When I was researching makeup artists for our wedding, I already knew that I would like Kelly's style just from her portfolio & website. When I finally had my trial with her, I was just blown away - I was 100% sure that I had to have her be a part of our day & booked her on the spot. By far, one of the easiest vendor decisions during our wedding planning!

I can honestly say I LOVE Kelly!! She was one of the best vendors we had. She's super sweet & nice, professional, efficient, and just plain AWESOME at what she does! [I always felt she was more like a surrogate big sister - doing her little sister's hair & makeup - rather than another wedding vendor]. She has a good eye and knows how to make a girl feel & look absolutely GORGEOUS!

Kelly and her girls [Jessica & Marie] did a WONDERFUL job on the big day. They showed up on time, kept us calm & collected, and even did some light touch-ups for my FI. In the end, I thought my girls and I looked BEAUTIFUL! Exactly how I pictured everyone to be & more!

I would definitely recommend KZ and her team to anyone looking for an A+++ makeup/hair artist! She rocks!!

Kelly did my bridesmaids makeup and everyone was so happy about how they turned out. She and her assistant arrived on time (7:00 AM!), was easy going, chatty, professional, and fun to work with. She took her time and spent about an hour and a half on each girl so they felt really pampered and special.
I don't know how she did it but despite the 90 degree heat my BMs' makeup lasted the entire day from 8:00 am till midnight. They looked girly & lovely, but still like themselves. Everyone was also very happy with their hair, which was quite a challenge since they each had their own hairstyle.
I made a last minute change but Kelly was so understanding and accomodating. I really appreciated her flexibility and felt like she acted more like a friend than a vendor. I highly recommend her and think she is sooo worth the money!

I truly enjoyed working with Kelly! She was extremely friendly and was always willing to listen to my suggestions and concerns. I also appreciated the fact that she was very honest with her feedback and helped me to choose the colors and styles that would best conceal my flaws while playing up my strengths.

When I was searching for makeup artists, I paid particular attention to ones that specialized in Asian makeup. I did two trials with Kelly (one more smoky eye, and the other slightly more natural), and both turned out amazing! She definitely made my eyes stand out and achieved the "fresh yet glam" look I was going for.

The day of my wedding, Kelly and her assistant did a great job with me and my bridesmaids, and I'd say the only thing I would change would be to have had more hair product applied on our updo's so the stray strands on the bottom could've stayed up longer. Other than that, I think everything was wonderful and I would definitely work with her again in a heartbeat!

Kelly and her team were awesome! They came early and set up and finished right on time. All of the bridesmaids got their hair and make-up done and they were very happy. Even my picky mom loved her look. Kelly was very sweet during the trials and on my big day. I felt beautiful and my husband loved it too! Kelly and her team did such an amazing job for my wedding! I hired Kelly to do the hair and makeup for myself, my 6 bridesmaids, my sister, my mother, my mother in law and my flower girl, and everyone looked fantastic! I had met with Kelly for my trial a couple of months before the wedding, and she did exactly what I'd asked for. I was so happy with the trial that I was almost concerned that I might not look as good on my wedding day! But, Kelly certainly did not disappoint! I am soooo happy with the way my hair and makeup turned out.

I have had my hair and makeup done professionally about 6 times, and perhaps it's because I'm an Asian woman, but I find that many makeup artists decide to go for the "cat eyes" when they do my eye makeup. But not Kelly. She knew exactly how to enhance my features and make me feel beautiful. And, Kelly and her team did the same for everyone in my bridal party (both Asian and non-Asian). And what was great is that they really listened to what each one of us wanted. Some girls wanted really light, natural makeup, and some wanted really dramatic makeup, and Kelly and her team were really accommodating and respectful of what everyone wanted.

Kelly was always really professional, but at the same time she is so sweet and so much fun that it was almost like having a friend there on my wedding day doing my hair and makeup. I am so glad I found Kelly, she is so talented and great at what she does! Now, if only I could find other formal events to go to so that I could hire Kelly again to do my hair and makeup ;) I highly, highly recommend Kelly Zhang!!!!

It was such a pleasure to work with Kelly! Many of my friends booked their wedding with her team also! I was really last minutes bride, but kelly is very is fixable and give me so many suggestions for my wedding day look! It turned out perfectly!!

She showed up at 6AM (on time )at my hotel to get me and my girls ready. Kelly and her team is very professional. You guys have no idea how many make up trials I had with other makeup artists before I found Kelly. When I first met Kelly, I was very impressed by her Skills! I got very bad acne scar, She used airbrush makeup on me, Covers everything! Kelly and her team show up on time to my wedding day! My make-up was absolutely perfect and lasted all evening. She also did my mother's make-up, my bridesmaids, my mother they all looked stunning!!! I highly recommend her. I would give her 10 stars if I could!

