Reviews for Journeys of the Heart

Sharon Browning:
She is a personal friend who did our wedding. However, the company Journeys of the Heart (www.journeysoftheheart.org) is where she got her ideas. She is friends with the people who began that company and I contacted her thinking that is where she was. So one could go to Journeys of the Heart to get a very personalized and secular ceremony.
Sharon was amazing. We met with her two times before our wedding to talk about readings, ideas and for her to get to know us (she knew me but not my husband prior). She had some interesting ideas on where/ when to put the readings and helped with vows, blessing and ring exchange. She also gave a great “homily” that she drew from our love stories. It was very personalized. Although she had never done one before, I know she got ideas from www.journeysoftheheart.org so I would recommend them.

Since we are an interfaith couple and neither of us are religious, we searched for a non-denominational officiant. I met with Journeys of the Heart and had a meeting with Micki. We immediately loved her unique ideas and felt that it would be perfect for us. She had all sorts of ideas like passing the rings through the crowd at the ceremony so everyone close to you touches it, the hands ceremony, the circling of flowers, etc. In addition, she suggested that we add our respective traditions without being too religious (unity candle, breaking of the glass, etc.) She gave us the full script of the ceremony before hand and we edited and customized it. This was especially nice because she had a personalized love story which we used to say what we wanted to say to each other without having to say it ourselves. It was short, sweet and to the point. Afterwards, we had so many compliments on how the ceremony fitted us so perfectly. .

Kelly Fuddy, of Journeys of the Heart, officiated our recent Lancaster wedding. I called her initially just to get a feel for her personality (totally normal!) and then arranged a telephone meeting between me, my fiance, and Kelly. She really got us thinking about what we wanted from our ceremony. She sent us a "Love Story" form, which we initially cringed at and delayed filling out. We were pleasantly surprised how she took the information we provided and created an AMAZING ceremony. We got tons of compliments from our guests. My mom insists that that was the best wedding ceremony she has ever been to. I can't say enough great things about Kelly and would 100% recommend her to anyone.

We had Diane Smith-Hoban as our officiant. We heard so many compliments about Diane and the ceremony, more than any other aspect of the wedding. I can't count how many times someone came up to us and said it was the best wedding ceremony they have ever attended. She made it personal and beautiful and has great comic timing and wit and had our family and friends laughing. Journeys of the Heart creates a ceremony which honors the couple and glories in the partnership they are creating. This isn't the same ceremony everyone else does, you get a one of kind experience. I cannot recommend it enough. PS. We had two couples at the wedding who are getting married next year, they both asked for Diane's number.

We had Laura Ford officiate our wedding. She was really a joy to work with - taking so much time to get to know us and really putting together a heartfelt, personal ceremony. I had quite a few guests tell me that our ceremony was the most "real & personal" ceremony that they had ever seen. Laura was also so accommodating - marrying us OUTSIDE in 35 degree weather. Thank you, Laura! I know we were a little crazy with that one :)
GUEST

Laura Ford from Journeys of the Hearts performed our ceremony. When we first met her, she was very interested in knowing exactly what we wanted and how we wanted our love story told. During our ceremony she incorporated our family members who are no longer with us, and she told the perfect love story that really made for a beautiful ceremony, it was very touching. She really made our day special!

Journeys of the Heart is a wonderful ministry service and we are so happy we looked to them to find the officiant for our wedding. On their website are extensive bios of all their officiants (about 22) and it is easy to read through them and get a feel for who might fit your personal style. My husband and I read through the bios separately, and both of us chose Jim Rosengarten to be the officiant for our wedding! From the first time we met Jim, we knew we had made the right decision. He is warm, personable, and genuinely interested in getting to know the couples with whom he works. After listening closely to our vision for the wedding and carefully reading our responses to the Journeys of the Heart questionnaire (including questions about how we met, when we first knew we were in love, etc.), Jim wrote the most beautiful and personal ceremony for us. Our guests were very impressed also, commenting that they had never been to a more tailor-made event that aptly reflected the bride and groom. My husband and I were honored to have Jim perform our wedding ceremony. We highly recommend Jim – and Journeys of the Heart – to any future bride & groom!
GUEST

