Julian is the best Photographer a couple could ask for! He has a great personality and is so easy to talk with. He really gets to know you and what style you like so he can get the best shots that fit you! He worked so hard getting us just the right shots and making sure we got everything in that we needed. Our wedding was a colder day with random showers and he was able to work out places for us to shoot that were beautiful! He was even laying in the wet grass at one point to get a great shot in front of the church! We went down to the statehouse with the bridal party which was just so much fun and we have so many beautiful pictures!!! I cannot reccomend him enough and he is very reasonably priced for the Columbus area. My husband and I were very pleased with his work and cannot wait to use him again in the future!

Our pictures were absolutely gorgeous! Julian takes a lot of time to make sure he is familiar with your venues and finds the best places to take pictures. Many of our friends have said they are the best wedding pictures they have ever seen!

My husband and I both loved the work Julian did! It was well worth the price, and not only were the pictures amazing, but he was as well. We had guests coming up to us saying, "Wow, where did you find this photographer?!" He interacted with all of them very well, got to know some by name, and did great with all of the children at our wedding. He found ways to take the pictures we specifically asked for and took many others that we hadn't asked for, but ended up loving. I could not be more impressed with a photographer!

Shortly after becoming engaged I immediately started looking for the most important aspect of the wedding: the photographer. I had a vision in my mind of exactly what I wanted and when I stumbled across Julian Allen's website I knew I had found it. We live on Maui and planned to have the wedding on island. When I first spoke with Julian I had no idea that he only does weddings in Hawaii for certain months out of the year. We had set a preliminary date of March 24th and I was heartbroken to hear that Julian was only available in Hawaii for Jan. & Feb. I had fallen in love with his work and asked if we changed the date to the first week in March if he could extend his time and with great relief he obliged! Not many people would change the wedding date to book a vendor but we are so happy we did, it was the best decision we could have made. Julian offers something that others simply do not. He does not put a time cap on your special day nor does he take off after he gets the 300 odd photos or so that he is merely getting paid for. He works hard to capture the entirety of you as a couple, your family & friends by devoting the entire week to you. Not only do we have the most amazing photos from our wedding day but we also have gorgeous photos from another shoot done the week of. The compliments we have received regarding our pictures are never ending and we know they are sincere because his work speaks for itself and they are in fact incredible. His passion and innate skill for photography clearly shows in both the way he performs and the way the final proofs turn out. We not only enjoyed the end product but we (along with all our guests) enjoyed the person creating it. Julian is such a personable individual and made taking hundreds of photos not only painless, but fun! It is great to know that we have no regrets when it comes to our photography for a day that can only be relived through photos. We could not recommend him or praise his work any better. The product for the price was remarkable and looking back I would pay much more knowing the quality I would receive. Make the best decision you could make for your special day and BOOK HIM!

Julian was such a wonderful addition to our wedding day! Out of all the things I took from others we "spent our money" on an amazing photographer. Several of my friends had terrible photos and some never received their photos until months after the wedding. Not with Julian, first of all he was so organized he had every shot planned and every shot was stunning. He also helped to set up a timeline and was always quick to answer his phone or email when needing to communicate any changes or if you had any questions. He was not only a hit with the wedding party becuase of his amazing personality, but even our guests complimented him. The best part was that even when one of the venues didnt go as planned he was quick to have a solution and was so wonderful at making the day run smoothly. The best part was that I had access to the edited and I must say beautiful pictures online just 5 days after the wedding! What more could you ask for? He was such a wonderful addition to our wedding day and he captured it amazingly. We could not have asked for a better photographer or better photos, he is truly amazing at what he does!

