AMAZING quality and service -- thank you! We met the folks at Jay's Catering through our venue, the Ebell Club of Long Beach (exclusive catering vendor there, and that really works!!). We got to know them through our September tasing event, which was great fun and gave us lots to work with as we planned our January 2012 wedding. Teresa Karcher worked closely with us to plan a very special (buffet style, premium bar, cocktail reception preceding dinner) function. It was clever, creative, and yummy ... and met the needs of our very diverse group of friends and family. On our big day, the Jay's and Ebell team delivered an absolutely flawless evening. They worked brilliantly together -- cared for every detail -- and even packed up the wonderful leftovers for us to take home! I can't say enough about their great teamwork, their care for our guests, and the spirit of FUN they brought to our party (especially the bartenders!). Thank you for a wonderful evening!!

My experience with Jay's Catering was wonderful. Ann helped me plan everything. I love how they are all-inclusive so I didn't need to find different vendors for catering and rentals. They also include the wedding cake in the price for food. We thought they would be more expensive but its actually a great deal because they include more than the other companys for a similar price. The food was absolutely to die for! Just delicious! Everything was just perfect. I would recommend Jay's to anyone who wants one less this to worry about on your big day. It was so perfect!

Jay's Catering did an amazing job. Their food is flavorful. You get a lot for your money. The staff is professional and ensures your event is run efficiently. We received a lot of great comments on the food. I would use Jay's catering again for future events.

If you're looking for french macaroons for your upcoming wedding or event Jay's Catering is the place to go. They can make them in any flavor in whatever color and quantity you want. I had them make the macaroons for my recent wedding and they were delicious. The pricing is extremely reasonable and they are friendly and easy to work with.

Jay's Catering did a wonderful job for my June 18th wedding. I really enjoyed the buffet dinner that they provided. We got the lemongrass chicken and miso salmon. I loved the chicken so much - I couldn't believe how juicy and delicious it was! My husband raved about the salmon. The hors d'oeurves we had (crabcake and beef skewers) were great at the tasting but didn't seem to hold up as well after being passed around at the wedding. Best of all was that they were able to make the special dessert we wanted - hot churros, fried onsite, with vanilla ice cream and two dipping sauces. The staff there that night were very professional and did a very nice job. I felt compared to other caterers, the value was great. It pained me to have to pay so much for every piece of silverware and linen, and I didn't realize I would need to rent extra tables for the caterers to set up on. However, this seems to be the case for many wedding caterers, so I can't fault Jay's for that. Jay's was also very flexible and allowed us to bring in one of our own special hors d'oeurves and alcoholic beverages for the bar.

Jay's Catering was probably the best thing that ever happened to us. They were AMAZING. We got the best compliments on food from our guests, and many people told us it was the best food they had EVER gotten at a wedding. Also, Teresa (our event coordinator) made everything so easy and seamless. Nick (our day of event captain) was super friendly, and went above and beyond to make our special day perfect. We cannot even begin to explain how amazing they were, and how every penny was well worth it.

Jay's was amazing! We received so many compliments on the food, and we couldn't agree more!! Everything was so good, and the staff were so courteous and professional. We couldn't have asked for anything better, hands down! And, they even gave us the leftover food!!! Our consultant, Teresa, was a dream to work with the whole time, and no question or task was too big or small for her. She is absolutely one of the sweetest people in the business! Thank you Teresa and Jay's!

I recently had the pleasure of working with Nicolle on my big day. She was very responsive and professional and came in under my budget! And trust me, that was hard to do! The food was great and many of my guests asked me who the caterer was. They were very impressed! I had never used Jay's before but I will certainly use them again. Everyone there made my event very special! Thank you!

I use Jay's all the time for both personal and professional events. I find ALL of the coordinators and staff extremely helpful and insightful. I have worked with several coordinators and find them very professional and responsive. I am not very creative and they always find ways to make the events fun and interesting, with varying menus, decor, etc. I have been a customer of Jay's for 8 years and highly recommend them to everyone I know. There food is great and the prices cannot be beat!

