Kate Baker Floral Design

Kate was absolutely amazing to work with. It started off a little rocky (she hadn't been returning phone calls or emails but found out later there had been a family emergency) but ended up being better than I could ever have imagined.

At our first meeting I came prepared with a list (a very long list) of flowers I liked and what I wanted to do with each. She was very open to my ideas and helped with ideas of her own. One of the things I loved about Kate was that she wanted to make it different. I knew she had done weddings at my venue before, but never once did she say, well I did this before and I like it this way or that (I actually had another florist tell me exactly how he wanted me to do it and even offered extra flowers so he could get what he wanted-it drove me bonkers).

We corresponded alot through email and she was always quick to respond and very attentive. I sent her many pictures of what I liked and she seemed to get my vision better than I did.

The day of the wedding she delivered my bouquet and the MOH/BM bouquets to the hotel where we were getting ready. They were stunning. I couldn't believe how well they came out. When I got to the venue she was busy setting up the ceremony site. I snuck a peek and said hi and told her that she blew my mind. She commented that she absolutely loved my color scheme and the flowers I chose were in season so it made it that much easier to put something great together.

I can't say enough about Kate. She was willing to work within our price range and listened to me. If you are looking for a fabulous florist, Kate is your gal.

Oh my gosh I am still getting text messages from people telling me how much they loved the florals and asking who I went with! Every thing was just perfect, she did exactly what I wanted and more! I didn't really know what to do at first and she just came up with all kinds of ideas that I loved, but the finished product was even more than I was thinking- and it fit right in our budget. She was so helpful and open that it made it easier on us since we were driving up from San Diego, even when FI invited an extra BM & GM at the last minute! My bouquet was just perfect and all the bouquets were SO much bigger than I had thought! All in all, the venues garden didn't hold a candle to Kate's design :)

Kate was great to work with - really sweet and she was able to communicate with me about my ideas really well. The flowers she did for the tree branch behind our ceremony vows were gorgeous and lush, just as I wanted - and my bouquet was lovely. The cake took my breath away. I am biased of course, but I thought my cake was the most beautiful I had seen. Far surpassed the photographs I had sent for inspiration. The BM bouquets I would have liked to be a little rounder, but she used beautiful flowers and did a great job overall. I loved the flowers she used in the centerpieces. Kate, compared to some higher-end florists, used the same flowers as they did (she used to work for Mark’s Garden before branching off on her own), but came in a lot lower on her prices than they were able to. She also did a great job of working within my budget and communicating about beautiful, creative ideas. Kate was one of my most pleasant and easiest vendors to work with.

My husband and I met Kate at a local Bridal Show more than 8 months before our wedding.

She was unlike the other florists there because she wasn't at all pushy. She let us look through her photo albums and every time we had a question about a photo she was so kind and helpful.

We knew that our floral budget would be small but that we were going to have a lot of tables and a lot of guests. Some of the other florists I'd interviewed had told me that what I wanted was out of reach for the
amount I had to spend. One florist even suggested that I attempt to DIY since my budget was so small. Kate assured us that she would work with us and show us some options. So we took her card and decided to
research her further.

So I posted asking if anyone had experience with Kate. One poster responded to my post that she had an awful experience with Kate and that she did not recommend
her. After listening to the posters experience and reading her review I decided to confront Kate about what I had heard. I was very dissapointed to hear such a review because I had been so hopeful to
use Kate for our wedding. She just seemed like the perfect fit for us! So instead of crossing Kate off my list just because one person had a bad experience, I decided it would only be fair to hear both sides of
the story and decide for myself.

I am SO glad I did!

When I asked Kate about what I had heard, she described her experience to me. She told me openly and honestly how she felt about it. She was
clearly saddened and frustrated by the whole experience. While there was obviously a mix-up between her & her previous client, Kate felt that it was unfair that because of one clients story her reputation had been so badly damaged. Kate explained that she takes pride in her
work and in the way that she operates her business and that the things that happened between her & the previous client would not ever happen with any of her prospective clients.

After even further research and veiwing the sample centerpieces Kate made for us, we decided to hire Kate.

Kate was one of my favorite vendors. She is one of the sweetest, most cheerful women I think I've ever met and is a pleasure to work with. There were many bumps for me along the road of wedding planning & Kate was always willing to work with me when I needed to revise something, or needed an opinion on how things should look.

