We LOVE James!! Not only is he wonderful to work with, he takes AWESOME photos! I highly recommend James.

We did both our engagement and wedding photos with him and we got something like 300+ photos. He describes his photos as journalistic, but I would would say it is more like hidden camera. He is able to capture the tender, unguarded moments. In fact, our best photos were the "oops!" photos between me dictating Husband to pose. (BTW... I am a... er... larger bride and let me tell you, I have NEVER looked so good! Jeepers! You should see my legs in some of these shots. Move over Victoria Secret Models... I am in...

Some people are sports photographers or wedding photographers or portrait photographers. Well, James is a born photographer, who lives and breathes capturing moments of all sorts - and beautifully. I've never seen anyone combine vanity with reality quite like James does. He turns every step of the wedding day into a photographic masterpiece.

Hi, how are you?

Welcome to James Ramsay Photography!

I am a trained photojournalist that you can hire to document your wedding day.

It's my view that brides deserve to LOOK as good as they FEEL on their wedding day.

I photograph weddings in all parts of Minnesota including Northern Minnesota and am willing to travel to any destination for your special day! I recently booked an October wedding in Mexico! Normal rates apply plus travel and basic accomodations. I do not charge for mileage within Minnesota.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

Yes - I have extensive experience shooting in a variety of lighting situations

Is your media preference film or digital?

Digital offers several advantages. Faster turnaround time for proofs, more quality pictures, the ability to shoot in low light situations. Perhaps most importantly, if a photographer shoots infrared film, you are stuck with what the film captures whereas with digital the image could be reinterpreted.

How many photographers do you work with?

I typically bring an assistant and you have the option of a second photographer

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

One event per day

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

Yes

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

Two cameras, 5 lenses, camera flash, professional studio lights, various other camera accessories

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Yes

Do you charge hourly or full day?

Full Day - No hourly fees. No time limits. Our goal is complete coverage of your wedding day story.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

It is my mission to tell your wedding day story from start to finish. I come early to scout the location and stay late so I don't miss anything. So I don't charge for extra hours.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

Usually the meal is the best time to take a break - although I communicate with the couple to make sure I know the schedule for the toasts, dancing, etc.

Do you charge for travel?

The sooner you book with James Ramsay Photography, the more likely it will be that we can get a great deal on travel and offer you the best value possible.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Less than six weeks to see the proofs. 48 hour rush proofing available for $250.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?

Web gallery for your convenience, feel free to forward the photos to friends and family.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

Until you select your fine art prints

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Yes - couples are also free to use the photos

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Yes

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

High Resolution Digital Files are available

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes

What kind of albums do you offer?

Leather, Animal Friendly Leather, Hardback Book with display box

When will the client get the final album?

Six weeks from order date