Steve and I live in northern California and most of our friends and family live just as far, if not farther, away from Dana Point as we. So, when my son told us that he and the love of his life were getting married at a resort in the area, we wondered how on earth we could best host an event for the people we cherish most in this world. We decided that we needed to host both a rehearsal dinner on Friday evening before the wedding and a Sunday brunch the day after the wedding. Both parties needed to accommodate at least 130 guests as the majority of the wedding attendees were traveling thousands of miles to join in the celebration. Not to worry. Our contact at the rehearsal dinner venue pulled out her extensive list of dozens of caterers and said, “We work with many, many caterers, but Jay’s Catering is the one you want”. She was oh, so right! Our Event Coordinator, Lynn Likens, guided this bewildered duo through the process from start to finish with skill and confidence. She knew exactly what we wanted and helped us find the perfect expression of those thoughts whether it was helping us choose the entrees and linen colors for our Mexican Fiesta rehearsal dinner, or recommending a wonderful and reasonably priced florist to create our beautiful table centerpieces. Lynn’s recommendation of food to serve our guests was fabulous from the Fiesta buffet combined with wild cherry salads in martini glasses (a favorite with our guests) and the dessert table with caramel custard flan; to the delicious vegetarian quiche for our Sunday brunch. I have a special place in my heart for Lynn as she was always there for us even when all we needed was a bit of hand holding to settle our nerves. It felt as though we were working with a dear friend. Jay’s staff at both our events could not have done a more wonderful job. Shannon flawlessly coordinated the rehearsal dinner and Richard directed our Sunday brunch with ease. The presentation at both events was beautiful! The tables were always filled with sumptuous, hot food and were always pretty. I didn’t have to do anything. Shannon, Richard and their crews just knew what was needed where and when and did it with warmth and charm that was noted by our guests. Brilliant! At the end of the week, my son put his arms around us and thanked us for hosting the rehearsal dinner and Sunday brunch saying that the wedding, “would not have been the same without these two wonderful events.”Thank you Jays. You were absolutely magic!

I was reading a few of the reviews below and have to agree that Jays did an amazing job! We had our wedding at the beach and it's not the easiest task to have to set up tables and chairs, etc in the sand, but they pulled it off. Claudio came out for a walk thru and gave us a floor plan so I could see how everything would look. I was getting tons and tons of things from them, all my rentals and of course my food.I have to admit that Nicolle is nice, but I would try and get someone else as a coordinator. She wasn't always easy to reach by phone, but there were moments when we could communicate and than I couldn't reach her. I wasn't a crazy bride and I prayed it would all come together, which it totally did on my day! That's all that matters. Yes, you will have to repeat yourself, and it's probably best if everything is emailed so you have it in writing. I have no idea if were charged more at the end for certain things, since we did some last minute editing, but all our guests loved Jay's! The servers were awesome too! Making sure we were getting some appetizers and warm plates of food as well! Love it all and one of the more affordable options out there.

My wedding planner, Eulina Morris of Creating a Remarkable Event suggested Jay's Catering. I am so happy that she did. Their food was fabulous, the event specialist Toni Wiley was professional and provided so much insight on creating the best event. Toni Wiley is out of the Carson Community Center. There is a sub-office in that city; however, I did my wedding at the Petersen Automotive Museum. Toni did a walk through and worked with me on my roughest challenges. The day of the wedding, head chef Chuck was absolutely wonderful. He was patient, and very, very mannerable and made sure that I ate.My letter to Toni & Jay's Catering is below.Dearest Toni,I write this letter with the deepest gratitude to you and your staff at my 10-10-10 wedding. The food was absolutely delicious. The staff was this well-oiled magnificent machine. And the layout for my reception was excellent.First, I want to thank you for walking this journey with me since May. Your menu suggestions were given with the utmost knowledge and professionalism. Even when I was going back-and-forth with the menu, you were patient and provided a professional perspective that I needed and made me know that you sincerely cared. From the budgeting to the food choices, you were top-notch in guiding this experience.Your advice and genuine interest in ensuring that I had a grand day was the perfect ingredient to the wedding be such as success. Everyone, I mean everyone raved about the food. It was so good. Even my 92-year-old grandmother who rarely eats in public, let alone stay for a social outing cleaned her plate and ravaged the leftovers this afternoon. Also, I must commend the staff that catered the party. Chuck was such a sweetheart! He came over to my table several times to make sure that I was satisfied. His personable demeanor really calmed me down and got me to finally eat! And I was so glad that I did because I wolfed my food down. That red snapper Toni was amazing. The buffet line was perfect and moved with efficiency. And the rest of the staff were extremely nice to everyone and greeted folk as they were served. The food was the icing on the cake! Good food at my family functions is like blood and water to the bones. In closing, I am so proud to say that I used Jay's Catering and look forward to utilizing wonderful food and service again.Warmest Regards,Kaia Niambi Shivers