We were getting married outside and are not very religious. Our venue recommended Journeys of the Heart and they were was wonderful. We specifically worked with David Braneky. He was very responsive with all the questions I sent to him. The day of he was there when he said he would be and had a great personality. He made us feel at ease when we were nervous standing up in front of almost 200 people.
GUEST

Miki Young was absolutely wonderful. She took the time to know about the bride and groom and made the ceremony very special. Quite a few people commented that it was the most exceptional ceremony they had been to.
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart is fantastic! We selected Diane and she was absolutely perfect! We loved our ceremony and we received many compliments!
GUEST

We had the most memorable and amazing experience with Susanne Wilson. She is a caring, calming, genuine person and was an absolute pleasure to work with. She has such a unique and beautiful way with words. She created a wonderful wedding ceremony for us- one that captured our love and relationship perfectly. I truly cannot say enough kind words about her. I was amazed by all the wonderful feedback we got from our friends and family regarding the ceremony- they were so moved. Everyone kept saying that it was hands down the best ceremony they had ever been a part of. I highly, highly recommend Susanne to everyone and anyone. She was such a special part of our wedding day and we will never forget it or her!
GUEST

We were very pleased with Susanne Wilson. She is one of the sweetest women I have ever met and she put together a wonderful ceremony. We got so many compliments about her and the ceremony. We couldn't be happier!
GUEST

Miki Young was the officiant for our interfaith wedding. She did an AMAZING job. The ceremony was just what we wanted: person, unique, light-hearted, and not too long:) Many of our guests raved about Miki, and that our ceremony was the best they have ever been to. It could not have gone any better, and it was a great experience working with Miki.
GUEST

One of the best decisions we made was choosing Maria Odilia from Journeys of the Heart. We knew immediately after meeting Maria for the first time that she was a perfect fit for us. She worked with us for months tweeking our ceremony to exactly how we wanted it; we got so many compliments on it afterwards from guests. Maria was a delight to have with us on our wedding day!
GUEST

They did the job! Great pricing options for different ceremonies. We didn't think with only talking to us for 15 mins that Naila would know what to do for us but it was perfect. We were allowed to change the wording and add things that we wanted.
GUEST

Irene Fulton – Journeys of the Heart as a company is amazing. They are quick torespond, and have a number of officiants to choose from. We read through the list and found Irene tobe the best fit for us. After meeting her in person, we knew we chose the best choice for us. She is trulywonderful. From the moment we met, we got this peaceful vibe from her, and as two very emotionalpeople, that was definitely a must have. She worked with us to create a personalized ceremony for thebig day. She offered suggestions, fixed up some wording to sound more formal, and lent us a helpfulhand whenever it was needed. On the day of the wedding she was prompt and quickly helped the guys get in order (we didn’t do a firstlook). She delivered our ceremony so beautifully that there wasn’t a dry eye in the whole place. Shewas patient (with our cries of happiness) and was overall the only person I could ever imagine guidingus through our handfasting, and marriage. Every single person commented on how unique, loving andwonderful our ceremony was – a large part of the credit to that belongs with Irene.I highly recommend Journeys of the Heart as a company, but especially Irene Fulton.
GUEST

We had David Braneky as our officiant at our Wedding. He was very professional and easy to get along with. Our ceremony was very personal and delivered with perfection. Our guests loved the ceremony and we got a lot of rave reviews. Thank you for being a part of our special day.
GUEST

Diane Smith Hogan was the best officiant we could ever have imagined! She had so many great suggestions and she let us customize the selections she had. She listened to everything we said and the ceremony was really US! She looked at the site and made the best suggestion to have us facing our guests, to really include them. We really felt like she had our service in hand. Thank you so much Diane! Love, Karen and Michael Curtis
GUEST

I would HIGHLY recommend Journeys of the Heart if you are looking for a beautiful, personalized, spiritual ceremony. Maria Odilia crafted such a meaningul and beautiful ceremony for my husband and I. So many guests commented on how personal and beautiful and special our ceremony was.
GUEST

I can't say enough about Diane! She was FABULOUS! She helped us create a wedding ceremony that was unique to us. She offered great suggestions and was very patient with any changes we had. We had so many compliments from guests on the ceremony!!!
GUEST