I would recommend Julian to anyone as their wedding photographer. Not only did my November wedding pictures turn out amazing, but he was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. He helped me create a timeline for the wedding day and made sure that things ran smoothly the day of the wedding. In terms of quality of work his pictures are unbelievable- I receive compliments on them from everyone I show them to! I even received comments from my bridal party and family members of how personable and friendly he was the day of the wedding. I can't say enough good things about Julian! We did our engagement and wedding photos with him. At the time my fiancé and I were both worried about taking the pictures (would it be awkward, how would they turn out) but after having so much FUN at the engagement session we knew we had picked the perfect guy! Julian took the time to research each place we wanted to shoot at and it definitely made a huge difference. For our engagement photos, we wanted pictures at our house with our horses, chickens, cows and dog, and he came twice to figure out lighting/whatever before we actually did the shoot. The wedding photos were no different. My husband actually told me the next day that one of his favorite times during the day was when he and his guys were doing the photos with Julian! (which was actually what they all were dreading most!). After having been in other weddings since mine, I became even more thankful for Julian's subtle control of the day. Basically, he has a "quarterback wristband" that he wears with every shot planned out. Once he takes the shot he removes the piece of paper and goes on to the next. This saves an ENORMOUS amount of time!! and keeps the whole wedding party in a better mood! He also made the effort to learn everybody’s name in the bridal party (which there were 16 of us), which not only made everybody feel good but also helped move things along when he could say “hey Karin move a little to the left.” I think as every bride is, I was still nervous that my wedding photos wouldn't turn out perfect, but I am dead serious when I say that I couldn't have asked for more! The week after my wedding I seriously watched my wedding slideshow he made at least 50 times  His creativity really shows and everybody that has seen our photos can't believe how awesome they turned out. He is worth every penny...probably more :) Two of my friends have already booked him for their weddings and my sister even wished she was able to drag him to Virginia for her wedding! He also got all my wedding photos back to me within days of the wedding!!! In all my research before I booked him, this is almost unheard of with other photographers. I really can’t say enough good things about him; he was an amazing addition to our wedding day!

Throughout the planning process, Julian gave us confidence that our wedding photos would be incridible! Tha peace of mind is priceless. Wedding photos are passed on through generations, so finding a talented professional was a priority. Julian is about as talent and professional as you can find! He really seems to love what he does. He spent a few days before the wedding driving all over the city, in the rain, checking out each of our locations from start to finish. My fiance (now my husband!) ran into him on the golf course while playing a round with his groomsmen before the rehearsal! We also spent a little time a week or so prior creating a schedule for the day so we could take as many amazing shots as possible. On the wedding day, he came prepared complete with a quarterback wristband play holder. My friends loved his sense of humor, and my mom loved his English accent! ;) We had the photos only a few DAYS after the wedding, and they were beautiful! We are very happy with everything about that day, and the photos allow us to relive it. Julian's services were seamless, and choosing him to capture the memories of our wedding day was one of the best decisions we made! :)

Pure Artistry! Out of all the weddings I have been in (and to) I have never seen a photographer so dedicated to his work as Julian. Not only is he fun to work with, he is practical and flexible when weather changes or unexpected circumstances happen. He diligently seeks to find the best photo whether it be location or angle to which to take the photo. You can tell he really loves his job and I promise there are no bad pictures! I have been married once before and I learned the hard way that you get what you pay for. Julian's work is worth every dollar spent! His work is a true piece of art and you can not go wrong with him. Julian Allen is amazing!!! He was recommended to us by a friend of ours and we couldn't have been happier! Julian was our photographer for our 8/27/11 wedding at the Pinnacle Golf Club in Grove City. I can honestly say that he was one of the best vendor's that we worked with for our wedding becuase of him timliness, professionalism and overall value that he would add to our wedding. Of course you want someone to take excellent photos of your big day becuase these are memories that you will treasure for the rest of your lives. You want someone that you can trust and know that your day will be captured how you want it and that is exactly what we got from Julian.
From day one, we received responses from Julian in a timely manner on when to meet to lay out our day. Our first meeting was great. He asked questions that made sense and wanted to get to know the family and wedding party. He showed up at the rehearsal dinner and knew everyone, which was amazing!
The day of the wedding, he showed up at 7:45 to begin taking pictures of my dress, rings and shoes at the ceremony/reception site.
His timliness in getting all photos back to you in amazing. I know other brides who got married before me that has still not received their pictures from their photographer. He had our pictures ready to review when we were on our Honeymoon.

What I found that was really great about Julian is that he only works with one couple a week so that he has that time to get to know the couple and how their wedding day should be captured. You don't feel like you are being rushed at all and appreciate the time that he took with us!

Overall, I would truly recommend Julian Allen to photograph your wedding. It was truly the happiest day of our lives and know that it has been captured in the most fantastic way!