UMM...YUMMMM....YUMMMMMMMM!I used Jays catering for my wedding reception of 200 people in Sept 2010 and I must say they were AMAZING! I would never ever think of using any other catering company other than them for any future events, parties, or recommendations. Nicolle was my coordinator and she did a GREAT job of making sure everything was perfect for my wedding. Our wedding was in San Juan Capistrano which is about 30-40 minutes away from Jays and the food was hot and delicious for my reception. The staff was great and made sure we got everything we needed. For reference, our menu was: Chicken Veronique, Vegetarian Rotollo Blozano, Rosemary & garlic roasted potatos, hericot vert, and pear salad. I would recommend that exact menu to anyone- we had SO MANY COMPLIMENTS ON HOW GREAT THE FOOD WAS! Jays also did our cake which was the best wedding cake Ive ever tasted. I cannot say enough good things about this company and their level of quality and service. FIVE STARS!

Jay's Catering provided the food for our wedding and it was delicious. We got SO much food for the price ($36pp) and I couldn't find a better deal anywhere. Seriously the food was so yummy and there were so many choices of what to serve. In addition, the packages were very flexible when it came to combining packages and adding on. It was really great that we could do the party rentals from the same coordinating so it wasn't another thing I had to organize.Regarding the coordinator: Nicolle was the coordinator we used to plan the whole wedding. We mostly communicated over email but she was very flexible and accomodating when I wanted to come in and view what my rental options were. Towards the end of the wedding planning a couple days did go by before I heard from here, which I found frustrating but everything worked out in the end. The week before our wedding Nicolle went on vacation and Alayne filled in. In the short amount of time I worked with her, I bet she is an amazing coordinator. She responded right away and was very helpful and friendly.Regarding the captain and service the night of the wedding: Sofia was our captain the night of the wedding and she was great. She was very attentive to the bride and the groom and brought us everything that we needed. The servers were very friendly and on top of everything and the bartender kept the drinks flowing all night. At the end of the night Sofia arranged for all of our extra food to be boxed up so we could take it with us, which I had no idea would be happening.I definitely recommend Jay's Catering as your wedding catering. And it helps that they work with a number of venues in Southern California so they are pros at all of the hottest venues.