The reason she is given an A+ instead of just an A is because she went above & beyond my expectations, taking & setting up my votives for me, decorating with ribbon & petals that I had not bought from her, going
out of her way to make sure that everyone had their bouquets/bouts/coursages on my wedding day, and creating an absolutely beautiful display of flowers for me that I could have never imagined would be as extravagant as they were for the budget I had.

Kate really made my dreams come true.

I hope that any brides researching Kate will meet with her, give her the opportunity to show you her work & to show you what an amazing & trustworthy vendor she can be!

When I first got quotes on flowers, I really liked Kate and one other person. I decided to go with Kate because she seemed to "get" my vision more than the other person. We emailed back and forth with no problems for a while. I had noticed that on my quote, calla lilies were not included on the listing of flowers. I emailed her to make sure they'd be included because they fit in with the theme we were going for. She said no problem because our pricing was for premium flowers like peonies and orchids, so callas would be in the same category.

As things went along, it seemed like she was not writing down anything we talked about. When it came time to create my sample centerpiece I asked about the callas again. She said it would make my centerpieces $10 more expensive a piece. I was shocked, but had no recourse re: the previous email because my computer had died and I lost all my emails in Outlook. I went to Kate's home for our meeting only to discover when I got there, she had MOVED and not told me! She moved in December and it was March when we had our meeting. I had spent HOURS in traffic from West LA to Sherman Oaks for that! Once I got Kate on the phone and got directions to her new home in Valley Village, I was on my way, but I was irritated about the lack of professionalism on that front. I forgot about all this when I saw my sample centerpiece and LOVED it so much that I cried a little when I saw it. I mean, I had the inspiration for it and told her what I wanted, but she created exactly what I'd envisioned.

When we had our final meeting, I wanted us to go out to my church because she'd never worked there before. She told me that I'd be charged for her travel time and a babysitter for her daughter. She said she could work from pictures of the church. I was disappointed because her contract said that we could combine a visit to a site she'd never worked with the final visit, but I just let it go. At the final meeting, she pulled out the old, original quote from August (this was late May) and had no notes of anything we'd talked about. So we had to review it all again. Her daughter was there and while a lovely child, she really shouldn't be in on business meetings. She was basically destroying the ostrich plumes I'd bought to go in my bouquets and centerpieces because she was crushing and twisting them all around while Kate just sat and didn't notice or comment. My fiance had to leave the meeting and take Gracie (her daughter) outside into the yard to look at the birds and stuff because even he was peturbed at the destruction of our stuff. At the meeting, Kate also told me my set up fee would likely be significantly higher because I was asking her to set up bud vases and feather centerpieces (all pieces I bought) on the 8 cocktail tables. This was never said before...in fact, she'd always offered to just put them up and never said anything about charging. I also asked her to include the set up costs for some rice paper lanterns because I wasn't sure if the hotel was going to be able to do it (and then let her know later on that the hotel would be doing it, so she didn't need to bother).

She also said that we may need to pay more for set-up because we needed her to drop off the personal flowers at the hotel first, then go to the church to set up for the ceremony, then back to the hotel to set up for the reception. However, it had ALWAYS been the case because we had ALWAYS planned to do pro pics at the hotel before the ceremony. Her description of the size of the bouquets had been specific (i.e. 11 inches in diameter) previously, but when we met again, her descriptions of the bouquets were much smaller, probably 2/3 or less of the size she'd previously stated. My mistake, I should have made sure it was in the quote to start. The bouquet size was important to me because I'm by no means a small girl and my bridesmaids are big booty girls, too :D I thought a small bouquet would look ridiculous against larger hips and had said so before.

The meeting was on a Saturday in the late morning/early afternoon and really, it was just deleting and slightly changing some details on the original quote, something that literally takes less than 30 minutes because the document is already created in Word. She said I'd have the final quote soon. On Tuesday, my coordinator called her and left a message. She also emailed her to find out the status of the quote. Kate did not return her call or email. I tried calling her Wednesday with no response. I left Kate a voicemail on Thursday. All this time, none of us had heard from her. On Friday, she called me while I was in the middle of class and I ran out into the hall to speak with her because it had been a week since she'd touched base. She told me then that she had not worked on our final quote at all because she was busy with work. I was stunned because this convo could have been had before and I wished she would have told me earlier. She asked to have until Monday (Memorial Day) and I agreed, mostly because I was too shocked to say otherwise and was in the middle of class and didn't have time for an argument. During the conversation, she said that she had a floral designer out sick all week and she'd been really busy...but too busy to shoot me a 30 second email or quick phone call to give me a heads up when I'd been trying to get ahold of her for several days????

