Reviews for Key Bridge Marriott

The Key Bridge Marriott is a wonderful hotel to host your wedding event(s) and for your guests to stay. The Capital View Ballroom is a gorgeous room on the top floor with windows surrounding the room, which offers nice views of the Potomac River and Georgetown. Our guests loved it! The staff is very friendly and easy to work with - they are very flexible and want to provide whatever you want to ensure you are happy with everything! The guests loved the location of the hotel as they could easily walk along the Key Bridge into Georgetown and enjoy the sites of DC. We were thrilled with how everything turned out for our wedding!

As the mother of the bride, I couldn't have asked for a better place for my daughter's reception. Amanda Ownby was our event planner and was very helpful, accomodating, and flexible to work with. From the tasting, which was phenomenal, to the end of the reception, our service was very personalized and the party was perfect! Delicious food, gorgeous view, wonderful service-can't say enough. We had many out of town guests, so the venue was perfect for them and the guest rooms were very comfortable.

We got married (ceremony & reception) at the Key Bridge Marriott and were extremely happy with everything! The venue was very convient for out of town guests with easy access to the airports and all the tourist sites. The wedding package at the hotel includes a wedding coordinator which makes everything so much easier to plan! Our coordinator, Amanda, was always there to answer every question. The hotel caters all of the food and had a number of options starting with the cocktail hour to the dinner. The whole wedding was coordinated so well with great food and service. I would highly recommend!

We had our wedding reception at the Key Bridge Marriott and were THRILLED! Amanda Ownby was our coordinator and she did a fantastic job. The venue was beautiful and the location could not have been any better. The food was even better at the event than at the tasting! Several people told us that the food at the cocktail hour was the best they have ever had. We could not have been happier with how our special day turned out.

I can't say enough about the hotel and event planning staff of the Key Bridge Marriott. They were really perfection for our wedding. The staff went out of their way to make our event come off without a hitch when other vendors dropped the ball. They created a beautiful affair and the food was just delicious. Everyone was delighted with the service and I heard not one single complaint or negative comment. They have a terrific view from the Capital View Ballroom, too!
GUEST

Our wedding at the Key Bridge Marriott met all of our expectations and beyond. You are guaranteed the high service of a Marriott with an amazing view! Our coordinator Amanda Ownby was exceptional. She never went more than 24 hours without responding to any request. And she always was full of wonderful advice and suggestions for events. The day of I wasn't nervous about anything because I knew we were in good hands. She had ideas about things I wasn't even aware of. In regards to the sales process that was amazing too. The value for the area is beyond. Make sure to bargain because you can get it for less! They have weddings here all the time so you know all the staff knows what they are doing and that helps take away all the worries. I would recommend the Key Bridge Marriott to any bride. Of course the view helps too!

The best experience a bride can ever imagine. The food was fabulous, the view, the cake....WOW! I am so happy, the best decision ever!!.The entire staff was FANTASTIC from the first day I called the hotel until the day we left as husband and wife. Our family and friends were VERY impressed. THANK YOU KEY BRIDGE MARRIOTT

The staff an Key Bridge did a wonderful job during my wedding. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Our wedding coordinator, Amanda, and banquette manager, Christina, did an amazing job making sure that everything went well during our wedding party. The view was also incredible and we received a lot of complements from our guests on how wonderful the view of the city was. I would definitely recommend Key Bridge and especially Amanda and Christina.

Kaitlin was great to work with!!! As the closer we got to the wedding date, we made changes and there was no question about it, they got done.
The food was AMAZING!!! My fiance and I were not WOWED with the food during the tasting and we don’t know if they got a new chef but the filet was so tender and all the guests raved about the food.
The views can’t be beat and your guests will love it!

I cannot rave enough about the Key Bridge Marriott and their staff. My parents had come into town to look at a few venues my husband and I had researched. While the weekend was fun and we saw a lot of great options, none of them seemed right. Sunday my Mom and I went to a bridal show and my husband spent the day with my Dad. When they got home my husband told me to look online at the Key Bridge Marriott. They had passed it on the way home and he really liked the look and location. We reviewed some of their wedding information, menu options etc and were really interested. We were bummed though because my parents were leaving the next morning. On a whim, my husband called and left a message with their sales team. To our surprise, Ron Kee called us at 9:05 am the next morning. He told us we could stop by right away to see the facility.
Ron welcomed us with a smile, folder full of information ready to show us their facility as though we had made an appointment weeks ago. During the tour, I walked into the bathroom and started to tear up. We had found our venue! The hotel was unique and beautiful. There was a nice size room available for the ceremony and the view from their 14th floor was breathtaking.
After signing the contract, we were introduced to Kaitlin McGarry, our event coordinator. Over the next 12 months Kaitlin and I stayed in close contact and she was always very timely with her responses and always informative. Everything from the weekly correspondence, tasting and weekend of was seamless.
While I can go on and on, I decided to give an example that I think accurately depicts their level of detail and dedication to their customers and guests. We had created welcome bags for our guests and I was worried because there was about 50 of them. Would they remember to give them to everyone, how would they keep track? Well, after dropping them off at the front desk we came back to our room to find a message on our voice mail that there was a gift bag at the front desk for us. They had gone back and called anyone who had already checked into the hotel. They didn’t skip a beat!
The entire staff, specifically Kaitlin, Cristina, Hen and Gamal, were absolutely amazing!