All I have to say is....THANK GOD FOR ALAYNE of Jay's Catering! She is their saving grace for sure. My husband and I booked Jay's Catering to cater our wedding reception, as they were one of the preferred vendors of Casa Romantica (our reception site) and their prices were very decent and affordable. We were assigned Nicolle as our event coordinator. BOY WAS SHE A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you decide to have Jay's Catering cater your event, I highly recommend you avoid this woman at all costs as your event coordinator.
When we first met Nicolle, during a tasting at Jay's back in September, she came off as friendly and easy to work with. However, that all seemed to change after we booked with Jay's. Thank God, my husband and I had hired our own wedding planner as she mainly dealt with Nicolle.
We wanted to have a martini bar at our reception and our total guest count was at 126 adults and 10 children, a total of 136 people. On our contract, Nicolle kept trying to charge us for 136 people. Hello! Children aren't allowed to drink! Our wedding planner had to tell her numerous times that we were paying only for 126 adults and to stop including the children into the head count for alcohol.
For our menu, we were going with a polynesian theme. Nicolle got us a separate tasting, which was nice. But when it came to communicating to her about what exactly it was that we wanted she again, just didn't seem to understand. When we went for our tasting, we were offered two different chicken dishes, the polynesian chicken, which was basically teriyaki chicken with a fancy name to it. The other was chicken with mango papaya salsa. We told Nicolle numerous times that we specifically wanted the Polynesian chicken and wanted to add the mango/papaya salsa on the side. But I don't know what part of this she did not understand so she kept going back and forth with our planner and telling her that the Polynesian chicken did not come with Mango salsa. Or she thought we wanted the Chicken with the mango/papaya salsa instead. ARGGHH!!! It's not rocket science! How difficult was it to understand that we wanted the POLYNESIAN CHICKEN AND WANTED TO HAVE MANGO/PAPAYA SALSA SERVED ON THE SIDE?!?!?!?!?!
When we were finalizing everything during the last few days before the wedding, I noticed we had a bunch of little charges here and there on our contract that were not there before. For example, we had extra glassware we never agreed to have in the first place, we were being charged 5 cents per plastic spoon for our dessert shots, and more chairs were being ordered than what was actually needed. I found this very frustrating as I felt Nicolle was trying to nickel and dime us for everything and add stuff that we really didn't need. This just added MORE STRESS to what I was already feeling. Thank the almighty Lord above that Nicolle went on vacation before our event and that Alayne took over. My planner and I found Alayne much easier to deal with. She understood our wishes on the FIRST try and basically cleaned up the mess that Nicolle left. She was our saving grace. Unlike Nicolle, she was readily available to help as she could be contacted on the phone from opening til 5pm. Nicolle on the other hand, had the oddest work hours as she seemed to only be available from 11am-2pm. After that she would out of the office.
Despite everything, I must say Jays did come through in the end. The food was delicious and we received many compliments. For appetizers we had: mini beef wellington (super yummy!) and the chicken spring rolls with EXTRA peanut sauce. For dinner we had the POLYNESIAN CHICKEN WITH MANGO/PAPAYA SALSA ON THE SIDE, macadamia crusted mahi mahi, wasabi mashed potatoes, wild cherry salad, vegetable medley, fresh fruit and Hawaiian Sweet Rolls. Our martini bar was a hit as was our dessert and coffee station. Servers were courteous, polite and professional.
I still would recommend Jays to others who are looking for affordable catering. Jays overall score: 3 stars, as I took two stars away from the fact that dealing with Nicolle was stressful. Food was excellent, day -of service was excellent. Would have given them 5 stars though, if we had dealt with Alayne from the get-go.

Great food, great service and a great price. Our wedding at the Ebell club was fantastic thanks to Jay's. Jay's made our wedding GREAT!!!. The food and service were excellent. Their staff was professional and courteous. We are so happy that Jay's was our caterer. Our guests are still commenting on the food. I cannot thank them enough.
GUEST

Fabulous! Our guests continue to rave about the wonderful food that Jay's provided. Our tasting was delicious, but the food at our reception was much, much better than we remembered. The professionalism of the entire staff was exceptional. We will definitely use Jay's Catering for future events.

Most importantly the food was amazing!! Service was great. Even when I labled things wrong they were right there to help when it was not their responcibility. Spilt chocolate on my dress and the servers helped me scrub it out. Working with them was an absolute joy. We are planning on using them for my sisters shower!

