Alison Hayashi

Alison was so wonderful to work with, from the first consult up until the final day. Accommodated to whatever we wanted and it was such a privilege to have her there on our special day. So friendly and warm-hearted!

My friend had used her as her stylist in her wedding, so I knew that I was going to look great on my wedding day. We did a trial run a few days before my wedding day just so I could see what my hair and makeup would look like. She was nice enough to take my hair down again and curl it because it was also the night of my bachelorette party. Well the makeup and hair withstood my wacky night out, so I knew it would last on the wedding day. Alison arrived promptly on the wedding day. She had five of us to work with and she had another event prior to ours. This meant that she had to complete the hair and makeup in three and a half hours. She definitely got it done in time, but done to perfection. I was really impressed with how fast she worked and how nice everything turned out. We all had updos and all of ours lasted through the night. It was also very comfortable having my hair up. I've been in another wedding and I had a headache because there were too many pins. I had a very easy time taking my hair down that night. I highly recommend Alison! One of my bridesmaids was so happy with her services, she had Alison do her makeup for her engagement pictures two days after my wedding. I have another wedding reception coming up this weekend, and I wish I wasn't so far away from Hawaii. I would love to have Alison do my makeup again.

Feel & Look Beautiful, Inside and Out!

Having worked with many makeup artists throughout the US, Europe and Asia, including those whose clients include pop celebrities and socialites, I have found Alison to be one of the best of her kind. Not only is she able to bring out the best in you, she is also a pleasure to work with.

After a transpacific long-haul flight from East Asia to Hawaii, I wanted to make sure I look my freshest as an attendant/Scripture reader at one of my best friend's/cousin's wedding. I decided on Alison after thumbing through reviews and websites of the top makeup artists based in Honolulu. I contacted her less than a month in advance before the event and was relieved to find out that she had some free time prior to another wedding on the same day that she had committed to.

The appointment was efficiently arranged via emails. I just showed up at her studio and let Alison do her magic :) I was very impressed that she was using techniques that I had previously thought wouldn't work on me, such as applying the eyeliner on just the outside of my eyelids rather than both the inside and the outside. Her steady hands as someone formally trained in art allowed her to glue each eyelash extension one strand at a time, with precision. Her custom blends of foundation and powder felt as comfortable as a second layer of skin.

She was also very skilled and expedient with handling my hair. Even though the makeup + hair session lasted only for a little over an hour, both the makeup and hairstyle withstood the scourge of sporadic rainfall throughout the day.

Finally, Alison has such a glowing and warm personality -- just like Hawaii's weather at its best. I'm confident that you would enjoy working with her!

I can't say enough about Alison. Very responsive to my numerous pre-wedding emails. Was able to fit my wedding party in for a busy wedding day (8.8.08). She and her assistant came to the hotel on-time....at the crack of dawn, none-the-less....with bright cheery smiles. Wonderful duo! Great to work with both of them. My wedding party and I looked FABULOUS! Highly recommended!

Alison is a wonderful person to work with. She is very knowledgeable and she listens to what you want. I had a hair/makeup trial with her 2 days before the wedding and she did my hair and makeup exactly the way I wanted it. On the day of the wedding, I was able to relax, sit back and enjoy a great conversation with her because I already know how she was going to do my hair and makeup. She also did a great job on my Maid of Honor's makeup. We were very happy with her work and will highly recommend her to anyone.