Kelly is wonderful. I went in for my hair and makeup trial about a month ago and I loved what she did with my hair and makeup. She then changed up my hair a bit for my engagement shoot later that day. Everything looked so natural and soft but also formal. I am excited that she'll be doing my hair and makeup at the wedding!

I have to say, Kelly is one of my favorite vendor for my wedding. I have nothing but rave reviews for her. I had a great trial run with Kelly. We had a great conversation in which I was able to explain my style, my dress, and all the little details that factored into my look. She did a couple of looks on me until I was happy. Kelly took picture for all of my looks and go over each look with me. I had no doubt on my wedding day that I was going to look exactly how I wanted. That made me feel very confident. After so many researching , I decided to do trials with 2 of my favorites makeup artist. I set up a trial with Kelly first. Kelly responds quickly to emails and phone calls and is very accommodating. At my trial day, She really takes her time and does not rush you. I ask for a brown smokey eyes, and she did a great job. It wasn't too overpowering, yet enough to make a statement. She is very good at blending and contouring the eyes. She is not afraid to try new things which gives you a wide range of different looks to choose from. Also, My hair is very flat, I’m still amazed how she did my hair with so much volume! i LOVE it! I had so much fun working with her at my trial,I actually cancelled my other makeup trial and have decided to go with her on my big day.

On my wedding day, I ask her to come in at 6:00am, and she even came in early for us. she wants everything to be perfect. My make up stay fresh all day long. I got so much complements on my makeup and hair. Not only kelly outdid herself, but she was able to accommodate me with changes at the last minute. She definitely work well under pressure!

As someone who does not anything about hair, besides a round brush blow dry, or make up, besides eye liner and powder, hiring Kelly Zhang and her staff (Karen) to do the hair and make up for my wedding was definitely the right choice. They were very friendly and accommodating. During the trial session, I was not sure of what hair style I want, up or down and Kelly was able to show me both that same day. I didn't choose the up do for the wedding, but it was gorgeous (see bio) and I loved loved loved my makeup and hairstyle the day of the wedding. They were very professional and that made me very comfortable about my choice to hire them. Kelly is very talented and devoted to her craft and anyone who hires her and her staff will, without a doubt, feel absolutely gorgeous.

Kelly is very friendly and professional!! I had my makeup trial in March 09 and got married 6 months later. She has been very popular and always in high demand so I made a deposit to book her as my make up artist 6 months in advance. She did an amazing job on my wedding day ie arriving at 4:30 AM on time at my house, coming to the church at noon before ceremony for touch up and visiting me at the hotel at 7pm to redo my hair!! I was looking for a vendor who understands Asian skin and I found Kelly in one of the wedding websites. I did a trial make up service for her and it went well. I didn't know what I wanted but she was able to give me some options. During the wedding day, Kelly and her assistant was there right on time. They were efficient and very professional. I and my wedding party looked great from 4 pm all the way to 11 pm that day!

I had to sign Kelly as soon as I had my trial done. She is amazing at her craft! I looked liked myself but better!

Kelly did my engagement ceremony hair and make up and everything stayed put from 8am to 10pm that night! Kelly and her team also did the hair and make up for me, my 3 bridesmaids and my mom on the wedding day. I had a Chinese morning ceremony that started at 8:30AM so we had to start our hair/makeup super early (around 4:30AM!) Kelly and her team even showed up a little early to make sure that the makeup applying started promptly at 4:30AM. She also came back later that night ON TIME during my reception to do another hairstyle for my Chinese dress.

I would recommend Kelly to everyone. Her prices are also extremely reasonable, she's easy to talk to and does amazing work. Thank you Kelly for making me beautiful!

Kelly did my makeup + hair for my wedding in Oct, 2008. Everyone loved my makeup + hair. I thought the makeup looked ver natural. My bang did start to come undone but Karen was able to fix it before the wedding and photo shoots! (Kelly had to leave early to another wedding appointment.)

They also did a fantastic job on my maid of honor and mom's make up + hair. Karen also did my sister in law and aunt in law's hair. And they all looked wonderful.

Her price is very reasonable and I would definitely recommend her to future brides!

I would definitely recommend Kelly Zhang and her team. I went to her house to do the trial run which was great - she was very meticulous, spending much time and really incorporating the ideas I had to give me a beautiful wedding day look. The day of my wedding, she arrived early and finished ahead of schedule, providing great looks for all the girls in my wedding party. Her calm, easy-going personality was a refreshing way to start my big day.