We had Diane from Journey's of the Heart. She did an amazing job with our ceremony. We had a lot of people come up to us and say that was the best ceremony they had ever seen! She only met with us one time and yet it seemed like she had known us forever! JOTH is great for designing your own ceremony. Diane walked through everything with us and asked us what we wanted, special things we wanted to add, and you get to pretty much create a ceremony exactly how you want it. Diane did a great job sharing our story during the ceremony and really focusing on the love and the importance of the day. She was so easy to work with and such a great person in general. We were so happy with how the ceremony came out and I would recomend her to anyone!
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart of wonderful, and our officiant, Diane, definitely made the ceremony incredible! Our ceremony was custom made, and completely us!
GUEST

We chose to work with Gabby and she created a beautiful ceremony for us! Gabby worked with us every step of the way from sending us multiple drafts of our ceremony until we were perfectly happy with it to calming our nerves before and during the ceremony. Our ceremony was a wonderful blend of Jewish traditions but done in an interfaith way. We were so happy that our ceremony really felt like it was crafted just for us. Our families and friends could not stop talking about how beautiful they thought the ceremony was.
GUEST

Miki Young was our officiant from Journeys of the Heart and I can't tell you how happy we were with everything she did for us. We first sat down with her and went over our love story, how we met, family background, etc. After two meetings, she put together a great program to incorporate some cultural traditions. I received so many compliments on the ceremony and what a wonderful job she did.
GUEST

Journeys of the the Heart was the perfect choice for our wedding. We were initially skeptical of using a service like them as it seemed a bit "one size fits all", but we couldn't have been more wrong. They tailored the ceremony exactly to our needs! Al Vernacchio was excellent - he spent a lot of time with us, getting to know us, what type of experience we wanted, and the little things that made us decide to get married, and it all came through in the ceremony. It was made just for us, and we got so many compliments on how beautiful it was! We can't thank Mr. Vernacchio and Journeys of the Heart enough for the great experience!
GUEST

My husband and I used Journeys of the Heart for our June wedding this year and Urbane Peachey was our officiant. We didn't want a very religious ceremony but wanted to have God incorporated. Other than the Irish Blessing and to be declared husband and wife we had no idea what we wanted to do for our ceremony or how to go about putting one together. Urbane was great working with us to find what we wanted, he had examples of different ceremony components and we were able to choose the ones we liked to create something that was perfect for us. Our wedding was outside, in June, in 90-something heat on a very sunny day. I thought my guests were going to leave and my soon-to-be husband was going to pass out. Urbane got through the ceremony without rushing, but without taking too long too. My husband and I decided before hand that we weren't going to have him tell a story of how we met at the ceremony. During the ceremony he said "When I first sat down with Jean and Anthony they told me the beautiful story of how they meet.....which you can ask them about AFTER the ceremony" which caused everyone to laugh with relief when they realized they didn't have to sit through a long story in the heat. Urbane was sweet, subtly funny and we were happy he was a part of our special day. You can tell he enjoys what he does and genuinely enjoys being part of such an important event.

Kelly Fuddy wrote an amazing wedding ceremony program for us. She included alot of personal touches and our guests complimented us on the content and presentation of the ceremony. She was wonderful to work with!!
GUEST

I highly recommend Diane from JOH...she made our ceremony so personal and special. She was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process and made us feel completely comfortable.
GUEST

My husband and I had a small family ceremony in 2009 and Linda Noonan from JOH was our officiant. We loved her so much that when we had a our vow renewal ceremony and big reception this year, we knew right away that we wanted her to a part of our ceremony again. She is very professional and made our ceremony very personal. We can't say enough praises about her!
GUEST

Wilson made our ceremony personal and professional. He was very delightful to work with and gave us exactly what we wanted in our ceremony :)

