I saw the dress of my dreams in a magazine and the only place within 15 miles that carried it was Karoza. They are only semi-helpful on the phone, but they did a great job with getting the dress in quickly and doing fantastic alterations. Also, I paid less for the dress than I expected.

I walked in with 2 random pictures and she had both dresses! They are so professional and make you feel like a princess and the price is unreal!!!!

So here goes....I purchased my wedding gown from Karoza Design earlier this year. They have an awesome selection of gowns at great prices. My problem is not with the dress purchasing aspect but the alterations. When my gown came in I was told to return 2-3 weeks before the wedding (I thought they would need more time - but they're the experts). At this time I asked about alteration prices and was told they would not exceed $300 (steep but I was willing to pay that amount). I called 3 weeks prior to the wedding and at this time I was told to come in 1-2 weeks before my wedding date....I decided to play it safe and go in 2 weeks before. So, here we are 2 weeks prior to my big day and I have a load of things to get done....I get fitted and I am told the final price which is due IN FULL. The amount is nearly double the amount I was told before. I was very upset and definitely voiced my opinion only to hear "you can take your dress somewhere else"! I was in shock...I did tell the seamstress that I was previously told that the alteration prices would not exceed $300 and she giggled and said "well, that is impossible, she is not the seamstress and she doesn't know the prices". 2 weeks prior to the wedding with a holiday in the mix....I feel as if I have no choice. I decide to get the alteration work done at Karoza but I would not recommend anyone to get this service done here! Look ELSEWHERE!!! The dress did fit well but the bustle was a little uneven and I did not notice it until I saw the pictures not a huge deal but with the steep price I paid I would have expected perfection. Other than that the dress fit like a glove. Do yourself a favor and search for an alternative place to get your alteration work done. They will quote one price but 2 weeks prior they hit you with a huge amount.Good Luck

I researched practically every wedding dress designer's website prior to beginning the process of trying them on. I had a very concise idea of what I wanted. Then began the store visits... at least 5 different stores in greater Los Angeles, including Saks Fifth Ave, Wilshire Bridal, Alfred Angelo, and Panache. While many of the dresses on my need-to-try-on lists were in those stores, I wasn't finding the perfect match. Despite some dodgy reviews, my mom and I ventured up to Karoza simply because of the large selection, and they also carry Casablanca, which I'd decided was likely going to be the designer of my dress, since I liked so much of their work.Karoza is a small store with a massive selection. Their dresses are covered my clear vinyl bags and shoved in to tiny walk-in closests separated by designer. This helps to find particular style #'s quickly, but is tough for the customer because you're literally squeezing in between giant bags, creating static electricity in the process. I'd imagine if you didn't know what style you wanted, it could be a frustrating place to dress shop. Our saleswoman was very sweet and kind, although her English was very limited. Despite a few communication struggles, she worked very hard to help me in and out of many dresses in their spacious dressing rooms. Lo and behold, after listening to my likes and dislikes, her eyes lit up and she left the room for a moment, only to return with a beautiful Casablanca dress and said, "why don't you try this one!" Well, this one was THE one and I couldn't believe that I had overlooked it when browsing the racks (but then again, they are so jam-packed that it's easy to miss some great dresses). After sleeping on it, we came back the next day and purchased the dress, and a stunning Edward Berger cathedral length mantilla. Before my order came in (which took almost 6 months, despite and estimate of 3, so give yourself TIME!) I returned to Karoza several times to look at accessories, jewelry, and bridesmaid dresses, probably 3 additional visits in a 6 month time frame. My last two visits I was met with a very different attitude than before. I could only conclude that they'd forgotten that I was one of their brides, because I was met with hostility and annoyance by one of the younger saleswomen in particular. Since Karoza refused to allow me to order a swatch of my gown material (a mystery to this day), and Karoza is the only store in the city to carry my dress in the appropriate shade (champagne) I politely asked to see the floor model on those subsequent visits to compare potential bridesmaid dress colors, etc. This woman in particular would roll her eyes at me, huff and puff that I "was back again" (I'm sorry, 3 times in 6 months? Is that really offensive?) and made me feel like an inconvenience, even when the store was virtually empty of customers. She couldn't have cared less that I'd purchased a dress and veil from the store already. I felt unwelcome. This is not the treatment a bride deserves from a store she's purchased her dress and veil from. Needless to say I decided to get my bridesmaid dresses somewhere else. The staff is hit or miss at Karoza. Because the tailors do not speak any English, and I was having major alterations made to my dress, necessitating clear communication, I decided to take it elsewhere. If you know exactly what you want, this store is worth giving a shot because the selection cannot be beat. If you are looking for champagne toasts, enthusiastic staff, and warm environment, this is not your place.