Julian was a great photographer! He was with us from the salon in the morning until almost the end of the reception. You can tell that he takes the job of photographing your wedding very seriously. He took the time to learn all about us and what was and wasn't important to us to make sure he captured the best parts of our day. He is a great value for the quality of pictures that he delivers. Ours are absolutely beautiful! Julian is professional but at the same time he likes to have fun with you and joke around. He keeps his own "play book" on hand to make sure he is able to get all the pictures you want in the time frame you have. We highly recommend!

When I contacted, Julian replied in a most prompt way -- we find him really friendly, pleasant, responsible and professional before we even met. We are inexperienced in wedding planning (non-native too), probably asked the most stupid questions. Julian always patiently helps and gives straightforward suggestions, just like an old honest friend who want you to have a lifetime happiness and good happy memory, nothing less.

Julian takes detailed notes of the places, people and photos we mentioned. He built a personalized archive. Actually it's far more than what we mentioned -- he also scouts out many additional ones that matches our vision. On our wedding day, I was very surprised by the many beautiful places he took us to discover -- they fit us so well. He meticulously visited all the places with me in the week before wedding craziness. He had all well planned in advance and written on his special note cards.

Besides the typical worries of light, temperature, surroundings, etcetera; he thinks many more: group dynamics, people's different personalities, and traffic logistics! You will be amazed by his thoroughness, it's choreographed art.

I knew we're in good hands way before the wedding day and was never stressed about the photos throughout -- the peace of mind is priceless (good sleep makes you glow naturally). Julian could do because he gives an Entire week preparing and working for the lucky couples.

He came to rehearsal and wedding prompt and professional. Everyone of our guests commented how pleasant Julian is, and he blends in naturally with all of us. There was never the stern direction to guests that I read from other scared wedding stories. Everyone could see he likes what he does and he is a people person.

On our day, it unfortunately poured while we're supposed to be in the outdoor photo session. It was so bad that we saw water coming out from a house and car. Although Julian was very prepared -- he had all the rain gears for us, it's simply too stormy. We thought about call it a day. But he wanted us to have the best memory about our day. He constantly checked the weather forecast, where the clouds were moving, which places might be the best. He came up with many ideas about indoor places that were far away from the rain. He run the extra mile for us to have a good time.

On our way, he would sometimes spot a good place and take wonderfully improvised shots-- and he braved it all himself. Residents running through the rain saw the three of us taking photos on the streets - and would still say "congratulations". It's a very heart warming moment, and Julian is the person that brings out the best part in everyone.

My words would not do justice to Julian's artistic creativity. You'll have to see the photos yourself. Friends' comments to Julian's work generated more than our collective on-line existence combined. If you're like us, want an excellent, kind, pleasant and professional person--who enjoys creating the best wedding day experience and life time memories, you have to check out Julian!

Julian was my husband and I's photographer for our July wedding and we couldn't be happier! I cried the first time I saw the photographs and my family and friends couldn't stop complimenting them. Everyone said how great he was to work with and very unobtrusive. We loved working with Julian and Love Love LOVE our wedding photos, he captured the day so beautifully.

Gorgeous Photos!!!

I wanted photos that wouldn't be run of the mill posed wedding photographs. I also wanted something artsy but not too contrived. I searched through dozens of photographers sites before hitting pay dirt when I happened upon Julian's site. The images on his site are stunning! I immediately sent an inquiry. I met with Julian with my mother at a local coffee shop. He was very personable, professional, and obviously passionate about his work. And not that this has any bearing on his abilities but he has a great accent! (He called my mom "mum", it was so cute!)

Julian spent the week leading up to the wedding visiting the venue at the time the ceremony and reception would take place to take note of the lighting and plan some of the shots he would take. Since we were going to be rushed with the schedule for the day of, he also offered to take some pictures at the rehearsal dinner as well which was fabulous and MUCH appreciated. The entire wedding party, including our parents and siblings LOVED Julian. He made taking photos fun instead of tedious. We've gotten tons of compliments on our photos! We really enjoyed working with Julian and will book with him again in a heart beat!

Hands down the best wedding photographer that we have seen. We didn't just want documentation of our wedding, we wanted to have pictures that would, in the future, evoke the same level of emotion we had that day, and that's exactly what we got. His compositions are always spot on, he does amazing editing, and he was really comfortable to work with on our day. When we first met him he made a list of everything we wanted photographed, and particular styles we wanted and he didn't miss anything the day of. We were amazed at how he never seemed to stop all day, we were exhausted by the end of it but he just kept going. He was great at creating compositions by posing us, and he had a lot of great ideas. When we were spent, or getting stressed out, he would give us our space. All of our friends absolutely love his pictures. Really, in every aspect he was exactly what we wanted. Don't pass him up.

