My background is in photojournalism, so naturally, my approach to wedding photography is photojournalistic in style. I use a "fly on the wall" method for capturing all the candid moments that make your wedding unique. Additionally, I have extensive studio photography experience, and understand the importance of crafting light to create the highest quality images possible.

My Philosophy:

I believe in flexibility. You have a lot of things to worry about on your wedding day and your photos shouldn't be one of them. Have an idea for a fun photo? Let's do it. Need help gathering family members? Done. Want me to stay longer? No problem. I work my hardest to make your wedding as relaxing as possible.

Printing: All photos from your event are yours to print at no extra charge. You'll receive a DVD with enhanced high-resolution images as well as a printing release form, allowing you to make as many prints as you'd like without having to go through me. That said, if you would prefer I handle printing, just let me know and I'll set you up with what you need.

Travel: I love to travel, so I don't charge extra for long-distanct weddings. If you're having your wedding out of state or in some remote part of Colorado, I have you covered. Destination wedding? Even better. Contact me and we'll make it happen.

Artist Bio:

Jesse La Plante graduated from Central Michigan University in May of 2007 with a Bachelor of Science in Photojournalism. He was honored with several awards during his senior year at the University, which holds the title of most accredited journalism school in the Midwest.

Jesse worked as a photojournalist for a few years before exploring other photographic avenues. He now focuses primarily on studio, travel and wedding photography, yet continues to utilize a journalistic approach in much of his work.

In the summer months, Jesse exhibits and sells his photography at fine art fairs, namely The Ann Arbor Summer Art Fair and “Art in the Park” in Royal Oak, Michigan. The former bestowed upon him the designation of “youngest artist” for six years in a row.

Something of a Jack-of-all-trades, Jesse has worked as a street-performing juggler & psaltery player, written two screenplays and drawn a nationally-published comic strip. He has traveled through 15 foreign countries and 38 United States. Jesse currently lives in Boulder, Colorado.