I purchased my wedding dress here. The dress turned out well, and I have no major complaints. My only minor complaint is that sometimes they appeared unprofessional. They certainly seemed to favor a certain type of clientele, and definitely seemed to place others lower on their priority list. Also sometimes hard to understand her, though she tried. Unfortunately I'd have to ask her to repeat herself several times on the phone, and I think she got a little frustrated when this happened, but honestly I did have a hard time understanding everything. Overall though, the dress was beautiful, came on time, and looked fantastic the day of.

I found my beautiful dress at Karoza because they just have a TON of dresses there!!! It was very reasonably priced and the overall experience was nice because they have large rooms with tons of mirrors. The only drawback of that large room is that you have to have your family/maids sitting outside to see you in your dress...but that's not that big of a deal in the big picture. Arsi, the girl that was helping me was friendly, honest and worked her butt off. This is a family owned store and you can tell... As for the alterations...I am a clothing designer so I was very picky about the fit and what I wanted. We went over the alterations with the lady and she was very nice and made it seem like she knew exactly what I wanted. When I came to pick up the dress...they were going to hand it to me to go home. However, I insisted on trying it on a final time and I am glad I did because she had forgotten 3 main alterations that we had discussed. I told her I wasn't leaving until those things were taken care of and she made sure that it was correct. It took an extra few hours, but she did fix it and made sure I was perfectly happy. It fit like a Gorgeous glove and I couldn't be happier with my dress. I know that most people aren't as aggressive as I am about making sure it's perfect...but if you are going to do your alterations at this store...DO NOT LEAVE until it's perfect. They definitely want you to leave happy, so they will go out of their way to fix it. As long as you are not a prima donna bride that wants the "Princess" or Beverly Hills experience, Karoza is the way to go. The prices were totally reasonable and better for the same dress than 4 other salons I looked into.I never experienced them being rude or anything like that...they were very pleasant and the owner Roza, gave my mom a great deal on a necklace and earring set for the wedding.I LOVE my dress, the veil and the way it all fit. I also got a second short dress here and she made some minor alterations...and the dress was adorable.I would recommend this shop to other brides!

I would like to bring the attention of PUCHCI designer, I was in an Armenian Wedding, a girl was wearing your copy, she told me that she bought it from KAROZA’S DESIGNER in Glendale, and the owner KARO who made it for her, this guy is copying PUCHCI’S design which I know very well its illegal act, I wish if those people who give him their gown come and check his store or at least read the comments

I would agree with other posters. Their prices are better than most bridal salons, but if you have alterations, I would take them elsewhere. Shortly before my ceremony, I found that there were needles holding up some parts of my skirt. I guess they had forgotten to actually sew the dress and instead held it up with pins. Once my bridesmaids took out the pins, the dress fell to the floor. The whole time I was walking up the aisle with my father, all I could think about was not falling. Not exactly how I pictured that moment and I feel like they completely ruined it. Also, because the alteration was not done correctly, I fell during our choreographed first dance. So, if you do decide to get your dress here, take it elsewhere for alterations.

This venue has a lot of selections of dresses which is ultimately where I found the dress that I fell in love with...however, the customer service is lacking at this venue. The girls that assisted us were not very helpful or accommodating. At times, they were almost rude. When I decided to go elsewhere for my alterations, the seamstress was rude and was quick to get us out of there. Selection and price is reasonable but they really need to work on their people skills!

Good selection....GREAT prices!

Ok I'm getting very nervous...
I went here after having a bad experience at La Soie in Torrance... and was actually pleased with the service. Everyone was very polite and spent their time with me. I tried on a dress I had seen in a magazine and bought it without thinking. As I was signing the papers I realized I could be making a big mistake...
When I got home, I read all these negative reviews... and all about how they scam brides into believing they are ordering a designer gown, when really they are just ordering the STYLE of the gown (which these people make there in Glendale...then sew designer tags on). I'M FREAKING OUT NOW because I already paid and I simply don't have money for another dress.
I'm so disappointed with how irresponsible I was. Please do not make the same mistake.

