Reviews for Jinny's Bridal Center
I bought my dress at Jinny's. I had tried on dresses at two different salons before Jinny's, one in Orange County and one on the central coast. Both of those salons left me disappointed, both in their selection and service. I went to Jinny's after multiple recommendations from friends and coworkers. My consultant was Chloe and she was great! Everyone there is really nice and makes you feel at home. Chloe helped me pick out many dresses to try. Then she told me about a dress that had just come in that week that no one had tried on yet. It was THE ONE! She knew it just by looking at my body shape and what I had said I was looking for. She was great at helping me narrow down the size to order as well. After placing the order, I was told it would take four months to arrive. It came in within TWO months! When I went to pick it up, Chloe was there again and she got just as excited to see me in it as if she were a long time friend. I would highly recommend Jinny's to anyone. Their prices can't be beat, there is no air of snooty-ness about them, they're super friendly, and fast!
I had a good experience at Jinny's bridal center. All of the bridal consultants were great. Prices are pretty reasonable. I worked with Jinny and Sherry in selecting my Maggie Sottero wedding gown. Jinny helped me buy a "wow" wedding dress. She's a sweet lady and really knows the wedding business. If you are a bride looking for your dress, check out Jinny's.
This was one of the places that I have search for my special gown. They services are excellent.
great service, selection, alterations and prices!!!
I did not have a very good experience with Jinny's. Everytime I called or went in to meet with someone they were 'short' with me, unprofessional and rude. They completely forgot to order the bridesmaids dresses and had I not called to check up who knows what would have happened. It looks like there have been some similar experiences based on the other reviews. Proceed with caution!!
After reading up on dress shopping before hand, I was terrified that every bridal salon was full of awful employees dead set on ripping me off. Jinny’s was the opposite of my expectations! Cheri was my consultant and she was awesome! She picked out a dress for me that I would have NEVER tried on and I loved it 10x more than the ones I went there to try. I went back later for that dress and ended up finding the Maggi CapriMarie, which is what I bought. She was friendly and helpful and even gave me a discount on the dress because they were having a Maggie trunk show the next weekend - I didn’t even know about the trunk show and would have never known, but she just offered it us. The dress came in right when they said it would and they didn’t pressure me at all to get my alterations done there. On top of all that, they had the best price for my dress that I saw anywhere. Jinny’s was a totally great experience on every level.
This was the first bridal shop i came to when I first got engaged. They are family owned and very friendly BUT I didn't find the dress I liked. We did come back here since it was so close to my sister in law's house and it was like 3 weeks till the wedding and we were looking for a flower girl dress for my niece. I called couple shops and they said I would need 4-6 weeks at least to get the dress in if I order from them. I freaked out of course and had to go running around to see if there was any off the racks that we liked but there wasn't since it all looked kinda old and worn since a lot of girls probably tried it on and above all they didn't really have a size 3. So as soon as we got to Jinny's - Jinny took care of us and told us there's a designer that could get it for us in a week and when she showed me the dress - my sis in law and I both said YES since it looked just like my wedding dress style but just the mini version. I custom made the bow so it would match my bridesmaid dresses and it all worked out. Less than a week we got a call from Jinny that the dress was there. We were so excited to see our cute flower girl in her dress. It worked out great and above all it was reasonable. Other places charged at least $100 for little girl dresses but Jinny was definitely reasonable. After my wedding I got my gown preservation box from Jinny as well since she was $50 cheaper than most places plus she even helped me putting everything together. Great bridal shop and not pushy at all!!
I went to about 4 dress shops, Jinny's was the 2nd one. I went on a Saturday without an appointment- OMG, I know. I actually had great customer service. I only tried on one dress (I was discouraged from the previous bridal shop with no luck of finding a dress). It turns out that the one dress was THE one. I didn't buy it then but I came back about 2 more times to try it on before them. They let me try it on and were very helpful each time. They even measured one of my bridesmaids knowing that we weren't ordering our bridesmaids dresses through them. Overall great experience, but I'd recommending going during the week and making an appointment.
I had the BEST experience with Jinny's Bridal Center.
I had been searching for the perfect gown for a few months when I discovered THE ONE- a Maggie Sottero dress. ALL of the bridal stores in my area (Northern California) could not get the dress in time (wedding in late June, and it was now March). Some told me to get the size 8 and have it altered (I'm a 2) but I REALLY wanted to get my dress straight from Maggie Sottero (MS) in my correct size. I was starting to get discouraged when FI told me to call every store on MS's website and see if they had my dress in my size in stock.
