The most awesome place and Rene was the best. It is a beautiful place that I would recommend to everyone. We had the wedding/Reception there and it was a night that we wished would of not ended. Everyone said that they never had as much fun as they did there.

Everything went so smooth and according to plan. Renee was great, responsive, regimented and got the wedding going perfectly! The food was great (which was very important to us) and we got to have our open bar at such a deal. Everything was within our budget and we were so happy with the results as were our guests. Beautiful place, great food, friendly and professional staff, and highly recommend (especially if you're a budget bride who wants minimal stress)!

My Daughter and her husband were married at JSM on 4-9-11. It was a most magical day for all. The grounds and the mansion are maintained to perfection. It is like stepping into living history, How wonderful to have this incredible venue in my own hometown. Benicia is proud and lucky to have a woman like Reed that has been so involved in the preservation of this town's history. Not only with the mansion but other projects and commitees she has been involved with over the years. The food and the service were 5 star. Everything was fresh, delicious and displayed beautifully. The venue was large enough to accomodate our party of 190 easily. Our guests were comfortable and at ease to enjoy the entire poroperty. Which they did while waiting for the photo's to finish so the real party could begin.Don't know what I would have done without Renee'. She answered questions, answered e-mails and was totally available during the months leading up to the wedding. Day of......She was everywhere. I didn't have to worry about a thing. I was able to enjoy the day and to remember each moment. I thank them both for helping to create the perfect wedding for my Daughter and my new Son.

JSM was amazing! I wish the day didn't go by as fast because I could have spent all night there! I would highly recommend this venue for your reception :)

The staff felt like family and helped keep this bride's worries at bay, being that I'd put it all together myself. It really was the day I'd imagined and I couldn't have asked for more.

Jefferson St. Mansion was wonderful for the wedding. The mansion was perfect for my wedding. Reed and Renee were great. Pricey on the alcohol though and never received an itemized statement.

I can't say enough about Reed and Jefferson Street Mansion. I LOVE them! I've worked many events there (providing cake) and it's always a breeze! They run everything so smooth and easy - it's like a well oiled machine. I always know everything will be prepared and waiting for me just as the bridal couple has requested and receive a warm welcome from Reed and staff upon arrival.
Again, can't say enough... =)

Absolutely stunning location!!!! My cousin just had their wedding here a couple weeks ago. The pictures really don't do it justice. The mansion inside and out is gorgeous. The tent for the reception is beautiful. The bridal suite is breath-taking. Even the bathrooms are worth seeing. The grounds are well manicured with sculptures and beautiful landscaping. The service was ok. There were a few times that I offered to get the bride and groom something to drink. For the price I know the paid, I think they shouldn't have ever been empty handed. Its a bit pricey, but the location is superb! Overall, this place is worth seeing in person!

The location is beautiful (the reason for the one star). Our experience with the mansions owner started out fine, and she seemed quite genuinely helpful. She gave us a tour of the mansion and discussed pricing with us at length, with regards to the use of the mansion, the mansion beverage service, (quite pricey) and the catering. We knew she could only give us an approximate price as we would be choosing one of her top caterers at a later date. We left and she sent us our contract in the mail. When we read the contract we noticed that the estimated price we were previously given did not acually include caterering as she had previously stated. We called the owner and were told "we were reading it wrong" and we were given the same price, so we signed and paid our first deposit to secure our date. I KNOW! I KNOW! STUPID RIGHT! When it was time to secure a caterer we called the owner and went over the pricing again ( because in hindsight it was still bothering us ) Well, we realized our mistake big time. We were right all along the pricing was only for the mansion and their beverage service that you must use. So we left and moved on losing our deposit. So bottom line make sure before you secure your date here get all your costs up front and in writing. We found the experience to be a hard lesson. Dont believe everything you are told, no matter how nice someone seems to come across. Apparently this has happened before at this venue according to other web sites. We moved on, and had a fabulous wedding elsewhere.

The JSM is not inexpensive, but it is a very good value. Our wedding cost around $20,000, but several guests estimated it to be a $50,000 or even $100,000 wedding. The JSM provides a truly unique and extremely elegant location for both the ceremony and the reception. Check out their website for more info.