Where can I begin. Well first of all the owner at Karoza Design is extremely RUDE! The moment I walked in I was completly ignored. I was about to leave when a young lady finaly noticed me. These people seem to be very racist. I say this because after trying to get their attention I saw that they where only helping people with their same ethnicity. People kept walking in the store and they would help them. NOt me. I felt very upset. There gown selection is very nice.

Ok so if you want champagne and strawberries not the place to go if you want a great deal its the place to go. They have the biggest selection ever I mean they have dresses that start from $500-$20000. I went in there knowing what I wanted I gave them a price range and they showed me dresses under my budget they were great. Honestly I would recommend this place to any bride.

I got my gown at Karoza because it was so much cheaper than the other bridal store that I went to. I suggest trying on dresses at other bridal boutique then call Karoza and see if they have the same dress. Chances are, they'll have it and it'll cost less. If you do go to Karoza to try on dresses, be sure to bring a picture of the one you want to try on. You don't need an appointment to try on dresses. When you walk in, the person at the front tells you to check out what they have which is a bit overwhelming because they have A LOT of dresses which are all in garment bags. I'd say 98% of the dresses they have are all sample sizes (meaning a size 10 in wedding dress size) so if you're bigger than a size 10 like me, there's not a lot of dresses you can try on - another reason why you should do it else where. I was not happy with the alterations. There were a few loose threads on my dress that I had to tighten up when I got home. Too bad I didn't discover it before I left the store. If possible, try to pick up your dress and bring it elsewhere to get it altered.

THEY HAVE ALMOST ALL THE DESIGNERS A HUGE SELECTION OF DRESSES. I RECENTLY WENT TO TRY ON SOME DRESSES WITHOUT MAKING AN APPOINTMENT AND THEY REALLY TOOK CARE OF ME. THEY SHOWED ME 5-6 DIFFERENT DRESSES AND SHE REALLY GAVE ME HER HONEST OPINION. MY SISTER IN LAW BOUGHT HER DRESS FROM THERE AND THEY HAD EVERYTHING READY RIGHT ON TIME AND THEIR ALTERATIONS WERE WONDERFUL.

I found this store while I was surfing the computer, I was looking for a gown and I find it the seamstress was nice with me she helped me wearing and fitting my gown, I really recommend brides to visit this store.

I had to tell these people that I had an appointment for them to even stop and take notice. Even after, their customer service was awful and discouraged me from staying longer to look at more dresses after not liking any of the dresses I had tried on. I tried to be friendly and they made me feel as if I was a hassle. :(

I saw only bad reviews for this store online, but I went because they had all the designers I liked. I had a wonderful experience there. I found my dress the first time I went but did not feel pressured to buy right then. I was even told to look around at other stores. I did and even found my dress at another store. The service was so nice at Karoza that I went back and bought my dress there.

Pros: A huge selection
Cons: Shoddy service
I went to Karoza twice simply because it's close by, once to look for my wedding dress, and once to search for bridesmaid dresses. The first time, I arrived to find that they had lost my appointment. Since they weren't too busy, though, they accommodated me. My consultant - I don't remember her name - was young and impatient. Every time I asked to try on a dress, she sighed a little and looked annoyed. She insisted on going into the dressing room with me (I realize this is common store policy everywhere, but it's really annoying nonetheless), let me look at myself in the mirror for a couple seconds for each dress, then immediately pulled them off. I can't remember how anything I tried looked on me (no pictures either, of course - another common stupid rule that I hate). She half-heartedly opened the door (sometimes when I wasn't fully dressed...) so my sister outside could see and closed it while we were mid-conversation. My appointment was for an hour (I think), but she hustled us out after 40 minutes, and I didn't argue because she made me feel like I was being such a huge burden.
The next time my friend and I went to try bridesmaid dresses, they ignored us for 45 minutes (even though I had called ahead and was reassured that I didn't need to make an appointment). A nicer older lady told us that we could use a changing room that would be free in 5 minutes, but it didn't happen, and she never appeared again. We were forced to pull aside one of the younger ladies and inquire several times, and she seemed annoyed and impatient that she was forced to even look at us. Finally, 15 minutes before closing time, they allowed us to use one of the freed up rooms. We barely got to put on a few dresses before they were knocking loudly on our door, telling us to get out.
Now I don't expect to be waited on hand and foot, and I know these are people who have lives and want to go home, but you can't expect me to want to buy anything when all I get is the vibe that you want me to get the hell out. Altogether, it wasn't a horrible outright experience, but it was enough to leave me annoyed, and the three stars I'm giving mostly reflect their good selection of dresses.