OK, I notice that a lot of reviews on these sites are either all 5 stars or something horrible (who wants to diss their own wedding/planning, right?). But I really think this venue and my coordinator deserve high marks. I was very pleased and impressed with the service, responsiveness, the VIEW, and the convenience of having my wedding ceremony and reception at the Key Bridge Marriott. I received a LOT of compliments from my guests about how fun and easy we made it for them to celebrate with us. Some people may not like the idea of getting married in a hotel, but with the view on the 14th floor, the ease of NOT having to travel around to a reception location, and to get all my guests to bed safely after an open bar- this was the way to go.
Yes, you can do things cheaper elsewhere in this area, but I would suggest that if you aren't getting married in high season, that many prices are negotiable, even the prices in a fancy Marriott wedding catalog. Also, the value of a reliable venue coordinator and faith in their service is worth some money for your sanity.
Huge Kudos to my coordinator, Kaitlin, who was absolutely wonderful in responding to my e-mails and requests promptly. I'd tell her I didn't need an answer for a week and I'd have one within 2 days. And she was diligent about using her out of office alerts, so I always knew when to expect an answer if she was off site on a day I e-mailed. And I made her work too - I have a gluten intolerance, but she worked with us to find a dessert option that we loved (flourless chocolate mini-bundt cakes and an ice cream station!!) and she checked with the chef on all the foods in our tasting to make sure what I was eating was safe, and which ones to have my fiance taste test. There was sooo much food, our guests were very pleased with the taste, quantity, and quality.
2 suggestions - 1) check the bar package that you opt for, the entry level was not impressive, so we negotiated on an upgrade to the next level of bar, we even requested a gluten-free beer option, as well as a substitute vodka that wasn't even listed (Tito's).
2) If you do your ceremony there, go with the "stage" so more people can see you, but check on where the stair will be placed to get up there. I didn't rehearse and felt a little awkward when I realized I had walk up and then around the podium that I requested in a certain spot (my fault). But it was such a view with Georgetown in the background!
GUEST

Amazing view of DC & Arlington from the 14th floor ballroom, great event manager (Kaitlin) who bent over backwards to make our day everything we wanted, great food and catering staff...highly recommend!
GUEST

Wonderful professionalism with Kaitlin and the rest of the staff. Great catering. And above all, just an absolutely gorgeous venue.
GUEST

Key Bridge Marriott exceeded my (very high) expectations in every way. I was assigned an amazing event manager, who really was not just a point of contact, but a day of coordinator and made sure EVERYTHING went smoothly. We had a catering manager who found my husband and me before each course to let us know it was ready. We said we didn't want to eat at that time and they reheated it for us when we were ready.
The marriott granted every request and wish I had, including ones that needed special permission from security.
When I was first booking, I thought the cost was high. After seeing the level of service, the quality and quantity of food and how EVERY guest had a fabulous time, I think we got exceptional value for the cost.
The Marriott was extremely flexible. The checkout for all my guests was at 1pm and they were even abel to extend my suite until 3pm for me (very graciously).
The entire staff was excellent to work with. They were responsive, professional and a delight to work with up to and especially including the day of our wedding.
I would love to have another event here, I just can't think of another occasion yet.

We had our wedding reception and day-after brunch at the Key Bridge Marriott and it was fantastic! First of all, the views in the ballroom are absolutely stunning - and our out of town guests felt like they were on top of the whole city, and treated to the best views in town.
The folks we worked with including Karen in sales, Nancy as our event manager and others were super nice, responsive, very flexible and accommodated every one of our requests, emails and questions.
Another great feature about the Key Bridge Marriott is the extras you get with the wedding package ... a ton of food options, cake that's included, a beautiful suite for the bride and groom ... it was a great value for the money. We could not be happier with our choice, and every time we pass the hotel now, we look so fondly upon our time there!
GUEST