Jinny's Bridal was the second and last call I made. She was able to get my dress not just on time, but months earlier than I expected, with no rush charge. She was so kind and helpful and told me that her store has a long relationship with MS and is often able to get dresses in before other shops can. She took half of the cost ovr the phone via credit card that day, and in a couple of weeks called to say my dress was in. The second half was charged, the dress was sent and I had my dress three days later. Not only was Jinny's able to get my dress so early at such a last minute time, her prices were much more affordable than anywhere else I'd looked! Including the shipping fee, my dress was less than it would have been at a local store.
I am so happy I discovered Jinny's and I will reccommend the store to everyone I know getting married.
I went in to the store to look at bridesmaid's dresses with 2 of my bridesmaids. We had called to make an appointment yet they gave us no help in looking for the dresses, and only vaguely pointed us in the direction of the changing rooms. There was no one else around or using the changing rooms so each of the girls took a room. About 20 minutes later one of the ladies came by with a bride and got her in a dressing room then told us that the bridesmaids were going to have to share a dressing room because other people would need the dressing room. We were the only other people in the store and there were still 3 other rooms empty!!!!! Their prices are higher than the other nearby bridal stores that carry the same dresses. When we did interact with the sale's people they spoke to us as if we were children they were rude and patronizing. They may treat the brides who go in for their dresses better (there is a bigger commission there) but there is no service for bridesmaids! I suggest spending your money somewhere where they actually provide service.
Let me say that I did not wind up buying my dress here, but my best friend did. She had no problems at all. The dress came in on time, the alterations were less than $100 (only needed a bustle). I went to try on a specific dress and they had it on thier floor. I did not have an appointment, but they were still very nice. However, while I was there, a bride came in with a dress that she had bought elsewear and just needed a bustle put in. They gave her alot of grief for not buying from them and for buying online. As a online shopper myself who saved $300 by buying my dress online, this sticks with me and really bothers me. Aside form that, the store was clean and the people were friendly.
Marina is a dream to work with. She was SOOOO awesome and helped me pick out the perfect dress for my wedding. I figured that I should just get my dress altered her as well but it was a huge mistake. I got my dress altered from Margoth because Marina kept saying how she tailors things for Nordstroms and is really good. When I went there for the 2nd fitting, Margoth didn't alter my dress correctly. The bustle was fine-- a French bustle but the bust of the dress was weird looking and did not sit close to my body. The dress was a corset dress so if we tied it tighter, it would squish the skin on my back and make it look really bad but the front of the dress was still loose and if someone tall was standing and looking down, they would be able to see everything. Margoth seemed to not really care and seemed more concerned with going home for the evening. She basically told me that there was nothing she could do and that I should go home, put the veil on and hopefully hide my back so that it would look fine. I found her to be really rude. I ended up taking my dress to Mahtab (who I should have gone to in the first place) to fix my dress. She knew exactly what to do and said a good tailor would have known what to do in order to fix a problem like this. I just found the tailor at Jinny's to be uncaring and rude. It totally left a bad taste in my mouth after the wonderful experience I had with purchasing my dress from them. I even told a lot of my friends who are getting married to purchase their dresses from Jinny's and a few have... but I DO NOT RECOMMEND GETTING IT ALTERED THERE. GO TO MAHTAB in Laguna Hills... she is so worth the drive.
I had a great experience there. Bought my dress and BM's dresses at Jinny's. They all came in looking great and no problems. (also on time!)
The staff are really nice and friendly. I suggest trying to go during the weekday, so it's not too busy.
Jinny is awesome!! I bought a Marisa dress from her 4 months before my wedding. These dresses usually take 4-6 months to come in. She got my dress to me 2 weeks before my wedding, had it altered and pressed for me in time for my wedding. I did not pay any extra for this. Jinny has the connections and knows what she is doing. My dress was also much less expensive than any other bridal salon. Just make sure to have an appointment esp. on the weekends because they are very busy.
I bought my wedding dress from Jinny's Bridal and when I received it, the wedding dress label was cut off. I thought my dress was a Maggie Sotero, but I guess I will never know who made my dress. I later found a duplicate wedding dress like mine for a couple of hundred dollars less! Isn't it by law they have to keep the label on the dress? The alteration lady quoted such an outrageous price just for hemming up the dress.
