Jacques Fine European Pastries

We ordered two cakes from Jacques: our wedding cake and also a surprise grooms cake for my husband. Both were amazing! Karen, our baker, was open and available during the planning process and she made two beautiful, and very tasty, cakes. I would definitely recommend Jacques.

Wow! When I first went to my cake tasting I was impressed when I walked through the door. My husband and I flipped through books and tasted different cakes and decided on what we were going to do for our cake. They drew it up on the spot and it was perfect. When I finally got to see the cake on my wedding day I was floored! It was more beautiful than I could have hoped for, and it tasted amazing!! Our guests loved it as did we. I even had Jacques Pastries create an ice cream cake for my husband as his grooms cake. I designed it through emails and had no idea how it was going to turn out. I could not have been more pleased when I finally saw it! I wish I could include a picture because it was AMAZING!!! The detail they put into it was incredible. I would highly recommend Jacques Pastries!!!!

We recently got married on April 14, 2012 and had the pleasure of having Jacques Fine European Pastries for our wedding cake. They were so professional from the very start catering to all our needs. I'm not a huge cake eater, but not only were the cupcakes gorgeous, they were absolutely delicious. They worked with my vendor and it took so much stress off the planning that it was worth every penny.

Amazing. They have so many cake flavors and filling combinations to choose from, and they are all incredibly tasty. We went with an Espresso cake with Bailey’s Irish Crème filling, and it did not disappoint. Our guest loved it, as well as ourselves! It was so moist and the frosting was perfection. They designed us a beautiful three tier cake with fresh flowers for us to cut, and sheet cakes to be cut in the kitchen, which worked great for our budget. We highly recommend Jacques for any occasion!

Jacques pastries was included with our reception hall and they did not disappoint. We went in to do our tasting a few months before our wedding and they have numerous varieties of flavors to choose from as well as so many themed looking cakes. Our guests at our wedding all thought the cake was delicious.

Jacques created a wedding cake that was above anything we imagined. They were very attentive to details, and really listened to what we wanted. The staff was available any time I called with a question. Jacques was able to suggest ways to make my cake exactly how I wanted it and keep it within budget. The cake was very moist and obvious that it was not frozen or pre-made. There was not one piece of cake left on anyones table!!

Ooohhh....our wedding cake was FANTASTIC! We had a great experience at our cake tasting. The cake was delicious and the options seemed endless. Jacque's took the time to sit down with us and understand our personalities and our vision for our wedding.

Our cake was exactly as the picture showed and as the image in our heads. The cake was delicious and incredibly moist.

I cannot stop looking at pictures of my wedding cake from Jacques Pastries. They created a cake from ideas that I had, and it couldn't have been any more perfect. From my ideas, Jacques was able to make a wedding cake that was absolutely perfect for my wedding day. Even better, it was very reasonably priced, which I couldn't believe. Jacques also created a side cake with a football teams mascot that I thought would just be screened on. Jacques went above and beyond my expectations and actually made the mascot to put on top of the cake, which I saved because it is perfect! My family has used Jacques for many weddings, anniversary parties, bridal showers and more. This is the only place we will go for a special cake now!

Gorgeous and YUM! My cake was beautiful! 4 tier autumn cake. the bottom was chocolate with bailey's butter cream, top 3 tiers red velvet with chocolate butter cream. I gave them a picture of what i wanted and could not have been happier.

This cake was amazing!!!! It was a birch bark cake, because that was part of our theme, and it looked so beautiful! There were gorgeous fake sugar leaves that looked so real, and of course the cake tasted great! We had two layers of flavors, and I only tasted one (spice cake with apple preserves and cinnamon buttercream) but it was SO good! It was not dry at all, and you just wanted to keep eating it! The prices were also reasonable as well. We had a sheet cake made as well to cut down on costs of the large birch cake, so that worked out really well.

We had a very modest budget and Jacques was able to help us meet it using a creative alternative!

Jacques provided the wedding cake for our reception and everyone LOVED it!! We had a 4 tier cake the bottoms was chocolate cake with raspberry and chocolate truffle filling, the two middle tiers were vanilla cake with vanilla and black cherry filling, and the top tier was a spice cake with caramel, apple and cinnamon filling all covered with buttercream frosting. We got to eat all layers and they were all fabulous! We wanted to save the top layer for our first wedding anniversary but we are in Massachusetts and just had a snow storm that knocked the power out for 6 days... so the cake was not surviving in the freezer. We ate it though and it was AWESOME! Loved all flavors and got many many awesome compliments!

