Reviews for La Belle Elaine's

I know this review is long, but I hope that shows you how strong I feel that La Belle Elaine’s customer service was poor. If you don’t have time to read the whole review, here is the general reason I suggest not using them: the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE that I have ever experienced in my life due to their unorganized staff. I have never in my life had to deal with such incompetence and utter lack of respect for customers. I went to La Belle Elaine’s to rent suits for the groom and groomsmen in my September wedding. In working with Lindsay, the primary contact for suit rentals at La Belle Elaine’s, I was at first very happy with the service that was provided. It was only after we signed up to rent from them that the customer service became so poor. All of the groomsmen called or came in to give their measurements and each one had a different issue with the staff. The staff was unorganized and often could not even find our order information to be able to record the measurements. When I called to confirm that the store had all the measurements, they said they didn’t have them, only to find out later it was because the staff wrote them down in multiple locations and did not properly consolidate them with my original order information. The staff did not know how to properly communicate with each other and that made it very difficult to work with them. When confirming the final order with Lindsay a few weeks prior to the wedding, Lindsay emailed copies of order forms to me for approval that had incorrect information on them. She assured me that the whole order was correct in the computer system even if the order form she sent me was wrong. This is where I made the mistake of trusting her. When we showed a few days prior to the wedding to try on the suits, they were ALL wrong. Half of the pants had been hemmed to be capri pants or shorts and the other half had the wrong waist and/or jacket measurements. All but the groom’s suit had bow ties instead of the regular ties I had originally requested. Instead of apologizing for the errors and being eager to fix them, Lindsay and the staff suggested the blame was with me and with other staff not being able to read their hand writing. Now the day of the wedding arrives. I have been assured by La Belle Elaine’s that all is in order and that we now have everything corrected. I am getting my hair done, when La Belle Elaine’s calls me. They say that they may not have given the vest and tie to one of my groomsmen. They don’t even know their own inventory and what they let out the door. Now it is my job to try to track it down for them on my wedding day. After many phone calls, I figure out that one of the groomsmen is missing these items. The groomsmen have to make an emergency trip to La Belle Elaine’s to get it. Later on in the day, I find out that the groom is actually also missing items from his order too. This could all be forgiven, except for the final straw. I find out that night, that La Belle Elaine’s called one of the groomsmen the day of the wedding to demand that he pay overnight shipping fees that instant for the suit rental that had to be overnighted because of their mistakes. This call could not have waited a few days after all that they had done wrong? I have never in my life had to deal with such incompetence and utter lack of respect for customers. The entire bridal party agreed that the wedding was great except for every single person’s interactions with La Belle Elaine’s. If you are thinking of using them for suit rentals, save yourself the stress and rent from somewhere else.

I live in Australia but got married in Seattle, WA. I found my dress in Australia but was able to order it from La Belle Elaine's for $1000 cheaper. I absolutely loved my experience working with La Belle Elaine's because they were so willing to work with my situation of living in another country. They offered to store my dress for over a year and then did not charge me for rushed alterations (I did not arrive in Seattle until the week of the wedding). They were so willing to offer suggestions and solutions to any situation and it worked out so harmoniously to work with them!!!

I lived in Pittsburgh and was visiting my sister in Seattle when I bought my dress. I was able to buy a sample dress designed by one of the owners of the shop at a very discounted rate--which was the only way I could afford it. The runway, the consultant--it all makes you feels like a princess! The staff was extremely flexible--allowing me to add a corset to the dress by their alterations department to make my dress the one of my dreams! They were also flexible in letting me do my final fittings during VERY short trips to Seattle 6 months before my wedding!I'd recommend them to anyone :)

I made my own wedding dress, but 4 days before the wedding I decided I HAD to get a crinoline/slip to wear underneath it. I called a few shops close to me, and La Belle Elaine's was great! They didn't have any crinolines in stock, but were able to sell me a floor sample that I could take home right away. They even gave me a 30% discount because it was a sample. When I called them on the phone, and when I went in person to pick it up, the salespeople were friendly and professional, and certainly didn't chide me for being too last minute. When I was in the store, it looked like they had some lovely gowns and a very elegant salon for trying things on. I can't comment to the full dress-buying experience, but for my last minute purchase they were great!

