Jamaica's Cakes

We weren't able to make one of Jamaica's cake consultation times, so she prepared a sample pack of cakes, frostings, and fillings for us. That was awesome and so convenient. Jamaica is super nice to correspond with over email, and responds quickly. When we picked up the cake sample, the bakery staff was very nice and helpful as well. Unfortunately we didn't fall in love with any of the cakes we tried - many of them were too dense (we're having a morning wedding, so we wanted something lighter). However, their lemon pound cake was wonderful, and I enjoyed some of their fresh fruit fillings.

Our wedding cake was from Jamaica's Cakes. Jamaica's bakery is amazing, and our wedding cake was fabulous. Jamaica is a pleasure to work with. We love that she used all natural ingredients. Each tier was a three layer cake and we could pick a different filling for each layer. Also, the cake for each tier could vary. The variety of fillings that we could select from were delicious, and we had a hard time deciding!

We tried a few different cake shops, but the service and quality at Jamaica's cakes definitely topped the rest. Jamaica and her husband own this bakery, and their love for their work shows. When we arrived for our tasting, Jamaica herself presented us with two platters full of every different possible option they could offer us. We were able to customize our cake to our exact specifications right then and there! Their prices were a little bit higher than bigger shops like Porto's, but the personalized service definitely was worth the minor difference in cost.

She makes EVERYTHING from scratch! I'm a plain vanilla and pound cake girl but I'm definitely leaning towards her chocolate cake. I can't imaging myself paying lots of $$ for cake but I think Jamaica's cakes is worth every penny.