I emailed her on Saturday and said that I needed her to have the quote for me by Sunday at 8PM or I'd be looking for another florist. I was really concerned she was going to jack my prices way up, partly because I'd read the story of another bride who used Kate whose final quote went up by several THOUSAND dollars and that was just not in my budget. She sent me the final quote on Monday at about 3PM or so. I already had another florist appointment that morning. During this week, Kate emailed me THREE times...I couldn't buy an email the week before, but when she sensed there was trouble, she was overly persistant.

I agonized over the decision and ultimately, we decided to use another florist and only have Kate create our bouts and corsages in order to use the $250 we paid her without cancelling and having to pay her another $1000+ with no product. This really was a difficult decision for me to make and one I was really upset about. Literally, I cried because I don't like to hurt people's feelings and upset them, but I didn't trust her to do a good, professional job with our wedding.

That is when she went from slightly unprofessional but harmless, to wildly unprofessional, bordering on harrassing. She called my cell phone and left me a 5 minute voicemail where she accused me of stealing her ideas and taking them to another florist to create and basically just bitched me out. I couldn't listen to the voicemail right away, so my fiance listened to it. I could hear her YELLING from a couple of feet away through the earpiece as he listened. This voicemail was listened to by several people who can attest to the veracity of this. As I said before, there was no truth to me stealing her ideas since anything she created was all MY inspiration and guidance. An email followed that was erratic and went from trying to explain her poor behavior almost tearfully, mentioning how we were "friends" to threatening legal action.

Kate wrote me an email on June 9 where she tried to explain herself (after her rude and unprofessional voicemail and email on June 3) and asked me to explain my rationale. She admits in this email that she hadn't even started on my revisions as of Thursday of that week and that's when her designer called in sick...so the excuse of being overwhelmingly busy due to a sick assistant for Sunday-Wednesday doesn't hold water. She alluded to us being "friends" and having a "friendship", but it was basically a guilt trip, as her first email back to me after finding out I wanted to cancel, she referenced taking legal action.

Against the judgment of others who I'd asked for advice, I decided to write her an email where I basically explained the aforementioned concerns I had. In my email I started with, "Kate, I have decided to respond to this message because hopefully this issue can be put to rest after doing so." and ended with "Anyway, I hope this response helps you move on in some way and understand where we're coming from. I can't say that I'm completely confident that I will get my flowers with no hassle, but I am trusting you to be a professional in this situation." (this was in reference to her saying to trust that we would still get great flowers that we were paying for).

She basically lost it at this point and wrote me back a really snippy and rude email. She ended with, "Okay, I'm so done. Your flowers will be gorgeous, of course I am a professional. Please direct any further correspondence you have with me through Mistyka or Denise. [my coordinator and her assistant]" So yes, she was refusing to communicate with me, her client.

I really feared not getting a good product from her. She said in an email to me on June 11 that she was very angry with me, which is why she acted in an unprofessional manner. It wasn't beyond the realm of possibility that the unprofessionalism would extend to the end-product.

In the end it didn't matter since we postponed our wedding, but her behavior was so far from professional overall that I would not recommend her to anyone.

Also, I have an email from a former bride with her situation with Kate as well. In that case, Kate raised her prices by a large margin shortly before the wedding and when Christina tried to negotiate the prices down and change/eliminate items to fit her budget, Kate CANCELLED on her TWO WEEKS BEFORE HER WEDDING! Her wedding was on Memorial Day weekend, so it was tough for her to find another florist. So just be forewarned that it is not just one person who is/was unhappy with Kate's service.

Superb job on my wedding flowers Kate had created for me! She came highly recommended by a friend who used Kate for her own wedding as well as other vendors who had seen Kate's work in weddings! I knew I was in trusted hands when I booked her.

Her ideas were refreshing. She added modern touches to the cocktail table flowers and center pieces in order to help me keep the cost down. She got exactly what I wanted on the Birch "Trees" for my ceremony. What impressed me the most is the moms' corsages (it is ivory and looks translucent, which is amazing!!!) and the bouquets. I gave her a picture of my wedding gown and the bridesmaid's dress, and then she knew right away what style I like and color that would go well with it. She did such a soft and absolutely beautiful flowers for my wedding.