I had clip in hair extensions which I was really excited about. However, they did not hold the curl that well throughout the night so i would be careful with these.

Kelly is definitely is the best! She is a professional makeup artist in all aspect. Her makeup was amazing and it lasted all day (even though the day of my wedding was crazy! It was cold, windy, and then it would get really hot during the afternoon). However, by the end of the night, my makeup look as if it had just been applied. I sprung the wedding portraits at the last miniute since my wedding day was so hectic, I didn't get a chance to have take many photos with my hubby. Kelly and her team were great! An added plus is that her pricing was very reasonable. I went in for my hair/makeup trial, and Kelly had great suggestions as to how to best accomplish the look and feel that I wanted. She was also honest (but tactful!) with her opinions, which I appreciated. On the day of the wedding, she and her team arrived promptly and finished with everything early. You can tell she is a perfectionist, and that she is very concerned with making sure you are happy and comfortable with the final look. I highly recommend her!

I have personally thank Kelly on a wonderful and professional job, but I want to commend her on-line and share my experience of her with everyone. I found her website last year while fumbling through the internet. At first, I was skeptical, but after speaking and emailing with Kelly several times, I decided to do a trial session.

The day of the trial session, I was impressed with her professionalism. She came with her make-up luggage box and started laying out all her make-up tools. We conversed from the brands of cosmetics she utilized and what types of hair-do would look good based on my facial features. At that time I didn't have any wedding outfits picked out yet. Also, I had my Mom, Aunt, and cousin with me to give me a second set of eyes and feedback. At the end of the session, I was impressed how natural the make-up looked on me.

Was I sold on her afterwards? Trust me, I have lots of friends/cousins who got married, and I'm pretty familiar with some the make-up artists they've used. I've been Maid of Honor three times and know how it feels to go through on a wedding day. However, I was looking for a PROFESSIONAL and GOOD make-up artist who can come to my house early on the day of the wedding and still give me a good deal. After several interviews with other make-up artists around my area, Kelly was the one who was able to meet all my requirements.

The most special day of my life dawned upon me. Kelly and her team arrived at 5:15 am promptly. They were dressed up in their professional black t-shirts with her logo. I was impressed again on her professionalism. She worked on me and afterwards worked on the hair-do's of my bridal party of 6. She completed her assignment by 9am - just in time before the groom picks me up. Around 5pm, Kelly arrived to my banquet location and did a touch-up on my make-up and did a new hair-do for the night. Again, she was on time and waiting for me while I ran a little late.

Overall, I definitely recommend Kelly Zhang for make-up and for her professional and wonderful service. She's very sweet and nice and very pleasant to work with. She listens to the client's needs and comes up with expert suggestions. If I didn't find Kelly on-line, I think my special day would definitely be different.

We want to thank Christina and Jessica for their amazing jobs not only on the bride but on all the 6 other girls getting hair and the 2 mothers getting hair and makeup in a span of 5 hours. They were so patient with my mother who was so particular and so sweet to the flowergirl who was so shy. They came very very early and could've started without being crunched for time had it not been for the bride who woke up late (although that was still only 3 hours of sleep). Thankfully they stayed late with Kelly's permission and finished until everyone including my mother-in-law looked absolutely stunning. My husband still comments on how beautiful his mom looked and that we've never seen her like that. Of course everyone, especially my husband still talks about how beautiful I looked that night. It was exactly what I wanted and Christina worked very patiently with me to get every strand of my hair exactly the way I wanted. The whole night was magical and I felt like I was cinderella. Jessica worked very quickly doing the rest of the girls but she also made them look so beautiful. We really can't thank you enough for all your hard work and amazing talent! I'm so glad we went with Kelly Zhang Makeup!

What can I say about Kelly and her work that hasn't already been said? She did a great job on my hair and my Maid of Honor's. I am pretty inexperienced at having my hair and make-up done for special occasions, so Kelly's advice on how I should wear it and take care of it was extremely helpful. I was amazed at how quickly she worked, and even though she did my hair in the morning and the wedding wasn't until the evening, my hair kept its shape the entire day. Even though Kelly didn't do my make-up because my friend had offered to do it as a wedding gift, Kelly was sweet enough to offer to take a look at the colors we picked out and offer some helpful tips. PROFESSIONAL, PROMPT, RELIABLE, KNOWLEDGEABLE...After searching around for a makeup artist, I couldn't be happier with what I found in Kelly. I was initially struck by how much she understood skin tone & face shape as they related to hair & makeup. She spent years studying makeup artistry and it certainly showed!

