During the two years I planned my wedding, I spent at least 6 months researching photographers. Once I stumbled upon John, I stopped. I immediately fell in love with the quiet, unobtrusive way he captured emotion in his photography. I am incredibly picky when it comes to art in all its forms, photography being prized amongst the mediums. John's unique style brought to mind one of my favorite artists, Edward Hopper. Although the mediums are different, the two share the uncanny ability to capture and explore exact human emotion in a single moment. I am beyond pleased that we hired John as our wedding photographer. He was a pleasure to work with and his photos exceeded my high expectations. Looking back through our wedding gallery I was able to relive the moment I married the love of my life, overwhelmed with the emotions I had felt that day. My husband and I are so grateful for John and his incredible artistry. Do not look any further than John Heredia!! Book him today!

John Heredia was the photographer for our wedding last August 2012. we wouldn't wish for a better photos, he put our wedding in a beautiful pictures for us to remember for the rest of our life. we recommend John for your wedding, you will never regret it. He's the best of the best.

We had a great time with John and his wife Jen. They both are so easy going, professional, fun, and flexible. My husband and I felt so comfortable taking pictures with them and think they brought out our personalities even more. We can't wait to see our pictures!!!

John was awesome! Still waiting on photos, but he was very responsive and replied to every email and phone call in a timely fashion. He honestly was a life saver and worked with my budget. Very professional throughout my wedding weekend. Would definitely use his services again!

Love, love, love him!
I did a modeling shoot with John way back when and had so much fun, I've always wanted him to be my wedding photog. We had him and couldn't have been happier! Since he was on location, he went above and beyond what he was contracted to do.

I got married in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2011 and John was my wedding photographer. He traveled to Mexico with us for the weekend and was so flexible when it came to all of the arrangements. He went above and beyond to capture photographs at all of our weekend wedding events but without being intrusive. He is very professional yet makes you feel comfortable and at ease when taking the formal shots. His wife accompanied him as his assistant and by the end of the weekend they were really a part of the family. Everyone absolutely loved them and the pictures from our wedding are truly amazing. He captured everything so beautifully and there wasn't a moment that was missed. I highly recommend him and will be using him for all of our future photography needs!

I loved the quality of the pictures John took of our wedding. He knows how to capture the perfect angle, light and moment. He was very professional, but not stuffy and had a lot of input which was great. We also received the digital and hard copies of our pictures quite fast. I highly recommend John's services to any couple that is looking for a great photographer!

John did the photography at a friend's wedding and when they referred him to us, the first thing we realized was that we never even noticed him at her wedding, which I liked. I saw his sample books and was impressed. And I was so happy when my album turned out to be just as impressive as the samples he showed me. He was prompt, professional, fun, and the pictures he took were absolutely beautiful! Even more so was the creative way he put them together in the album. I LOVE it! I have NO complaints about him or his services and would recommend him to my best friend.

About John Heredia Photography

After moving from Atlanta in 2001, John Heredia spent seven years photographing weddings on the east coast of Florida. Thereafter, he expanded his work throughout the United States and abroad, covering regional weddings and destination weddings in a variety of cities nationally and internationally*. While still in Florida (summer 2007) one of those cities was Madison WI where John met his wife Jennifer on an outward bound flight. What would normally be a huge inconvenience turned out to be a blessing in disguise. The flight was delayed, everyone departed the plane, and John and Jenn spent the entire day together. After a long distance relationship, John moved back to Atlanta and Jennifer headed south from Madison. Together they started enjoying Georgia together. On July 3rd of 2010, John and Jennifer were married. By the fall of that same year, the couple moved to Baltimore MD.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Do you offer special techniques such as hand-coloring or toning?

My special techniques are both in camera and in post-production, what I call "enhancement". What I offer is a natural realism told as a narrative. Your wedding pictures will be crisp, clear, and flattering.

Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?

Traveling to a destination wedding or simply showing up next door always presents a unique lighting situation. Knowing how to see the light and what best to do with it is the heart of what I have to offer you. To me it is about flattering the subject.

Is your media preference film or digital?

Digital. I love film and left it only a few year back, so I have been trained to see light. One of the main reasons I switched to digital was 1) waiting until digital quality was as good as film and 2) the environmental waste that film & processing creates.

How many photographers do you work with?

I work with a seasoned and cultivated 2nd shooter, and also an assistant/shooter. Depending on the event, I may have additional shooters present. Our goal is to give you various perspectives and also a smooth service.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

Yes! I want to personally shoot your celebration! It is also addressed in our agreement.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

No! However, I am available to cover an entire weekend event: rehearsal dinner, wedding, and brunch. Also, some cultures have weddings that last for several days. I can also cover three separate events on each day if I am certain they will not overlap in any way.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

This is a worse case scenario! This question is specifically addressed in the agreement. In general, the 2nd photographer will become the primary shooter.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

More than I want to! I have all professional gear, not consumer or "pro-summmer" gear. I have enough lights, camera, and action to not miss a beat.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

The same answer from above is applicable here! I have more than I want to bring with me, but it is all needed at some point.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

I start at 6.5 hours of coverage and am available for 8, 10 hour days.

Are you available to shoot extra hours? If yes, how much do you charge for extra hours?

I am available to shoot extra hours at your consent.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

I do not require the client provide me or my team with meals. However, most all clients offer this. I bring my own snacks since I burn a lot of calories during the day!

Do you charge for travel?

All my packages are inclusive. My quoted rates include travel to your location.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

My enhancement is applied to every image before it is uploaded to your online gallery. Posting times are between 4-10 weeks after your event, depending on the time of year.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

4x6 or 3.5x5 proofs in a presentation proof box are available as an a la carte item to include in your customized package.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

All the images are the property of the client. It is listed in the agreement that I "borrow" the images to use for advertising purposes only.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

Final enhanced, hi-res, print quality images are presented to the client.

Will images be available for viewing online?

All the enhanced images are posted to the client's online gallery.

What kind of albums do you offer?

I only offer hand-crafted album with photographic paper. The photographic paper is archival. The lines I use are Graphistudio, Renaisannce (SOHO), and Queensberry.

When will the client get the final album?

After you have made your albums selections and customized your wedding album, the delivery time for album proofs are available between 3-5 weeks. This depends on the size of the album and time of year. Once the albums proofs are approved, the album manufacture's delivery date varies depending on the time of year. It can take anywhere from 3-10 weeks.
