A Stress-Free Wedding Dance

My husband and I were thrilled with our lessons from John & Maria of Joria Productions. Private lessons helped us focus on exactly what we needed to learn (which was everything!) and let us focus on our music and our preferred style of dance. John & Maria are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about their craft -- not to mention that they are phenomenal dancers themselves. It is a huge benefit to have a male and female instructor teaching together so that they can swoop in as needed to demonstrate and correct. On our wedding day we felt relaxed and confident as we stepped on to the dance floor and our guests were blown away by our simple but elegant dance that ended with a dip and a kiss! We considered the lessons a gift to ourselves and they provided us some much needed time together in the final weeks before the wedding where we were able to just enjoy each other's company.

Husband-wife team John and Maria are the dance teachers. My husband constantly stepped on my toes (sorry honey) before we went to lessons. Now he cruises around the dance floor. They gave him confidence as well as knowledge of dance steps. They created a monster- he wants to keep going for more lessons even though the wedding is over!

We had 3 lessons plus the ½ hour consultation. My husband does not dance at all and I tend to lead. We just didn’t want to look stoic and uncomfortable. So in that time, they taught us how to move together and add spins. The goal was to give us that comfort level and just have fun with it. I could not believe we pulled it off! Not only did we have fun with it but we worked the room with every move we learned. One piece of advice they gave us that helped – when the music begins, have him hold your hand and walk you around the dance floor in a circle. It’s almost like him introducing you to everyone as his wife. IT’s not only a nice thing to do but it relaxes the both of you. Then you just move into the dance. I highly recommend them!!!!