She also takes into consideration your style, trying to mesh your hair/makeup with your gown, flowers, venue, etc. When she applies your makeup, she is almost in a trance, focused only on making you beautiful by highlighting your natural features. Of course, skill without professionalism is nothing. On the day of my wedding, Kelly was recovering from a cold, yet she still arrived early for our 8 AM appointment (wearing a face mask to keep from spreading germs) to do hair and makeup for myself and my three bridesmaids. Kelly did my hair and makeup for my engagement ceremony a year ago. I immediately booked her for my wedding right after! She is super super sweet and genuine, professional, and no doubt talented! She give me a natural look for the morning and a smoky look for the reception all while "making me look like me." I would definitely recommend her in a heartbeat!

I have nothing but the best to say about Kelly and her team. Being very particular, I had already had 2 makeup trials and a hair trial that included 5 different styles. With the day fast approaching, I was desperate to find the right makeup artist and hair stylist. Kelly was booked but recommended Marie. After my trial I was blown away... Marie nailed my makeup AND hair. YAY!

Needless to say, I was VERY happy on my wedding day. And throughout the entire process from trial to finished look, I was nervous and full of questions and comments. They both answered all my concerns and on the day, Marie did a great job keeping me calm.

I was very specific about what I wanted and it was their goal to achieve it. Also, I was not initially a believer of needing an "asian specific" makeup artist for my features, but I must say, they proved me wrong. They are the definite choice to go with because they understand the differences in skin and features and how to best highlight them.

I had a great experience with kelly and her make up crew. On my 2 trial runs, Kelly listened to how I wanted my hair/make up and offered great suggestions. I placed my trust in her work and everything was wonderful on my wedding day. They showed up early and on time on my wedding day to work on 4 bridesmaids, me and mother-in-law's hair and make up. They did a fabulous job and completed everything on time. Very professional. They were able to cater to a bridesmaid who didn't want heavy make up/eye lash extensions and still made her look great. I also had a touch-up session in the middle of my wedding day. Kelly was able to rearrange my hair and changed my make up for the night banquet. Awesome work! I'd recommend them any time.

I usually don't wear any makeup so I was worry about looking like a different person on the day of my wedding. For a very reasonable price, Kelly bring out all of my good features and made me look really natural. On the day of my wedding, everyone couldn't stop complimenting how great I looked. Kelly was willing to accommodate me in many ways when me and my bridesmaids needed to be ready early in the morning. It was really windy on the day of my wedding but my hair looked just as great after few hours of outdoor photo shooting. I highly recommend Kelly. Thanks for doing a great job that day, Kelly.

Kelly is absolutely awesome! She has a natural talent for bringing out the best look in you and makes you look amazing every time. After the trial, I had no doubt I wanted Kelly to be my wedding makeup artist. Kelly is sweet, attentive, and a perfectionist (in a good way). Kelly did my hair/makeup, and her team did the hair/makeup of my five bridesmaids, plus four family members. Even though we had a huge group, everyone looked amazing, and we couldn't have been happier with the results.

wow all 5 star reviews, although I'd have to agree. unfortunately I didn't have Kelly on my wedding day, however she was there for my trial and was very nice and helped with the look for my wedding day. I did have Susie, however, and working with her was wonderful. Neither I nor my bridesmaids wear make-up on a daily basis, but Susie made us look pretty! not over-done, and I have to say, please check out their web-site, the before and after shots say it all and these ladies are very sweet, genuine (both hard to find in the industry), and professional. She also gives make-up lessons apparently, and they turned me on to new make-up brands to try which is always fun. =) highly highly recommend these ladies.

I went to many trials before my wedding, all the them turn out to be very heavy foundation and dark eye make up, Which i really hated it! I booked Kelly for my wedding day right after my trial, without going to other hair/makeup artists. I thought the trial went well, but the "after" pictures didn't turn out as I had hoped. Wonderful! Kelly was great to work with on my wedding. She took the time during my make-up trial session to find out what my dress looked like and really try to match my hair and make-up to my dress and wedding theme.

The day of the wedding she and her assistants arrived promptly at 5am to get me and other family members ready. Kelly was very patient with two demanding mothers. All of us turned out beautiful! I was receiving complements all througout the wedding on hope wonderful and natural my make-up looked. It even lasted all day in the L.A. heat! After the wedding my husband and I had a photo session with our photographer and my hair and make-up were still perfect!