Choosing Journeys of the Heart for our wedding officiant was one of the best decisions for our wedding. Both my husband and I are not religious and were dreading locating a meaningful officiant that would capture our spirits without bringing religion into the ceremony. Journeys of the Heart was a perfect fit. We were able to meet with HELEN BURKE almost a year in advance for about an hour and discussed how we wanted our ceremony to be. Helen was very accomodating and together we designed OUR perfect wedding. Her love story brought tears to the eyes of many. We were participants and designers in every aspect of our ceremony and for that I will be eternally grateful. Thank you Helen for your amazing ceremony. Our guests still talk about how wonderful it was a year later.
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart was perfect for us! We are not part of a local church so we were worried about finding someone who understood that although we are not very religious, we are very spiritual and wanted a meaningful ceremony. Urbane Peachey was our officiant and he was so amazing! He met with us and truly got to know us as a couple. the ceremony he created for us was so personalized and unique to us. Because of that it was so meaningful and emotional. He was also always ther for us when we had any questions. Our guests all commented on how much they enjoyed our ceremony too!
GUEST

Kellly Fuddy was our officiant in Lancaster, PA. she did a wonderful job of personalizing our wedding and was even able to perform the ceremony in two languages which was wonderful! It's wonderful to see that there is a company out there that focuses on making your wedding a special one and doesn't judge based on extreme religious beliefs.
GUEST

From the very first contact, I knew that Susanne Wilson was THE officiant for us. (also great, even though Journeys is far away, Susanne is local!) I have never met a more caring and considerate person, and the notion of being able to custom-design our ceremony was really neat. Susanne was patient, full of great suggestions, and most importantly, has a fantastic sense of humor. We had such a great time at our rehearsal and ceremony. It was very important to us as we are not "religious" that we have an intimate and yet laid back ceremony. Susanne captured the essence of who we are, and put together a ceremony that was absolutely unforgettable! Everyone that I spoke with at Journeys was so very pleasant and kind... I would not hesitate to recommend them!
GUEST

My husband and I are not religious, so it was important for us to find a non-denominational officiant. I read about Journeys of the Heart on Wedding Wire, and thought it sounded perfect. It was!Miki was a wonderful officiant. We met with her twice before the ceremony. She is very experienced and easy to talk to, and crafted a very personalized ceremony for us. And it was only 20 minutes, which was a great length for us.We had so many compliments on how beautiful and unique the ceremony was. I highly recommend Miki and Journeys of the Heart.
GUEST

We chose Journeys of the Heart because we were getting married outside, and wanted a non-denominational ceremony. I was a little nervous at first since I belong to a traditional church, but I was put at ease from the first contact. Naila was our officient, and she was wonderful, she sent us several options for the ceremony and let us choose exactly what we wanted to personalize the wedding. She also included a blessing of my children, who were part of the wedding, and this was such a beautiful part of the ceremony. At first my husband thought JOTH was a bit expensive, but after the ceremony we were so happy that we chose them! Naila was wonderful.
GUEST

I chose Journey's of the Heart via the internet. Right from the start I was confident and felt that I was making a great choice. Right away I was contacted my Margurette. We talked for along time and she listened to all my thoughts and concerns. We were then matched up with Kelly Fuddy. We met with her for 1 hour and discussed our wedding. I felt we hit if off very well from the start. Over the past year we mainly stayed in contact by email but she was very nice and quick to respond. Our wedding was held outside. Of course it rained. We ended up cutting just about all of our ceremony out except our rings, and vows. Kelly was so sweet and agreed to stay longer than expected and finished up our ceremony at our receptions. I was so thrilled that she was willing to do that for us!
GUEST

The owner of the company got all of my preferences over the phone and was very friendly. She matched me up with the perfect officiant. I received many compliments on how beautiful the ceremony was. I couldn't be happier with everything!
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart is a wonderful company to work with! They will make sure your day is as special as it can be!
GUEST

My husband and I got married outside, and were seeking a spiritual service relatively 15minutes long. Personally, I had no idea there were so many options available for vows and ceremony types and rituals (like wine drinking or unity candles...) we could pick from. Our officiant, Urbane Peachey was absolutely amazing. He was exactly what we were hoping for, and really provided us with unique choices and a helping hand on what to select for our service. Never judgemental, always supportive and he basically gave us the pieces to our ceremony and allowed us to pick and choose what best suited our personalities. I really think Urbane's kind nature and genuine love for what he does really made us love working with him and being in his company and all of our guests thought he was delightful, kind, and genuinely happy to be there! He brings a sense of peace to the meetings and the wedding day, and he performed a truly special and unique service that everyone will always remember!!
GUEST