Amazing! Beautiful and delicious, I don't even like cake and I ate it all on tasting day! They were helpful and I feel I got a great cake for a great price!

Our wedding cake was included with our package at our reception site and I was very excited that the site uses Jacques because I'd been to weddings that had Jacques cakes and I always found them to be delicious. I think our cake was no different. It was beautifully decorated and delicious - spice cake with apple preserves and cinnamon buttercream was our favorite layer. The cake tasting was a blast too - the woman who helped us was very attentive without being overbearing and we were stuffed when we left! I've already told my husband that he's in charge of getting a cake from them every year for our anniversary. Delish!

We ordered a classic wedding cake from Jacques & it was beautiful. We combined a few different styles to get the look we wanted & the cake looked exactly as we pictured. We had 4 layers (250 guests) with 2 different flavors. Two layers were Almond cake with raspberry preserves & the other two layers were hazelnut cake with black cherry cream. Some cakes look nice & are not that tastey- this cake was beautiful & delicious! It tasted even better than at the cake tasting!

We love Jacques! I knew it was love when I went there for a tasting for my friends wedding several years ago. Since then we've also ordered several birthday cakes from there. So I'm not really sure why we even bothered going to several other vendors when finding our wedding cake vendor. After we went to Jacques for our cake tasting, it was decided! We worked with Tami and she was very attentive and listened to the details of everything we wanted from size, to designs, patterns, even the juxtaposition of the decor. We even sent her paint swatches to match the exact color we wanted as she didn't want to guess based on a color we showed her on an iPad. The other factors that sold us was the willingness to work within our budget, they met our budget even though we had 300 guests. All of the flavors were delicious but we finally settled on lemon with lemon/strawberry filling, carrot with cream cheese frosting and spice cake with cinnamon and caramel. Our guests raved about the cake and we cannot wait for our one year to eat some more cake :) (or now... their cake is so good!)

Out of this world! The cake we had made for our wedding not only looked amazing, but the favors were just as great the day of as when we went in for our tasting. We also got some of the hand made chocolates sold in the store and they too were fabulous. I plan on getting many more cakes made here in the future. It's also worth the drive for some of their pastures!!

I cannot say enough good things about Jacques Pastries! Our cake was gorgeous and absolutely delicious. We had a lot of very positive comments from guests. Jacques was very professional and easy to work with. They even accomodated a last minute cake design change (the week before). I would absolutely recommend them to anyone getting married in the area!

Our cake was part of our package with the Wentworth by the Sea. Like another bride mentioned, if we had wanted a very ornate cake, we probably would have had to pay some upgrades, but luckily we wanted simple anyway, and we were pleased with how it came out.

THE BEST CAKE YOU WILL EAT!! I am so happy that we drove from Boston to come and taste there cakes! It was worth the trip! We cut our top tier because we wanted to eat all of it! I also can't wait for our 1yr anniversary to have an excuse to order another cake from here!! I wish I lived closer!!

I loved Jacques! Not only were they affordable and willing to work within our budget, but also they created a beautiful cake that was exactly what we asked for! We were amazed at all the options we could chose from at the tasting and were really excited about our selections. Our guests loved our selections so much that I didn't even get a piece of the chocolate (which was the flavor I REALLY wanted!). They were professional and helped come up with a solution when our topper broke in shipping. They were even able to get flowers that my florist wasn't able to get. I was very impressed. They are really really good at what they do! I fully recommend them!

My wedding day was this past September 2nd. I went to Jacques Fine European Pastries back in April for a wedding cake. I had originally brought in a picture of a cake I wanted, but it turned out to be too expensive to produce. Tami was very nice and worked with our budget, she showed us a book with various cakes and I ended up finding a cake in the book that I liked more than the original that I wanted.They were very nice and took care of everything for me. It was one of the easiest parts of preparing for the wedding!

They were great, very creative with my unique cake design.

