Karine Brighten Events

Karine was a fantastic month-of planner for my wedding in Berkeley in October 2010. She was easy going, organized, listened, and helped us deal with some very difficult vendors. I was able to hand over all of the work my husband and I had done, and I felt totally confident that she would be in control of all of the last minute details and everything on the big day. It was such a huge relief!

She was extremely accessible via email and phone, and she met with my husband and I in-person twice before the wedding. One of these meetings included a visit to our venue with our photographer, which was very helpful. She prompted us to think about details that we had forgotten to consider, such as making sure we had a microphone for the ceremony, and the result was a lovely, well-organized event enjoyed by everyone in attendance.

I also liked Karine's commitment to green business and her commitment to fairness. Her commitment is such that she only works with clients who already have a commitment to green: vegetarian/vegan menu, locally-sourced goods and services, low travel requirements, etc.
Although we only worked with Karine during the month prior to our wedding, we would have benefited from her judgment during the early planning process, since she would have been a great advisor on what to include and what to cut and how to achieve goals with low impact and at low cost.

Moreover, because the commitment to sustainability and lowering impact is already laid out, that actually allows Karine to charge according to the services she'll be providing. Karine's pricing structure made it so that we could actually afford the other services that were most important to us (and minimize spend and focus on the services that were not a priority).

My husband and I are tremendously grateful to Karine. We had a fabulous, fun wedding and of which we were truly proud. Karine not only helped us make our wedding day everything we dreamed it could be, but made sure we were able to relax and focus on the important stuff!
