My wedding was far from a typical event. We went all out and not one thing was overlooked. My amazing husband allowed me to have anything I wanted. The one thing that meant so much to me was how I would look after a long year of planning. I did my research and let me tell you... When it came to hair and make-up... I hit the jack pot with Karen Hall & Co. My trial run was such a blast. Karen and Dani made me feel so at easy and going to their studio downtown Indy was fun. What an amazing building and the welcome Karen gave me, well I felt as if I met my match. There's nothing you don't love about her. Karen was so great keeping in touch with me as my big day came closer. The day of the wedding was... OMG. She had two of her make up artist come to my hotel suite at the Hilton to doll up many of my 9 bridesmaids. As time was passing, the four stretch limos arrived to take us to the church where to amazing people waited for me. Karen and Dani were in the brides parlor all ready to make their magic happen. Karen transformed this girl next door look into a work of art. I was her canvas and she brought me to life. Dani added her spice to give my long brown hair a flare with many ahhh's and oohh's. my hair and make-up lasted well into the early hours of the next day. I can not tell my friends and family how awesome Karen Hall & Co. are. I would of paid double the price.. I had a horrible experience with this vendor. I'm a very low maintenance bride, but this was the only time I cried on my wedding day. They shifted my hair and makeup time by an hour "to make sure they could finish everybody" by 11 AM. My sisters were jet lagged and had to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to get their hair and makeup done. They created a hair and makeup schedule for 9 people in my bridal party, but then did not follow the schedule at all, and finished all of us 2 hours early. I later discovered they had a second wedding to go to, so one by one all the stylists left my suite and not only was I abandoned on my wedding day, with everyone done with their makeup at 9 AM for a 4:30 PM wedding, but I didn't even like my makeup! Karen was defensive and reluctant to change my makeup, despite everyone's agreement that I was washed out. In addition, I had paid a significant sum for my photographer and cinematographer, who had planned to take "getting ready" shots at 10 AM. So my hair and makeup were COMPLETED before they even arrived. I was extremely upset because I was lied to about why the time was changed for earlier. No one communicated any change in the schedule, and I was made to feel insignificant on the most important day of my life.

The saving grace from this group is Dani, who is absolutely awesome with hair, and had to fix some of the other hair stylist's work. My mother-in-law wanted a simple bob and the hair stylist kept curling it for hours until it was all warped. Lauren was the only makeup artist who did a decent job. One of the other girls made my bridesmaid look like a vampire. My sister-in-law is a makeup artist, so she was absolutely horrified to see what was going on. My makeup was cakey, my fake eyelashes weren't glued or trimmed properly and were going in different directions than my natural eyelashes. DO NOT USE KAREN HALL. Find Dani to do your hair!!! She has her own salon, I forgot what it's called.

I hired Karen to do hair and makeup for my wedding, since I was planning the wedding from out-of-state, I had only her website to go on. She seemed very professional, and I had every reason to trust her from the image that she puts forth.

WAS I WRONG! She was one hour and 45 minutes late for my appointment on my WEDDING DAY and gave no excuse for it. Her hair person, whom she works with, was 20 minutes behind her! She completely screwed up the schedule for my wedding day, and because of her, I had no time to take pictures with my bridal party! I barely made the ceremony time, we were literally running to the ceremony at the absolute last minute!

Why she had no backup plan for emergencies when she is in the wedding business is beyond me. All I know is this woman practically ruined my wedding day and has not tried to make any amends for it.

Don't make the same mistake. She is untrustworthy.

Karen Hall is the most highly recommended make up artist in the city. However, you have to put up with a lot of hassle for the cost. In retrospective, I feel that paying for Karen is like paying for a Nike product - most of your cost is in the name, but the service is just like any other company.

Karen Hall will likely NOT do your makeup. She oversees for the most part, so you end up paying this extreme cost and getting your hair and makeup done by someone who is less experienced. For instance, my makeup artist was still in training, and the hair stylists was simply a girl from a local salon.

Not a super professional company. Karen called me incessantly until I signed and paid. Then I never heard from her to the point where my photographer (who recommended her) had to vouch for me to get a trial scheduled.

ADVICE FOR ALL BRIDES:
No matter who you choose, take pictures of what you want on your wedding day
I brought pictures of what I wanted to the trial, like all the magazines tell you to, and the work came out beautifully. I didn't for my wedding because that is what the trial is for, right? Not only did both artists forget what they did, but the work came out horribly. My hair looks so bad I have a tough time looking at photos from the wedding day.

This experience also makes you wonder if a trial is really necessary. If you need to cut costs, my experience would indicate that you could cut the trial and, as long as you have photos, you don't lose anything.

I choose Karen because she would provide hair and makeup on location. I am just sad that it didn't turn out well, and that she was so hard to work with. In hind site, if I could have found another company, I would have used them instead.

Karen Hall & Co. was wonderful to work with!! Karen did my make-up for the wedding and she hit it out of the park! I don't usually wear much make-up, but I was loving the look she gave me.

If you are looking for one stop shopping, this is it!! I love the fact that Karen Hall & Co. does hair and make-up. They came to our hotel and did both for my bridesmaids. All of the girls loved their hairstyles!!

Karen and her assistants were amazing! They came to our hotel to do makeup and hair for the wedding, which worked out great. Highly recommend going with Karen Hall and Co. for hair and makeup--you will not be disappointed!

Karen was AWESOME! She did a beautiful job on my make-up and my skin looked completely flawless! She was so sweet and really fun!

My hairdresser canceled a month and a half before the wedding so I had to scramble to find someone new. Because I was getting married on an off day Karen and Co. were able to fit us in. I am so glad they did! My hair was exactly what I wanted and my bridesmaids loved theirs. One bridesmaid has super thick hair that will not curl, and the other has super curly hair that will not straighten--and she did great with both. Dannie was a pleasure to work with! Karen did not come on site--but was responsive, stuck to original quotes and very easy to work with!

All the girls in the wedding party looked fantastic with both their hair and make-up! Karen was even able to come back just before the ceremony and give everyone touch-ups. Great vendor to work with!

I loved working with Karen. She was easy to work with and I loved that her company does both hair and makeup and travels to where you are. I found it difficult to find any other companies that did all of those things. I was very, very happy with how she did my make-up and how her employee did my hair. I didn't want to spend the money to do a trial so I did take a risk but Karen gave me confidence that it would all turn out well on the wedding day without trials and it absolutely did. I have received countless compliments on both my hair and my make-up both on my wedding day and when people look at our wedding pictures. I think the money I spent on my hair and make-up was worth every single penny. I would highly recommend Karen Hall and Co to any bride!

The moment I was in their hands, I felt pampered and beautiful. I have short (SHORT!) hair and Dani was able to make the best pin-up like hair style! I still get comments on it! Karen did my make up and I felt like a movie star.

I really enjoyed working with Karen Hall & Co. I had a consultation with Karen and the hair and make-up artists that would be working on me. They were great. I had a good time and they gave me an original hair style, I didn't just point to one out of a book. They also took my colors and dress design into consideration. My husband loved it. They came out to my house and worked on me as well as my 5 bridesmaids and 2 mothers. It made our day so much easier to not have to travel out to a salon.

Karen Hall & Company provides excellent on site hair & make-up services to all of their clients. I not only refer them to all of my clients but I also used them for my wedding and they did a fabulous job! Karen & her staff use the new airbrush foundation which is the most flawless looking foundation available on the market...it really does make a huge difference in the quality of your wedding photos and how you look and feel on your wedding day. They are worth every penny and then some! :)