I visited several lower cost bridal shops before biting the bullet and heading to La Belle Elaine's. I had tried on dozens of dresses between $1,000-$3,000 but hadn't found anything I loved. I was a bit nervous that LBE was only going to have gowns outside of my price range, but they ended up having quite a few dresses around the $1,000 price point. My mom and I grabbed about 8 dresses off the racks and headed to the dressing room. The first gown I tried on was by Pronovias and it was the first dress I had tried that I truly LOVED. Thinking that such a beautiful gown would be upwards of 3k, we were pleasantly surprised to see that it was only $1050! We decided that I should continue trying on the rest of the dresses, but the next dress was the end all be all. Perfect in every way, by Allure Bridals and only $1,200! My dress truly looked like an incredibly high end gown and I can't tell you how many women have asked me, at and after the wedding, where on earth I got my dress and how much I had to pay. I had tried on a lot of the affordable lines, Maggie Sottero, Casablanca, and a lot of those gowns were more than $1,200! La Belle Elaine's has a beautiful selection of gowns and the affordable ones that they carry are carefully picked - they all look to be as expensive as the $4,000 dresses in the store. I highly recommend La Belle Elaine's. The shop is beautiful, the staff is helpful, and the dresses are GORGEOUS!

La Belle Elaine's was great! All the girls were so helpful and friendly! They make you feel like a princess and would always encourage me to walk their fabulous runway :) I was so happy with my experience, that I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone getting married!

I heart two places for bridal gowns and this is one of them the other one is Voletta Couture. First at La Belle’s, there is an awesome runway you can walk like a diva down on while trying on gowns. Another thing is, I think after going to all the bridal shops (went to….I do Bridal, Belltown Bridal, Princess Bride, La Belle Reve, Calla, The Bridal Garden, Voletta Couture…name it I went there) in Seattle and even some in Houston, TX, La Belle Elaine’s did it for me. Their gown selection was great, prices starting from 1k and they were really good at only showing you things within your budget. My ceremony dress is what I purchased here. I bought Pronovias Fresa dress which was beautiful in every way. I spent close around 3k at the end after alterations, getting a veil and other accessories. They were really professional and I had no issues with any of my fittings. Make sure if you are getting a dress made you buy it no later than 6 months prior to your wedding!

I had such a fun experience shopping for and getting my dress at La Belle Elaine's! The staff are wonderful and the raised runway is a blast. I am especially impressed with the alterations staff. Maria is a genius. She created bustles for my very complicated dress and it looked like a perfect piece of art when she was done with it.

They only received a little less than a 5 because I would show up for my appointment on time and would sometime have to wait a very long time because other appointment went long. I completely understand that. The value of cost is a 4 because they didn't have any dresses cheaper than $900 unless you showed up for a sale. High end store. I luckily showed up on their clearance day and received a steal on a designer dress! The quality of their staff is amazing! Each person loves what they are doing. I even received a note from my sales person thanking me for purchasing a dress from here and to call her if I need anything else. It was very nice. The seamstress was very knowledgeable and helpful! She listened to what my needs were and never wanted to ruin the integrity of the dress to just get the work done. They have TOP quality people working for them. I would recommend this store to anyone!
GUEST

Let me first explained why I marked a few things down (though I still gave a high rating). In regards to "Quality of Service" and "Value for Cost" I marked down because of their alterations service, NOT because of the service I received with the actual La Belle Elaine's team. The alterations were expensive, which I was okay with except that the bustle didn't even last half-way through the reception. It hung a little too low and after getting stepped on just once or twice, the whole thing was just hanging funny. I tried some safety pins but ended up just having to leave it down. It's not easy to do the electric slide with a train! I thought the bustle looked high quality -- it tied together in several spots as opposed to buttons or hooks -- but it just didn't last. And in regards to "flexibility," it certainly isn't their fault they were busy in July and August! That's to be expected.I had a wonderful experience in this bridal salon! It's beautiful and I love how none of the dresses are in plastic. You can see everything!! I had so much fun trying on and was so pleased to find that the dress or my dreams was so affordable! The ladies had fun playing dress up with me -- trying on veils and jewelry and hair clips -- and I felt like a princess but didn't feel ANY pressure to buy any of the fun accessories they were putting on me (and I didn't buy any). I purchased all of my bridesmaids dresses here and got a discount for doing so. I definitely suggest you go try on some dresses there and have some fun with the catwalk!
GUEST

Love my dress!! From a Seattle designer. I could not be happier. The ladies at La Belle Elaine's were very helpful.

