I love yoga, and just love going to spas, though I never have time anymore. On the night that Brock got taken away by the lawyers to the baseball game, the girls at my work, along with my mom and some of my closet friends, treated me to a spa day. I had been to Jewel spa several times before, but never for two sixty-minute sessions. It was wonderful. There were eleven of us in total, but the spa somehow managed to fix the schedule so that everyone was getting messaged or getting their nails done or facial. I guess they are used to having large groups of brides to be who want to be pampered. I loved it. They treated us like princesses and fed us tea and chocolate. I had only gotten one another facial in my life, and it was amazing the way they messaged my neck and face. It was so relaxing that I almost fell asleep during it. The second fun part was getting my toenails painted, which I did alongside my mom. I learned the great secret that even if your finger nails need to be plain and polished; it’s okay to have orange toe nail polish.

Todd and some co-workers were really helpful in planning my bridal shower. Todd figured that since everyone would be traveling far to be here, why not spend a day with my girlfriends and mom in a spa getting a message. This was on the Thursday before the wedding, and everyone was supposed to arrive before noon (only one flight was delayed). We went to the spa and it was wonderful! They had set up a small chill room for us to talk, and Todd had brought NA champagne and sushi for us (which was allowed). And they had these cute desserts for us. My favorite part was how this was the first message that my mother ever got, and she loved it! I loved seeing everyone so relaxed. I was so stressed about how people would feel about flying out here for my wedding, and this was a great way to get rid of all that stress. And feel beautiful!

My friends and family decided to hold a spa day for the immediate bridal party as part of a joint bachelorette/bridal shower. This wasn’t the spa that I normally go to, but it was wonderful because they were set up to accommodate all ten of us. We were pampered by the spa for over three hours, and they were wonderful in the planning to ensure no one was left sitting behind waiting. Because my skin is so sensitive, I opted for the hand and foot message, ate some chocolate, and then had a soothing back massage. It was two weeks before the wedding, and I didn’t want anyone to tough my face (didn’t want to risk a break out). We all left there feeling so relaxed, I think it was a great way to ease out the stress of planning.
