He deserves more than 5 STARS! James was amazing! He was affordable, easy to work with, flexible, and best of all, our footage is outstanding! I never imagined that I could relive these special moments he captured, but I still get all giddy inside when I watch our DVD. We have now been married for 7 months and it is a MUST on our monthly anniversary to watch our video. He has a fast turn around time once you give him your music of choice. I love the parts of our footage that he choreographed with the music! I can't brag on him enough that he gave us the best gift from our wedding day and that is our amazing video. Thanks!

James was very easy to work with. After receiving the video of our wedding, both my husband and I were thrilled at how they turned out. I wasn't sure if I wanted a videographer for our wedding, but after seeing how it turned out, I am so glad that I did. I got to see all of the ceremony that I missed while trying not to be seen! I would definitely recommend James Michael Smith Videography to anyone!

Iloved working with James! I looked all around for people locally to do our wedding video. No one was going to give us what we wanted, so I got on a bridal web site and found James. He was great Ie-mailed him an looked at his other work and I loved it. At first I didnt really want to trust anyone off the net but im glad I did because I loved the job he did. The video was more than I had ever expected! I love his work. If your looking for someone to do a wonderful job James is your guy.

James Michael Smith Videography did such an AMAZING job on our wedding video!! I think my husband and I have watched it 6 or 7 times and we haven't been married 3 months yet! James is very professional. He went over everything before hand, so when the wedding day came, he wasn't asking questions or needing anything from me or my husband (the last thing you need on your wedding day, as a bride, is another person asking you questions). Book James Michael Smith Videography and let him create a video with great sound and picture, and all the unforgettable moments from your wedding day!

We were very pleased with our wedding videography. James was very professional and managed to follow the fairly strict rules of the church requiring him to be unobtrusive during the ceremony. He was great to work with and was always really fast responding to me when I communicated via email. Our wedding video is very cool. He did a great job capturing unique angles and perspectives that gave it a very artistic feel. I also was really impressed with the editing. The reception highlights reel included all of the special moments of the reception and is great to show off to friends and family. The DVD menus were very well done and he added in some special feature clips that we weren't even expecting such as a "Dance Off" feature. He included the songs we gave him at appropriate locations throughout the video which makes it even more personalized and fun. He more than surpassed our expectations!
Awesome guy....awesome work
James Michael Smith was a pleasure to work alongside with. As a photographer and also in this business it's nice to see someone who is so prepared and ready for the day. He was never intrusive but always seemed to be right where he needed to be at the perfect time. I would recommend him to anyone and hopefully we will be able to work with him in the future.
James is a super nice guy and very talented with his videography skills!
Simply Awesome!!
About James Michael Smith Videography
FAQ for James Michael Smith Videography
-My primary camera is a Panasonic HVX-200. It’s a 3CCD camera. If that means nothing to you, the thing to take away is that I use professional video equipment to make sure your wedding is captured professionally and beautifully.
What about audio and editing?
-I also have professional audio equipment that I use to make sure that your wedding sounds as good as it looks. I edit your DVD with Final Cut Pro and DVD Studio Pro to ensure the highest quality results.
What can I expect to see on my DVD?
- It depends on your package. If I cover both your wedding and the reception you’ll find the ceremony in full length on the DVD, an edited highlight reel of the reception (usually 5-10 minutes long), along with any other events in full length (such as the first dance, the toasts, etc).
How long does it take for me to get my video?
- Typically I ship out the DVDs within 2 weeks of the wedding. You’re excited to see your DVD and I’m excited to show it to you. Let’s just say I pretty much always beat the photographer, I’m just saying ;-).
Can I order extra copies of the DVD?
-You betcha. For only $15/copy I’ll make you as many as you need. Also, when I ship you your finished DVD, you own the rights to that video. Unlike other videographers, I grant you full rights to make as many copies of your wedding DVD as you’d like for free.
Can I request music for the DVD?
Yes! In fact I ask each bride and groom to give me a list of 3 upbeat and 3 slower songs that they love and I use those to create the DVD. Remember, it’s all about you. This is your video, the way you want it.
I’ve got some special requests for things I want filmed, can I do that?
- Absolutely, you’re the boss. Let me know what you’re wanting and I’ll work with you to put together a package perfect for your needs. No two weddings are the same, so why should any two wedding videos be?
So how long have you been doing this for James?
- I’ve been filming wedding for over 5 years now. I’ve literally filmed weddings from Boston to Los Angeles. I have experience you can trust.
Why are all the other videographers so expensive? I mean $2,000 for a wedding video? Are they serious?
- My thoughts exactly. Beautiful, custom wedding videography shouldn’t cost an arm and leg. You worked hard for your money and shouldn’t have to blow it on an overpriced videographer. I believe in hard work and ripping people off just isn’t my thing.
How obtrusive is having a videographer?
- That depends on the videographer. Some videographers can be very obtrusive while filming. However, I pride myself on capturing your big day without being obtrusive. In fact, I’ve had several brides tell me that they barely noticed me at their weddings and that’s what I strive for. Beautiful coverage doesn’t equate to obtrusive filming.
Do you travel? How much would that cost me?
-Yes, I love to travel. I invoice travel at cost. If you’re getting married over 30 miles away from Tulsa or Fayetteville, I kindly ask that you cover my travel expenses. I’ll send you gas receipts with the invoice so you know you’re only paying what it cost me and not a cent more. If you live more than 3 hours away, I also ask that you put me up in a hotel so I can make it home safely the next day. Finally, I ask for the $100 deposit at least a week before the wedding to cover my initial expenses. I’ve filmed weddings in 6 different states and can’t wait to come to yours.
How does payment work?
- A $100 deposit is due before the wedding to secure the date. The balance is due on or before the wedding day.
So how do I book you?
- If you’re ready to book you can either email me (James@JamesMichaelSmith.com) or call me 479-633-7773 (heck, you can even tweet @ me @WedVid). When I hear from you, I’ll check to make sure your date is available. The sooner you book the better, I’d hate to hear from you and already be booked ☹.