Every venue we looked at in the NH and Maine area had a book of cakes designed by Jacques so when we settled on Harbor Events in Portsmouth, NH we were thrilled that a cake from Jacques was included in our package. We scheduled our cake tasting early in the morning and we were full for the rest of the day because we couldn't stop eating the cake, filling and frosting combinations!! We decided on a 3 layer cake, with 2 different flavors - the traditional white cake with buttercream frosting and fresh strawberry filling and a middle layer of red velvet cake, buttercream frosting and baileys filling. We definitely do not want to wait the full year to have our top layer of the cake, because the thought of the cake now makes us want to dive right in again! They ordered flowers to match our reception arrangements and decorated the cake to perfection (with cascading dutch blue hydrangeas and white roses). It seems like every wedding I go to offers a really dry piece of cake and I heard people raving about our from Jacques the entire night! (There were rumors of people stealing 2nd slices too!). Highly recommend a cake from Jacques!

Our experience with Jacques was good. We provided them with an original cake topper we had designed and purchased from an outside vendor and they gladly secured it to our cake. My husband also had a unique request of funfetti cake and although they do not usually offer this, they made it happen! Thank you!

They were great to work with. Kathy had plenty of ideas and suggestions for us. The flavors were unbelievable and we were thrilled to be able to pick as may as we wanted. We planned out a really cool cake but I was underwhelmed when I saw my cake on the day of the wedding. It was not the typical quality of the work that they do (both of my sisters and two of my cousins used Jacques for thier wedding cake). We had a three tier cake. The bottom tier was great. The second tier was ok - the monogram letters were pooly drawn. The top tier was bad - it was a differnt height than the bottom 2 tiers, off centered, the icing flowers were melted and not the colors we disscussed. The cake tasted great though!

Our wedding cake was the most beautiful cake I had ever seen! From the first meeting and the tasting to the designing with Jacque's daughter, to seeing the cake on our wedding day - AMAZING! It was so much more than we could have imagined! And the taste - spectacular! Red velvet with chocolate truffle, chocolate with bkach cherry buttercream frosting, vanilla with raspberry preserves - every tier was delicious! Thank you!

Our wedding cake was just beautiful! We enjoyed having the tasting. We tried many different kinds of cakes and fillings. We got to choose a wonderful 3 tiered cake that was included with the price of my venue, The Exeter Inn. The cake tasted so fresh. The frosting was not overly sweet. We received many compliments on our cake, from the wonderful look of it to the taste of the different layers. The color was just what I wanted. The quality was perfect!

We used their website to get ideas of what we wanted our cake to look like and setup a tasting (the best part!) to decide on what flavors of cake and icing. We are very happy with our decision to use Jacques Fine European Pastries for our wedding cake.

We had three cakes delivered to a Lake Winni island and set up without a single problem!

We have used Jacques for both of our daughters weddings, one at Church Landing in Meredith, one at Wentworth By the Sea in New Castle. Both times they have been a delight to work with, the choices in fillings, frosting and cake flavors is incredible, and the taste is a gourmet delight! It is however the "personal" approach they take with each bride to be sure they come up with the "look" the bride is envisioning that makes this a truly special place to order your wedding cake from....it's so special we find ourselves ordering engagement cakes, birthday cakes too....wonderful bakery with a wonderful, talented staff!

The cake was AMAZING! My husband and I LOVED it and the guests just raved over it. It looked so beautiful and was exactly what we had envisioned. We didn't even freeze the top part...we dug right in because it looked so delicious! Yum!

Our wedding cake looked amazing - it was exactly what we had asked them to do. Actually, the cake looked BETTER than what we had asked them to do. And they were very polite during the tasting, and flexible about when we could come in (they even gave us an appointment on very little notice). The staff we interacted with were friendly and very responsive both over the phone and in person. My only complaint was that the taste of most of their cake fillings did not appeal to us, and that we were only given white and chocolate cake to taste. However, over all we were very satisfied and all of our guests told us how much they loved our cake!!

Super thrilled with Jacques! The lady we met with was so nice (and put up with my now-husband's brash sense of humor!), and the cake was BEAUTIFUL. So, so recommend!

Amazing cake and fabulous service. We got the Red Velvet cake with Bailys Irish Cream frosting. It was a wow, and their customer service was even better. Look forward to returning for the anniversary cake.

