James has been so much fun to work with! I know photography- as an art- is pretty subjective but while I was shopping for a photographer he had 2 pics in his portfolio that absolutely sold me. His services aren't the cheapest but also weren't near the most expensive I saw and when it cam to photos we were willing to shell out a bit more for quality and style that we liked. James is a true professional, kept us in the loop every step of the way and has an awesome sense of humor to boot (seriously, you don't think that's a big deal now- but wait until your wedding nerves kick in, you'll want someone who's cool and calm and can make you laugh)!

James is an amazing photographer. My worry, as a bride, when picking a photographer was, will he be there at the special moments? James absolutely was. From my amazing engagement photos, to my gorgeous wedding shots, James captured every moment. A: I primarily shoot digital with professional 35mm digital bodies; however, I am also experienced with and equipped to shoot medium format film.
Q: How would you describe your style?
A: My style is a blend of portraiture and documentary photography, or what is commonly referred to as an "editorial" look. Having studied photography in the days of film (my first camera was a manual Minolta 35mm), I choose to photograph my subjects with an emphasis on traditional photographic technique rather than on digital manipulation. That's not to say that my images are any less vibrant or modern, just that they are not heavily reliant upon the latest trends in digital post-production (textures, heavy vignetting, artificial "softening", antiquing, cross-processed colors, oversharpening, etc.) that will appear dated in the near future. My goal is to produce images that will stand the test of time, not look "soooo 2010".
