Kirkpatrick Chapel was the only ceremony spot for our wedding since we met during our sophomore year attending RU! It is absolutely gorgeous and makes for spectacular photos. Patrick Cogan, the manager of the Chapel is extremely sweet and professional. My only complaint is the inflexibility...because of the nature of the age of the chapel, etc...there are certain contractual restrictions...i.e. no throwing rice, flower petals, etc. The only person allowed to play the 200 year old organ was not the most responsive, professional and easy to work with.

I have to preface this review with the fact that I used to work at the Chapel during college taking care of the weddings and various events in the space. I always knew I wanted to get married there! The chapel is an amazing historical site and does not need any décor. There is no AC but the weather was amazing- 76 so we didn't need it! Christy coordinated the wedding and rehearsal and ceremony and she was fantastic. She was unobtrusive but kept everything running smoothly. She stayed late the night of the rehearsal due to the storm and helped everyone out at the ceremony who missed the rehearsal. I also provided her with a specific list of music, people and events in the ceremony beforehand which might have helped out a little bit! The organist, Dr. Antonius Bittmann, was excellent. He's a world-class organist and brilliant professor who I respect very much. He kept in good contact with me and conducted my students well, even having never rehearsed with them until the 15 minutes before the ceremony. I highly recommend Kirkpatrick Chapel!

We chose Kirkpatrick Chapel as our ceremony site. I would only recommend this site more for late fall or winter weddings. They have no air conditioning and the day we married it was very hot and the air did not circulate at all in the chapel. It is a beautiful chapel, with gorgeous architecture and detail but unless you are ok with no A/C, this is not a ceremony site for everyone.

I am writing in response to the neen01 review of Kirkpatrick Chapel. We had the time slot after hers on 9/16/06 and if anyone was ridiculously rude it was her and her guests. The time slots are clearly stated in the contract yet she felt the rules did not apply to her and stayed much longer in the chapel to take pictures. Some of her guests were drinking in the parking lot and almost started a fight with some of our groomsmen. She was right about the rental process being simple and we found the gentleman in charge very helpful and knowledgeable about the the history of the chapel and the wedding business in general.
I would highly recommend Kirkpatrick Chapel because it is beautiful, historic and very reasonably priced.

We got married at Kirkpatrick September 2006.
Simple enough to rent the chapel but the customer service from the guy in charge of the chapel was awful! He was ridiculously rude to us during the booking but we did get an immediate apology from his boss so it all worked out in the end and the day of went perfectly.