I am a little late in writing this but I finally found time to sit down and write this. I truly don't have the words to express how happy I am that I hired Jay's for my daughters wedding. I had the joy and stress of planning my daughters wedding. I feel so blessed to have worked with Ann throughout this entire process. She was there to hold my hand all the way thru. She always returned my calls and emails right away and never became frustrated with any of my constant questions. And I had a lot of questions! Jay's has great prices and WONDERFUL food. I was blown away with the quality and the selection they had. The night of the wedding was absolutely amazing, the food was perfect, the tables were set early, the entire staff were friendly, accommodating and helpful. They made my daughter and her fiance feel very special and also made me feel like I could enjoy the night and they would take care of everything. And that is exactly what they did, took care of every detail that Ann and I talked about.
Thank you for everything Ann and her staff. What an amazing experience!

REALLLLLLY BAD customer service. They nickel and dime you for everything. I had been dealing with them since February and still don't feel comfortable enough to give these people my money.... Nicolle was a NIGHTMARE to work with. She literally shooed me and my FI away because we didn't put down our deposit with her on our 2nd meeting-so embarrassing. Food was ok but, when you've gotten estimates that were always missing something... things important like a Kitchen Setup, then you start to worry if these people can truly manage your event if they can't even manage your proposals. I say don't waste your time.
GUEST

Jays Catering was DELICIOUS!!! We were very happy with not only the food, but the service and display was excellent. From the first moments of planning through the event they were there to please. We also hired them to cook a brunch for our close family and wedding party the morning after at my parents house. Everyone was talking about how great the food was and my favorite part of the evening was the warm baked cookies coming out to the dance floor with shot of milk. MMMMMM!
GUEST

I worked with Ann at Jay's and I am still impressed by her responsiveness, professionalism, and genuine caring for her customers. The food was AMAZING. The setup was done early and their staff was very thoughtful. They made sure that my new husband and I ate dinner and even packed a little 'to go' box for us to snack on. Everyone I have talked to about the wedding has been impressed by the food and the professionalism of their staff.

My wedding was fabulous and Jay's Catering was the primary reason for it. From the Wedding Concierge who helped us find our venue, to the Event Specialist who coordinated the entire menu and event details, to the Event Captain & Staff that executed the event, my husband & I were extremely happy. Our guests raved about the food especially the mini beef wellington appetizers and the chicken veronique entree along with the tri tip. Jay's Catering's food and service made the wedding reception amazing and my family could not have been any happier!

EXCELLENT! Jay's is the most professional caterer we found in Orange County, and we tried many believe me!
First, the prices are really good! And they include tablecloths and china and the wedding cake!
Then they offer a "tasting" where you can go and sample all of their delicious food and see their beautiful offices and huge kitchen. We loved their house specials, like the Rotolo italian pasta dish. They make the appetizers and all food from scratch, unlike many other caterers we sampled!
The girls in the office are all professional, we spoke with Betty and both Julie and Nicole and every time they were so helpful and had many ideas for us. They helped us figure out our theme and make special touches.
Everyone LOVED the food and the service was great, the cake was yummy, my family was so happy! They are still raving about it! Go to Jay's!!!
GUEST

Jay's delivered high-quality, delicious food to our wedding! They are so well known throughout Southern California we knew we couldn't go wrong. Everyone was raving about the food, from the appetizers, to the main course, to the delicious vanilla cream-filled cupcakes! Everything tasted great, and we didn't have a single complaint. We had enough food left over to give away to some at the end of the evening, which the lucky few greatly appreciated. We loved working with Jays. They made my husband and I feel very special and important.
GUEST

We were very delighted with the taste of the food and price of it. They were very professional and handled themselves very nicely. Everything looked perfect and the setup was done very well. We would definitely recommend then and use them again.

AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COSTS!
While we had a pleasant experience with our coordinator, the execution and service thereafter was HORRIBLE. Our problems included:
- They messed up the menu. We ended up with two similar dishes which made no sense at all. They also botched the sides.
- Understaffed and understocked bar. The bar was even shut down while they left to purchase ice.
- Rude bartenders. Even though we prepaid their tips, our guests were treated rudely when they did not tip after an order.
When we filed a complaint on Jays they sent the attack dog at us. Everything ended up being our fault for some reason. They are sly business people at Jays. They have alliances with many venues and other vendors so sometimes you have no choice but to go with them. I suggest doing everything you can do avoid them. This is a special day and you're throwing down thousands upon thousands. Their service is something you don't deserve.