Julian is, without question, the best photographer. We found him through a friend, who posted her wedding pictures on Facebook..I later asked for his website information in order to get a better look. I fell in love with the images and couldn't get over how beautiful they all were. We immediately booked an engagement shoot with Julian - the day went by so quickly: he was so friendly and warm, totally professional, and super organized. When we got the images back, they were as beautiful as the ones we saw on his site. Of course we had to get him to do our wedding: best decision of our lives.
Julian totally surpassed our expectations and everyone that was involved with our wedding had nothing but wonderful things to say about him - even the guests were totally charmed by him. We were very lucky to have Julian be our photographer for our engagement and wedding pictures. Julian is very personable and works very hard. He is completely organized...he plans the day so well and even knew the names of everyone in our bridal party and our family! We knew where we wanted to have our photos taken and Julian was able to find the perfect spots for the photos. Julian kept our wedding moving right along and captured our day beautifully. There is no way I can possibly express how much I love Julian! He photographed my daughter's wedding (and took their engagement pictures). The pictures are stunning and very much reflect the personalities of my daughter and her husband. His photos are gorgeous and unique - I would never have thought to set some of them the way he did, yet he was entirely open to suggestions. He truly captured the essence of the day. He spent a lot of time scouting locations and came to the house at least twice to check lighting, etc. He was with us from 7:30 AM (while the girls were getting ready) until about 9:00 PM or so when the reception was winding down. He seemed to be everywhere at once but managed to 'blend in with the woodwork' and got some really great pictures, not just of the bride & groom, but of many of the guests. I loved that he carried with him a list of the pictures we had asked for, just so we didn't forget to get them in the rush of the day, and was more than willing to take a couple of impromptu shots we asked for at the last minute. I couldn't believe how pictures many he took! Between the edited and unedited ones, there are nearly 1,000. AND he had them back to us by Tuesday afternoon (the wedding was on Saturday. He was funny and sweet and wonderful, and I'm so glad he's the one my daughter and son-in-law chose to document such a special day in their lives.

Julian did our engagement and wedding day photographs and we cannot rave enough about him! He is SO easy to work with and does such an amazing job! Julian has a creative, fresh, and fun style. He has a wonderful personality, and obviously loves what he does - which makes for an awesome final product. He was there with us from start to finish and got a BUNCH of great shots. We've gotten so many compliments and we're in love with our album! He's also great with returning emails quickly and answering any questions you have (a HUGE plus in my book!). I read that the top two things people wish they put more of there budget toward after the wedding day was the photographer and the DJ. People want a great party and picture to remember how great there day was.
Julian did my engagement photos and my wedding photos on Oct. 23, 2010. He is the only vendor I felt 100% confident in. He is very professional, and takes the time to get to know the bride and groom and their families. During the family and wedding party shoots, he was calling people by name! He scopes out the area days in advance to better maximize our time on the wedding day. Not to mention, he delivers excellent quality pictures. He has a vision and a knack for capturing absolutely stunning photos. His creativity painted timeless memories of our wedding. Both my husband and I couldn't have been happier with the product he provided. He is worth every penny. I am glad that when it came down to budget over quality, I thought of the top things wedding couples wish they have spent more on and I chose quality. It was the best decision we made.

My husband and I found Julian's website one evening and were blown away with his images. My wife and I hired Julian to be our photographer and we were very pleased with his work. My husband and I just got our pictures back from Julian (in less then a week from the wedding! WOW!) and we are extremely impressed. Out of all the vendors we worked with, Julian was the most responsive, creative and personable. My husband and I really are happy with our wedding and engagement photos. Julian is professional and really cares about your entire event. Julian Allen is by far the best photographer out there. He has an eye for pictures before the actual shot. He doesn't take the "typical" photos straight on, but they are typical pictures with a twist. During our engagement photo shoot he was laying on the ground taking a ton of angled pictures and even got his shirt muddy. Julian takes the time to get to you know as a couple and wants to know EVERY detail about your relationship. The entire week prior to the wedding he goes around to every location you would like for pictures for the wedding day. By far, Julian is the best!!!!