Kelly and her team are great! She did my makeup for two engagement sessions, one trial, and the "big day!" Her specialty is asian brides (she studied with a makeup artist in china for a while), but she does amazing work on anybody! She's also easy to get along with and is really prompt and efficient at getting back to emails. There are a lot of really expensive, overpriced wedding makeup artists in southern california that totally aren't worth it. Kelly is much cheaper and does a fantastic job. I got tons of compliments on both my hair and makeup. She makes you look glamorous, without looking cheap or TOO made up. My friend (maid of honor) hired her for her wedding in which I was a bridesmaid and both times we loved the result.

Asian barbie. That's what people said I looked like on my wedding day, and trust me I don't look like a model. I was disappointed when Kelly wasn't available on my wedding day and I was nervous about using one of her artists. But I booked with Jennie who was unbelievable. She did my hair, makeup and extensions. It transformed my face and hair, yet somehow still looked natural. I have flat volumeless hair and oily skin. I kept waiting for the curls to fall out and for my makeup to start smearing around my eyes. It never happened. And I have to admit, without sounding arrogant, that I felt really good about how I looked on my wedding day. It looked great in person and looked great in photos. I tested with many makeup studios and makeup counters and no one even came close to Jennie. It would either look great in person, but I looked like I had no makeup on in the photos. Or I looked like a crazy prostitute in person and looked normal in the photos. Jennie was able to achieve a beautiful look for both.

Kelly was amazing. I was so pleased with all of her work, and the work of her assistants. She was very professional, calming, easy to talk to, talented, and most importantly I feel like she understood what I was envisioning though I was horribly prepared at our consultation and at articulating what I wanted. In total- there were three ladies who had their makeup done, four bridesmaids w/ both hair and makeup, and mine own hair and makeup. All of the girls looked amazing. I had a beautiful bridal party to begin with, but they really did look great.

TIP #1- buy one of those makeup/hair books from amazon or buy some magazines with great pictures in it for you and your ladies to go through. I really suggest the makeup books since you can see the eye-makeup, lip color close up as opposed to some paparazzi shot of a celebrity. It really is so important. Sounds so simple, but with everything else going on it is so easy to forget. I had forgotten this at my consultation and was completely rushed at the last minute trying to pull up celebrity pics of hair/makeup I liked on my phone. Right when you need a picture of Kim Kardashian there is suddenly none to be found!??!! So when it came for the wedding day I was sure to bring in extra pictures. However, I brought in pictures that I liked for my own makeup/hair....I hadn't brought in much of a variety for the girls. Even if you ask them to bring in pictures, they most likely won't; just accept it and buy a good book with pictures of hair and makeup, it's worth it.

Kelly Zhang is a preferred vendor from my wedding reception vendor (fantasea yachts) and looked at her website right away. Right when I saw her work online, I immediately booked her for my wedding day even though it was 10 months in advance! Lead artist Jennie did my hair and make-up for the engagement photo shoot and everyone who saw the engagement photos loved my look! Jennie was so much fun to work with, she can entertain you while she works with you ;). I had so much fun with her and was impressed with her work, so I made sure that Jennie was going to do my hair and make-up for the big day. On the big day, Jennie & Kelly Zhang team arrived right on time and even brought an extra artist with them to make sure that there would be no delay. All the girls at my wedding party totally loved their hair and make-up, and of course I was totally more than satisfied with my own. Jennie gave me a natural look for the wedding! Everyone was complementing how I was glowing on my wedding day! The hair and make-up lasted the whole day. Jennie is a great artist and now consider her a good friend. Only met Kelly Zhang team 3 times, but I miss them already and appreciate all their hard work and talent. Would love to come back for a make-up lesson to learn from the best in the industry and just to have fun hanging out with them! Kelly and her team well exceeded my expectations. Kelly called me at 3:45am to let me know she and her team were on their way, and they also arrived sooner than expected for a 5:00am start, making me feel comfortable we will finish on time. When I asked how many additional staff Kelly was planning to bring, there were initially 3 artists, and then Kelly brought an extra artist to be on the safe side. I really appreciate that! We ended up finishing around 8:15am 1 bride, 5 bridesmaids, and 3 relatives without a rush and everyone loved their hair and make up. In addition to the 9 people mentioned above, I also hired Kelly and her team to do hair and make up for 3 additional relatives in another city. My relatives had a positive experience with Kelly's artists. Thank you Kelly and your staff for arriving on time, making us all feel so beautiful, and staying professional. If you are at all remotely interested in getting Kelly Zhang for your wedding, BOOK A TRIAL EARLY! I contacted her in January for my wedding in September & she was already booked!

I saw some crazy before & after transformations on their website so I was intrigued. The after photos have a common aesthetic: fresh faced, flawless complexion. The hairstyles range from sophisticated up dos to laid back curls & they're adept with birdcage veils & hairpieces. Here's what got me: they know how to make hooded Asian eyes POP & not in that anime kind of way.

