Reviews for Klituscope Pictures

Klituscope Pictures was fantastic!! Tom captured our wedding beautifully. He was so unobtrusive, we hardly even noticed him at our wedding. He was easy and comfortable to work with. We are so pleased with the finished product! We highly recommend his services.

I am the mother of the bride. We cherish the work Tom Klitus did on the wedding video. Anyone, nowadays, can point a camera and "capture" the wedding day. However, Tom turned the video into a beautiful work of art. Everyone loves watching it. Also, he was respectful and blended into the background at the wedding. We hardly knew he was there! He was the best vendor we hired for that day.

My husband and I couldn't have asked for a better videographer. My groom and family didn't feel a video was that important, but now that they see what Tom did with ours, it is the vendor we all feel was the most important for our day. It's like having a time capsule, and Tom is more than a videographer, he's a true artist.
My husband and I are completely blown away by his work. I feel like I'm watching a film by the makers of Braveheart! He really captured the essence of the day. When he asked me what sort of feel I wanted the video to have, I told him "fairytale, but elegant." I was a little scared how that would be interpreted... but I was so impressed by the way he added those fairytale/magical elements without it becoming cheesey or silly. He still retained the elegant/romantic quality while infusing a magical/fairytale element, and it truly is a work of art.
Here is a great example of this balance between elegance and fairytale. In the opening of the video, he took shots of the outside of the chapel before people had arrived, and you can hear the wind blowing, the birds chirping, and see the trees swaying in the wind. It feels so magical and at the same time sacred, and it is such a brilliant way to begin the story. It felt like the opening to an epic romance film! It was exactly what I meant when I said fairytale but elegant.
And he goes on to capture so many moving moments throughout the day. We were truly impressed to find that watching the video felt like we were stepping back in time. The way he captured the walk down the aisle was just so beautiful. And the way he edited the mass was perfect. We feel there is nothing missing from the ceremony and yet at the same time it is certainly edited in a way so that the ceremony does not feel long.
We also love what he did with the highlights section. We received a five minute highlights version of the day. He really surprised me when he went from black and white to color as I walked down the aisle and changed the music from the original "A Dream is A Wish Your heart Makes" to the contemporary pop version to match the color change. That was a really inspired choice and I really love it. The highlights feel like a music video of all the best moments of the day.
Also, I don't know if he did this on purpose, but my groom noticed that the first words we hear spoken in the video is my groom saying to the groomsmen "let's move forward" (meaning let's go into the chapel.) It is such a symbolic way to begin the video. We also love how in the opening, when he is showing the chapel and the nature around the chapel, he shows two of what I think are lilies of the valley. They look like little wedding bells and there are also two of them. Again, it just seemed very symbolic. We also loved how he used the music requests we had. "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" fit so perfectly with the change of mood. And we noticed that the lyrics matched different moments of the film.
The editing is so flawless, and it truly feels more like a film than a boring/long wedding video. My husband, to be honest, was fairly indifferent to the idea of a video, but he has rewatched this video over and over again because he loves all of the memories and moments captured.
Tom Klitus is definitely one of the best investments and choices we made for that day. He far exceeded our expectations for the wedding video.

Tom was great. We wanted no frills (no giant camera crew, no lights, no mics, etc....) and he delivered. Even my photographer asked at one point, "do you HAVE a videographer?" Despite that, he managed to catch everything and delivered a beautiful product for us to keep.
He was also smart enough to deliver us the full wedding video, and a much shorter clip that friends would actually enjoy watching. (Turns out, your friends and family aren't really interested in watching your whole wedding video - no matter how much fun they had at the party!)
He has a keen eye, and was a pleasure to work with.