The Key Bridge Marriott was an exceptional place to have our wedding. We are SO happy we selected this location. The views from the Capitol View Ballroom are wonderful and our guests are still talking about them! Karen was our initial contact and was very informative and friendly to talk with. Once we booked, we worked with Chaverly as our event manager. Chaverly was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was so reponsive, flexible and accomodating! Everything we wanted she delivered, and more! The event staff the night of the wedding was on the ball. There wasn't a guest that was unhappy. Everything went so smoothly and was beautiful. I would highly recommend having your wedding at this location. The views, the staff, and the food were spectacular!
GUEST

We had our ceremony here at the Capital View Ballroom on the top floor. It was a cloudy/rainny day, but the view was still beautiful and compensated for the not so great weather. The ballroom was spacious, had tall ceilings and elegant, seated up to 200+ guests without any problem. We also rented a meeting room for the makeup and getting ready that morning, we had no problems with the set up and everything went smoothly. The sales team and event planners were wonderful to work with. The location was also perfect for us as we had our reception at China Garden Restaurant which was just down the road.

i recently had my wedding at the key bridge marriott. we had 2 ceremonies, one of which was held in the potomac ballroom and our reception took place at the capital view ballroom. our coordinator, alaina, went out of her way to make the day perfect and was pretty accomodating throughout the entire process. our catering manager, karen, was also great to work with and the night of the wedding, they both were there to ensure things went smoothly. the guests loved the venue (for those who have not seen the view of georgetown from the ballroom, it is pretty spectacular, especially at night). the food was delicious and the dinner service was seamless. our guests have raved about the food. the hotel worked with us to integrate ethnic foods and the chef was helpful during the tastings and provided suggestions and ideas for our menu. we were very happy with the wedding and the staff. i would recommend this venue (especially the capital view ballroom and our coordinator, alaina) to future brides.
GUEST

Beautiful venue! Staff was great before we signed the contract and during the week of the wedding. Slower responses at other times. Allowed us to bring in a kosher caterer for the reception. Very helpful and considerate in the spaces they made available for our various wedding weekend events.
GUEST

The Capital Ballroom on the top floor of the Key Bridge Marriott has an unbelievable view of DC! The floor to ceiling windows overlooking Georgetown and the monuments sold us when we saw it. We had our wedding upstairs and the sunset during our cocktail hour and the monuments all lite up at night. Simply beautiful. HOWEVER, EVERYTHING else went wrong!! The coordinators assigned to us were flakey and had no idea what they were doing. We thought things had gotten better until the actual night of our wedding when EVERYTHING went wrong. The Key Bridge Marriott served the wrong dinner, served the top tier of my cake, was unable to wheel the cake onto the dance floor, used the wrong plates, the bartenders were mia, our planner left b/c things were going wrong .. need I go on?? I would HIGHLY NOT RECOMMEND planning an event at the Marriott due to the HIDEOUS service!!!
GUEST

Chaverly was amazing as our wedding coordinator, and the view from the top of the Marriott was fantastic with the DC Skyline as the backdrop

We had our reception at the Key Bridge Marriott (KBM), and my husband and I were very happy with our choice. The venue is amazing--you can't beat the breathtaking views of DC. Many of our guests commented on that. The food was excellent and a great value compared to the prices you will pay to go across the bridge into DC for your reception. Our KBM-assigned planner, Nancy, was very nice to work with and made herself available to my wedding planner, and worked with us on various things that we wanted to tweak. Nancy and Karen and their whole team did a great job to make our day the way it should be.
We have a few relatively minor criticisms, but these do not change the fact that we would DEFINITELY choose the KBM again. We had reserved some rooms for guests, and we told the KBM that we wanted to pay for these particular rooms. Despite being reassured that those rooms would get charged to our wedding account, they were not, and caused our guests--who we had told we were covering their rooms--to have to put up a credit card and be charged for their stay. Of course, Marriott later reversed the charges (when we got back from our honeymoon and heard about it), but it was an inconvenience and unexpected surprise for our guests.
The other main thing that bothered me was that our credit card was charged for the reception *before* we received the final accounting or bill. So basically, there was a multi-thousand-dollar charge to our credit card one day, before had even seen what costs were incurred (although our headcount and price-per-head was already set, some things are variable, such as total bottles of wine consumed and other extras that occur on the day-of). That was disconcerting to me. The charges were all okay, and we did ultimately review them, and it was fine, but I was surprised that they would charge my card without my approval first.
Fortunately, none of these things affected our wedding day, and it was a beautiful venue, everyone had a wonderful time. The Marriott worked so hard to make us happy, and they did. We have gorgeous pictures and great memories, and would definitely recommend KBM for anyone looking to have a classy, warm reception venue in the DC area.

