle, I clearly remember negiating the contract and adding in the zap show because the pictures were to be included (with no additional charge). This was back in 2006 and mindful that maybe pricing has changed but if it has, it would again have been courteous if extra charges were specified up front and not on the night of the wedding. This little end to the evening put a real damper to our view of In the Mix.

Not to end on a sour note, we definitely give credit to In the Mix for trying within their best ability because In the Mix said they set up 2 screens for us (1 during cocktail hour to show our montage and 1 during the reception to show the zap show) which supposedly minimized setup time. If they did not bring in two screens, In the Mix said they would have had to dismantle the 1st screen after cocktail hour and then take 15 minutes out of reception to set it up the same screen in the reception room. Please note that guests were ushered out of cocktail hour into the reception room about 10 minutes before the cocktail hour was supposed to end.

Very Professional. Kept the reception live. Excellent personality (David, MC). Overall completely satisfied with the level of service they provided.

I was completely surprised and impressed with In the Mix. I randomly picked them out of a magazine and was won over, when I went in to their office for a planning session. The DJ and MC provided were wonderful. They worked with us to keep the crowd partying all night.

This DJ keep people of all guests on the dance floor! They are so energetic without being the focus of the party. The focus is on you! Highly recommend them no matter what venue you choose.

Experienced professionals, an asset to the wedding industry......when In the Mix is DJing, I know there will be a great time had by all!!!!! They are experienced in WEDDINGS, which is the most important thing when looking for a DJ. There is only one opportunity for a great wedding, and with In the Mix in control, it will be perfect!!!!