When my mom and I went shopping for wedding dresses, we went to every shop in the area possible. Because I had been to so many shops, I immediately knew Jinny’s Bridal was the place I wanted to buy my dress from. The girls were very friendly, acoomodating, helpful and truthful. I didn’t really know what I wanted and spent hours trying on dress after dress and even going back to some dresses to try them on again. When I tried on “the one”, I was able to take a picture so that I could sleep on my decision. The prices at Jinny’s are very competitive (for both bridal gowns and bridesmaids gowns) and turn-around times are quick. Even though my wedding was over a year away, I ordered my dress and it came in 3 weeks later! I choose to order my bridesmaids dresses from there also. I had no idea what I wanted and went into the shop numerous times to try to figure out what style and color would be best for my wedding. I explained my “theme” and was given suggestions. In the end, I choose Mori Lee long lipstick shade dresses. I never would have thought the color would look good, but the girls at the shop suggested it and they were right!
I had no problems at Jinny's Bridal. I did not end up buying my dress from there, but I was pleased that the sales girl was letting me and my friend do our own thing as well as take pictures.
I had a good experience with Jinny's Bridal. I found the Maggie Sottero I wanted that was nearly impossible to find in L.A. The ladies in the store gave me undivided attention and helped me tie up the corset on the dresses. The price was very reasonable. Only one slight issue: I wanted a dress in ivory, and after being told the one I loved came in that color while trying it on, I came to find out as I was plunking down the cash that it wasn't available in ivory. I ended up getting it in white because the dress was too beautiful to pass up, but was annoyed that they hadn't double-checked available colors.
Everyone look great in all the dresses we bought at Jinny's Bridal Center!
I came here when I was just looking around and unsure what type of bridal gown I liked. The service was excellent. Although I did not leave with a purchase, I felt not guilt just trying on gowns with my other three girlfriends standing by!
They did a wonderful job with my dress!
I loved it!
Had a great experience here. Cherie helped me find my dress, which I never would have tried on otherwise. Also, Alicia there did the alterations, and she is AMAZING. I saw my dress at other stores for $300 more than what Jinny's offered. The one only snag was that I had them make me a veil, and when it came in it was the wrong color, but they had another one made right away and fixed the problem. Good selection of dresses at great prices.
I actually had a great experience at Jinny's. I unfortunately did not find my dress there, however, we did find the BM dresses there and they even came in about a few weeks early. Great customer service.
I was planning on waiting, giving the store time to remedy the problem but that isn't happening.
I found the dress that I love back in January and went ahead and purchased it- at the time I wondered why there were no tags in the dress but I was assured that it was "Paris Couture" and would be shipped from new york. I asked for the tags and they re-assured me they would be included in my dress, not that it matters who makes the dress I just don't want something that I purchased to be tampered with. So I go in 2 weeks after they say the dress should arrive and the ladies "call" new york to see if the dress is ready. It wasn't. Finally another 2 weeks later I am called and the dress is there.
Imagine my surprise when I got home and one of the sashes was missing AND the manufacturers tags had been removed from the bodice. The loose thread remains where the tag once was. I paid for I am appalled that staff would remove anything from a dress that I have purchased. I was told that the dress is "Paris Couture" but that is not listed with the FTC.
Here is the clincher...#1 the dress shop IS "Paris Couture." They are their own designer and have a company in China that makes the knock off dresses for them. I don't care about who made the dress but come on...what designer in new york had they been calling?? It is my belief that is dishonesty at its best. #2 the sash (gold) that I was to pick up...is a piece of ribbon. Like something you could get from the fabric shop for $2.00. That is not what was on the floor model dress when I bought it in January- there were two satin sashes (gold & ivory) neither one was ribbon.
It is my opnion that we will now move to court for the following:
-non delivery of goods paid for
-misleading advertising
-deceptive selling practices
-unsatisfactory service after purchase[/b:c89be671c1]
These are my opninons and I want to put it out there...
From FTC:
Here comes the bride-to-be, shopping for the perfect dress for her big day. Her main focus may be on style and price, but it's likely she also wants to know about the manufacturer, fiber content, country of origin and care instructions. Today's bride wants this labeling information to help make a smart choice about what is surely to be one of the most memorable -- and expensive -- clothing purchases of a lifetime. What's more, this labeling information is required.
Garment Labels
If you manufacture, import or sell wedding gowns, you must ensure that consumers have certain garment information. The Textile Act, its regulations and the FTC's Care Labeling Rule require that labels be attached to imported and domestic textile products such as wedding gowns. These rules apply to sample gowns, as well as to gowns that are for sale.