Ummm things didnt go as planned with Jays as we thought they would have.
When we first found them:
We just sent in our deposit!! BUT SO FAR, Jays has been amazing! After looking at other rude vendors, Jay's has been our saving grace. Our coordinator has been so attentive, and has bent over backwards for us. I was out of state, and my FI was about to leave for his base, and we both wouldn't be back till xmas, and wanted to try food before we booked, our coordinator set it up quickly! My FI and my MOH said it was one of the best meals they have ever had. The prices are great! Everything with jay's has been clear, and all questions answered! I am very excited for our wedding now!
GUEST

We worked with Jay's based on our wedding locations request... we couldn't have been happier! Janelle, Mary, Lantz and everyone we had the pleasure of meeting were not only professional but were always willing to help with whatever issues or ideas we could come up with. They worked within our budget and made it amazing. The food was absolutely DELICIOUS and the event staff was great. Nick was our event captain and he treated us wonderfully. I believe that attitude and customer service is as important as the quality of the product (in this case our reception set up, food and drinks) and I can not gush over all of these aspects enough. My husband and I strongly recommend Jay's catering for any event. Especially a wedding. They helped make ours absolutely incredible.

We went with Jay's because of their experience with the venue we picked. We were not disappointed. Our coordinator was pleasant and knowledgeable. The staff was amazing and courteous and the food that we picked from our tasting event was amazing. They provided everything with the packaged cost, so we made out like bandits! They were our supply company and caterer. We upgraded minor things like chairs and table cloths and they did for a minimal fee. We were very happy with Jay's and would definitely use them again. If you start looking around, for the cost and what you get, you could not get a better deal.
GUEST

I received excellent service and food through Jay's catering. Food was far superior to any other catering service (and believe me I've tried them all), buffet lines went smoothly, people got adequate amounts of food. Alcohol was provided by us and they did not even charge corkage fees. I made a mental note of how much food people had at the last tables - everyone got full plates.I had a blast and I got to eat everything that was served. It was so yummy. Not a single bad dish. As soon as we arrived they brought my hubbie and I the appetizers and complete buffet meal so we did not have to get it ourselves. Champagne was pre-poured for everyone. My water glass was always filled. Servers were nice and attentive. Some of our guests even commented that the wedding food was the best that they had. My mom did not complain about the food, which for an Asian parent eating Western food is tremendous. Our coordinator Janelle was excellent - always professional and encouraging. She always answered our questions quickly, demonstrated flexibility in planning, and worked within our budget. It was such a pleasure to work with her! Just be sure to double and triple check your invoice (that is your own job), go through the event in your head to make sure you did not forget anything important, be very specific about what you want, and you will have a great chance to end up being as happy as I am. I'm also very happy about our pricing. We paid ~7K for all food and rentals for 92, including a buffet, a filet mignon carving station, all tables/ settings /glassware, the cake (from Rossmoor's pastries - which I give 3/5 stars for taste and 4.5/5 for looks), and a ton of heat lamps that saved the day! If you are having a wedding that requires an outside caterer, you will probably find that Jay's is the best price for what you get. I've been to too many tastings that were god awful (i.e. unclean salad, greasy, salty, dry chicken, bland) and that made me sick. Jay's tasting was great and their food on the wedding day was equal in quality to the food at the tasting. If I had more $ in my small-to-medium sized food budget I would have used their alcohol service because their mixed champagnes were soooo good. For me, the food is the most important part of any wedding reception because bad food will overshadow even the most gorgeous event... so I am very happy that I went with Jay's.
GUEST

Excellent Service. They were a pleasure and did their job right which was what mattered most. They had a decent price and their food was top notch. We loved it. Would recommend to anyone.