We had cupcakes, with a small cake on top for us to cut. Everything was absolutely delicious, and beautiful. The only negative, was they didn't call to confirm all the details, or to check in. Other then that everything was great!

Our wedding cake was so perfect. Tom heard exactly what we were requesting and created one of the most beautiful cakes we have ever seen. Each of the flavors we chose were amazing! We can't wait to eat the top in a few months!

Jacques provided both our favors (chocolate covered pretzels), as well as our wedding cake, and did an amazing job on both!! We received so many compliments on our wedding cake, both in it's appearance, and the amazing taste. The customer service we received was excellent, and we will definitely be driving all the way to suncook for all of our cake needs in the future. We also felt that it was extremely affordable, and was much lower cost than we had anticipated. It was an amazing cake, and we are so happy to have found them!

Tom was great to work with. He answered all of my questions and helped my mom and I decide the appropriate amount of cake for our guests. He actually encouraged us to order less cake than Mom and I thought we needed because he said we would have too much leftover. I appreciated his honesty.

At the reception I surprised my husband with a groom's cake with his favorite fish on it. I sent Jacques an image that they copied on to the cake perfectly. My wedding cake had dozens of fresh, fragrant flowers on it. It was the most beautiful cake I had ever seen. Both cakes were fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with our guests.

All of my phone calls were returned within 24 hours after leaving a message. All of my exchanges with Jacques were pleasant and helpful. I highly recommend them.

JACQUES IS AMAZING! From tasting to eating our cake on our wedding night, everything was perfect. The staff at Jacques is so professional and well-educated in terms of the art of creating a wedding cake and working with customers. Our cake was just as we had asked for, and even more delicious than we expected! In terms of value, our cake was included in our package price at the Renaissance Golf Club, so for us it was well worth it!

Jacques Pastries was part of our wedding package for our wedding cake at the Wyndham Andover Hotel, and we couldn't be more happy that they were. The cake they made for us was AWESOME! Our experience with Jacques was great! My only complaint would be the size of their bakery. Our first tasting/consultation seemed a bit rushed and their were tons of other couples either in tastings or waiting for their appointment. It was a bit overwhelming, and I felt rushed into choosing a cake. The bright side to all of this was that Jacques was very accomodating, and they encouraged me to come back for a 2nd meeting. The 2nd one wasn't half as busy, and the woman was very very helpful. I made changes to the cake just weeks before, and they were great about it. I even ordered a groom's cake and it was awesome!! Would definately recommend them :)

Our wedding cake was gorgeous! It tasted great too! The level of service was excellent at Jacques. I would highly recommend Jacques for your wedding cake. My husband and I had a package that included Jacques wedding cake at our reception site and that being said, were hestitant because we didn't think we'd get much choice in determining our cake. But, we had plenty of choice in determining flavor, size, garnishment, etc. Tom was great to work with!

Jacques Pastries was fabulous. They met with us and gave us one on one service but they also let my husband and I taste the cakes on our own so we could discuss in private what we did or didn't like. They didn't hover over you like some places did and give their opinion as to which one we should get. Also, Jacques cakes taste amazing!!! The cake I got was simple but contemporary which is something I wanted. They also coordinated with my florist to put matching flowers on the cake which turned out amazing. The only thing to complain about was that the delivery person was suppose to put my cake topper on when he/she came to the reception hall and they did not. So my mom had to put it on herself. But as a bride if thats the only thing that I can complain about thats saying something huh? They were amazing and the cake spoke for itself. Thanks Jacques!

The tasting consisted of trying any and all cakes and butter cream, filling that you want. They had so many choices and helped to arrange the best flavors. They also put together an amazing grooms cake sight unseen.

The cake was absolutely spectacular, and tasted delicious! MANY compliments from guests! The only feedback I would say is that during our initial consultation I didn't feel the staff was "with us" - it was the only time I didn't feel treated "As a bride", so to speak. But this was minor - she has nothing more to do with our serivice, cake, or day! I would defintely recommend Jacque's.

Jacques did such a great job with our cake. They let us taste everything so we were able to pick the best cake for us. Jacques also let us design our own cake and put such detail into all of our snow flake designs!