Jessica C. did my bridal hair & makeup trial. While I didn't get 2 different hair styles as quoted on their website, she pulled together an up do that fit all the things I was looking for. I was a little hesitant about the makeup. It photographed well & didn't look cakey in person, but Jessica's stepwise fashion & slow graduation from natural look to more defined got me a little worried I would look too bare faced the day of.

I was asked to make a decision 2 weeks after the trial & booked Jessica C. No regrets here. I felt that Jessica C. did an even better job the day of, meeting requests of further eye popping and bone structure contouring spot on. The hair & makeup lasted through 10 hours of laughter, tears, & sweaty dancing, no fading, no hair falling out of place, & no false eyelashes coming off. No headaches either from the up do and obscene amounts of bobby pins used to hold it up. I really appreciated how Jessica C. was on time, calming, professional, & even allowed me to eat while she was doing my hair.

I booked with Mieko for my engagement shoot and was really pleased with how it photographed. Her enthusiasm & energy make the hair and makeup session a fun experience. She is also very knowledgeable about her craft & offered some great tips.

My interface with Kelly was the initial introductory meeting about bridal styles and booking. Kelly was so patient with the process. Circumstances kept changing & I had to keep updating the amount of bridesmaids & relatives getting hair & makeup. I appreciated how understanding & professional she was.

TIPS: Again, book a trial early. I cannot emphasize this enough. Their makeup artists get booked fast.

Try airbrush before you commit. I got the airbrush foundation for the engagement shoot & the application stung like a mother. The compliant Asian in me didn't say anything so it's really not fair to bring it up. Although it photographed well, airbrush looked cakey on me live. I'm glad I stuck with the traditional foundation for the big day.

Leave a lot of cushion time for hair/makeup sessions the day of. We went a little over the estimated time because I had 1 person in my camp not feeling how her hair & makeup were going. It's good to take that into consideration when planning.

I found Kelly Zhang from http://theKnot.com and was impressed by the good reviews for her online. It turned out that she was also the recommended makeup artist by my wedding coordinator. I did a trial with Kelly 5 months before the wedding and was very very happy about the result. I went to take my engagement photo shoot right after the trial make up, and those photos looked amazing; I knew I wouldn't have to worry about how I look on the wedding day. On my wedding day, Kelly arrived early and worked her magic on me again. The result looks natural and beautiful and it lasted all day long. I didn't even do any touch up. I cannot be happier. Kelly does amazing work!!! I have always been very picky when getting my hair and makeup done but I didn't have one complaint with Kelly. She made me look my absolute best on my wedding day. My hair and makeup looked great in photos and in person. Also, the air brush is a must...it lasted all day with minimal touch ups. I wouldn't trust anyone else on such an important day...you won't be sorry!

I can't say enough good things about Kelly Zhang and Mieko! My make up trial was so good and I couldn't decide which look I wanted --- I ended up with an updo for the ceremony and hair down for the reception. Mieko worked with me -- she was awesome. She arrived very early (earlier than I was, actually!) and was super prompt. I loved my make up -- it wasn't overdone. She's equally good at both make up and hair. She worked really fast too, came prepared (she was already fully set up when I arrived at my getting ready location and reception area), and was dressed very well!

Kelly too has always been very sweet and accomodating! She would answer emails even after midnight (!!!) -- she's always been very prompt to reply! I also had to adjust a couple things the *night* before the wedding and she has been so understanding!

The Kelly Zhang Team.. one word: amazing. My bridesmaids had the look they wanted and it turned out beautifully. Her team was Leann, Claudia and I can't remember who the other girl was. Marie was my hair and make up artist. She is awesome!!! I even changed my hair style a little after the trial and she had no problem with the change. It was very helpful to have a trial and be able to see the before and after. I have a TON of hair so I know how exhausting it is to curl every piece - I really appreciate it Marie!! The make up looked awesome - not too overdone, but definitely glamorous. I cannot tell you how convenient it was to have the girls come to my location. With all the craziness on your wedding day, it is small things like this that make your day go smoother. And they came at the crack of dawn which I needed since my wedding day started very early. They worked on 7 people in my wedding party and all of them looked great. I was very happy with their services :)