Kate was amazing to work with. I didn't know a lot about flowers when I started planning but I did know what I liked and had a general feel for that I wanted my floral design to reflect. Kate completely understood what I wanted and was able to translate my scattered thoughts and ideas into an absolutely, positively, drop dead gorgeous floral scheme. I was blown away with everything on my wedding day-- the bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony decor, and even the cupcake table! She really delivered everything we wanted and then some! Kate not only figured out my exact sense of style and delivered it, but she also used such high quality, premium flowers. I was definitely on a budget and yet my florals all looked like high-end, extremely expensive pieces. I highly recommend Kate because not only is her work beautiful & high quality, but she also was also great during the planning process, making sure we stayed within our desired budget, and that we achieved our vision for the day! Kate BLEW me away on the day of our wedding……..first in the morning, when I first saw our bouquets, and then later at the reception. It was all I had envisioned and more. She was great to work with from our initial meeting on, was always very excited about my ideas and my colors. She even went an extra step and put individual flowers on my head table’s placesettings, and bar for free. I highly recommend Kate…….she has an eye for detail and high-end design, that many other florists I met with, at the same price point,didn’t come close to.

Kate was a pleasure to work with and did such an amazing job! All the guests were telling me how much they loved the arrangements; which is nice to hear because most of the time people don't notice them. She understood exactly what I had in mind and created even more beautiful arrangements than I could have imagined.

She created arrangements that were unique, well designed, beautiful colors and textures, and durable! We had her move the both the altar and pew arrangements from the church to the reception and they looked great in both places and was helpful for budgeting.

She was very flexible in terms of budget, telling us upfront what our options were for the amount and types of flowers we could use for our price range; and she stayed within our budget.

Kate was on the whole easy to work with, and her flowers were more successful than I could have imagined.

Kate is the best! She was more amazing than I ever could have imagined! Everything was beautifully arranged. I recommend her to everyone who wants flower arrangements that look like they belong in a magazine. I got so many raves from so many guests and it was all thanks to Kate. The reception venue looked beautiful and classy thanks to Kate's hard work.

Kate is incredible. One of my best friends used Kate for her wedding and I was impressed by the flowers, which were bright, elegant and full of style. Since I had a small flower budget, I really didn't think I'd be able to afford her after seeing her work, but went to meet with her anyways. Several people mentioned in their reviews that Kate "got" their vision and that is exactly what my experience was. I had a very specific idea of what I wanted (that was completely different than my friend's) and I was so encouraged when she not only understood it, but had great ideas and suggestions for me. I felt like I was sitting down with a girlfriend to brainstorm ideas. She didn't put any pressure on me at all and was more than willing to work with my budget. She was very clear about what she could do with my budget and incredible about giving me ideas to save money and get the most out of the flowers. Her communication was consistent and professional and she kept me in the loop with any changes or updates, including finding out that my church required draping on all the pews. Instead of assuming organza or netting would be okay (which I do not like) she let me buy my own thick ribbon (giving me exact yardage of what to buy) and hung it for me. Kate is warm, unique, creative, professional and excellent at what she does. I highly recommend her!

I love Kate! She was such a gem throughout the entire wedding planning process. During our first meeting, my fiance and I explained that we were on a tight budget and were paying for our entire wedding ourselves. Kate managed to work around our budget so that we paid what we were hoping to pay and still got absolutely beautiful flowers. Our centerpieces were gorgeous (we gave them away at the end of the wedding, and I had friends who were trying to take more than one home!), and our ceremony photos are stunning, thanks to her work. She was the first vendor at the ceremony site, and was there setting up before anyone else even arrived. I would highly recommend her.

Kate was great at listening to my vision, good at documenting our plans, and responsible about communicating with me.

She was very understanding when I was stressed, and then shared in the excitement of my day. The flowers were gorgeous.