I tried on "Biora" by Enzoani Blue at this shop. I had tried it on at the Wedding Day Shop before this. I wanted to show my mom how the dress look on me and Karoza is closer to where I live than going back to the Wedding Day. The service here was horrible. I didn't end up buying it from here.

Great little boutique, you get a nice roomy fitting room. I tried on alot of dresses and the girl assisting me was very patient.

I definitely don't think it was that bad of an experience when I went to look for a dress. The first day I went, we looked at probably 3 dresses and luckily I found the dress I wanted to wear that same day. The style was Jovi by Maggie Sottero....absolutely love this designer! The store has an excelent selection in designer bridal gowns.
Ani was the name of the girl who helped me that day. She was definitely a lot of help and assisted me to the very end! I noticed the previous review of her helping out another bride and I too suggest you ask for her next time you think of stopping by the area( that is if she is still there). The seamstress was a little rude but, overall liked the choice I made in visiting Karoza. Good prices too!

they are not that bad its just that I cant understand what they are saying. The lady has an accent and she spits when she talks... Say it dont spray it..

PLEASE, CAUTION BE AWARE, ROZA THE OWNER IS KNOW FOR CHEATING THE CUSTOMERS, BIG TIME! SHE SWITCHS THE LABELS OF THE GOWNS FROM SIZE 6 TO 2, FORCING THE CLIENTS TO REQUEST ALTRATION!!! PLEASE, CHECK THE LABELS BEFORE TRYING ON THE DRESS! SHE ALSO CLAIMS SHE MAKES A SPECIAL ORDERS FOR HER CLIENTS, MEANWHILE THE DRESSES ARE FROM HER ATTIC!!! DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE BUYING..CONTACT THE DESIGNER IF NECESSARY. GOOD LUCK TO ALL!

They aren't the nicest people in the world, they are very blunt. But once you get over the lack of smiling, they are great. I got the most beautiful dress ever at a great price. And they were completely on top of alterations, the dress came in really early, I even ripped the petticoat I rented, but they gave us back our full deposit. Great place, just not terribly friendly...

First experience was good. I found a couple dresses I liked and the girl that helped me was very sweet.
Second experience a week later...HORRIBLE!!! I am in NO way a bridezilla BTW. My sales person Marlena was a total Biotch. She never once pulled down the crinoline, did not even try to zip up the dresses or clip them or at least hold the back so I could get an idea of what it looked like. She even kept opening the door to show my mom and bridesmaid before I even had the dress all the way on (ie. my chest was totally exposed and naked). Even after my mom mentioned that there was a man in the store and we should be more careful, she kept doing it! So rude!
When we asked if we could take a picture of me in the dress, it was as if we asked about a matter of national security.
Originally, I had planned to get my dress, accessories and bridesmaid dresses there (after my first experience), but now...NO WAY!!
I even called the next day to let them know very nicely that I did not have a good experience and that I know others have had bad experiences with Marlena. However, Rosa blew me off and said that most everyone loves her. She really did not care that I had a very negative experience.

This was the first place I had gone to try on dresses. I went here specially because many of the dresses I wanted to try on were available at this place. Granted they had a large selection of gowns, they were so packed on the racks you can't even begin to search through them. I was displeased with the staff. Very unprofessional. As I was trying on dresses, other staff members freely walked into the room without even knocking! Hello!! Then, another staff member walked in to hand the girl that was helping me a tip that was left by another client. So tacky! I found a beautiful dress that I loved there, but I am hesitant to purchase it there simply because of the staff. I'll definitely be shopping around at other places!

He and his wife are fooling people..
I don't recomend this store to anyone....
Very low service...

This store has some GOREGOUS hair pieces, but they are drastically over priced for what they are.

This place is the worst. They start out nice until they get you to order your wedding dress, then they are non responsive, unprofessional, and could care less about your fittings. They refuse to accomodate you if you want more than 1 fitting. The seamstress is absolutely rude. I would not reccomend them to anyone. Nobody should be stressed over their wedding dress. I had the worst experience ever.