Klituscope Pictures is an excellent vendor. Here are the positives: unobtrusive, creative, captures the moments, translates user requirements through artistic license to obtain the desired result. Great matching of our musical selections with the video. He also gave us the unused video clips for future use and to ensure that all action was accounted for.
We had a small wedding, but one with many toasts. We had specific musical themes and a general tone in mind. Tom spent over an hour to hear us out beforehand. One of the technicalities that would difficult to fit into a 1/2 hour video would be all of the toasts to us that we had scheduled. We asked that he use whatever artistic license needed to consolidate, highlight or blend to convey the essence; we knew that we couldn't have all toasts word for word. No easy task! What he did was brilliant. Each person was represented, and he played music and allowed for key words while rotating through each one toasting. A close up to the face and perfectly keyed music caught the essence and emotionality of the moment. It was abbreviated but comprehensive at the same time. Couldn't have imagined a better way to do it; getting so much in while abbreviating and accentuating the key emotions so elogently and effectively. Bottom line: he got a our requirments and transferred them beautifully to a wonderful product we will always cherish. There was a lot of content which had to be cut, so he used his 1/2 hour to the fullest by offering a range, sequence and candence of activities that formed the perfect timeline and the finished 1/2 product. His artistic effects were amazing (shooting dancing invitees through an outside window looking in). I love, too, that he gave us ALL of the footage (including non-used footage) so we have COMPLETE documentation of our wedding. In other words, we could look at the auxiliary DVD to hear each toast, see each dance, and experience the other moments. These we can save, develop still shots from or at some time create a revised and enhance video. Tom is TOP NOTCH. He is higly creative and listened extremely well to our wishes. Elisabeth and I highly recommend him.
Okay, I know I already sent you an email about the wonderful job you did on my daughter's and son's-in-law video, but I just had to write again. Because they just had their first anniversary, and because we were together with relatives for the fourth of July, we played the video for everyone. They couldn't get over how truly beautiful it is. We are amazed that you took a whole day and managed to condense it into a beautiful work of art. I guess in these days, anyone can point a camera and record an event, but your artistic choices on what to film and how to edit it (I suspect the most important part of the job) made it stunning.
My husband and I are completely blown away by your work. You really captured the essence of the day...The highlights feel like a music video of all the best moments of the day...I think one of my favorite moments is the first dance between my husband and I. You really captured all of the intimacy and emotion of the moment. It was lovely to watch and to remember what we were feeling and thinking as we danced. You just struck such a perfect balance between capturing the funny and light moments and capturing the emotional and romantic moments...My husband, to be honest, was fairly indifferent to the idea of a video since he is camera shy, but he has rewatched this video over and over again because he loves all of the memories and moments captured...You were definitely one of the best investments and choices we made for that day. You far exceeded our expectations for the wedding video...And I know that when we watch this on our 50th anniversary, we will still feel so much gratitude that we had such a wonderful artist capturing our day for us.
The videos arrived today. What an absolutely wonderful job you did capturing so much detail as well as all the warm feelings. Everything is clear and beautiful and the sound is fantastic. Thank you so very much. It was worth the wait!!!!
How can we begin to thank you for creating an absolutely perfect wedding video? I feel so fortunate to have our own 'smart, stylish, memorable' DVD. It is exactly what Jamie and I were hoping for—and more, as there were moments on the video when we had no idea you were there. It gave us great peace of mind to trust our wedding video to a talented, reliable professional. Thank you for helping us have a truly magical, personal wedding.
We love it!!! Thank you so much for your great work. It is an awesome documentation of our entire wedding and captures exactly how we felt that day. It was so nice to watch it and relive it! We look forward to making it a tradition to watch it each year on our anniversary."
Oh my God.....it's GREAT! Everything looks fabulous.
Thank you so much for a great wedding video! You capture every special moment and those private moments also. We can tell you truly enjoy what you do!
When Ron and I were planning our wedding, I wanted to keep things really simple: flowers, photos, a beautiful dress, and of course most importantly, sharing our special day with our friends and family. The idea of watching ourselves on video made me a little nervous.
Let's face it, our parents never had their wedding video-taped, and their wedding pictures recorded their special day just wonderfully. After seeing many different wedding video portfolios, Ron wanted me to sit down and watch one more: Your creative, artistic and classy approach stood mountains above the rest. We knew no matter how the day would go -- smoothly with no snafus, or with a glitch here and there -- we would enjoy our day with an unobtrusive, experienced videographer whose style captured every element of our wedding day and then some.
We feel like though you haven't known us very long, you really brought out our personalities in the scenes you captured, and the images you chose to highlight the various parts of the day. Ron and I are happy and grateful to have discovered you and your talent. Thanks for being there and aesthetically preserving such a precious memory!
