Island Photography

When we started looking for photographers, I immediately knew at the wedding expo that if I had my choice of anyone it would definitely be Island Photography. The engagement pictures were awesome and everyone loved them…..now everyone loves the wedding and trash the dress photos! Mike & Allie are so much fun. The day of they both knew exactly what needed to be done and made sure everyone had what they needed, etc. It was almost like having an additional planner. That is not something I even expected with a photographer. Also, Island Photography was one of the few that gave you copyright to your images. Now, we can have all of the pictures we want and can always access copies if needed. We knew we were in good hands, and it definitely shows. Would def recommend to anyone!

Allie and Mike are just wonderful, and worth every penny! We had over 1,600 pictures and they all came out beautifully!! Allie is so much fun. We had a blast with her while we were getting ready.

She managed to take this hilarious picture of my sister-in-laws and I. One was doing my make-up while the other was doing the one doing my make-up's hair (you follow? :-)

The best picture by far was one they did on the beach of my husband and I kissing with the clouds in the background, and my veil blowing in the wind. The way they manipulated the cloud color to look more blue-ish (it was overcast that day) was just beautiful! They also caught a picture of one of my dad's friends doing the worm at the reception!

I'm contemplating asking them if they can do some more pics for me around our year anniversary so that we can do a trash-the-dress shoot, depending on their availability and my finances.

We can't even express how grateful we are for all of Mike and Allie’s help and hard work on our wedding day and the beautiful photos that they captured! We had a very small wedding with only immediate family, but they were both so great with everyone, from 1 year old Aiden to his 77 year old Great Grandma whose claim to fame is being "allergic" to having her picture taken!!
The day flew by so fast and the images really tell the story of our day! The YouTube video that they created within a week is just awesome and such a great way to give friends a glimpse of our beautiful ocean-side wedding!
We can't thank them enough and would give them our highest recommendations to anyone!

Mike and Allie are so friendly and take amazing pictures. We got some amazing candid as well as posed photos. Everyone commented on how great they were at the wedding. We received the pictures quickly as well.

Mike and Allie Hawkins did a wonderful job with taking pictures at our wedding. We went with the elopment package, which was exactly what we needed. They took some very pretty shots on the beach that we were able to blow up. Also, they provided us with the CD- which was not an option that other photographers had. They were also fun and put us at ease. We would highly recommend them.

Mike and Allie are awesome. Allie follows you around with a little backpack fixing your hair and makeup and calming you down. Not only do their fun personalities show in their pictures, but the photos are also beautiful!

Having great photos of our wedding was our number one priority after venue site. Allie and Mike did not disappoint! In addition to the wedding, we also did an engagement shoot with them on the beach, which was a great way to get to know them even more before the wedding day. Between the two of them, Allie and Mike shot over 4000 photographs of the ceremony and reception -- AMAZING! They condensed it down to just under 2000, and we got to keep the cds with all the images. They also put together an AMAZING YouTube video montage of their favorite shots which was an easy way to share the highlights with guests and friends. Allie and Mike have an amazing synergy in their work -- they defer to another if one of them has a better shot, they know what the other is thinking, and the move seamlessly as a team. Not only are they great photographers, they're just a lot of fun! I'm an event planner in DC, and I'd use them regularly for my events if they lived closer!

Allie and Mike were incredible photographers! They work well together, and they get tons of incredible shots quickly as a result. They were very helpful and organized in general - helping me know how to pose, showing me where to stash my tissue, bustling my dress. I had somewhat rainy weather during the wedding, and I was sure that the photos wouldn't be that great - it was gray, the wind and rain had ruined my hair, etc. But when I saw the photos, I literally cried with joy - they were that amazing! I got 1247 photos back to me in the middle of my honeymoon - so fast! Two professional photographers, giving me that many beautiful photos that quickly, and for that price, was a huge value!

We ABSOLUTEY loved everything about working with Mike and Allie! They were awesome. We had our photos before we even got back from our Honeymoon! They capture every moment and their photos were beautiful. Allie was there for me more than a normal photographer would be - she had bobbypins, mints, tissues, anything for the last minute fix! My Mom raves about them to everyone and wants us to vacation next year in the Outer Banks just to hire them for family photos. AMAZING!!! I could not have asked for more. It was great to have a team of two photographers and they work so well together. Everyone at the wedding raved about how awesome they were - yes, even the guest's noticed. Allie could be a photographer/wedding planner - on my wedding day she had everything with her that I had forgotten - bug spray, bobby pins, blotters for your face!!! - just amazing. AND the photos were wonderful!!