Wedding gown labels must contain four pieces of information:
1. The identity of any one business in the distribution channel, including:
the manufacturer;
the manufacturer's Registered Identification Number (RN), which is issued to companies in the U.S. and registered by the FTC;
the retail store's name or RN; or,
the RN or business name of any other company in the U.S. directly involved in the distribution of the gown.
The label showing the name or RN may be sewn-in or attached as a hang-tag. Either way, it must be conspicuously placed.
2. The garment's fiber content. The generic fiber names and percentages by weight of each fiber used must be listed in descending order of predominance. The label may be sewn-in or attached as a hang-tag and must be conspicuously placed. It may appear with other information or it may be a separate label. To insure proper care of the garment, it may be important -- although not required -- to have the fiber content on a label that is permanently attached.
3. The country of origin.
Imported wedding gowns must identify the country where they were processed or manufactured.
Gowns made entirely in the U.S. of materials also made in the U.S. must be labeled "Made in U.S.A." or an equivalent phrase.
Gowns made in the U.S. of imported materials must be labeled to show the processing or manufacturing that takes place in the U.S., as well as the imported component.
Gowns manufactured partly in the U.S. and partly abroad must identify both aspects.
If a gown is imported, the country-of-origin label must be sewn in to comply with U.S. Customs Service requirements. If a gown is made in the U.S. -- of either imported or domestic fabric -- the country of origin information can be sewn in or placed on a hang-tag. In any case, the country-of-origin disclosure must be placed as close as possible to the center back of the neck.
4. Care instructions. The care label must identify:
At least one safe cleaning method -- either washing or drycleaning -- and any necessary warnings about the cleaning method.
Example: If the care instruction is to dryclean, the label must specify one type of solvent that may be used, unless all commercially available types of solvents can be used safely on the gown.
Example: If the gown is labeled for washing, the label must say whether any step of the normal washing process -- washing, bleaching, drying, or ironing -- could harm the garment or other items cleaned with it.
The care label must be sewn in. Imported garments should have care labels when they are sent to the U.S., or labels should be attached by the importer.
Tag Omission, Removal and Substitution
A wedding gown must have all the required labeling information when it leaves the manufacturer.
Under the Textile Act, it is illegal to remove a label containing manufacturer, fiber content or country-of-origin information without substituting another label with the required information. For example, a retailer who wants to remove a label identifying the manufacturer, must substitute it with a label that lists the shop's own name or RN, or the name or RN of someone else in the gown distribution chain. In addition, the substituted label must contain all the information that is required on the original label. All substitute labels must be properly attached to the gown -- either sewn in or on a conspicuously placed hang-tag. Finally, a retailer must not remove the sewn-in care instructions.
Record Keeping
Wedding gown manufacturers must keep records that show the information required on the label (manufacturer or dealer identity or RN, fiber content, and country of origin) for every garment they produce. The records, which must be kept for three years, should show that the letter of the law has been met and establish a traceable line from the raw materials to the finished product.
In addition, any business that substitutes a label on a textile product -- such as a wedding gown retailer -- also must keep records for three years that show what information on the label was removed and the name of the party from whom the product was received.
Non-Compliance
Any violation of the Textile Act regulations or the Care Labeling Rule is considered an unfair and deceptive act or practice under the FTC Act. As a remedy, the Commission may issue an administrative order prohibiting the unlawful behavior. Violations of an administrative order can result in a federal district court action for civil penalties up to $11,000 per violation. Businesses not subject to a previous administrative order also can be subject to monetary civil penalties, an injunction, and other remedies -- including consumer redress -- in a federal district court action for knowingly engaging in practices -- such as mislabeling garments -- that the Commission has determined in prior cases to be unfair or deceptive.
For violations of the Care Labeling Rule by a manufacturer or importer, the Commission may seek an injunction in federal district court and civil penalties of up to $11,000 per violation. A retailer who removes care labels from garments may be held liable for unfair and deceptive acts or practices under the FTC Act and may be the subject of an administrative order. Violations of such orders can result in an action for civil penalties in federal district court.
Each instance of mislabeling under the textile laws and the Care Labeling Rule may be considered a separate violation.