La Belle Elaine's is a beautiful shop full of so many various types, styles, and sizes of dresses. They have a catwalk with mirrors at every angle and trying on dresses could not be more fun in that environment! Sara Jean, the manager, helped me find my dress in record time. All I did was try on 5 different styles (very different from each other), told her what I liked and what I didn't like, and she said "I have the perfect dress for you!". She went to the back and brought me the perfect one (luckily no one had tried it on before and I fit the sample size!). They also held onto it for me for over a year since I was living abroad at the time I purchased it (was just back home visiting) which was a HUGE convenience. I ended up getting it altered at P.A Jens Custom Sewing - which I totally recommend. They didn't recommend Trish (they have an in-house person), but you should totally go see her (near the U.Village) because she did a stunning job too. The only thing was that my dress was a little more expensive than I was wanting to spend, but since I fit the sample size, I got a discount!
GUEST

After a bit of searching, we found the right dress for the right price.I also appreciated that the store was so well kept and orderly. Sometimes bridal stores can feel a little cramped! Also, all the display dresses were in great shape.
GUEST

Overall all I had a great experience getting my dress from La Belle Elaine's. My original consultant was helpful and ended up pulling the dress I eventually chose, she wasn't at all pushy and didn't put any pressure on me to buy that day which was extremely important to me. They were great when I wanted to come back with a couple of friends to help with my final decision and again when my mom was finally able to come out to see the dress after I had already purchased it. The only problem I encountered was a mistake with an alterations appointment that had not been written in correctly but they were very apologetic and made up for the mistake. I would defintely recommend them to anyone. And there selection was great.
GUEST

My experience at the La Belle Elaine's was pretty close to perfect! The dresses are top quality for fair prices. The sales people were very helpful and accomodating to everything that came up during the process. I definitely will recommend them to anyone!
GUEST

Heidi (a sales lady) actually took what I was looking for and found my dress for me. We bought it that day. My dress fit perfectly I didn?t even have to get it altered. It was a good day.
GUEST

They were great before buying a dress. I would call and they wouold get me in even if they were really busy so i could try on my dress a million times. But as soon as it was bought and paid for. They were on to there next victom. They under estimated the time of arrival by a month on both my dress and the bridesmaid dress. I understand A week but not a month. Then when i went to get it altered the lady never moved from the floor. She was lazy. SO needless to say i took it somewhere else to get altered at a more reasonble price.
GUEST

Very professional and great sales !They have beautiful dresses there... After going to several places, I found my dress there, and it was not hard to fall in love with it... Really nice place to pick your dress and very friendly people...
GUEST

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place! I had been to only 2 other places prior to going here and the woman who helped me was AMAZING. She made me feel so very comfortable and was extremely helpful. I love the layout of the store and you also get your own private room. I ALSO loved that she knew so much about each dress, the designer, the material, etc, and we went through each dress to figure out what i loved and what i didn't love. I knew the MOMENT i tried my dress on that it was the ONE, and it was WAY out of my price range, but turns out the designer wasn't making it anymore and it was the LAST ONE!! and I got it for 40% off straight off the rack, which was amazing and such a blessing! BUT the reason why i marked quality of service at 4.5 was because i too had alterations done there, and when i went for my second fitting i realized tha tthe bustle wasn't done right, and they said they would fix it, but come the wedding day..and come reception time when i was wanting to use the bustle, i realized it hadnt been fixed. so that was a bummer! but overall, a great spot and a wonderful experience.

I love coming to this store. I've been there before 3 years earlier to help my friend with her wedding gown. And I went there again for my own wedding gown. They have vast amount of gown collection. At first it overwhelmed me. But after I told Tanida, the lady who helped me at the store, about what I wanted, she quickly grabbed all the gowns that matched my preferences and styles. She was amazing and she knows about wedding gowns.I went to other 4 different stores, but in the end I came back to this store to buy wedding gown.I also ordered my veil there and it was great. It was made to match my wedding gown.

