Jasmine Rae Bakery

Jasmine provided cupcakes for my wedding in Berkeley in October, 2010. She created a number of unique flavor combinations based on my husband's and my preferences for our tasting. There were so many that we liked, we had a hard time narrowing it down to just four. The flavors we ended up choosing were a huge hit with all of our guests! Jasmine also proved to be EXTREMELY flexible, adding an additional two dozen cupcakes to our order the day before the wedding when we panicked and thought we hadn't ordered enough. We were a little concerned that Jasmine wasn't responding to all of our calls and emails, and we didn't have our contract finalized until a few weeks before the wedding. While this was a little nerve wracking in the planning stage, in the end we had absolutely no reason to be concerned. The cupcakes were delivered, as requested and on time, and they looked beautiful.

Jasmine's cakes are deliciously creative. We had lots of fun tasting her unique flavor combinations and coming up with our own to try. We had three flavors and everyone raved about the cake, regardless of which flavors the ended up with (our venue didn't let people choose...) Jasmine is also very talented in decorative arts - the sugar flowers she made looked exactly like the photos I had sent her and she was able to integrate design themes from both my husband and me to create a beautiful cake. I was at times concerned by her responsiveness to emails and voice mails, but she absolutely delivered above our expectations.

Jasmine created the most beautiful and delicious wedding cake for us in August.

Prior to meeting with Jasmine you fill out a survey of all of your personal likes/dislikes with regards to flavor. At the tasting she has several cupcakes created for you based on the survey. We were sold at first bite and booked on the spot. Her flavor creations are delicious and although it may sound like a lot is going on in one cupcake/cake it all works together so well.

We ended up with a four tier cake with three flavors:

1. Mocha cake, ganache, chocolate frosting, caramel and sea salt
2. Chardonnay cake, mint raspberries, mascarpone frosting
3. Banana walnut cake, lemon caramel, cream cheese frosting

Then she covered it all in her delicious fondant. We received many many compliments on our cake. People could not decide on their favorite layer as they were all so amazing.

Her pricing is extremely reasonable. And, as others have mentioned, she is a wonderfully sweet and professional person.

We can't wait to work with her again...and again...and again...

Jasmine is EXTREMELY gifted in the area of desserts AND design. She made us a 4 tiered cake with layers of decadent vanilla and chocolate cake separated by layers of strawberry, chocolate ganache, and goat cheese cream cheese! It was AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS - all of our guests commented on how good it was. She also sculpted a beautiful ivory tree of life and fastened it onto the front of the cake and used a brush to continue the branches onto the body of the cake. It was absolutely perfect. Can't recommend her enough. She will provide you with a few questions to better understand the flavors you are interested in and offer an array of cupcake tasters for you to try. 5 stars!

Jasmine was one of the best parts of our wedding, without a doubt. From her website, which showcases her flair for creative flavors and beautiful artistry, we expected great things -- and from our initial tasting with her, we were sold and booked her on the spot. Because of a cake-cutting fee at our venue, we went with cupcakes (although her cakes are truly works of art); but her cupcakes are really no ordinary cupcakes. They are the most tender, flavorful, well-balanced desserts I have ever had -- she can create virtually any cake and frosting flavor combination for you (she did custom jasmine green tea with mango filling cupcakes for us, alongside Mexican chocolate cupcakes with truffle filling), and she makes them look beautiful as well. Jasmine also created totally custom flavored chocolate truffles for us, along with a beautiful mini-cake for cutting. She will customize everything about the cakes for you, not just flavors but also sweetness level and intensity of flavors. Throughout the whole process she was incredibly sweet to work with and very responsive, always offering up good ideas and really putting her heart into her work. If you're getting married in the SF Bay Area, you won't find a more wonderful baker than Jasmine!
