J. Wrobel has the ability to understand the exact look you desire, and then create floral works of art to match your vision. Her arrangements are lush and truly complement the natural beauty of each bloom. I was absolutely blown away by the gorgeous use of color in the flowers she used in our ceremony urns and the obvious care that was taken to assemble the visual masterpieces that were our reception centerpieces. And when I saw my bridal bouquet I was actually moved by the beauty and scent of the flowers! Jess has an eye for detail and you can trust her to create arrangemets that are timeless enhancements to your wedding. Before the wedding I hadn't planned to preserve any flowers from my bouquet, but today (3 days later) I arranged to have several lovely blooms preserved because I just can't fathom letting them disappear forever!
I chose Jess as our florist for two reasons-- she was on the recommended vendors list for our venue (The Crane Estate in Ipswich, MA) and because she had incredible skill in envisioning and creating beautiful and UNIQUE arrangements. She had done weddings at our venue before, and she was very knowledgable of what sorts of accents and decorations would work well beyond simply table arrangement and bridesmaids' bouquets.
It's important for me to note that I did not tell Jess exactly what we wanted. Rather, I described a variety of things that looked nice to me, what sort of textures and basic colors and styles I liked, and let her choose the rest. I could tell very early on that Jess was a true expert, and I figured it was her job and not mine to know what flowers in what colors would work best-- that's where her talent lies, and I'm not a florist for a reason, haha! So I let her pick the exact flowers, colors and arrangements based on basically what sorts of things I liked. I had no idea what the flowers would actually look like until the day of the wedding, but when they arrived they were PERFECT-- different, textured, layered, and all varied (I wanted each table arrangement, bridesmaid's bouquet, and boutonniere to be slightly different from the others). My bouquet was gorgeous and held up beautifully even without paying for preservation services after the wedding-- it's in fabulous condition dried and sits in a low vase on my dining room table.
Jess was very accessible-- I drove out to meet with her three times, at least, and when I inevitably got lost she was kind enough to give me directions over the phone... twice. She was very passionate and excited about the ideas that I had, which made me feel really good about knowing I could just turn it over to her and it would turn out fabulous.
The only minor problem we had-- the vases on the tables ran out of water quickly. Jess says this was due to the wind (and of course, we were by the ocean, which makes a windy day twice as bad) so some of the flowers were a bit wilted by the end of the night. I'd just keep an eye on that, no matter what florist you use.
Her prices are a *bit* on the higher end, but you're paying for quality. I've been to weddings where the florist wasn't high up on the list in terms of prioritizing funds, and it really shows. I've had guests come up to me even now, almost 6 months later, to comment on how beautiful the wedding was, and they always highlight the unique and elegant centerpiece flowers :) It's worth it, and if you're on the fence about the cost then talk to her... you're better off minimizing the number of floral arrangements but having well-crafted ones than you are paying for essentially grocery-store flowers and having lots of them all over. It really makes a difference. When looking at what I paid for her services, I want to highlight that my costs are VERY high due to having three flower girls, eight bridesmaids, eight groomsmen, plus flowers for my mom and aunt, a chuppah, and a bunch of decorative vines and floral arrangements around.
All in all, Jess was fantastic and I recommend her to anyone :)
The flowers were beautiful. I'm not a big flower person so I went in with some things I hate and colors I like and she did the rest.
It was so easy to work with Jessica for our wedding flowers. I had a fairly particular idea for my bouquet and she managed to reproduce it even better than my inspiration photo. I gave her a lot of freedom with the design of the rest of my flowers and decor and was so thrilled to see the gorgeous end result on our wedding day! She was fabulous to work with and the flowers were just beautiful!
Jess Wrobel is amazing. I had the most gorgeous flowers ever - it's a good thing she delivered them before I had my makeup done as I cried like a baby when they arrived! She was fabulous about the little extras too - a tea rose bouttoniere for my 6 month old nephew, rose petal cones for when we left the church, etc. She even brought our ceremony flowers to the reception site for us. Spectacular.