Kelly Zhang and her team are AMAZING!! I booked Kelly Zhang for my wedding day the day after my friend (Amy P.) got married. I was in Amy P's wedding as one of her bridesmaids, and was very impressed with how our hair and make up came out. It lasted all day and all night! I was sold!Between the time I booked Kelly for my wedding and the day of the wedding, we had tons of emails between each other. She was quick to reply to my questions and was flexible with my many changes. She even was able to calm me down when I had emailed her, freaking out about the tan lines on my chest that appeared after walking my dog a week and half before my wedding date. The day of the wedding, I showed her a picture of how I wanted my hair, described how I wanted my makeup to look and showed her my veil and fascinator, and boy did she deliver! My hair and make up came out great!! She also made my tan lines go away, leaving my chest all one color, so that I looked fabulous in my strapless gown! My bridesmaids, mom, mother in law, aunts, grandma, and of course, Amy P, all looked fabulous!!! Just to piggy back on what Amy P said, Kelly and her team really do make you look like yourself, but a better version. I just had my wedding last weekend on June 11, 2011 and Kelly Zhang and her team did an amazing and stunning job on me and my bridal party. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOOOOOOVED my hair and makeup. My bridesmaids all looked gorgeous and they were SOOO happy with their hair and makeup. I found Kelly Zhang through Yelp and Wedding Wire so I first have to thank all the "reviewer" brides for bringing me to Kelly (and her Studio) in the first place. What I immediately loved about Kelly was her incredible response time to all of my emails. She was one of the best wedding vendors when it came to answering any of my concerns and questions. I did a few make-up trials with other artists in the area and it was pretty unanimous from family and friends that my trial run with Kelly was the best by far. What's amazing is although the make-up may appear heavier in person, in photos, Kelly manages her make-up to look light weight and flawless. The word...perfection comes to mind.Price wise- Kelly is extremely fair to honor the price based upon what the rates are at the time you sign up. I hired her in 2010 but she agreed to offer me the 2010 rate even though I was getting married in 2011. I appreciated her professionalism in this regard.What I love about Kelly is not only her excellence in make-up but the fact that she managed to keep the naturalness in me and my 5 other bridesmaids but enhance our appearances to feel and look beautiful, confident and comfortable. Kelly can work with different hair types and skin tones which I was thankful for (my bridesmaids were of different ethnicities). It was a breath of fresh air to know I was working with a true professional. My bridesmaids and I received compliments all day on how natural and beautiful our make-up and hair looked. Although I had my hair styled by another artist, I was really impressed how Kelly styled each of my bridesmaids. Kelly made all of us look fantastic. She was wonderful to work with on the day of my wedding. She has a warm personality that is so nice to enjoy on a stressful and exciting day such as your wedding. Kelly arrived early, began to set-up quickly and smoothly transitioned each girl in her chair without any delay. I am so thankful and happy I went with Kelly. Thank you Kelly! You made me feel beautiful on one of the most special days of my life...I'll never forget it and I will make sure to recommend you to anyone in So Cal getting married (and needing a professional make-up/hairstylist).A couple recommendation to future brides: When getting a make-up trial, give yourself plenty of time to get to Kelly's location in Pasadena. I ended up getting there late because I was unfamiliar with the area (and traffic was bad that day due to heavy rain). Unfortunately, I was 45 minutes late so it cut down on my hair trial. I was disappointed I didn't have the chance to see how Kelly would have done my hair had she had more time to work with me.Kelly gave me a wonderful wedding make-up emergency kit but because I was so nervous and excited about the day, I forgot to ask her what was in each little container (and how to put it on). I would recommend having either your Maid/Matron of Honor or Bridesmaid receive make-up application instructions from Kelly so that way you have someone throughout the evening touching you up just in case. You probably won't really need it -my make-up stayed pretty much all night. Exception of the lipgloss because of dinner and cake-tasting).

Kelly Zhang and her girls are amazing. Mieko was my specific hair/make up artist and she was so sweet and great. She worked quickly, efficiently, and most importantly she did a FANTASTIC job. I hired The Kelly Zhang company for my wedding day purely on reviews. I live in another state so I never had an engagement session or bridal trial session. My wedding day was the first time having my hair and makeup done by the Kelly Zhang team and I could not be happier with the results. Kelly Zhang was wonderful at contacting me. They made sure to ask exactly how I would like my hair and makeup done for myself and bridesmaids. They confirmed the time and location of where they needed to be. My wedding ceremony was early so I needed everyone's hair and makeup done by 830am. We had 9 women including myself and they had three Artists to work on all of us. Our appointment time was 4:00am. I was impressed that the Artists arrived 15 mins early to my house and were ready to start exactly at 4:00am. My friends are beautiful, but The kelly Zhang team made them all look gorgeous. My mom and mother in law never wear make up and they received complements all day long. The best part about the makeup is that I cried a lot. I balled down the aisle. I was sure I ruined my makeup. I was wrong, even after crying my makeup was flawless. I got married on May 14, 2011, and after thorough research of the best hair and makeup artist in the OC/LA area, Kelly Zhang topped it all. Kelly and her assistant, Linda, created the look that my bridesmaids and I wanted for my special day. I couldn't ask for a better artist that listened to what I wanted, and also gave her professional input. She provided me with the security that I would look my best for my wedding day.

