Amazing photographer. I cannot say enough about Kip. He is professional, courteous, funny, and a true artist. He showed up early, stayed late, and had energy to spare. We got our photos from him within days of our wedding, and they are beautiful. If you believe you will only have one wedding, don't take chances with your memories. Anyone would be fortunate to work with Kip.

Kip quickly became a friend versus our photographer. He was genuinely interested in learning about the subtle nuances of my fiancee and me such that he was able to capture these through the photographs he took. My breath was taken away when I saw the first picture he took and the emotions just continued to pour out as I continued to look over the images. I would strongly recommend Kip to anyone who is looking for photos that continually remind you of the magic of the day!

Kip was the second shooter at our wedding. Our families really enjoyed having him there because he was so kind and gracious. Best of all, several of my favorite shots from the entire day came from Kip's camera. I'm so pleased he was one of our photographers. Great guy, great photographer.

Kip Beelman has that perfect mix of professionalism and personality. Kip and I met almost a year ago at a photographers gathering in Seattle and I have adored following his work and getting to know the man behind the camera. Kip is a master of handling complicated lighting situations (so important in the Pacific Northwest!) and putting everyone at ease. Having shot a wedding with Kip recently I can also say that his ability to handle last moment schedule changes & think on the fly is also extremely impressive. His work speaks for its self, check out his blog, each entry is more breathtaking than the last. I would recommend Kip to anyone looking for a Seattle area photographer, any bride would be lucky to have his beautiful work and big heart on her wedding day.

Well hello!

I call Seattle, WA home. I've lived in the Pacific Northwest all my life.

I love my wife Sasha and daughter Ella more than anything.

I've produced and engineered records for over 15 years. One was nominated for a Grammy whilst a couple others have had Platinum success. I love making music. Still do. Have to.

The girl and a camera appeared at the end of 2004. A love affair with both began immediately upon arrival. I am self-taught in parenthood and photography.

I answered a Craigslist ad soliciting second shooters for an established local wedding photographer. I wasn't sure I would like it and wanted to dip a toe. Officially all in.

What is it about weddings? People. By the end of the journey I share with a couple, I have two new best friends. On a wedding day I get to spend it with the most beautiful woman in the world. Precious moments. Moments like the touch of a fathers hand on his daughters back as they prepare to walk down the aisle. Raw emotion. The emotion that radiates form a man when he sees his bride on one of the most important days of their lives. The magnitude of four generations of family coming together to celebrate, perhaps for the last time. The love. The love uniquely shared between two people. The love of hundreds celebrating my new best friends. The stories. The stories that led to a couples union. The story your wedding day will become.

What primary photographic style do you identify with?

What do your packages include?

Do you have liability insurance?

Yes

Is your media preference film or digital?

I shoot digital most of the time, but have started working medium format color and black and white into my engagement sessions... Love it!

How many photographers do you work with?

My company selects the best candidate to compliment my style for each wedding from a stable of 5-10 trusted, talented colleagues.

Do you guarantee your presence at the actual event?

100%.

Do you sometimes book yourself for more than one event in a day? Weekend?

Engagement and family shoots sometimes get doubled up throughout the course of a day, but no one gets my attention except the bride and groom on their day. Two weddings in one weekend isn't my cup of tea either.

Do you have a replacement photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?

I'm part of a loving photo community that will have my back if I'm down for the count.

What kind of equipment do you typically bring with you on the day-of?

I bring all the big guns. Lighting too.

Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?

Absolutely.

Do you charge hourly or full day?

The packages determine the time, but each wedding is customizable and extra time can always be added if things are really cookin'.

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that the client provide your meal?

I don't require breaks, but I fed my wedding photographer and it is standard practice to do so.

Do you charge for travel?

I charge for travel to destinations outside of Seattle by 50 miles or more.

How soon after the event are the proofs ready for viewing?

Even before the wedding my clients book a viewing session between 2 and three weeks after their wedding at my studio where we recount the fun of their honeymoon, the emotion and beauty of their amazing wedding day, share some wine and watch a video presentation of my favorite 50 or so images.

In what format are the initial proofs offered?



At the conclusion of the session clients receive a hardbound proof book. An online gallery is activated and viewable for 30 days at this time also.

How long can the client keep the proofs?

In perpetuity.

Do you retain the copyright for the photos?

Of course.

Do you reserve the right to publish the photos?

Mais oui.

Do you provide the digital files and/or negatives (or copies of the negatives) to the client?

My clients receive a disc and permission to print for personal use.

Will images be available for viewing online?

Yes, for 30 days.

What kind of albums do you offer?

Hand made, flush-mount albums by Leather Craftsmen. Bam.
