Kmart (Dayton)

My best friend had the idea of decorating a table with pictures of me and my husband throughout our life together. We weren’t going to be having a slide show, mainly because there was no screen and we didn’t have a budget to rent more equipement, and also because people like pictures. My best friend and my mom bought about 3 dozen frames from K-Mart, all different sizes, but all white frames. It was the coolest thing ever! It looked great. They spent between $3-10 a frame, some of which were on sale. Afterwards my husband and I kept more than half the frames and put them in our house.

This took a lot of trail and error, but I was able to make my own flower arrangement with vases that I got on craigslist and then with flowers and ribbons that I bought from the garden center. I ended up spending more than I needed, but I got the effect that I wanted. If you have the time, and you want something more unique than a regular bouquet, I suggest getting a copy of Home and Garden magazine and choose a floral craft from there, and copy it. It’s not that hard.

The flower arrangements we say at florists were really expensive, so we decided to make them ourselves. We were shopping for centerpieces, and my sister found over 20 big glasses vases on sale. She bought the vases, then rocks, and then some other garden supplies, and made really beautiful arrangements. Because the items she chose were on clearance, she paid 80% less than what they were originally selling for. I think if you can find the stuff you want on sale, it is worth making yourself.