Jefferson Street Mansion (JSM)
Just Gorgeous. My #1 spot and I got it..... If you are even considering this place. Hopefully you are getting married a year from now. Every weekend is booked. Crazy but I defiantly know why now. If you want to pretend you live back in the day and were totally rich. Here you go for one day this is your house. The guest can walk around and feel as if they are in a historical museum. Reed the owner went above and beyond to make this place PERFECT. From the Beers on Tap to the Curtain tie backs. Everything is how it should be and is always from the highest quality of standards. I had the best time and I can't stop hearing about how much fun everyone else did her as well. It is true, the people make the party but with this backdrop even the boringest people couldn't say they had a bad night if they tried. It was the day any little princess dreams of. One word of caution. Read your contract over and over again. No matter how nice people can be the contract in the end is all it comes down to. Just be careful I did make a few mistakes that cost me over budget. But in the end it didn't make a difference. The time was worth a million dollars once the night was over. I am totally above and beyond satisfied with the decisions I had made in going with reserving this Mansion for our wedding. I trust my gut instinct you will want to kick yourself if you don't reserve this place for your wedding NOW. It's all over for me and no way would I have wanted to get married anywhere else still. Please take a tour, you hardly need to decorate yourself it's so detailed. I fell in love with it just on line and in person it is honestly breath taking. The staff is very friendly and are there to make your night what you want it so let them in to who you are and make it YOUR wedding. Have FUN!!!!!! And don't worry I drove them crazy with a million and two questions, e-mails, requests, concerns, recommendations and never once did they make me feel like I needed to stop. Very responsive and helpful.Tour: http://tour.circlepix.com/tour.htm?id=269643&refurl

They do have a lift and her BM did go inside for a while. The lift only goes to the first floor though (main floor). It doesn't go upstairs (just bedrooms up there). So don't plan on a HM there if you or your FI is needs a wheelchair.

Reed at Jefferson Street was amazing! She provided tons of contact information for local vendors. She was kind, very relaxed and so helpful. Her staff was amazing and very attentive throughout the whole day. She made us feel welcome and like we were at home. The grounds are spectacular and gorgeous. The food was wonderful and the wine was top notch! After looking for a location for almost 2 years, the moment I met Reed and took a tour of the house & grounds, I knew this was the place.
Jefferson Street Mansion in Benicia is simply one of the most beautiful wedding facilities in all of California. The owner, Reed Robbins is a true professional and has done a terrific job in keeping the feel of the mansion intimate while being able to accomodate larger weddings. The Jefferson Mansion Staff is very friendly and the service is always great. QMEP is proud to have an excellent relationship with Reed Robbins and JSM. Together we have been able to create the weddings that our brides dream about! I have enjoyed performing Wedding DJ Services at Jefferson Street Mansion for over 15 years ! We also provide Lighting, Photography, Event Planning and Slide Show Equipment for JSM Weddings.

Once inside the Mansion, turn to your right and enter the magnificent double parlors, whose cream-and-pale green washed walls are adorned with custom gilt molding and medallions. The twelve-foot-high windows have sumptuous wine velvet drapes, bedecked with gold fringe and tied back with plump gold tassels. (Incidentally, these drapes were custom-made in New Orleans by renowned designers Buzz Harper and Les Wisinger, whose other projects include Savannah’s Calhoun Mansion, location of the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.) The parlors also feature two marble fireplaces, oil paintings, crystal chandeliers and gilt-framed antique mirrors.
Upstairs is the bride’s dressing room. Like the parlors, it has gilt molding, a chandelier, fireplace and custom-made drapes in cream and peach brocade, as well as practical items like a white-and-gold wooden dressing screen, an antique mirrored armoire and a dressing table. Nervous brides can regain their composure on the primrose brocade “fainting couch,” or pose for whimsical photos with the groom in a carved wooden “courting chair.” Also on this floor is the elegant Salon, whose generous balcony is the perfect spot for bouquet tossing.
Other rooms at the Mansion include Reginald’s Pub, designed to resemble a French officer’s club in Rangoon, and three antique and collectible showrooms. It’s quite clear why “Bay Area Backroads” called the Mansion the “Most Romantic Spot in Northern California,” the California Heritage Council gave it the 2004 “Preservation of the Year Award” and CBS “Eye On The Bay” featured it as a top wedding site.
Though you and your guests are encouraged to wander through the Mansion, the primary festivities take place outside. On the generous side lawn, with a water vista, a classic colonnaded fifteen-foot-high arbor guarded by two majestic palm trees makes a charming spot for exchanging vows. Receptions take place on the Mansion’s opposite side. Here, your guests mingle among fountains, statues and flowerbeds, or seek shade in the two elegant fabric-draped pavilions (each with its own chandeliers). The buffet is set up in front of two exquisite antique back-bars, fashioned with intricate carving and spoolwork.
No matter how beautiful the surroundings, your event isn’t going to be much of a success without a competent staff working hard behind the scenes, and that’s exactly what you’ll get when you book an event at the Jefferson Street Mansion. Reed Robbins, who is a wedding coordinator as well as the owner, considers it her personal mission to keep each bride “calm, elegant, and relaxed.” There’s plenty of parking, plus a “one event per day” policy mean you can celebrate as long (and as enthusiastically) as you want. And although we’ve described the Jefferson Street Mansion in terms of weddings, the entertainment possibilities at this topnotch facility are practically endless. So if you’re seeking a venue with the romance of the past and the convenience of the present, take a trip to Benicia and the Jefferson Street Mansion. Your event may not go down in California’s history, but it’s sure to be a day you and your guests will never forget.