I had a good experience with this store. I had been wanting a dress by Maggie Sottero and found the exact one I wanted! They had tons of beautiful dresses. I was in and out in 15 minutes (of course had to go back to meet with the seamstress). It was at a great price; better than I could find online. There was something strange with it though. The ribbon that should be under the breast was directly over the middle of the breast. They would not fix it for free but I still saved much more than if I had bought it somewhere else in the end. I only had to pay $25 to move the bow to it's proper place. The seamstress that helped me was Elizabeth. She was also a pleasure to work with and was half the cost of any other taylor I could have gone to. She was fast fixing the dress. All in all a great experience. I would recommend (even despite the bow it's still worth it.) I saw that they were all attentive to the customers as well. :)
I can't say enough great things about Jinny's Bridal! I shopped around quite a bit, but when I stepped foot inside Jinny's, Cheri greeted me and made me feel very comfortable. I never once felt pressured as some of the larger bridal shops do. I found my PERFECT dress (Maggie Sotero - Midgley) and from the ordering of the dress all the way to the final alteration fitting, it was a breeze! Alicia is a master when it comes to alterations! Marina is great & helped me with the jewelry that I ordered from Inna. If you want jewelry that is truly unique, don't go anywhere else as Inna frequently comes to the store and can customize your jewelry on the spot! My whole experience at Jinny's was hassle free and everything I hoped for!
Thanks for making my day truly special!!
just amazing dresses and services. taoiling was perfect.
thanks.
I bought my dress at Jinny's and had a WONDERFUL experience with Marina. She was great at helping me pick out the dress of my dreams...
After receiving the dress, I stupidly went there again to get my dress altered. DO NOT GET IT ALTERED HERE. The lady (Margot) who altered it was so rude. She told me I needed to lose weight (I weigh 125) and that was why my back fat was hanging out over the dress and not because she did a terrible job of altering the dress. She said I should lose 5 pounds and to go home and see how everything looks with the veil and everything. I asked her what I should do if I don't like how everything looks with the veil.. and she just shrugged and said there's nothing else to do. OMG!!!!!!!
I bought a bridesmaid dress from Jinny's and had a HORRIBLE experience. They "helped" me choose the wrong size dress (too big), quoted me a price and then called two weeks later to tell me it was wrong, and charged me double what I was originally quoted! Then when I went to pick it up they gave me the dress - did not check on me in the dressing room to see if everything was ok, and then made me pay a higher price than what they told me over the phone. I do not recommend Jinnny's Bridal - spend the extra $20 and get real service
(the price includes my wedding dress, veil, bridesmaids dresses (6), alterations, shipping, and a strapless bra)
Jinny's has made my bridal shopping experience easy and care free. Marina is the best saleswoman in the world and knows her gowns!! She picked out beautiful gowns that shaped my body perfectly and picked out dresses that I never would have picked for myself but look lovely!! EVERYONE at Jinny's was extremely helpful; with picking out bridesmaid dress colors that would complement my dress, alterations, undergarments - you name it, they know their stuff!! Now that all is said and done, I am actually quite sad to not stop by there on the weekends and see all the awesome people!!
I did get my alterations done with Margoth. Although we had some issues with sizing, she spent a lot of time taking my dress in and letting it out again (too tight) without a problem or extra charge. Plus, she had to re-bead the entire dress every time she altered it. I was nervous about getting the dress altered somewhere else if the had not worked on wedding dresses before. Apparently, Margoth has been doing this for 30 years so I trusted her and things are okay now.
I just wanted to warn the future brides out there about Jinny's Bridal. I went to Jinny's for my bridesmaid dresses and had a horrible experience. The customer service from the very beginning was awful and my dresses came in in the wrong color. After I saw the dresses for the first time, I asked to speak to the owner. She was the most unprofessional business owner I have ever dealt with. I am not usually one to complain or even post reviews like this but I have to say that I thank God I did not go through Jinny's Bridal for my wedding dress based on my experience with the bridesmaid dresses. I hope no one has to go through what I went through and I can honestly say that dealing with this place was the most stressful part of my entire wedding planning process.
Shop at your own risk at Jinny's - they were very unprofessional and disorganized through the entire process.

AAAAAAAAAAAAA+++++++++++++++
I am a wedding photographer who recently got married myself! I went to several dress shops, but Jinny's is the best! They are down to earth, honest, fairly priced, and have amazing customer service!
Julie helped me find the perfect dress for my wedding. My Husband and I got married in New York and then had our Honeymoon in Paris... Julie helped me figure out the best way to travel with my dress and keep it wrinkle-free and safe!
... I even brought the dress to Paris with me for a location photo session. I did marry a photographer after all so I had to take advantage of the situation. :)
Here is a link to some of the photos Paul took of me in Paris.