I had my wedding at the Exeter Inn on February 5,2011....Jacques Fine European Pastries was included in the wedding package. When we went for our tasting, we were so impressed with the moist cake and all the different choices for flavors.

The design of the cake was simple, but so elegant. I was so happy with how the cake looked - it was exactly what I wanted. They really listen to what you want and they nailed the design perfectly. The cake was SO good. Everyone loved the cake....I am not sure I can wait a year to eat the top layer!! I would highly recommend Jacques to anyone....truly amazing.

I can't even begin to tell anyone how absolutely perfect these people are!!! I worked with an awesome young lady (that looked exactly like Alice Cullen but thats beside the point) that was always really easy to get in touch with. She was very patient and really nice. They are very willing to work with people and they made me a beautiful personalized cake that perfectly matched my colors and was waaaaay better then I ever could have imagined! I cried when I saw it after it was delivered!!!

They give you a perfect product that is not only beautiful to look at but tastes out of this world. I've never had anything better then that cake! I was to die for good! When I had my appointment and got to try everything they were totally patient and had everything I asked for ready for me! they brought it all out and let me mix and match till I had the PERFECT combination. I walked out of that appointment with complete conviction that I made the perfect choice and they delivered and then some!

I don't think there was anyone that could have done a better job then they did.

Working with the team at Jacques was amazing, they were always helpful and the cake was just delicious. They worked closely with me to design me the cake of my dreams as well as the most outstanding tasting cake ever! When my head count was changed by 50 people less- they were quick to make the adjustments to the cake sizes and refund some money. Just fantastic and the cake was exactly what I wanted and tasted fantastic!!

The cake provided by Jacques was DELICIOUS!! It was fresh upon arrival and was so moist! The buttercream frosting was so smooth and yummy! All my guests loved the presentation and taste of the cake!

Our three tier spice cake with caramel buttercream and apple preserves was in a word...DELICIOUS! All of our guests ate every last bite up and raved about how much they loved the cake. It was moist, fresh and extremely flavorful as well!!!

People are still talking about how great the cake was and how they loved the design. Jacques was so flexible with all of my changes over the months and never made me feel bad about them

Jacques Pastries is an excellent venue for great cake. They were part of our package at wentworth by the sea, but if you want anything other than a simple butter cream cake with ribbon on each tier or fresh flowers, prepare to pay for an upgrade.

We fell in love with a designer cake design we saw on Martha Stewart. It had fondant and sugar paste panels with intricate cut outs and two sugar dragonflies.

I will have to preface this by saying that I have incredibly high standards. They did not meet the standards I was hoping to see.

Originally we changed the design to buttercream using a round design instead of hexagons to make it affordable for us. Then the week before the wedding they realized it would be easier to do the original style smaller and keep cake in the back to serve everyone.

Eh - it was nice, but it was not as nice as I had hoped. The cake however was incredible. We had a fair amount left over and ate it all up. They were very friendly and kind and completely on the ball when it came to contacting me.

Very pleased with how the cake looked and tasted!

Great service and absolutely delicious cakes. We got the cake we designed and it looked even better than expected. The taste was incredible and I just can't wait to eat my top cake in 1 year. OMGosh is all I have to say!!! You want your cake to look good obviously...Jacques has no problem getting that accomplished and gave me exactly what I asked for. However we also wanted a yummy cake. I had a mild "food-gasm" when I tasted this cake at the crowne plaza's food tasting. In fact my husband loved them so much he didnt go to the actual cake tasting becuase he loved all the flavors he had tried and told me to get whatever. We went with Almond with amaretto anc chocolate truffle filling, and chocolate with raspberry filling. SO GOOD I MAY HAVE TO ORDER SOME FOR BDAYS.

Jacques Pastries made a beautiful and delicious cake that was a perfect fit for our wedding! Our reception site included this in our meal package, which was a very big plus. We loved getting to have a personalized cake tasting. The staff was very friendly and everything turned out better than we had imagined!

