Do not recommend. My wedding was several months ago, and I am still unhappy about our photos and the experience with this vendor.
Most of the photos look quite amateur and not at all worth the cost. But perhaps the biggest issue is the fact that this guy was incredibly unresponsive.
We paid the entire fee before the wedding (note to future brides - this is just foolish, and I cannot believe that I agreed to that!) - because we thought "he has to be reliable, after all he is kind of a 'star-photographer'". Our photos were due 8-10 weeks after the wedding, however it took an additional 3 months of emails, unanswered phone calls and finally (on the advice of the Better Business Bureau) a sternly-worded letter sent by certified mail which included the paper trail of our correspondence and contract), before he came up with the goods.
A few weeks before the wedding we sent him a list of some of the shots we wanted - this was never acknowledged, and when we saw the photos we realized that he had just ignored our requests.
I wish I had read the reviews before earlier.

I completely agree with the other reviewer. His photos are crazy beautiful but he's not very good about following up after the 'job'. It's been over a year now and still no word (nor any responses to my dozens of phone calls and emails) about when or IF EVER we will get an album. It's not that he's dishonest -- technically we didn't have the album spelled out in our contract (it was just based on verbal agreement, which I now regret) -- I just get the feeling that he loses interest in his clients after the day of the shoot.I feel really conflicted about giving this review b/c he really was AWESOME during our engagement shoot and on our wedding day. He's got a great, easy-going demeanor, and I LOVE our pictures...but now I feel like I'm being left high and dry. I will revise this review as soon as I get an album, but till then, assume that we never got that album that we were promised.***UPDATE AS OF MAY 2011***It's been almost 2 years, 30+ emails, and about a dozen voicemails and still no album! He does respond once every 10 emails/voicemails to say that he's working on it, but I find it hard to believe now.... It really makes me sad that this is the one thorn from what was otherwise an incredible experience for my husband and me. :(

Jeff Newsom was my favorite wedding vendor. His skills and website speak for him. Jeff is a wonderful/mellow/fantastic human which makes everyone feel great infront of the camera (which is not easy to do). I enthusiastically recommend Jeff to all engaged couples. His style is more art than pose-y tired wedding photos. Such a find, I could go on and on. Yay Jeff Newsom! Grade: A+++

Jeff doesn't take your "normal" wedding (and engagement) pictures, the pictures he takes tell a story and are interesting to people who have nothing to do with your wedding. He takes great unique shots and is great to work with. The only problem that we have had is that we ordered a wedding album as part of our contract and it has almost been a year and we still haven't received it. We have worked out the problem with him but are still awaiting the final product. Great overall experience and was able to show a sideshow at the end of the wedding to give guests a preview of the picture to follow. A bit pricey compared to others but if you are looking for a unique product and photos that you can share forever, this is the way to go.