I started searching for a photographer about a month after getting engaged. Long nights sitting in front of the computer looking at tons of photo galleries and not finding a single one that really took my breath away. Then late one night, I stumbled upon Julian's site. As I sat and watched his slide shows, I laughed, I cried, and was just completely blown away by the stories of his work.

I immediately called Jullian and was thrilled to find out that he was available for our date. We met with him and he asked us tons of questions about our lives, how we met, who our families and friends are, what we love about each other and so much more. On our wedding day, he took that information and turned it into a beautiful story full of love and happiness.

As a photographer, Julian has unmatched passion for his genre. He makes every effort to be prepared to the point that he knew where the best light would be at what time of day, he had ladders hidden around the venue to ensure the best angle, he laid in the weeds, he got into a pond, and he even brought some simple yet very creative props to make sure our pictures were not only very beautiful, but also very engaging. His editing skils are phenomenal, the richness and quality of the photos are so good, Julian's work is outstanding.

Photography is a very important component to any wedding. Photographs have the ability to capture everyone and every moment and from most any angle. It is something that I would not recommend being a cheapskate about. My wife Hayley and I researched dozens of Columbus area wedding photography websites looking for premier quality shots and then we met with 5-8 of the best, most creative, and most $$$. We were sure to stick only to photographers with the best images. In this group there were a few people who were a little less expensive. After meeting with all of these people we kept coming back to one brilliant photographer who, for the quality, seemed very reasonable priced.

Everyone including our wedding guests is very happy to say that we selected Julian Allen. He has a very true and creative vision which Hayley and I decided could not be matched or replaced.

Around Christmas-time, Hayley and I had a very full schedule but we really wanted to have engagement shots taken by Julian. So, within a day or two of Christmas, Julian shot our engagement shots at Ohio Stadium (Go Bucks!). His intensity and compassion on such a cold day were both really amazing. We had a great time getting our photographs taken, but part of the fun was getting to know a little bit about Julian.

On our wedding day, he utilized space and time like no other. He took the time to discover all of the beautiful textures and spaces that would accompany the shoot before-hand. Then, with the play-list for the shoot on his forearm, he marched the bridal party through his world for a little while. Julian came prepared to do some heavy sweating as he flew around orchestrating shots like a madman. He was willing to lie on the ground, crouch in a corner, and, at one point, expose his camera to the elements just to finish amazing shots with an umbrella, or “brolly” as he calls it. Nothing will replace the experience of having Julian Allen’s expertise and work ethic on the day of your wedding.

For a few extra $$$ he guaranteed that he would provide us with as many shots as some of the other professional photographer’s we met with to do our wedding in Columbus. We paid the extra $$$ and it was well worth it. Julian Allen’s quality is a step or two above, and his price is a step or two below, the average Columbus area photographer.

Julian Allen is the most amazing photographer ever! He will capture images that you never thought possible. He will do whatever it takes to get that prize winning shot. He is also hilarious! If you want a fun day and amazing pictures call Julian Allen!

When I first contacted Julian and we arranged our first meeting, he asked questions about myself and my fiance, and wanted to get to know us, our relationship, and our unique style -- which told me that he was a professional who was truly vested in his job as a (wedding) photographer, and that he also was very much an artist. After our meeting, after browsing on his website, I was amazed at the quality of his work and his photojournalistic style.

Although I was on a very limited budget, photography was not an area in which I was willing to cut on quality or style. With Julian Allen I was able to get an extremely high quality product at an amazing price! We were also given the option to purchase all of our edited photos electronically for a flat out price, versus having to purchase them from his gallery, which also worked well for our budget. Our price also included an engagement photo session -- which was SO much fun, and really captured us as a couple!

During the wedding and reception, and afterward I received many positive compliments on Julian from friends and family, who were so impressed (as are my husband and I) on how hard he works and how seriously he takes his job! Given this, he was also a lot of fun to work with, was very patient with us and our friends and family, and everyone felt very comfortable with him. I highly recommend Julian Allen for your wedding and engagement photography!

What was your favorite wedding photo?