I couldn't believe how perfect my flowers turned out. I got married in my backyard and was afraid the flowers there would interfer with the wedding flowers. Kate came to see the yard and we talked about what I had in mind for the flowers and wa-la...that's what I got. EXACTLY what I had in mind! And the quality of the flowers were unbelieveable. They were still gorgeous when we returned from our Honeymoon and I've dried my bouquet, my husband's bout' and a few of the smaller vases. They still make me smile every time I walk by them.
I rented Kate's wrought iron arch and, causally, mentioned that I like the wrought iron table she used in her office. I got that, too!~! We used it for the unity candles.
Everyone who has commented on the wedding has commented on how lovely the flowers were and how well they complemented the live ones growing in my back yard.
I recommeded Kate to my friend who was getting married a month after I did. My friend wanted a completely different look than I did. She was wearing white and wanted dramatically colored (red/purple) flowers. I wore lavendar and wanted muted pinks and whites. We both got exactly what we wanted. One of my favorite pictures of the wedding is a picture of some of the flowers in an old crate waiting to be perfectly placed around the house.
I HIGHLY recommend Kate.

I had read some positive reviews on this site and was happy to read that she was attentive to brides on tight budgets. I went to her online proposal site, spent a good deal of time with my particulars and filled it all out.

I waited a few days and then I called and left a message. I did this in June, and I know that is a busy month so I waited another week and called again. Left a second detailed message. I never received an email and never received a call back. I left 2 call back numbers both times to be helpful. No one is that good that a simple call back or email can not be sent. I had 2-3 other florists who dropped off after initial conversations; I'll mention that in reviews on their listings but I give them credit for a half-try. I'm shocked that many of you actually got in contact with her - but I'm happy for you! I'd like to think that her office voicemail system went down for the month of June, or my email just thought she was spam. A great mystery indeed.

Kate is amazing! I was very happy working with her. She's responsive to emails (which was very important to me!) and super nice. And she does FABULOUS work! The centerpeices and altar arrangements at my wedding far exceded my expectations! Everyone thought my wedding was beautiful and Kate's work had a lot to do with it. I highly recommend her.

Kate Baker was our favorite vendor, hands down! Our flowers were like something out of a wedding magazine. I was very indecisive during my planning and Kate was an absolute gem, helping me with tons of creative ideas and helping me make the right choices for my flowers. My wedding was so romantic and the flowers just glowed - the colors were stunning, and every flower was perfect. I would recommend Kate very very highly!

I booked Kate for my Sept. 23rd wedding and was pretty concerned after reading this review about her. I met with her to view my sample centerpiece and go over last minute wedding details. She reassured me that she is a professional and that I had nothing to worry about. My centerpiece was beautiful and all pricing was clearly explained and noted. She was also very understanding when I had to make a lot of changes to the centerpieces in order to accomadate my in-laws, responding promtly to all of my emails. At this point in time I have no worries about using Kate for my flowers - I will post pictures and give a full review after my wedding.

Kate was really wonderful to work with. I came to her with a few pictures, a general idea of the feeling that we were going for, and an approximate budget. During our first meeting she came up with the PERFECT centerpieces and color scheme. Because my colors/theme was peacock feathers, this had the potential to turn everything into a tacky bright mess. Kate created elegant, vibrant, romantic pieces that also worked with the rustic vibe of our venue.
On top of her creativity, she sent me a quote with at least two options for each flower location (three centerpiece ideas, two different bouquet possibilities, etc) because I had a tight budget and she wanted me to be able to put together everything I needed at a price I could afford.
The day of the wedding, I could not believe what she provided for the price that she charged. She went so far above and beyond (I wish there were stronger words); Kate took my vague ideas and the list of flowers that I like and created the most beautiful flowers arrangements I have ever seen. I will post pictures as soon as I get them!!
I highly recommend Kate for floral design. She is professional, creative, easy to work with, and spells out everything very clearly from the beginning.

After having met with 2 other Floral designers before Kate, we finally met with Kate. She impressed both my daughter (the bride) and I (her mother) as soon as she walked in. Just on the basis of the description of our wedding coordinator she had a sample centerpiece ready for us to look at and it was exactly what we were both imagining.. She truly understood my daughter's ideas of what she wanted, and the wedding turned out beautiful, to a large extent because of how beautiful the floral arrangements were at the ceremony, cocktails and reception. All the floral arrangements, the centerpieces, the chuppah, the flowers along the aisle, the cake, the cocktail hour flowers and the bouquets were all beautiful and just as we had imagined. Most of all Sabrina was so happy and grateful that Kate was able to find her some peonies for her bouquet, and even some for the cocktail tables and the sweetheart table. This was a real bonus, especially since Kate didn't think she'd be able to find any peonies at all this time of year. All the little extra touches made the night magical (even the little pink flowers she had in the pot holding up the sign directing people to the ceremony site). It was truly beautiful and we got many, many compliments about how beautiful everything was. Kate truly listens and understands the bride's vision for her day and does an excellent job of matching that vision and surpassing your expectations. She's the best and when my younger daughter gets married, Kate will be our floral designer again.