Highly recommended make up artist. Everyone gets nervous on the big day. I worried if things will turn out well or if any vender will have issues on my big day…. Kelly is definitely a reliable person to work with. She arrived early on my wedding day, relief my fears. Took care my mom, mother-in-law and myself. Kelly is FABULOUS!! She has the eye for beauty and amazing skills to make anyone look beautiful. I am so happy that I chose Kelly to be my MUA on my wedding day. Not only is her work absolutely flawless, she is friendly, accommodating and understanding. Dealing with so many ladies with different personality in a day is not easy but she was really patient and listened to our requests and likings. She is just awesome! Kelly is awesome! I had done one m.u. & hair trial before going to Kelly. The first trial with a different m.u.a. was good, but being someone who doesn't usually wear makeup, I wanted a second trial to compare. I'm so glad I went to Kelly. From the trial and on, Kelly was receptive to my ideas as well as providing me with her professional opinion and knowledge. She's so easy to talk to and work with, plus she and her team works hard to make sure everything goes smoothly and that you're stress free on wedding day. Prior to wedding day, I received both confirmation calls and emails from Kelly and Jennie. On wedding day, Kelly and Sherry arrive to the hotel early, got set up and went right to work. My BMs looked gorgeous, and both my mom and my mother-in-law looked fabulous. My mom never wears any makeup, gave Kelly few instruction and Kelly was able to make her feel pretty and comfortable - AMAZING! It also helped a ton that Kelly speaks Mandarin and understands both Mandarin & Cantonese. As for my makeup - I loved it! Kelly did it perfectly. She's also super sweet & thoughtful. She reminded me to eat and drink since it was going to be a long day. She also gave me a touch up kit that included straws! I didn't even think of that!Overall, hair & m.u. is one of the most important parts of wedding day. My hubbie & I are really happy that we went with Kelly & her team.

Had a trial session with Kelly and LOVED it! Came time to my wedding and LOVED it even more! Thanks Kelly for making me look beautiful on my wedding day and the touch up kit came in handy. Will definitely have you do my makeup again for a special occasion.

I was initially disappointed that Kelly was booked for my wedding day but once I started working with one of her lead artists, Jennie, I was very happy. Jennie did my trial, engagement session, and of course my wedding day. By the time my wedding day came, she knew what I would want, even though I wasn't sure! I liked what I saw in the mirror but hopefully the pictures come out well...I watched Kelly do a trial for a potential client as Jennie did my engagement session hair/make-up, and this bride looked amazing afterwards! I hope she chose to go with Kelly!!

Hiring Kelly Zhang for my wedding day hair and make up was the best decision I could have made for such an important day. She came on time, finished on time (in fact, early) and simply did the best "natural" make up on me that I could have ever imagined. My side up do was also exactly the way I wanted it and lasted all night! Kelly really has skills! She has such a sweet & outgoing personality too that it was fun working with her. I received tons of compliments on my hair & make up (and I've already referred some friends to her). My only regret is that I should have had Kelly do my make up for my engagement pictures too (pics would have turned out so much better!)...lesson learned. Going forward, if I ever need my hair and make up professionally done, I would not hesitate to call Kelly. She did a wonderful job on my mom too who really doesn't wear much make up and wanted more of a natural look than I did. My mom looked beautiful, but also felt comfortable and not like she had a bunch of make up caked on her. If i could, I would give Kelly 10 stars...she is just THAT good!

I got so many compliments about my hair and makeup on my wedding day thanks to Jennie from Kelly Zhang Makeup Studio. Jennie totally understood the style that I was going for and made it work for my face shape and skin tone. She also did an amazing job on my bridesmaids too.Kathy was our 2nd artist and she did a great job on my mom and my other bridesmaids. Everyone looked beautiful and natural. They showed up on time, got us done right on schedule and provided extra touchup items for me and the girls.Kelly was great to work with when it came to scheduling and details. She was great with all my last minute changes and really went above and beyond to accommodate all my requests.I went with someone else for my engagement session and I wish I would've stuck with Kelly and her makeup artists for all by bridal makeup. I'm going to be in a friends wedding next year and if I have a choice, I'm going to use Kelly's services again.
