Reviews for InterContinental Los Angeles Century City
We had our wedding in 2006 when this hotel was called the Park Hyatt Century City. The catering staff has not changed, I have been told. The service at this hotel was wonderful. When we began planning the reception, we met with a catering employee who was just amazing. She unfortunateley left prior to our wedding but she put us in good hands with the head catering manager, Arthur Sands. He was very accomodating answered all of our questions and gave us suggestions that worked well with what we wanted. He let us bring in our own wedding cake baked by a family friend along with 10 sheet cakes that the kitchen staff cut and served to our guests. We got so many complements on the appetizers, the waiters did not have a chance to walk around and our guests mobbed them to get a serving. Dinner was delicious too. The let us serve an alcoholic drink that is popular in our culture and let us use our own personalized napkins. We were very happy, the staff was wonderful and so flexible. I was also able to come the day prior to the wedding to drop off the favors, cakes and other things that were needed for the wedding. I was also able to meet the head chef who would be cooking our reception dinner. They gave me and DH a huge room to get ready in, it was not a bedroom, more like a smaller conference room but it had a large bathroom and a ton of table space.
we got married here this year and i hate to say this but i really regret it. we are still dealing with a mess of charges. not to mention alot of other little things that went wrong. the person we were dealing with was not very responsive i had a bad feeling once we started working together but we already gave our deposit and i just wanted to have faith. one of the main things that really upset us was we purchased a "premium" bar thinking they would serve grey goose and other premium liquors like they did at the two weddings we went to visit there. instead they served absolute and other pretty cheap liquors. what can we do since the night already passed! then they charged an extra $1200 to my credit card saying we had more guests when we know we actually had less. we were supposed to get a refund. i asked them how they came up with this figure and to provide some proof such as a count of the actual meals served. i would think they would have something in writing. it's been weeks and they've yet to answer us on this only saying the banquet manager counted the number of chairs. overall i get the feeling they are a tacky establishment, trying to get in extra charges and serving cheap alcohol. for the price you're going to end up paying 175+ pp i would recommend go somewhere else!! where they have a better ballroom, this one is really dingy, a better garden/courtyard (this one doesnt have any flowers and it's super windy) and most importantly better service!