Kate was a gem! Honestly i have always been a little uneasy about florists and weddings since 90% of the weddings i have been to the FLORIST DIDNT SHOW. : ( So when about 2 months before our wedding we found out our previously booked florist cancelled us (without telling us) I panicked about finding a florist soooo late in the game. Luckily Kate came to our rescue, she completely put me at ease! We wanted something different and completely deconstructed and Kate new exactly what we were looking for! I was in awe of our flowers, everything was perfect! Not only that, Kate added some additional blooms to some cocktail tables : ) which was soooo unbelieveably sweet of her! She is amazing at what she does,all night we heard that the flowers looked like something from Martha Stewart Weddings!

My coworker recommended Kate to me, and she is a genuine gem! My wedding was in March of last year, and my favorite flower is peony. I didn't know that peonies are not in season in early March, but Kate went out of her way to produce some really nice fluffy ones for my bouquet. Her arrangements are beautiful and were made with really fresh flowers. My mom told me that it lasted 2 weeks after she took them home! I am very happy with Kate, and would highly recommend her.

Kate, I'm still looking at the flowers that I managed to bring home...they are still glorious. Your sense of color, use of the feathers, everything was perfect. I know Em didn't have a chance to tell you, but she was thrilled with all of the arrangements and bouquets. Everyone loved the table decor, the chuppah, and of course the little details scattered on the tables. People were fighting over who would take flowers home! You and your crew were fantastic and efficient! I think I will always keep a picture of you on the ladder dressing the chuppah! When the photos get back to us we will be sure to send some your way. Taek took a lot of photos that night and I'm sure the flowers were highlighted.

Hi Kate,

Clint and I want to thank you so much for the beautiful job you and your staff did with the flowers. I couldn’t have been happier. Everyone had been asking me, “what kind of flowers are you having?” and I would just reply with “oh, some hydrangea, peonies, perhaps some roses, I’m not really sure.” I think they thought I was crazy. Honestly, I wasn’t worried about them, but when I saw the flowers over the entryway, I knew I wouldn’t be disappointed. The centerpieces, altar flowers and the aisle flowers were perfect! I almost cried when I saw my bouquet. It was exactly what I envisioned. The wedding party flowers, corsages and the girls’ hair flowers were just gorgeous! I loved the bouts for the guys! They lasted all day. Also, the cake topper – I’ve always hated them, but mine was PERFECT! Not too large, not too small. I was thrilled. Everything was understated and lush, and simply gorgeous.

Even though I really didn’t have anything specific in mind, you captured exactly what I was looking for. Your insight and creativity made our special day even more special.

i can't say enough great things about kate baker. i'm thrilled she's put me on her reference list; i'm happy to be able to do something nice for her after all the beautiful work she put into our wedding. we were so happy with our flowers... and we have received countless compliments on them.

kate is an absolute gem. her aesthetic is impeccable, and she really listened to what we wanted. she not only created what i had visualized, she actually exceeded my fantasy. she's creative, unique, thorough, and generous of her art. i've seen her photos of other weddings, and i was impressed by not only the quality of the pieces, but the distinctive differences between the weddings - i never saw the same pieces created twice.

i'm not sure what your own aesthetic is, but our ideas for our forest setting and the subsequent dinner reception (on an outdoor deck) were ethereal, organic, almost "midsummer night's dream"... kate listened so carefully, and with such an open mind/heart, that she managed to create this beautiful scene for us. both my husband and i were completely impressed by kate and how well she translated our ideas into the most beautiful floral arrangements, bouquets, and bouts... and transformed our site into an even more enchanted place. she worked with our budget without sacrificing quality. lastly, kate loves what she does, and it shows. there's nothing cookie-cutter about kate, nothing assembly-line about what she does. she's an artist, and a good human.

in short, kate is patient, creative, honest, and truly, truly gifted.