I got my dress here and had alterations done through them. All of the sales consultants were very patient during the dress selection process and every person I encountered I had was friendly and attentive. They were very happy to work with my budget (I paid $2k for my dress and they sell dresses up to $6k), had a huge selection, and the runway was amazing! They let us come in and drink champagne for my preview appointment (my dress arrived on time in exactly 6 months as estimated) and even stayed until after closing to let us enjoy the moment! After 2 fittings, my dress was altered perfectly. I also ordered my veil through them and it was the perfect shade of ivory to match my dress. I would highly recommend this place.

The selection of wedding gowns here is amazing, lots of big designer names. I wouldn't recommend this place for budget brides as the cost of the gowns mostly start from $1,000+. There was actually a mistake on my appointment date and time but I was helped regardless and Heidi was very friendly and knowledgeable. The selection for bridesmaid dresses is also nice with all different styles, as well as attire that the Mother of the Bride could try.

Bought my dress here and loved it. My wedding was on a Monday and the manager actually came in to work and gave me her cell phone number so that one of my girls could pick the dress up. It fit great in the store but on wedding day I did have a few issues with it but over all it was perfect.
GUEST

I really want to rate this store even higher, but because of a few mishaps closer to the wedding day, I can't. La Belle Elaine is a fabulous store and very different than any other wedding dress store I have ever visited. The store is so neat, clean, well-organized, and provides a vast variety of dresses -- no matter what your taste, you should find something you like here. The staff overall is wonderful. I felt special from the time I walked in the door for my first visit, even though on the phone they told me I likely would come in more than once before I bought a dress (I bought one within an hour!). The issues started when I began the alteration process. The woman helping told me I had to make a decision on the bustle immediately even though I asked if I could look up what the sales person had told me to do and to double check that decision with my planner (I had all the notes from when I bought the dress at home). She said she would just do what she liked and so I called later and asked a manager to note that no work on the bustle should be done. When I returned, the note was on the tag, but the bustle was done. When we asked that it be done in the way that I wanted (and the salesperson had told me when I bought the dress) the woman said she would leave both -- which would include an extra non-matching button on the back of my dress. Only after speaking with someone else was I able to get it changed. While at my second fitting we requested that the dress be steamed prior to pick up, when my planner arrived to pick up the dress it was not steamed. They would not give her the dress until they called me to confirm we really had wanted it pressed and my planner paid $85 for the service. I was bothered most by this because it was a detail we had written down weeks before and not something I wanted to deal with on my wedding day nor another check I wanted to write when, of course, the dress would be wrinkled from all the alterations.Again, overall, I loved this store and would highly recommend it to anyone, but because of the alteration process I feel I have to lower the rating to what it is.

We had the most wonderful experience at this dress shop. Tanida, the girl that was assigned to us was so helpful and sweet. She made this part of the process so relaxing and rewarding. The shop is gorgeous and you are treated so great from the moment you step in the door. You can't beat putting on a designer wedding gown and walking down a runway with 360 degree mirrors. It was great!

Going to La Belle Elaines for my gown was one of best experiences of my life. They made me feel like a special princess, just like how every girl should feel when she buys here wedding dress. I love my dress and I will always be thankful for La Belle Elaines for helping me choose just the right one.
GUEST

I really loved La Belle Elaines selection and they had a very clean store. Although they have more expensive lines of dresses, they had the right dress for me. The dress I purchased didn't seem "cookie cutter", and they have many unique dresses available from well known designer. My dress arrived when they said it would, and they kept in contact with me. They let me take my dress with me, rather than keep it in the store until my wedding, and offered to steam it before my wedding. The only bad thing I can say is that the particular sales associate I had when I bought my dress made me feel pressured into getting it. Although I was very happy with it, it's not always comforting having someone pressuring me into buying such a big purchase.

I scheduled a last minute appointment on a Wednesday night and that was not a problem for them. I had been to several places before and I was getting to the point where I didn't believe I was going to find "the dress" and that I would end up with a dress that would just work. I worked with Lindsey who was wonderful with helping me find the dresses in my price range. Somehow I picked up a dress that didn't have a price tag and it happened to be "the one" and I knew it the moment I tried it on. I was devastated when I found out how far out of my price range the dress was though. Lindsey worked with me and let me buy the one off the rack at a discount. It was still more than I wanted to pay, but she at least got the price down into a range I could live with. I will recommend that you do not use their alteration services they have on site though. I had the cap sleeves of the dress shortened because they kept slipping off my shoulders. The final work they did was not good though and the strap came undone half way through the reception. Thankfully I had my bra straps snapped to the cap sleeves so I could make sure my bra wouldn't show. My bra straps ended up keeping my cap sleeves in place. The lower rating in this review is based on their alteration services.