Jay's is FANTASTIC- really. Mary, Jay's venue coordinator, helped us select a site which was perfectly suited to our needs and personalities. Ann helped us plan our rentals and our meal selections, during the tasting. She answered all of our questions. And while plans changed from week to week, leading up to our wedding date, Jay's flexed with our needs. Ann and the Jay's team were available and assuring to have on our side for the BIG day. When the day came, I arrived at our site, Casa Romantica, and Jay's already had everything set. It looked beautiful- perfect- inside and out. I had nothing to worry about, just to enjoy the day. Their staff was friendly and so accommodating. The reception and meal went off without a hitch. The food was excellent. I honestly still have people telling me how good their food was to this day! I was told Jay's made the clean up quick and easy. I would recommend Jay's Catering in a heartbeat. They were wonderful. You can see pictures of our wedding day (our rentals, our place settings, the site...) on this website as further testimony of what a wonderful job Jay's did for us! http://www.bobbybrownphotography.com/clifford/clifford.html

I couldn't be happier with my choice of caterer. They were so professional, responsive and flexible to fulfill all my requests. I am from Brazil and wanted to add a little latin flavor to the menu, so the chef created new recipes and worked with some I had to provide the best menu for my wedding. It has been four months and I still have people talking about how good the food was. People even mention specific names of dishes, such as the "Grand Marnier French Toast" (I had a brunch reception). How often do you have people remember the names of the dishes they ate at a wedding? Well, my guests do, all thanks to Jay's. Service was outstanding as well.

Great catering company. I look forward to working with them again!
GUEST

Wow! What amazing thing can't I say about Jay's?! The food was delicious and the entire staff went above and beyond to meet our needs. Nicolle was great to work with and went above and beyond for us - we really appreciated it. We were very picky that we wanted our guests to be able to sit down to a hot meal and although their packages are mostly buffet, it tasted like it was all made to order. You won't find a better company to work with and you definitley are getting the most for your money. We highly reccomend them! Our dinner consisted of the chicken mastrioanni, garlic mashed potatoes, steamed veggies, pomegranate salad, vegetable lasagna rotolo and our appetizers were the mushroom wellington, pesto stuffed cherry tomatoes and carmelized onion and gorgonzola bruschetta. Our package even included our wedding cake that was simply divine. To die for - everyone is still talking about how awesome the food was!!!