We had our original officiant (not from Journeys) move away about six months before our wedding and on a recommendation from our Silver Sound DJ we went with Maria Romeu from Journeys of the Heart. They do completely customizeable weddings and were willing to incorporate a candlelight ceremony piece for me. Knowing we wanted a portion candlelight and do the unity candle, Maria came up with the idea that we'd pass the light from back to front of the wedding guests at the ceremony and once it reached our moms in the front row than we'd get the light from them to light the unity candle. Everyone loved this!! It was an awesome sight to stand up there and watch the light spread from guest to guest and it made for a unique wedding moment. Maria was so personable and nice to use when we met to put the ceremony together. She also asks that you not include her for the dinner which is nice because there are so many other expenses and vendors to serve it was nice that from the start she said don't worry about feeding her. She was so friendly that she chatted with the other guests during cocktail hour and they all seemed to really like her.
GUEST

Diane, was one of the best things to happen to this wedding! It was a little more money than I wanted to spend, but worth every penny. It was the best ceremony I have ever heard! and the best part was it was mine!
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart was a very thorough agency that connected me with a local officiant. The officiant was extremely accommodating when I changed both my venue, and date, even though he had to drive an hour to get to the ceremony!
GUEST

We were originally scheduled to have 2 different officiants who canceled on us & it led us to Kelly Fuddy with JOTH. She designed a perfect ceremony for us by utilizing a one on one meeting in which we talked about ourselves & our relationship. She designed a truly personal, intimate, romantic & unique ceremony for us.
GUEST

People are still raving about our officiant, Miki Young from Journeys of the Heart. She wrote a beautiful ceremony which told our story and integrated both of our different religious backgrounds. She had wonderful suggestions when we spoke on the phone. This company was truly a joy to work with. Our original officiant backed out on us a few weeks before the wedding, and my wedding planner called Miki because she had worked with her before. I'm so glad she did.
GUEST

We used Urbine Peachy from Journeys of the Heart and were very pleased with his service. he took the time to get to know us and make our ceremony deeply personal and spiritual.
GUEST

Marguerite was wonderful. The ceremony was beautiful and were a reflection of me and my hubby. I have already recommended Journeys of the Heart to my recently engaged friends.
GUEST

Maria of Journeys of the Heart performed as our Minister for our ceremony. Throughout the entire process, she took us, the couple into account by personalizing the ceremony to what fits us and not a cookie-cutter ceremony. We took our own ideas and traditions as well as her experience and she created a beautiful ceremony that made us feel united. In terms of readings, vows, etc, Maria provides an extensive collection from which to choose either to use directly or to mix and match based on what means most to the couple. She is warm, kind-hearted, and a gentle calmness that is helpful to brides, grooms, and their family as the most joyous of occasions can be the most stressful as well. Maria did an excellent job of managing everyone at the rehearsal.
GUEST

Journeys of the Heart was wonderful. Our officiant was Naila, and she delivered a beautiful, personal ceremony (despite the rain!) We received so many compliments on how unique our wedding was, and it wouldn't have been the same without her. I'd recommend Naila and Journeys of the Heart to anyone.
GUEST

Look no further! Write the check! I have to say that my fiance and I thought Journeys of the Heart was a bit expensive. WE WERE WRONG. It was the best ceremony that we could have dreamed of. We highly recommend them!

Laura Ford from Journeys of the Heart was our officiant at our May 30, 2009 wedding. She was wonderful! We met with her at Christmastime to discuss our vision for our ceremony and then she provided us with lots of options for readings/prayers/etc to use during the ceremony.Laura helped us incorporate different traditions in our ceremony and allowed us to write our own vows. All of our guests told us what a personal and moving ceremony we had and we're so glad we found Laura Ford and Journeys of the Heart to help make it that way!

Thank you for your response to Journeys of the Heart on the Wedding Wire site. While Richard is no longer serving with us, we have a staff of over 20 officiants. With such a staff our clients approach their wedding with comfort and joy knowing they have a ceremony fit to their specific desires and the backing of an organization to fulfill their needs.

