Reviews for La Canada Flintridge Country Club
The location of this country club is wonderful. It is set atop a hill overlooking the los angeles and san gabriel area. It is definitely a great view for your guests.
After talking to Karmen, we found out that the month we want will have an 8% increase in price. We were not too thrilled about that. The main ballroom looked a bit too small for 300 guests and our concern was our guests' comfort level. The ballroom's cocktail area was outdated and dark. We would have to host the cocktail hour in the pool area for an additional $1,000.
If you are looking to have about 150-175 guests, I would highly recommend the smaller room. It has better views and a better cocktail hour room.
After looking at several hotels in the Arcadia and Pasadena area, my MOH decided to show me this country club. I loved the LCF room because it has a wrap around balcony and wonderful views of the valley below and downtown Los Angeles. When I saw the pricing, that was the kicker. After looking at pricing from the Hilton, I could basically get a dual plate of filet mignon and chicken for about the same price...along with a two hour cocktail reception! Shirley has been very nice and responsive. Can't wait to get married there next year!
Follow up post: My 5/5/07 wedding receptions was FANTASTIC. The food was fabulous (dual plate of filet & chicken kiev). Everyone loved the nighttime view and wrap around balcony. It was perfect and I definitely recommend it to brides - it's at least worth an appointment to check out. The staff was very attentive and professional. My hubby and I are glad we chose LCFCC. We danced the night away and enjoyed every minute of it.
Everything was wonderful, Shirley & Debbie were great. Got many compliments on the room, the food and service. Highly recommend.
My review is a bit biased. FIL works there, so we got hooked up with a lot of stuff. But I'll try to hit on the basics.
I have absolutely no complaints about LCFCC! But then again.....the manager is friends with my now FIL and he was around for most of the reception making sure everything was just right.
One thing - I heard the mixed drinks were weak and expensive. We had hosted bar for 2 hours. But I got raves on the hor'derves and food. Food was hot and the chicken was tender and juicy. But again....the manager asked the chef to cook all the chicken that day (they usually cook it the night before).
They have a new coord. She's kind of wacko (Shirley), but they had someone new working our wedding. She was super nice and was all over the place making sure things were right.
Overall, I reccommend this country club. They recently expanded their menu selections and are constantly making upgrades around the clubhouse. We used the main ballroom which was perfect for our 200+ guests. Large dance floor and private restroom.
I am so glad that I booked with La Canada CC! I had the best wedding here and got SO MANY compliments from my guests. The food is phenomenal!! The country club has a wonderful view and the prices can't be beat-everything is included including the cake! I looked at many places for a reception and La Canada was by far the best deal probably because it is a bit older. The LCF room has a balcony that wraps around the room, it is just a gorgeous view! I couldn't have imagined having my reception anywhere else! Definitely check this place out!
PS: I just got married August 16 and you can take photos on the golf course greens!
Our reception was beautiful! We were in the LCF room, and the view of the city lit up at night was gorgeous. There was enough room for a group of 130 with a big dance floor. The food was great. Shirley, the coordinator, is very friendly and funny. One complaint: The club will not allow you on the golf course to take photos. There is little space with a nice background for photos. We ended up going to Gamble House in Pasadena for formals.
I looked at this site too and my photographer and I thought it was too plain. Not too much photo opp.
:(