Hard to say, but the one with my blind, 92 year old grandmother holding both of our rings in her hand is a hard one to beat. Great idea and a real keepsake! Listen, I am sure Julian can do a boring portrait grouping of pictures like your parents had in the 70's and 80's--you know, the ones that have one side of the family, then the other side, then the groomsmen, then the bridal party--all standing staggered and awkwardly, but WHY THE HECK would you want that when you can have the same shots with an artful eye? One that shows a true zest for life and really shows off the love of the day.

How did the wedding photographer avoid disrupting the day? Great with candids? Action shots? Portraits?

Wow, Julian not only didn't disrupt anything, but was able to blend in, disappear and become part of the party when asked to. We had a nice intimate wedding and we couldn't have asked for someone more fun, personable, courteous and clever. His shots included action and phenomenal candid's. We did not video tape our wedding, and with Julian's eye, we don't regret it for a second. Amazing.

What was included in your wedding photo package? Albums? DVDs? Engagement pics? Two photographers?

Can I cop-out and say that my wife handled this? No clue, but the results were amazing, so much so that my wife's best friend also used Julian for her wedding (much larger) and he did yet another masterful job!

How did the photographer make you and family comfortable?

HA! If Julian didn't have his own family and great dog, we'd adopt him! Really, a great guy, a great dad, a lover of animal who just happens to be the most skilled and down to earth photographer you will ever find. If he has your date open, just hire him!

Julian was absolutely fantastic from day one. During our first conversation over the phone, we talked at length about my wedding vision, my design aesthetics, my fiance and my family. He met with us to discuss locations, images and finishes. He's friendly, attentive and so much fun to work with. We have had an overall amazing experience with Julian from Day 1! He was so flexible and willing to hold evening meetings with us to discuss what we wanted for the special day. He went out of his way to get to know Tyler and I, our families, friends, our story. He really wanted to know who everyone was the day of the wedding and what their relationship to us was. Because our wedding was an hour outside the Columbus area, Julian took the initiative to spend some time in Marion the week of the wedding, getting to know the area and seeking out potential scenic shots for the big day. His extensive preparation made everything run so smoothly the day of the wedding. He "took charge" during our limited afternoon time to capture great shots, and he really made the best use of the time by planning it all out in advance!! We were so happily distracted that day that the afternoon photography time would have been completely wasted if we had to suggest places to go for pictures. Luckily he knew where he wanted us and how to get there, so we didn't have to think at all! It was incredible. We were just along for the ride : ) I also had gone through his site prior to the wedding and selected a lot of shots that I was hoping he could recreate for us. He knew every single one of those shots that I had mentioned and made sure that he captured them the day of the wedding. Not only are his pictures beautiful, but he is also such a pleasure to have around on such a busy and monumental occasion. All of our family and friends loved him and commented on how he was everywhere all the time snapping pictures--catching everything! His photos AND his personality won it for me. We also couldn't beat his price for the amount of product we received. Thank you Julian for such a special day and for such timeless photographs to help us remember it!!

As a photographer, I value beautiful images. Our wedding photos are something we will forever cherish and pass on for generations. They tell a story about who we are and why we love. When my husband showed me Julian’s website, I was impressed. But I needed more. I know that great photography is more than a fancy camera and a good eye; it’s about the personality behind the camera. I needed to meet Julian in person. As soon as we met, I knew he was our photographer. Julian is professional, passionate, creative, and personable. He took time to remember the names of our family members and wedding party, calling each person by name during the shoot. He made everyone feel comfortable and at ease. He only commits to one wedding per week, devoting lots of time to prepare and plan for that wedding. Julian does his research. Prior to the wedding, he visited each location in advance to pre-plan shots and become familiar with the location and lighting. He arrived early for everything and remained observant throughout the day and night, never missing a shot. His post-production of our images were almost immediate. He had our online gallery posted and ready for viewing only three days after our wedding! My only complaint is the number of photos included in the base price. I wish we were able to choose more photos for our photo book. Julian was very flexible and responsive. He quickly returned every email and phone call. I highly recommend Julian Allen as your wedding photographer. He is passionate about your wedding and wants to create beautiful and artistic memories of your special day.