We LOVED our wedding cake from Jacques Pastries. My fiance and I are not huge cake people, but the cake flavors, icings, and fillings we chose for our four-tier wedding cake were so delicious that we are now swayed. Jacques was so flexible and accomodating that working with them was a pleasure. They worked with our florist to use the same flowers on the cake as in the bouquets/centerpieces. We had four tiers and each was a different flavor and it was difficult to choose which was the best. We received so many compliments from guests on the taste and the beauty of the cake. After the wedding, my husband and I were eating slices from the top tier (which we took home) at least once, if not twice daily. Thank you, Jacques Pastries, for our amazingly gorgeous and scrumptious cake!!

When we went in for our initial consultation at Jacques, we were overwhelmed with how yummy the cakes tasted. We were so impressed with the ideas that our consultant, Cathy, had given us. We decided to go with a design that reflected the style of our invitations. A week before the wedding, Cathy called me to confirm our order and the cake design. It was clear that Cathy took great pride in her work and really cared about making her client happy. When I saw the finished product, I was blown away. Cathy did a spectacular job! We had a very ornate filigree design on our invites, and the design on our cake matched it perfectly.

We were VERY happy with our wedding cake and the customer service we received. Thank you Jacques Pastries!!

the cake was awesome, we loved the design we picked out. We also had a birthday cake make for my dad and it matched the same colors as our wedding. we would highly recommend them

The cake was delicious of course, as it always is. I did have a few problems... For my wedding cake, I had asked for fresh flowers cascading on each tier and that is not what I got. Not even close. The fresh flowers were very sparse and were far from my vision that I worked with them to create. I was very dissapointed when I saw my cake. They also provided my wedding favors and were so wonderful to work with me to do custom colors on the chocolates to match my wedding colors. My problem here is that they put splashes of yellow on my chocolates when there is no yellow in my color palette. This may seem like a little detail but not to a particlular bride like myself. They could have contacted me to ask if this color was okay considering they had the swatches of my wedding colors and could see that yellow was clearly not in my color scheme.

Delicious!!! Everyone ate their cake and there were no leftovers. I cant wait until our 1st anniversary to eat the top tier.

The cake was delicious! I sent in a swatch of my bridesmaid dress color and they were able to recreate the color for the cake!

I cannot recommend Jacques enough. From conception to completion, it was a pleasure working with them. At the tasting, we were impressed by the personal attention paid to us and the wide selection of cake flavors and fillings. In designing our cake, they had many examples to choose from contained in a book of photographs of some of their cakes. They were also very willing to accommodate ideas that we had, and we ended up choosing decorative elements from several different cakes. The week before our wedding, they confirmed all of the details with us, and were very willing to accommodate some last minute changes to the design and worked very hard to match our wedding decor perfectly. As for the cake itself, it was one of if not the best cake I have ever tasted! The frosting is light and creamy, and the cake is so moist. The cake was not sugary sweet like so many of the cheap cakes I have tasted. Again, I was delighted with the service that I received and the end product!

The cake was delicious. Everyone loved it. It looked beautiful and Jacques was always responsive to my paniced bride phone calls.

The cake was absolutely amazing.. we actually had half of the top of the cake the next day and then out the rest of it in the freezer for our year anniversary! And they were really great to deal with also!!

Loved my cake! I also liked how Jacques contacted me to consult on a new idea for my wedding cake instead of what I had initially had in mind. The end result looked much better than my original plan and they seemed to know that..afterall, they are the experts! Not only did my cake look amazing, but it tasted better than any wedding cake I had before. Jacques is phenomenal!

I had a summer wedding and along with the lemon and the cocunut I wanted Lime. They didn't have it. They went WAY out of their way to test a lime, they liked it, we liked it, it's part of their menu now and we thought it was a wonderful, best ever wedding cake.

Being from MA my husband and I were only able to meet with Jacques once but that is all that it took to do the tasting and set all of the details. Jacques was very accommodating and I felt like the tasting was limitless! When I saw the cake at the wedding, I literally gasped. It was exactly what we had discussed down to the real flower arrangements and ribbon detail. Thanks to Jacques for a great experience and I may be biased but I think it was the best wedding cake I ever tasted!

Working with Jacques was a pleasure. We didn't have a lot of money to spend on a cake but they worked with us and we got a beautiful and delicious cake that was within our budget. They only complaint I have is there was a problem with our bill and when we called the man on the phone was very rude about fixing it. However when we got our credit card statement it had been adjusted. Other than that everything was perfect. I would def use them again in the future and recommend them.
