La Bomboniera

Having a traditional Italian wedding, my Godfather wanted to pay for our wedding favors given to our guests. In a traditional Italian culture, "bomboniere" are given as favors/gifts to each woman attending the wedding as a guest. We gave our favors one per family to save on expenses.

We went to a few other stores to look for the traditional bomboniere and ended up at La Bomboniera on Harlem Aveune. The owners both were very nice (only spoke Italian) but helped pick something out that worked very well. We decided on silver small ice cream scoops that were packed in a box with a ribbon and netting & almonds just as they do in Italy.

Although I wish they were less expensive, it was worth paying for them to be made for us instead of having to spend all those man-hours doing them ourselves. I guess it's good to support local small businesses!