Julian has a great eye for beautiful pictures and he is fun to work with. He was quick to respond to communications during the planning process. He is a solo photographer, but he referred another great photographer (see below) when we wanted two photographers for the day. The two worked great together. Julian takes a number of days visiting the various sites of the day and planning the majority of pictures ahead of time. This makes for a very efficient day and a great variety of pictures. Julian edited our pictures and had them on his website to view and purchase the Wednesday following our Saturday wedding. We also purchased the rights to our pictures as well as the unedited pictures (which was not included in the package) and he sent them on a thumb drive a few days later. The pictures turned out great. I only wished we had more edited pictures. Nevertheless, even the unedited pictures look good. He is very professional and I would recommend him to anyone

Julian was the photographer for our wedding. He dedicated the entire week to our wedding which really shows in all the pictures. He is so creative and his shots were so unique. He found these AMAZING spots that made for beautiful pictures. He had the pictures up on-line days following the wedding. I showed some family and friends some pictures and everyone had amazing things to say about the photographs. We heard over and over how they are the BEST wedding pictures they have ever seen! Julian beautifully illustrated from beginning to end all the storybook moments of that joyous day- with one exception. He somehow deleted/lost the photo of us (bride and groom) with the groom's family. We had specifically asked to make sure we got photos w/ us and both sets of families at the alter of the church, as that was super important to us. We all posed for the photo and he took a few, however he did not have them in the end. And now we will never have this special moment captured forever for us or the groom's family. So although we have many exceptional photos of us throughout the day, we are missing that one, very special shot which has us all disappointed. We were also disappointed in the way Julian handled the matter after the fact. So a word of caution- there is no doubt that Julian takes amazing photos, just be sure he backs up that special moment so this does not happen to you.

Mr. Julian Allen managed to delete my family group wedding photos during the editing process. This was 100% preventable but he was grossly negligent and failed to take the proper precautions. Photo deletion is the hallmark of an amateur not a professional to be sure. The most important day of my life will be tainted forever. Don’t let this happen to you. Read on.

Thousands of dollars were spent on our wedding, intense preparation was undertaken, and all of our loved ones in our presence. Most photographers out there could at least get the basic pictures of a wedding but Mr. Allen failed in a monumental way. His response to me and I quote: “I don't guarantee individual shots as things can happen and I make note of that in the contract.” This was no average individual shot: it was THE family photo for my side. This implies Julian will take your hard earned money and conveniently relieves himself 100% of his fiduciary duty. In addition, his contract is tailored for his protection – the payment of money from you to him regardless of his quality of service - not yours. He didn’t even have the courtesy to call or email me when it happened. I only learned of it myself nearly 6 weeks after the fact.

Mr. Allen had the nerve to offer us $20 off (we paid in full a $2,000 base fee and $800 for additional pics on a flash drive) of a picture purchase for his error. Trying to settle his error with a $20 coupon is insulting, laughable, and pathetic. $20 is tip money not compensation for deleting an invaluable family photo. Is this the character of a guy you want capturing your once in a lifetime wedding? Our payment of $2,800 to Mr. Allen, of course, came before he acknowledged to me of his grave mistake. His customer service skills, integrity, and fairness are severely lacking. Your wedding day will go extremely fast and all you will have left of some very special once in a lifetime moments are your photos.

My humble advice: Look over your contract very carefully and read every line; ask your photographer if he/she has ever deleted any photos and how did they compensate; ask how and when do they back up their memory cards from their camera after a shoot (backing them up on a $0.50 DVD is the very best); have they ever used recover software in the event a photo is deleted or have ever heard of it. Are they using a Canon or Nikon and how old is it? One or two years will make a huge difference in quality. Nikons are the best but Julian uses a Canon. It is possible to get every picture your photographer snaps for a price much less than we paid – see Rick Buchanan photography (I don’t endorse Rick since I never used him – I just like the idea of getting every picture for $1,595. In the digital age, photographers must be computer savvy as well as camera savvy. Those that are illiterate on the computer side should be avoided at all cost.

With the technological advances in cameras over the last 10 years, most people who are marginally skilled can snap off great pictures. But it takes skill in how you handle those data files afterwards and most important how you treat and service your customers in the event disaster strikes. When faced with adversity, you really see the true colors of any man or women. Mr. Allen certainly showed his repulsive behavior to me. I’m appalled and left bearing the cost of his gross negligence.

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding and I’m so happy for you. Marriage is truly a wonderful experience. Just be sure to choose a photographer that will treat you will fairness, respect, and compassion before, during, and after your most wonderful day is over.