I had been to other bridal boutiques to try on various dresses, but when I narrowed my sights to two dresses, I was told by a very good friend of mine (who happens to be Armenian) that I had to go to this store. The first time I just showed up on a Saturday afternoon when the place was jam packed with brides. I was amazed at how pleasant the girls there were to me, even though I hadn't called before showing up on their doorstep. Haroush (I think that's her name) was an amazing help and even showed me some styles I had earlier dismissed. I then showed up several weeks later (again on a Saturday w/out an appt.) and found Ani. Ani was amazing. I would highly recommend her to any bride. She was very knowledgeable about what color would look good with my skin tone, what shape dress flattered by body type, and what style veil would be best for the dress. She also recommended another store for headpieces, should theirs be out of my price range. In the end, I purchased my dress here and for a few hundred less than anywhere else had offered me. I absolutely plan on purchasing my bridesmaid dressed from here as well.
*In short: f you want the whole bridal experience, go to Mon Amie first. When you get serious about buying, come here. You won't be disappointed.

In all fairness, I only visited Karoza's once. I spoke to Roza on the phone - she was patient and cordial with me. Once I arrived, I was helped by a young woman, Marlena. She was very sweet at first, but the fact that I didn't want elaborate beading on my dress really seemed to annoy her. She seemed really tired, put out, and exasperated (she didn't even bother zipping or lacing the dress in most cases).
Prices seemed on the high side of normal, with some room for negotiation (Marlena recommended I ask Roza for a discount). If you are looking for a lot of intricate, ornate gowns, and don't need too much in the way of personal service with a smile, Karoza may just be the bridal shop for you.

My dress was beautiful and the price was good. I would recommend this vendor.

I just got my dress there in June. I love that there is a big selection of dresses, and it is very organized, with each designer having their own section. This was great for me, because there was certain Designer that I loved, and I didn't have to sort through all the dresses for hers. Roza was not very friendly. There was one lady, who's name I have forgotten, it's been some months now, but she was sooo helpful, patient, friendly and just made it a great experience. It wasn't until I picked up my dress that I had to deal with Roza, she was again just very impersonable and unfriendly, it was like if I wasn't spending $8,000 on a dress, I wasn't worth her time. I spent $1500, I thought that was a resonable price for a dress. She was the only thing that ruined my experience there. I was going to get my dress fitted there and buy some of the bridal jewelry, but her attitude has changed my mind of doing anymore business there.

I've only ordered my gown last September '06 for my August 4th wedding! Karoza in Gelndale was only the second bridal salon I had been to and they were amazing. Roza was very informative on sizing, alterations that were anticipated. I expected to be rushed in, measured and tossed out. They took their time and made sure you understood any and all things Gown related, even foundation suggestions. My gown will not be in for a few more months, but just the initial experiance alone was wonderful. Will give a full review after the wedding.

A lot of dress choice but service is absolutely awful. Alterations lady is horrible. Alterations lady told all my bridesmaids that they all got fat and dont look good in their dresses. Won't recommend.

I ordered my dress in May 2006. I had the best experience there, I did go to other bridal stores in the glendale, montrose area. but all others were pushy for me to get an over my budget gown. Even though they are gorgeous i had a budget. When i went to karoza i told her my budget and they were more than happy to show me dresses. I finally found the one... LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! Their prices are fairly resonable.

I purchased my dress from Karoza's. They were one of the only bridal shops in my surrounding area that had a dress similar to the dress I wanted. On the phone Rosa was very sweet and helpful. She explained to me that my dress was a slightly older style, but not discontinued and could still be special ordered. I could come in and try on a dress that was similar and so I did. When I went in to try on the dress, Rosa's daughter helped me she was very sweet, I had two of my bridesmaids with me, they tried on dresses, we had a great time. When I went back to put my deposit, alterations and fittings, no one was friendly at all. I even tried to crack jokes but no one seem to have a sense of humor. Overall I can say everything went smoothly, the price was not bad, my dress came in on time, so I would give them an A+. Other than my first visit when the daughter helped me everyone else gets a big fat F for friendlyness!!!!

Karoza is a family owned bridal shop and they were so wonderful with the personal attention they gave me. I told them what I wanted and they brought me so many great gowns to choose from. I actually had three very different gowns that I had a very hard time choosing between. They even let me take pictures of the three gowns so I could figure out which one I wanted to buy. They did the alterations in house and had my gown ready in time for my wedding. They are also very reasonably priced, which was very nice.

I absolutely loved this bridal shop. They recently remodeled their store to add more designer dresses. Rosa helped me and she went over and beyond the call of duty. She took her time with me and let me try on numerous dresses. I was debating on getting my dress online, but it scared me a little. So I told her my situation, and she sold me the dress for a very reasonable price. Since I am so tall I had trouble finding a petticoat that had extra, extra length. All I did was call her and she told me she would have one the following week.
