I don't even know where to begin. I feel as if I owe my life to Heidi Krause. She is a Godsend. First of all, she's a dream to work with... she just knows exactly what a bride wants and she does it beautifully. But she does so much more than that. I married late in life - at 51. This is for keeps and I waited so long for this special day and I wanted everything to be PERFECT. I didn't have a wedding planner. My sister/matron of honor and I coordinated everything by ourselves relying on wedding books and the internet when we were unsure of some aspects of wedding planning. When we didn't know where to get the answers to our questions, Heidi filled in the blanks on so many issues. But on top of that, my husband and I got married the week after Hurricane Irene dumped water all over Vermont and Massachusetts and Connecticut which caused the Connecticut River to flood and our wedding had to be moved. Heidi was instrumental in helping us find a new location that was every bit as beautiful and unique as our original venue. She was willing to go the extra mile and cater our wedding in a very unique spot where she had never catered before. And the food was fabulous. Our guests raved about it. Heidi said to me a few days before the big day that she was going to make sure that I eat on my wedding day. Knowing that brides are so very busy and pulled in a million directions at their wedding receptions, she said to me, "I always make sure that my brides get something to eat." And that she did. We had our photos taken on the walkway on the Founders Bridge in Hartford, CT and as we were getting our photos taken, we saw someone approaching us from very far away. It was Heidi with a tray of her fabulous hors d'oeuvres. I'd hardly eaten a thing all day... too busy preparing for a wedding that had been moved to a new location 2 days prior - with most of our guests and vendors not having any power. I was starving. Food never tasted so good. What an incredible gesture. It meant so much to me to see that she actually walked down that walkway on the Founders Bridge with a tray of food for me and my husband and my sister/matron of honor and our best man. She even brought along the dipping sauces that accompanied each canape. What an incredible woman. Hire Krause Catering because their food is fabulous... and you'll get to experience her incredible customer service.

Heidi, owner, worked our entire menu with us. Accommodated our vegetarian guest needs. Great value. Heidi worked our actual event and was incredibly helpful throughout the night. Not incredibly responsive through e-mail, very responsive via phone.

My husband and I booked our wedding at the Boathouse in Hartford, CT which required that we use one of their five vended caterers. Krauss was one of the caterers that was on the more affordable side. We appreciated their lower costs, however the price was still pretty expensive. We paid about $40pp for a simple buffet that did not include dessert or any drinks. When we first met with the owner (which is a nice woman who runs her business out of her home) we were very happy with the accommodations and service we received. We were very satisfied with the food and all our guests were very pleased. The only thing I had a problem with was that when I contacted the company a few weeks prior to my wedding date to make sure everything was in order the woman on the phone (who I assume was the owner) was very snappy and short with me. I had a few questions about our final count in terms of including children and she was not exactly cordial and basically said, in a huff, "whatever! you can count children under 12 as half price" a very short and snotty answer for my simple question of how should I count the children who attend. This was the only thing that made me a little nervous before the wedding as I was not sure if the service was going to be friendly. I was pleasantly surprised however that the wait staff were friendly and helpful all night at our wedding.

We met with the owner at her site (which is located where she resides), and she gave us a full tour of where all of the food would be prepared. She was very friendly, and spent a lot of time with us picking out our selections for the buffet we had, and told us exactly would be included in what prices. I did have to try several times to get in touch with her about some questions that came up from time to time, but she always did eventually respond whether by e-mail or by phone (I found e-mail to be more effective). The service at the wedding was impeccable, and the staff was very efficient and courteous. The food was great, and I would venture to say that all of the guests complimented either myself or my husband on our food selections, and caterer. They took care of cutting the cake after we cut the first slice, and cleaned up everything afterward.