I had a great experience at this bridal shop. I was told at other bridal shops that I wouldn't find what I was looking for in a dress. I only had to visit this shop once to find exactly what I wanted. We were also helped by Tanita and I couldn't have been happier. She helped make the experience fantastic. I never felt pressured into buying the dress. She was very cautious of our budget and the time frame in which we were dealing (I needed my dress in under 4 months). Everything went exactly as planned. The only negative thing I experienced was that all the little extras you need aren't cheap and you don't really want to move your dress to another location for alterations and pressing.

La Belle Elaine’s Bridal is a great place to try on dresses. They have a long runway that is fun to walk down. However it is a good idea to go during the week because on Saturdays it is pretty crowded. I actually only bought my veil from La Belle Elaine’s but they were very helpful. My veil had a ribbon on the edge and when I went to go pick it up a couple days before my wedding and it was pink! The pink ribbon did not go with my ivory dress at all. La Belle Elaine’s ordered a new one right away and it was there in time for my wedding. The girls there were really helpful and nice.

Although I didn't end up buying my dress from here ultimately, I just wanted to write a review that I did have a really really great experience here. The saleswoman I had was never pushy and she was always accommodating and pleasant. I went back about 2-3 times and enjoyed each time. Each bride gets their own, quite large, dressing room with mirror. I love the privacy. The "runway" is also fabulous and makes for a fun experience. I highly recommend this dress shop!

LaBelle Elaine's was a great wedding gown store to work with. Although very expensive, the amount of care and personal touch that is put into the service is worth it. My favorite part of the experience at LaBelle Elaines was that I worked with the same girl for my whole experience. Every time I made an appointment they made sure that I got the same person that helped me pick out the dress. The catwalk in the store is a nice touch too. It is a long, elevated walkway with beautiful lighting and mirrors all around. Another great touch was the fact that I was able to webcam my mom right from the store with my dress on. She lives in Alaska and was not able to see my dress in person when I picked it out or for any of my fittings, but LaBelle Elaines has a special webcam set up above the catwalk for situations like mine! It was a great and emotional experience for my mom to be able to see me in my dress before my wedding day. LaBelle Elaines is worth the money! I loved my experience with them.

This is a beautiful facility with gorgeous gowns – I loved walking up and down the runway! The lady that helped me choose my gown was friendly, knowledgeable, and did a great job of bringing me gowns that fit the description of what I was looking for. The only bummer was that when I was scheduled to pick up my dress after alterations, it wasn’t quite ready yet. They realized their mistake though, and quickly got it ready for me.
GUEST

I bought both my dress from there as well as my bridesmaids' dresses. They had an excellent selection, and good prices. They were also very helpful, especially for dealing with out of state, and not pushy.
GUEST

They service is good, but the dress is overprice

my dress was ultimately 6 months late... the first time it came in the wrong size and color, so I had to wait 5 months. They never gave me a straight answer when I asked where it was, they said... "oh it will be here at the end of this month, call if it isn't" I had to call at the end of each month.... it ended up being 2 months late.
GUEST

a little pricey, but had a range of dresses in different prices. love the boutique, loved my dress - would definitely recommend them!!
GUEST

I bought my dress before they merged at their old storefront in Edmonds, but either way the important thing is they had the dress for me! The boutique atmosphere was great, it made me feel like my dress was special - not just another one off the rack next to dozens others just like it. The personal service was wonderful. The ladies at Elaine's made the experience fun for my mom and sister as well.
GUEST

La Belle Elaine's was by far the best place I visited for my dress. The customer service was exceptional, and I highly recommend everyone in the greater Seattle area go to them. They treat you well, and you can find a great dress for whatever budget you have.

I got my wedding gown and shoes from La Belle Elaine and was pleased with my experience. My dress actually came in a little earlier than they predicted and the alterations and pressing went very well also.
GUEST

I bought my dress here, "off the rack" instead of custom ordered. My dress was different than any other I've ever seen. The experience was wonderful and they made dress shopping into a very memorable event. I would highly recommend them although their prices are high -- but you get what you pay for!
Fabulous & professional staff! They have a dress for every bride. You will love their runway, its the best part of the entire shop!