First I have to say that Jay's Catering was the first company I went with because my Aunt had worked for them for 10 years back in 1983 and the original owners knew my family. Unfortunately my wedding was pretty much an embarrassment to me and my guests. We chose the pasta bar and hired 3 chefs to cook on site. I worked with Lantz (coordinator) who was very inexperienced even though he claimed to have over 10 years of experience and reassured me that he was the best coordinator Jay's had on staff. The day of my wedding came and I found out that while we were out taking photos, the guests were served appetizers during the cocktail hour but were told there was no beverages. Not even water! Second, when me and my husband entered the tent and sat down, there was no cider in the glasses for the toast. We were on the last speech before they started filling up glasses. Total embarrassment! Dinner time came and they did not dismiss the tables like they were supposed to...instead everyone just got up and ran to the chef's stations like animals. Lantz did nothing to try and rectify the situation. Guests were forming lines all over the place and people that got pasta didn't know there was prime rib, the people that got prime rib didn't know there was pasta. It was a total mess! We also paid for 3 chefs to be on site and Jay's only sent 2 (cost per chef was $200). We paid for green beans as an extra item and they didn't even have them out to serve...we had to ask "where are the green beans?" and then Lantz said "oh we forgot to put them out"...so he ran and put them out but by that time everyone had pretty much gotten their food. Probably the worst was that me and my husband didn't have any food at all or water at our sweetheart table. I had to ask my grandmother to fill my glass with water because I was dying of thirst. Lantz had the nerve to tell me that me and my husband had to get in line to get our food. Are you kidding me??? Finally he brought us food (but not what I had wanted). They never came around to fill up glasses with beverages and they forgot to put the wedding favors on the tables, so some guests left before they were finally handed out. We asked for food to go 30 minutes before we left the reception and they never gave it to us. In speaking to some of my guests, I found out that 3 of them became sick from the pasta w/ brandy. Apparently it smelled funny (like allot of alcohol) and my cousin was sick for 3 days vomiting, the other two had upset stomachs.I am blown away at how much Jay's catering has changed. It doesn't end there...Payment to Jays: Payment was provided to Lantz approximately 3 weeks prior to the wedding. We never saw the money come out of our bank account. Approximately one week before the wedding, my husband asked Lantz when he was going to take the money out and he promised in 2 days...(we have a 3k limit debit per day for security purposes so we wanted it to come out so we could pay all the other vendors). He never did it. He decided to debit us while we were on our honeymoon which froze our account up because he kept trying to debit us over and over again...meanwhile, our hotel was telling us that our card was coming back "declined"...this is all thanks to someone who waited to the last minute to do their job. When I spoke w/ Patty in customer service about my experience she rushed me through the conversation and every time I had a point to discuss she'd say "ok next" and "is that it?" In regards to the food, she said more than 3 people would have to be sick in order for her to do something about it. I have worked in customer service for over 15 years and I would NEVER speak to someone like that. All in all, we spent just under $12,000 with Jay's catering between the food and the tent/chairs/tables, etc. After my conversation w/ Patty, she felt that a $400 refund ($200 for the chef refund and only $200 for all the rest of what went wrong) was sufficient with a letter (not even a call back which she had promised).I work for a VERY large company where Jay's caters several of our events...but not for long. I know a lot of people in large corporations and I will not be recommending Jay's to anyone. MY ADVICE TO YOU: Do your research. Jay's has great food, they talk a great talk but their service is not good. If you do decide to hire Jay's for your wedding then interview your coordinator who will be on site at your wedding. My mistake was trusting a company that said "leave the details to us, that's what we're here for" and it spoiled my wedding day. You only get one wedding and you've got to do it right. Don't make the same mistake I did.Good luck.

I absolutely loved them! I worked with Patti R. the entire time from beginning to end and she was the best! The servers were very sweet, funny, and made everyone very comfortable. I would recommend them to anyone! The food is unbelievable especially for the price (about $34 a plate).

Jay's was the contracted caterer for our wedding venue but we were so pleased with the food, service and pricing. Tamera was our coordinator and was very helpful and responsive throughout the planning process. The food was absolutely delicious and I am still receiving comments a month after our wedding. The dinners were served hot and the staff was attentive and professional. At the end of the night, they even helped my family with the gift loading. It was a memorable and scrumptious wedding thanks to Jay's!

Don't think about it, just hire them. I was more than pleased with their superb work. We even paid less than the other catering co. we were going to assign, only $40 bucks a plate.Their staff was very friendly with all our guests and they even offered chair and tables for a fee. That took most of my stress away. They were so easy to work with and I hope to be doing more business with them in the future!

Although we had a little communication problem at first, they pulled it off. The food was great, and the service was perfect. I went with the most inexpensive package because of my budget, but everything was just delicious! Also, I didn't buy champagne from them because of my budget, but my coordinator, Tamera offered me I could bring my own champagne and serve them to our guests free. I got lucky!

Jay's performed my wedding in 2005 and it was wonderful! The staff was so professional, from the wedding coordinator to the event captain. The food was AMAZING- especially their famous "Rotollo Pasta" dish- all of the guests loved it!The pricing was very reasonable, especially the excellent cuisine packages & bar packages available. They recommended a DJ service who kept the guests dancing for hours.Things went so smoothly and everyone had a great time. I recommend Jay's to everyone!

This place did an wonderful job on the food. Very high class. Everything tasted wonderful! They lack of serving utensils and the fact that the cake didn't look exactly as I had ordered it were the only problems I had. But there was plenty of food and all of it was wonderful. They even packed a to-go kit for our honeymoon so we have something to eat for a couple of nights. That was good stuff!P.S. I don't remember the exact price we paid, but it was well worth it.