With only a couple of months before our wedding, we switched from our original pastor to Journeys of the Heart and Diane was luckily available. She was very nice and easy to work with. After our meeting, she sent us a ceremony with various examples of each section which we could either select from or choose our own version for. The price was high but totally worth it for us. We received many compliments about our beautiful ceremony and Diane did a very professional job.
GUEST

We are not religious and did not want a ceremony where all the guests zoned out while the officiant droned on and on with stereotypical wedding readings. Linda Noonan from Journeys of the Heart wrote the perfect ceremony for us. It was succinct yet meaningful, as she spoke about our individual personalities as well as our relationship. She not only gave us many options for the vows, exchange of rings, and blessing, but we were able to combine and/or omit portions from the various choices. Each part of the ceremony transitioned smoothly into the subsequent part. We also gave her a few of our favorite quotations, and she incorporated them seamlessly into the script. She emailed us a copy of the entire ceremony before the wedding, and on the day of the wedding, she adhered to the agreed upon version. There were no surprises, and she never sounded like she was preaching. She was always poised and professional. Our only criticism is about the pricing. It seems kind of silly that JOTH charges $100 extra for doing a rehearsal the day before the wedding. However, Linda assured us the rehearsal wasn't necessary so we opted out of it and did the rehearsal an hour before the ceremony which was more than sufficient. We were incredibly impressed with the quality of our ceremony, and highly recommend Linda and Journeys of the Heart! Thanks for making our ceremony meaningful and memorable!
GUEST

Jim Rosengarten was our officiant on our wedding day. He created a wonderful ceremony for us. He was always on top of everything, stuck to deadlines, and was very willing to communicate. He met with us before starting anything so he could get a feel for us as a couple and so we could get to know him as well. He was open about suggestions, made whatever revisions we needed and made sure the ceremony was exactly what we wanted. I would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding officiant.
GUEST

Irene was great to work with. She was open to our suggestions and seemed to enjoy the "non traditional" style we were looking for. She helped us make our wedding very special.
GUEST

Diane Smith-Hoban officiated a fabulous ceremony for us. She is kind and her spirit really speaks to you. Our guests thought the ceremony was beautiful and touching. She didn't have it very easy either as this was a cross cultural wedding and her flexibility was much appreciated. I highly recommend Diane and Journey's of the Heart.
GUEST

Journey's of the Heart is a great company to consider using if you are wanting a wedding ceremony tailored to your custom needs/beliefs. We had a non-denominational ceremony and our officiant, Katie Letterio, worked very closely with us to draft our ceremony and give advice. She also was available to lead the rehearsal (for an extra fee) which was extremely important because of the custom nature of the ceremony. I was glad to have Katie help walk us through that process.

Everyone loved our officiant, Diane, and thought she was outstanding. Her calm caring demeanor, really set the perfect mood for the wedding. We loved that we were able to create the ceremony that we wanted. I would recommend Journeys of the Heart to anyone looking for an officiant.
GUEST

We absolutely loved our officiant, Kelly. The ceremony was done beautifully from start to finish. She did such a wonderful job putting together a personalized ceremony - she included our son/step-son and she even remembered to input small details such as our first date at Starbucks! My husband and I couldn't have dreamt of a better day. Kelly and Journeys of the Heart truely made all of our wishes come true when it came to our ceremony- thank you very much!

Thank you for responding so positively to your experience of Journeys of the Heart officiant, Kelly Fuddy. I loved so much what you wrote! I just didn't understand, given your wonderful connection, why your overall rating was less than a 5! Kelly is a blessing to us in this work and to all who have the privilege to work with her.
GUEST

Let us write our ceremony and did a fabulous job day of!

Thank you for your response to our wedding officiant services. Given that you received the choice and service that was exactly what you wanted AND a wonderful "day of" the wedding experience, it seems like maybe your overall rating might have been higher, like a 5! Thank you for the honor of serving as your wedding officiant!
What makes JOTH so special is how they take the time to learn about the couple and personalize the wedding with refections and anecdotes. There ceremonies are not just a few forgettable passages from the bible and them a kiss. It's a deeply spiritual and personal account of the love between two people. I have many ceremonies performed by them on my website. Feel free to contact me to show you some samples.
Naila Francis did a FABULOUS job officiating my clients' wedding last month. She was professional and charming. I'll recommend her again and again.
