Born in Columbia, South Carolina Jacqueline Taylor has performed with many of the leading orchestras around the Southeast and is the current Principal Cellist for Asheville Symphony Orchestra. Jacqueline has soloed with Asheville Symphony, Brevard Chamber Orchestra, Augusta Symphony and the South Carolina Philharmonic. Jacqueline is known to the cellist world for her stand in for Janos Starker with only 23 hours’ notice performing the Elgar Cello Concerto.
Highly regarded as an orchestral musician, Jacqueline has sat principal in many regional orchestras and has played under the baton of several acclaimed conductors including Yoel Levi, James Depriest and Harold Fabermann. Jacqueline is a founding member of several chamber groups including Sterling Chamber Players, Upton Trio and Jacqueline Taylor & Friends.
