B Street Bombers

The B Street Bombers were the first band we heard from after we submitted an invitation for bands to contact us through a wedding vendor directory. My then-fiance went to hear them in concert and was suitably impressed, so we decided to hire them for our reception.

I had envisioned a big, brassy, sound for our reception entertainment, and that was what the B Street Bombers delivered. As a 10-piece ensemble with a male and female lead vocalist, they were a musical powerhouse. Their repertoire ranges from 1920s to current hits and they were willing to learn a new song for our first dance.

Booking a band rather than a DJ for our reception meant laying out more cash, but as soon as we entered the reception I commented to my husband that booking a band, and specifically the B Street Bombers, was the single best wedding-related decision we made. It lent an entirely different atmosphere to the reception than a DJ could have created; I joked to my husband that they "classed things right up." The dance floor wasn't overly active since we had an afternoon reception and many of our guests weren't big dancers, but everyone raved about the band and during a break in the action we made a point of telling them how well they were doing and not to take the lack of dancing personally. :)

Our only minor complaints are that the volume was a bit too loud for ease of conversation with our guests, and that the band could be a bit hard to get in contact with during the planning stages. Overall, however, we were extrememly satisfied and would highly recommend the B Street Bombers.
