When I was looking for a photographer for our Maui wedding, I searched all over the internet. I stumbled across Joanna's website and was SO IMPRESSED by how she captured all the couples love, happiness, the real moments of the day. This is what I wanted as a bride. I wanted to look at my pictures and feel like it was a snap shot of the most wonderful day of our lives, and it was. She took such beautiful, endearing, one-of-a-kind, artistic, and STUNNING photos. I just can't believe that that is MY wedding when I look at the photos she took. Her customer service, attention to detail, and passion for her work also makes her the best. I felt happy to have her and her team there on my wedding day. I felt like they really cared about making everything easy and perfect for us, that we weren't just a client. Also, she is fair with her pricing unlike many photo vendors in the Hawaii area. All and all, 5-Star service and product!

Thank you Joanna for taking the most beautiful photos I have ever seen, being so "on-it", and helping us achieve the perfect wedding.

I'm so happy that I can finally provide a review for Joanna!

I first contacted her in the fall of 2007 for my May 2008 wedding in Hawaii. Coming from Toronto, I didn't have any contacts in Hawaii. We knew no one, but we knew we wanted beautiful wedding images. I found Joanna through a recommendation from another wedding board. I'm so happy I found her. Not only is she an amazing person, she is an amazing photographer. She gave us the most beautiful wedding photos we could ask for. She worked so hard that day in the heat and even shot our wedding a near 6 weeks after her baby was born! And on top of this, she even had our "teasers" on her blog before we left Hawaii. Our complete photos arrived in a beautiful package shortly after we returned to Toronto. We were so happy to share them with our family and friends. Overall, I don't know how she does it!

Since our wedding, I've watched Joanna's photography grow more and she's a huge inspiration. I'm so happy to see so many other beautiful weddings on her blog. It makes me just want to go back to Hawaii for our family photos with Joanna.

I didn't give this review a monetary amount, because I feel her artistic ability to create beautiful images shouldn't be driven by price. Wedding photography is priceless and I know she invests in the best equipment, continues attending amazing workshops in Maui and continues to deliver the best photographic product to her couples. And this effort shows. There are so many elements and hours of effort that go into producing beautiful images, that cost really shouldn't be a driving factor factor. Joanna delivered above and beyond what we wanted.

It's almost been two years since our wedding, but I still look my beautiful wedding photos and love them more and more.

I could not say enough positive things about Joanna. I feel incredibly lucky to have had her as a photographer. I was very nervous on my wedding day and Joanna had such a sweet, calming presence. I feel like she captured the true essence of the day, taking both candid and posed photos. I never felt "ordered around" like I have witnessed at other people's weddings. She was so unintrusive. And her photos were just stunning... I look at them over and over. She has such an eye for light and angles and interesting scenery... all in all, I could not have made a better choice in wedding photographers!!!

My wife and I debated between a local wedding in the San Francisco Bay Area or a destination wedding in Maui. We met Joanna in early September when she completed our engagement session... the photos were unbelievable... we knew immediately that Joanna was tremendously talented and that our wedding photos would be fantastic. What makes Joanna a phenomenal photographer is how comfortable she makes you feel... and this really shows in her photos.
Our wedding was spectacular, the weather was great, and all of our guests had and incredible time... but after the best day of your life most newlyweds just have memories... we also had Joanna. By far my favourite vendor to work with! Joanna was so sweet and my husband and I couldn't be more pleased with our pictures. I used her for our August '09 wedding at the Olowalu plantation house on Maui and was blown away by her work. I'd hired her a year prior, knowing that she had a laid back, authentic style that really suited our personalities. Joanna is the consummate professional - everyone at the wedding remarked that it was so nice to NOT notice the photographer during the wedding ceremony. She was totally unobtrusive! Now that's the sign of someone who knows what they're doing!

A week after the wedding, my husband and I did a trash the dress session with Joanna, which was SO much fun. We caught some great light, laughed tons and got the most amazing pictures out of it.

I cannot recommend her enough! She's SUCH a great talented photographer and a real pleasure to work with!

The only feedback I could give would be that you were more assertive with the wedding party in getting pictures taken. I also forgot to put the entire wedding party on my list of pictures to be taken, it would have been great if you had mentioned that option before ending the night.

Joanna was professional, friendly, and very comfortable to work with. We loved our photos and look forward to returning to Maui sometime (hopefully) in the near future so she can take photos of our future family.

Of all of the vendors I dealt with, Joanna was the most responsive and professional. Beyond her stellar professionalism, her photos were stunning and truly captured the feelings and emotion behind the day. In my opinion, a great photographer is one who fades into the background. We rarely noticed her presence at times and those shots ended up being the best candid photos. I can't thank her enough!

We had a destination wedding in Maui, HI. My husband and I are from Arizona. Finding a great photographer was the most important aspect of our wedding planning because it is something we would have forever. I spent several months researching photographers online, and never was quite sold on any of them. Luckily, I came across Joanna's website on a florists blog. Immediately, I knew she was the one. I sent her an email and shortly there-after, she responded and asked if we could speak on the phone. Her professionalism and willingness to speak to me made me feel so comfortable with my decision. She even contacted me on Facebook. No other vendor I contacted took that step to get to know exactly what it was we were envisioning for one of the most special days of our life. Joanna went above and beyond every expectation we had. The pictures were absolutely breath taking. She captured the emotion of the day and the beauty of us and our surroundings. Joanna was incredibly flexible and allowed us to split up the three hour time into two days. We shot the day of our wedding and the morning after. She even took the time to go beyond and gave us unlimited photographs. I swear we have about 600 images from our wedding day all on a CD that she mailed to us, edited, shortly after the wedding. Joanna is no fuss and she doesn't nickle and dime you like several photographers out there. She even made a slide show of our images that played along to a Jason Mraz song that was so precious. Above all, Joanna is an incredibly happy and positive person, who knows her craft and constantly seems to be learning more every day. I 100% recommend her to anyone planning on getting married in Maui. My Husband and I could not have been happier with our experience with Joanna and the pictures that she captured for us.