Our wedding was spectacular ... even if the weather wasn't! Key Bridge Marriott did everything to accommodate us from the first email that was sent to request information regarding their Capital View ballroom to the day of the wedding. While there were other weddings held that same day, we for surely knew that our event was special. The staff was great, the planners were excellent and helpful. As well, the ballroom's view was what captured the most attention...even in the rain! We looked at this venue and the Sheraton National --- the view from KBM was superior to that of the Sheraton National and the amount of the guests that could fit combined with the view is what also made KBM the choice for us.

We held our reception here at a later date, excellent service, great staff. They are very responsive, Nancy is just the best! We completely recommend the capital view ballroom for your reception. We had a blast and our guests loved the space.

I loved it and Chavarley was a great event planner..totally recommend this to anyone looking for a beautiful view of Georgetown in DC.

We held our reception in the Grand View Ballroom at the Key Bridge Marriott. In terms of the event space, this room was beautiful. The view of Georgetown/D.C. is spectacular, and the room decor is beautiful - our guests kept remarking about how amazing the room and view were. The service that we received from the first meeting was outstanding. We never felt pressured to "add on" more than we could afford, and we were given a very fair quote right up front. My fiance was unable to attend the tasting with me, so I had to go by myself. The banquet manager and on-site wedding specialist (included in the package) treated me like a queen, and helped me to make many decisions without being overbearing. The night of the wedding, the on-site wedding specialist had everything arranged - she had set up the place card table, arranged our favors at the place settings, and had our "holding room" set up with samplings of our appetizers and drinks. We never had to worry about a single detail, because it was taken care of for us. At the end of the night, as my new husband and I were escorted to our suite (included in package), the banquet manager asked if we needed anything. We both said we were hungry, and about ten minutes later, two full complimentary meals arrived. The entire process was stress-free, well-run, and dare I say, FUN. Thank you Key Bridge Marriott, thank you Chaverly, and thank you to the entire wait staff, for helping to make our reception an occassion to remember!

The cocktail hour started at 6:00 so our guests got to see the sunset from the floor-to-ceiling windows of Capital View Ballroom overlooking some of the best parts of the city. After sunset, the view becomes nothing short of spectacular as the city lights up all around you. It is my favorite view of DC, hands down, and our wedding pictures captured it beautifully.
I worked with Tom Sears at the Marriott to plan the event. He was fantastic to work with and always had time for us when we needed to go over the details. He definitely understood the importance of getting every detail exactly correct according to our specifications. The only detail that was missed was the flowers on the tables were supposed to be white, but they were red on the evening of the event. To us, that was not a big deal but some folks may have been upset. Other than that, every request was executed fully to our expectations.
The food was fantastic. Even the vendors were impressed with their meals. We had a sweet pea soup with truffles as our 1st course and it was quite the crowd pleaser. I loved it. The entree was filet and shrimp and both were cooked to perfection. We had no problems with multiple entrees and even special requests - we offered a vegetarian selection, a children's meal, and even had one shellfish allergy that they took care of by plating with two filets instead of filet and shrimp at their suggestion.
The hotel is newly renovated and each room is gorgeous. Our guests were treated nicely. The room rate for our guests was $129 when the regular rate would have been $250. We used the hospitality suite all weekend to entertain our out-of-town guests - very nice suite. We were able to reserve the rooms on either side of the hospitality suite to keep from disturbing other guests. Most special room requests were fulfilled. The bridal suite was catered with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne before we arrived on our wedding night. It was a nice touch.
All in all, I would use the Marriott again for any important event without question. They helped to create an unforgettable evening for our guests, my husband, and me.

We stayed at the Key Bridge Marriot for our wedding night. They spoiled us. Our room faced the DC skyline, the river, the beautiful monuments lit up! And the next day, we had a terrific brunch with out of town friends again, with a great view.
This past weekend I (MC Angel) performed at the Key Bridge Marriott in Northern Virginia. WOW!!! The rooftop ballroom is without a doubt the most spectacular venue for a view of DC in the DC, MD, VA area. Standing in one spot you can catch the canoes on the Potomac, shoppers in Georgetown, boats docking on the Georgetown waterfront, the historic Washington Monument and the busting Key Bridge; all without moving your head. It is breathless!
Not to mention Nancy and the amazing staff there. If they treat a performer with such elegance and warmth, I can only imagine what a guest would feel.
For a city view that dazzles, check out the newly renovated Key Bridge Marriott ballroom. Located on the top floor of the hotel, the floor to ceiling windows offer extended views up and down the Potomac River. At night the sparkling lights of the city make the ballroom a very romantic setting.
